No this is so dumb!
When I do long jumps I like holding down the spacebar!
That is how I play games that have Jump…
Why should I be forced to change how I play because of this broken system?
Double-tap spacebar should be gliding, NOT this stupid hold space crap…
This is PC gaming… At least give us options ArenaNet =(
Let us decide if we want to hold spacebar, or double-tab spacebar, or keybind it for gliding so everyone is happy!
Please give us these following options for glide activation:
Option #1 – Hold Spacebar to Glide
Option #2 – Double Tap Spacebar to Glide
Option #3 – Keybind a key to Glide
Currently we only have Option#1 and it works for some and doesnt for others.
I am one of those people who cannot adopt to the first option because it always messes me up no matter how hard I try not to hold the spacebar to make long jumps. So please add the other 2 options I have mentioned and I guarantee you everyone will be happy! Let us choose how we want to active glider! =(

I really want to play the 4th episode of Season 3 but ugh!
The wait sucks!
Any idea when it will be released?
Hey! If you’re interested, I can asnwer all your questions and help you learn how to best improve in combat and make builds through skype voice chat. =)

Add me and lets play!
Such fanboy ahah. The voice acting?really?
Yes I love the voice acting.
I truly love the actors and actress voices and performance!
Do you know ANY MMORPG with GW2 quality in voice performance? I’d like to know. Name me one…And yes. I am a GW2 fan and darn proud of it! ArenaNet earned my respect unlike other MMO companies they disappoint me.
Secret World has VA far and above anything GW2 has, despite so e improvements recently.. But they do blow most of their budget on it, so hardly surprising. GW2 has many flaws, but I agree with it being the best on the market…or at least my favourite and most played. And it had some stiff competition in Anarchy Online and Lotro to dislodge ftom my pov.
I personally don’t like the voice acting for secret world…
I also hate the setting.
I still think gw2 voice over is better for me anyways
I love GW2 so much!
I enjoy the Story Missions!
I enjoy the Events!
I enjoy the Exploration!
I enjoy the Jumping Puzzles!
I enjoy the Combat!
I enjoy the Voice Acting!
I enjoy the Cutscense!
I enjoy the PvP!
Honestly I love it so much!
GW2 makes other MMOs a chore to play.
GW2 makes other MMOs boring to play.
GW2 makes other MMOs feel cheap.
ArenaNet I ask you this:
Please make MORE!
MORE STORY!
MORE JUMPING PUZZLE!
MORE EVERYTHING!
Only Issue I have is there never seems to be enough! =(
Forget playing other MMOs… they are boring grind fest compared to the adventures of Guild Wars 2 in the world of Tyria!
I have a Youtube Video on my channel that shows you most of the cutscenes on all important parts of Living Story Season 1 and it’s like 1hour and 40min. It’s all dialogue and I cut most of the fighting sections to get to the point of the story. Grab a popcorn and enjoy.
Here’s the link:
1 Open World Duels are dumb. If you’re truly skilled go to sPvP where stats/skills/traits are all accessible and fair for everyone. Also I’m not interested in people spamming duel invite on me while I’m trying to explore and have a good time in PvE. Keep that toxic kitten out of GW2
2 Gear Inspections are BAD! It does not encourage new players how to be creative and make their own build. Instead it teaches them to copy other people and does the opposite of encouraging the idea of build diversity. The new Trait system already messed this up, but you can still make your own build. We need to encourage build diversity not discourage it.
3 Vehicals are alright as long as it does NOT give movement boost, and if it does add movement boost then it should only be allowed if it’s part of the Story instance.

Thank you both for the help so with an i5 and a 1050ti ill be golden.
Yes you will be golden however, if you call me on skype I can teach you what you need to know about shopping for parts and with that knowledge you can learn how to save a lot of money while still getting the performance you need. So I wouldn’t buy anything just yet. Call me first.
Why do you try to drag every single person who asks for build help onto skype? It’s unnecessary, and putting it on the open where people can critique your suggestions is a way better idea.
Because I don’t do simple little suggestions. When I help someone through skype, I enjoy doing it through human interaction and I actually putting a lot of time, effort, love and passion into it. You see I enjoy teaching people that way. I could type it all here but I prefer not put most of my time writing in text. Also those I have helped through skype tend to really appreciate my time. I like socializing.

I’m not sure if this is the right sub forum for this but I figured it was as good as any to ask. I have been wanting to build a PC for a while now to better run GW2 as it is far and away my main game. I want to spend around 500-600 dollars and would ideally be running high settings around 60 fps. Does anyone know what parts I should focus on or what parts have been good in their experience? I tried Reddit and it wasn’t too helpful.
Thank you all in advanced.
Hey man.
If you’re interested I’d be more than happy to teach you how you can identify which PC components are compatible with each other and how you can compare them when you want to go shopping for the parts. If you are up for it, give me a call on skype and I’ll walk you through! I’m just doing this for fun, so no need to pay me back.

^_^ Boy this is going to be fun fun fun! Hope to hear from ya soon!
I agree with this post 100%
I am not Japanese but I would love to practice my Japanese with the Japanese people and it makes me sad that I can’t do that in my favorite MMO, GW2…
Please ArenaNet support Japanese Text. =(
ugh! Waiting sucks! I wanna play Season 3 Episode 3 now T_T
Can we please have Towncloths as Armor skins? Or at least make them outfits. =( and dyable again! Plz!
The title says it all. When do you think it will be released?
What month and possible day? I enjoy story content so Idc if there isn’t new map introduction. I just wanna see where the story goes.
am i the only one that suddenly gets disconnected randomly since the last patch?
I can confirm I don’t have this issue…

“Genius” in asura society seems to be a title for reaching a certain level of accomplishment and recognition. You could consider it to be equivalent to a PhD. (Snaff refers to Zojja as a genius-in-training, and their relationship could be seen as analogous to a professor supervising a research student.)
Which is a misuse of the term according to its standard English definition, but keep in mind that the asura see themselves as smarter than other races (YMMV on whether they actually are, or whether it’s just that they have a better education system and that results in them being more knowledgeable) – so clearly any asura that reaches that level of accomplishment must be a genius by the standards of the wider population of Tyria.
If being a genius is just a title then it’s a pretty “Normal” or “basic” title for the lack of better words. To be honest, that title sounds more like “Highschool diploma” equivalence not PhD because Highschool diploma everyone can get but PdD not many people get. So considering everybody in Asura society is a genius, that title would mean “Hey I just graduated highschool!” and bragging about it… It’s not even a degree man! That’s just my opinion anyways.
Mentors Unite [MU] is a new guild based on North American Server designed for veterans, to come together and help each other pass down information and assistance to those who are new to the game outside guild. Think of this guild like a Live Support Team who are helping each other teach newbies across all servers/maps.
We will have big events that would spread our team across ALL Maps in GW2, and we will rotate maps and advertise assistance to all who need it in map chat! If you lack knowledge on some areas don’t worry, just ask our guild and someone with that knowledge will pass that down to you so that you can answer that question by teaching them through interaction.
We will have a Discord server at works for those who prefer to support newbies directly though voice chat. =) If you’re interested to join please add me to your contact and leave me a message in game!
You can add me by opening the Contact Menu in GW2 by pressing the [Y] Key on your keyboard. Then on the [Add/Search] bar you can copy/paste this there: DreamyAbaddon.3265
If I’m online it should show up green but if I’m not it won’t. Either way leave me a message if you’re interested to join my so called “Organization” and let’s see where this goes from there. =) Thank you for your interest to help make newbs great again!
Disclaimers: You will not get paid for your service. This organization is for those who enjoy teaching or want to practice their teaching skills and want to help newbies get better.

Would we ever get a true genius Asuran character? One that doesn’t praise himself/herself for being a genius? One that just acts on it while others praise him/her?
We had one…his name was Snaff. RIP
I mean one that’s alive and in game for our story. =)
Snaff is only present in the GW2 Novel.
Being a genius is being smarter than most people in the society we live in.
If everybody was a genius in Asura Society then nobody is a genius in Asura Society since being a genius would be considered “Normal”. So you’re not a genius, you’re just “Normal” like all the other Asuras. Sure we all are different, think different, we all know science and tech stuff but that only means you’re normal since the word genius is now just normalize and carries little to no value in Asuran society.
Let me give you a real life example:
An autistic guy can behavior disorder of some kind, but be a living calculator. I mean this guy can calculate ANYTHING and even BEYOND what a Super Computer can all in his Head… We call these people savant. They are freakin Awesome and have real value at what they excel at. Normal people can’t do what they can so they are really by definition, a genius!!! Probably at that one subject. But you don’t have to be a savant to be a genius, you can have normal traits and still outsmart most people and excel at it beyond what’s considered normal.
But from my understanding on what it means to be a genius, is that you need to be smarter than the average Asura, you need to go above and beyond what any Asura can do and achieve.
Oh and a real genius, doesn’t consider himself/herself as a genius. He or she acts on it and others see the results.
If Tiami shared her findings with other Asuras I’m pretty sure all Asuras would find tons of viable solutions even if the solutions are all different. I guess this is what bothers me when it comes to Asura society.
Would we ever get a true genius Asuran character? One that doesn’t praise himself/herself for being a genius? One that just acts on it while others praise him/her?
I like to know your thoughts. =)

Hey guys \o/
Alright, I have limited to no knowledge of pc components and such but I want a new and improved pc to run the game on ultra at decent fps. I Grew tired of my 20 fps at medium. After a bit of searching around and reading I have decided to build my own. I would like some feedback on the setup i’ve made here : (http://pcpartpicker.com/list/ndGfd6)Would this be enough to run smoothly? Should I do anything differently? Will everything fit? Any concerns/alternatives with certain parts? I would really like to stick around that price range! Any feedback or info would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Hey I love helping people with PC stuff.
If you havn’t yet bought or build a PC yet, I’d be happy to give you some knowledge on how you can build one and how to properly shop for parts knowing what they do so that you can better judge the parts you pick on your own if thats what you want.
If you’re interested to learn and able to voice chat add me on skype and let’s talk.

I try to help this guy in game. And appearently I was too “Friendly” and got blocked the next day after spending hours helping him learn the basics. I feel I should call this one out. I don’t understand the logic and reasoning behind blocking people who help you in game. Talk about not being appreciated.
Anyways I play GW2 on controller and it works fine for me.

Primordus Fire dragon melts Jormag the ice dragon, killing it, but then the water of Jormag puts out the fire of Primorud, killing it too, only to make Bubbles “S” the elder dragon of water more powerful… then the 3rd Expansion pack happens next: “GW2 Heart of the Sea”
What are your theories?
Screen shot please. I wanna see =)
Do we really have to wait 2 months for the 3rd Episode?
I had so much fun with Episode 2 story but it was too short! =(
Will episode 3 be released sooner?
I really enjoyed the story!
I liked everything about this episode, however, Hearts where one thing I dislike the most.
I do not enjoy them and I try to avoid them just like I do in Core of Tyria because I prefer dynamic events while exploring..
As for the Story itself, I wish it was longer. To wait 2 months to see what happens next is killing me… Why? Because I ENJOY IT… That’s why! I want MORE Of IT! lol
I loved how easy it was to get the new mastery (Exp wise) it reminded me of vanilla GW2 when I was just starting to level my char for the first time. I think the main reason why I felt that way is because of how much exp I get and how fast I get it which makes me feel like I’m progressing. It was not grindy which I find excellent!
I love the new baby dragon! Finally we got to see the egg hatched after so long. I have always wondered what happened to the egg.
I don’t trust Mursaat…
Do we really have to wait another 2 months to play next story episode? =(
If I wanted a game that artificially slows down the story progression I wouldn’t be playing GW2…
The prefer the story to not be gated by masteries. I enjoy them and would like to beat them at my own pace. If I finish it too fast then the content is lacking. But to slow down the progression by artificial means rather than increase quantity and quality is just cheapens the Guild Wars brand in my opinion and I would most likely quit the game if that becomes the trend. I get annoyed having to stop doing the story content I enjoy to do something else I don’t want to do, even if that something else was designed to be fun to do, the fact that I had to stop my story just to do it would kill it for me… It’s like having to go to a site but so many pop ups happen and instead of enjoying the content of the site, you have to close the pop-up advertizments that get in the way which would leave you with 2 options: Quit or continue the annoyance just to enjoy the content the site provides.
I want to enjoy the content I choose to play, not be told I should stop to do something else to slow down my enjoyment of content I am consuming. I can play other games non-MMO if that comes to be the case. That’s my take on it.
tldr: I disagree with OP… Don’t cheapen the Guild Wars brand with artificial content gating… Just add higher quantity and quality content that would keep our interest.
I just miss the original aura effects like Fire Shield, Ice Shield and such looking bad kitten . Oh and the Skill5 on Dagger/Dagger Elemenetalist when you shoot out a huge earth quick BANG right at the end.. =(
It’s the “Link program” option that’s causing troubles is my guess.

Here is a collection of posts from Anet about display names and why it is not likely to be changed unless it meets strict criteria.
Anet usually only offers display name changes in the event the display name compromises your privacy, (example using real name or email address), or if the name violates the GW2 naming policy. The links below go to posts from Anet staff regarding this issue.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Name-Questions-Please-read-merged/first#post2087181

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Name-Questions-Please-read-merged/page/4#post5498462From the last link above that explains that display name changes can cause problems.
Long story short is that display names weren’t designed in a way that allows them to be changed without causing a potential (and significant) batch of problems on the account so we (support) only do them when we reeeeally need to.
Lucky me that I got my display name changed before all this. lol
When I played GW2 durring beta, I didn’t like my Display name and request to change it to DreamyAbaddon. ArenaNet has changed it for me on launch day so the answer is yes for me but that was long time ago.

For a long time, I was too focused on making gold to get the legendary, ascended, or AR boosts. I realized that it was ruining the game for me, because I had to always be maximizing my effort somewhere. I’ve never even used any of the 70+ boosts I have in the bank because it never seems to be a good time.
So, I made some changes. I stopped worrying about farming or finding the best recipe to craft for gold.
I began to realize that a lot of the grouchiness in LA was from the people stuck where I was, questing to be ultimate.
Now I just do what I want to try. I still farm when I’m lazy. Bloodstone Fen is a nice new very busy zone. I map on alts. Do some fractals or dungeons with guild. Level in WvW for reward and points to use toward HP on alts. Help random people while mapping. One day I crafted an exotic wep for a stranger because they were so polite and I saw, based on AP, that they were new.
I still made my ascended gear for my main. Except for the weapons, I’m not sure it was really worth the cost. It’s only necessary for high level fractals that I hope to try someday.
Think of other players as friends you haven’t met instead of competitors.
+1, this is what playing mmorpg should be about.
+1 I second that! =D
I agree with Vayne.8563
I do not want this game to turn out like another generic MMO.
I really dislike these suggestions the OP is making. This game would be less fun for me if those changes did occur and I would have no other MMO to turn to since there isn’t another game modern MMO like GW2 in the market.
Also I agree with Inculpatus cedo.9234 – That “if no one posts their disagreement with a suggestion, then, perhaps, ArenaNet would feel that’s what the playerbase desired.”
There is nothing wrong posting your disagreement with a suggestion thread. We all have a voice here and it’s better to be heard than to be silence.
I don’t see how this is a big deal…
All this does is add diversity to the game.
GW2 combat system is based on 3 combat mechanics: Damage/Control/Support.
Every class has the responsibility to deal Damage while taking Control and Supporting themselves when they need too during actual combat. During group plays you need to coordinate Control with your team while Supporting each other as you contribute in dealing Damage while Moving and Dodging from incoming attack. The lack of trinity is what I like about this game. If you miss Tanking, you should play another game with a Tank class and come back to GW2 whenever you want to play something different again.
=) Good luck.
I played GW2 on Xbox controller since beta using Xpadder…
I personally prefer NOT having a native controller support because I dont want them to screw up my control scheme that I have going already.
I think what he means is “Why can’t I unlock the skills I want by using the weapon of my choice? How come my skills are level locked instead?”
I wish I knew why ArenaNet changed this but I dont =(

To all those saying “it was really easy, what’s wrong with you?” – apparently you are just an awesome player since other people are having problems. Don’t hurt yourself patting yourself on the back like that.
I agree – I HATE this fight.
Or maybe we just know the basic combat mechanics and build making and not just spamming skills and facerolling?
I have made a guide on how to improve in combat and make builds so if anyone is struggling go check it out and learn something. I hope this helps:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/GW2-Combat-system-101-Guide/first
When can we continue the story for LS3 Episode 2?
The first episode was short and I really was hoping for more for how long they made us wait after the release of HoT… =(
Season 3, Episode 1 is NOT solo unfriendly…
I easily soloed it and had no issues with any of the classes.
You really need to just learn how to play, get better at moving and dodging and part of the fun is learning the boss mechanics. Just face-rolling an NPC like normal mobs is boring in my honest opinion. I hope ArenaNet does not nerf this episode and I hope more interesting and weird boss mechanics get introduced that make you think.
I want to play Season3 now and it’s 3:20am July26 in California! =(
ArenaNet please consider supporting PokemonGO for GW2 so we can explore Tyria and find Pokemon while exploring and doing Jumping Puzzles and such!
It would be nice to catch a Charizard in the Citidal of Flame dungeon.
Thank you! <3

Japanese isnt a supported language. That’s probably why it doesnt work.
But it is…. It just doesnt show up on chat log yet I can type it but shows up blank =(
Hey ArenaNet! How come Japanese Kana still doesn’t work in the chat log in GW2?
It works fine in GW1…. I like to practice my Japanese with friends while gaming. It would enhance my gaming experience by a lot. >_> Please I dont know chinese and I cant play the China GW2 version because they dont speak Japanese and my friends are in NA server.
Thanks!
