Now that I think about it…
I think it’s best to NOT hide the menu on the top left corner at all…

But keep the idea of showing new players that they can access PvP and WvW at a certain level indeed in case they havn’t poked around the menu there.

Yes, they can.

For example, WvW and PvP will be messaged to players via the level-up notification system at levels 18 and 22, and the buttons in the top left will be hidden until then, but experienced users can use the portals in Lion’s Arch or use hot keys to access those game modes immediately. Once the buttons are unlocked for one character on your account, they’ll be visible to all future characters as well.

So the buttons doesnt have to be unlocked for the new player to still be able to join PvP?
Is that how it works?

I bring lots of new players to PvP Lobby so they can learn combat and they also enjoy PvPing so is this going to effect them?

It would be a shame if they are unable to participate in PvP or learn combat in the Lobby fighting NPCs to test out skills and builds unless they where higher level.

I dont see anyone making threads to bring concerns of this so I thought to make one questioning it… I think taking downstate away is stupid… It’s a mechanic that all levels should learn.

Nope… PvP & PvE are 2 different game modes.

Whatever your Armor/Weapon stats provide you, does NOT apply in PvP.
Whatever your level is in PvE will NOT apply in PvP..

You have access to everything you need to stay competitive with others.
You dont get anything that will put you in advantage over others.

It’s just you, your skills, and strategies!

All classes are good at all game modes!
Some people prefer the class they know best and think of other classes useless when they lack knowledge of how to play it in the first place unfortunately.

Keep in mind if you never explore the world, when you want to do other things, you’ll have no way to get to them. Eventually you’ll want to fight one of the dragons or other big meta events, instead of just farming.

You won’t have any way points unlocked if you never leave Kessex.

Dont forget to mention grinding and repeating the same content is the best way to burn yourself out of the game too! Makes progression slower and boring!

The first link Oxtred shared with you is actually a guide I made that’s a sticky on the forums here. Check that out and you’ll know all the combat basics you need to get started. Also the 2nd link was posted by greg.3792 and that gives some amazing tips on the game in general that’ll defiantly help.

Being a good Elementalist means you need to swap attunments and use the skills you need when you need them.

It’s not actually stats, it’s just visuals. You can see all the visuals in the gem store (Krytan, Primeval, and Profane) but remember that it’s one armorset per armor type, so you can’t pick Krytan for your Elementalist.

If you’re unsure, save it. You can always open the box later. You don’t get any stats from it, so don’t feel pressured.

I think Esplen did a better job explaining it than I have. lol
But yeah.

Don’t worry about the stats… I’m pretty sure the “Heroic Edition” just contains the Armor Skins which you can apply to any other armor later in the future.

So pick the looks you like best instead.

In fact it’s just the game’s way of telling you to S-Up you’re typing too much…

So he didnt ignore you or block you. It’s just part of the game mechanic.

1. If you’re a PvP player then just focus on PvP.

You’ll learn nothing about PvP from PvE.
Every 4 matches you win, you’ll earn A Scroll which would level your PvE char anyways. If you do Story Dungeon you’ll unlock the track so you can get loot/money from doing PvP Dungeon Track so you dont have to ever do Dungeons.

2. You have access to all Skills/Traits/Stats available to you in PvP and you’re boosted to lvl80… Whatever stats your Armor and Weapon provides you from PvE will NOT apply in the PvP Lobby or PvP Matches.

3. If you want to do WvW then just do WvW instead… Learn how the Commanders run their zergs, get loot and exp from WvW and learn where to put your points in WvW for upgrades like carrying more supplies or dealing more damage with arrow carts etc.

PvP, WvW and PvE are 3 different game modes.
You can play them anytime and progress with any of them.

If you prefer too focus on PvP then stick with PvP.
If you prefer to focus on WvW then stick with WvW.
If you prefer to do PvE then stick with PvE.

If you prefer to do Everything and all game modes then do them all!

You’ll have to re-learn everything since GW2 is a different game. There are No Quests.

That video wasn’t suppose to teach you anything though, just an idea of how you’re expected to fight in general combat and adapting to different situations dynamiclly and swapping attnuments when needed.

There are no Skill rotations…

Combat is dynamic you need to use what you need depending on the situation of the combat you’re in.

There are rotations with ele, don’t mislead him even further.

There are No Skill Rotations in this game… PERIOD.
You’re misleading him with information.

If you’re rotating skills and not using what you need based on the combat situation that changes every second then you’re wasting skills. You cannot anticipate enemy attacks so you need to be prepared for just about anything.

Of course there are No Right way of playing a class..
There is however a Wrong way of playing them and that’s standing still and button smashing. Make sure you stay Mobile and dodge! It’s much harder melee but it’s fun if you get the hang of it.

I agree I hope Part2 and future story telling stay instance based.

All classes are pretty epic and easy to play if you learn the basic combat mechanics.

If you want, I can teach you all about classes and what they are all capable of doing in combat. Everyone has different experiences and in my opinion I don’t think Warrior and Guardian are the easiest to level. It’s whatever people like and know best.

If you can get in game right now, I can show you and help you out.
There is a place called ((Heart of Mists)) which you are boosted to lvl80 and have ALL Skills/Traits/Stats unlocked so that you can test them out and see which classes and builds work best for you.

Yes, that’s sarcasm. While I agree that a game’s developer needs to be sympathetic to the desires of the customer, it stop if it goes against the developer’s design philosophy for the game. And mounts, duels, GvG either never were to be or dropped during development for reasons they don’t have to tell us. Remember PvE is happy, pretendy, fun-time land were all races get alone and where we all help one another and nobody can grief anyone else (so no GvG or duels in PvE), in a world littered with enough Asuran Way Points to be within a 15-30 second jog to anything of interest, once you find them.

You know… That’s actually Not a bad idea… serving Chinese, Mexican and Italian dishes mixed. Could come up with new tasty food never seen before. I should start a restaurant.
