the strongest Mesmer weapon is really in my opinion how you as the player utilizes the options to maximize it’s up-time / dps.

if just literally dummy testing and no variables then iwarden, a moving target, iswordsman. just my 2cents.

I don’t have a major problem with this but it is pretty obvious when a clone hits a rabbit, its not the real mesmer would be nice to have it changed so it doesn’t attack ambient animals, however it is very hand in 1vX’s when it attacks any aggro’d mobs and holds them at bay for a bit, not that there tough to kite, mind you.

however i don’t think this is a bug, would just be a Quality of life change as its always worked this way.

Talent system and XP rework – should of been in release, it shipped WITHOUT talent tree’s for some classes, at all, xp was an afterthought, a simple thing to change.

PvP BGs – was stated to be in at release but wasnt, again this was obviously not finished but mostly done, a new map being released (or has it bee?) for MoP latley has been in the game files since alpha, just never activated, also PvP Battlegrounds where added close to 1year AFTER launch, think you have your timescales wrong on this one.

the two dungeons again where in the data files but never finished and the 40man raid shipped with unplayable bugs for a whole month and a half.

Rose tintes glasses i think (or read a fanboy article) now Arenanet has done a fantastic job so far and i really wouldn’t knock it, its free, its frequent, it’s ambitious.

unless you just have the ’’oldschool’’ look turned on as you can do that…

you forget that WoW had a 8month dry spell of NO content whatsoever both before Cataclysm and MoP came out, GW2 wont get that dry spell with there current game model.

i would prefer small, frequent, fun and interesting updates that move the game forward (hello living story!) than a bunch of content then a 3month dry spell then a big patch then a 3 month spell then a patch then a month then a patch then a year then an expansion.

we should have ‘’chaos speed’’ signet OoC you have a 25% increase like every other class while an animation that leaves a trail of butterflies behind you

in addition to what Alchemist said you can also lay down choas field to ruin SR, depending on what you have up / prefer and if you want to use or not use a swap etc.

Starting form the top;

a ’’permatealthed’’ thief will create no trouble for you if he is just heading in, hitting, going out in a small group you can basically ignore him until he makes a mistake and you catch him or with the SR counters me and alchemist just said (they need to stay in SR until it goes down to keep stealth), you can also if you run greatsword use the pushback to push him our of SR.

the risk for theifs is being caught, give anyone a chance to burst them and you will get them on the run or down them and as a mesmer you have a lot of tools to counter everything, if the thief is just spamming heartseeker just get retaliation up via focus and ignore him, he’ll kill himself.

our uses ? i cant believe that your serious, we can still break up zergs, Null field / feedback / focus reflections i wont go on but we have options good players and as your in T1 im sure you have a few would of stopped and moved out of these anyway and failed to break up that zerg, anyone who stands and spams deserves to get downed in my book.

what we can do in roaming? we can solo fully upgraded towers if given enough time you in T1 so i doubt you will get enough time but you can always give it a go, we can take camps like every other class, disrupt supply lines, cloak dolyaks, we can certainly deal with a ’’permastealthed’’ thief once you see them stealth lay down a chaos field or use the focus pull, you’ll get them out the’ll be revealed now run them off or down them.

bottom line is pretty much: a permstealthed thief wont be harming you just watch your back. (once he shows, show him who’s boss).

i have said it before in these forums, and i’ll say it again, i am NO thief (im a mesmer) stealth is NOT broken, its there core mechanic, hell by this logic guardian boons, clones, engineer kits, ranger pets/and or killing them twice and necro pets are also broken

p.s. thiefs are not #1 you obviously have never met a well played bunker ranger, every class in this game can be beat by another spec there is no ‘’spec this to rule them all’’ p.s.s. a well played D/D ele (even after movement nerfs) there stil very hard to catch and kill.

why bother buying a ’’legendary’’ stat stick with no advantages except skins and animations, i prefer the fractal weapons however that’s juts my opinion, in the end i would prefer every dye instead of a legendary.

I am to be honest expecting a slightly underwater dungeon, either that or some monstrous giant ancient karka corpse, we’ll find out soon enough!

I really wanted the Flower back piece and I got it in two days- it only took me this long because I had very little time to play.

Yeh very well done an awesome event, much faster paced than the build up with MF too, which is great feels like your getting somewhere as apposed to being a sign fixing boy

If by PvP you mean WvW, then go with a thief and don’t waste your time on any other class.

I’m sorry this line is getting old now, there are multiple ways to deal with thief’s and stealth (and i am not talking about the traps).

it’s a tough choice but i would say an elementalist would tip the scales and give you m,ore variety in game play.

that being said a lot of my friends swear by the ranger.

a class’s core mechanic should not ever be penalised, for any reason, end of that’s really all there is too it, hell i’m no thief but anyone can see this.

I wouldn’t give the immortal a try first off, there’s a lot more too it than meets the eye, is a very good build though.

If you want berserker go berserker, really i would advise you to look in this thread (a sticky) lists a lot of builds available to us and all come with guides and what to aim for gear wise etc (most are updated to current patches as well).

Good start to be a Mesmer is people helping out everywhere I turn.

as mesmer we are very lucky to have such a good community on the forums, a good example is last patch we had our confusion hit real hard (a conditon/curse) which looked to anhilate a lot of builds however after around 3-5 threads of ’’’the heavens are falling’’ the following pages where theory crafting, build testing and before you new it we had another set of new builds up.

i thought they said these living stories -can- change the world in permanent ways you might find we just haven’t really finished them all off, we we only went into level 1 of the mine before destroying it, never know.

or maybe just left in by accident, though i would imagine it would be easy to remove ‘’living.story.v1 events’’ script lines or something.

thats because there’s various modes on DXstory, it works a charm, but yeh best thing is a capture card as everyone else has said but they can be pricey.

No it is not, DXtory is better than fraps lags less and can choose (and add) loads of different codecs as well as match every setting to the settings best for your computer / game and can save all of games top different template settings.

you can also use DXstory to stream via xpplit etc which also works faster.

switch to off hand axe for Mesmers, 9/10 they reflect everything at them selves as most ranger are GS/SB (LB) at least on our server (i play a mesmer and see most mesmers do this all the time)

i would say Asura however i have never tried a human and am stuck between a Charr / Asura ranger for one of my alts, now i have to try human.

for now : Asura, nothing better than a Yoda on steroids on the battlefield.

hmmmm servers i have played on personally have all been packed to the rafters with players everywhere.

i like to put a portal round one side of the island, run to the other and lay it down, quite funny.

argh it is possible, just reset the story, logical and quick just keep your level 80 status, that’s all that’s needed, everything else (apart from gear, inventory etc) can be deleted (and maybe world completion)

hmm i dont think Hardcore would suit this game at all, no harm in having the option however all you would get on the hardcore forums is;

1) lag killed me
2) lag killed me
3) lag killed me
4) i was not even standing in that
5) this boss is impossible, please nerf (where elsewhere in normal mode it is fine)
6) lag killed me
7) Anets server restart, patching killed me
8) you killed hardcore with this lag
9) you killed hardcore with this lag
10) i wasted all my time on this mode to be killed by lag, wtf, restore my characeter.
11) enable character move to a normal realm?

Anet have said that currently there is no plans and they do not even know if it is possible as with the personal story and starting zone differences in each story to pull off.

so no at the moment no plans, your safe to delete and remake.

personally: i think they will add them sooner rather than later and also believe it will not be difficult to pull off, a piece of code that re-rolls your character through the whole making process but keeps you at maximum level (80) is not too hard to do.

sure you’ll have to do your personal story again – without rewards (as you had already done this on that character).

2 #2 but replace the shoulders need to be changed in my opinion, try a melandru pair, there not that exciting but your collour scheme should look nice on them, also try the Arah pair, i see very few asura’s with arah shoulders but i think they look bad kitten

Bragging rights, “look at me”, “I gotz more moneyz than you” , ego or simply plain old forgetfulness…. why does it even make a difference to you anyway.

Alot of guilds use them so the whole guild or multiple groups know where the pack leader is heading.

it’s used as organisation but yes some people do use it as bragging rights, those people however generally do not have a clue.

you as everyone else has said don’t even need to do this to get the achieve done.

Unlike WoW you are not pigeon holed into and shafted with whatever way you choose to go.

- when i hit 80 i had 180k Karma saved up so bought more or less a full set from the temples, they have a wide selection of choice cost around 42k per piece and are exotic.

now with all the stuff you will be salvaging you can get LOTS of gold from ecto’s, if your planning on making a legendary however save them. ALWAYS compare costs from the particular rare / exotic you find against ecto’s, i seem to get a lot of ectos but the peice of armor might go for 1-5g depending on the piece so might not be worth salvaging.

in all honesty i would say buy whatever you can form temples and jump right into WvW you will find there is not a massive difference between fully geared players and under-geared players, the majority i meet roaming around don’t have much of a clue anyway the rare few that do provide an awesome fight (i’m not geared out yet about 4 pieces to go)

Seriously though DON’T rush this is not WoW and wont be left behind after a 2week holiday.

P.S. to gain gold quickly, unless you again plan to craft a lot clear out everything from your collectible tab you will be amazed at the wealth you’ll amass from the junk.

as for your question Nomad, no idea if this is the thread you wanted something answered in? however the best roamer at the moment i would say is a Melee Health Regeneration Ranger, under played class but its getting a come back with this latest patch.

Thief, Mesmer, Ele can all be awesome roamers a well played mesmer mind i would say would be best, you can 1v6 if your wary and good enough and solo an upgraded tower (video evidence of this).

I beleive he means Guild Wars 2 players if he does then the well known mesmers are;

there’s a bunch more but generally there the biggest name if you ask me for the mesmer, Kylia and Pyro have a podcast too, together 1-3 episodes a week depending on what happens with the game, there game time etc.

thief i can think of Yishis and as for the others i cant really say.

Thief. Everything else is just too slow, and no other class gives me the feeling that I have to actually try or else I’m ettin food. That and the combat is far more rewarding to pull off than any other class.

I have a thief relativley high and i can definatly agree with this however the mesmer (my main) has a noticable skill floor too, once everything starts clicking gets so much better.

if i was anet i would release a patch with the message ‘’around 10minutes 32 seconds and 1 milisecond until an update patch is ready’’

i buy mine with my laurels, ha. made upwards of 180g doing that so far (yes i am lucky)

How do you find small groups in WvW? All I ever see is singles running to a zerg and zergs.

personally i gather a few roamers or a few guild people and get a small group that way.

make thief class abilities immune to the stealth traps, have it work on the MASS invisibility and such from mesmers (or Thief’s combo field?) when MULTIPLE people are in it.

Having stealth traps effect the very design of a class (thief) is a joke, its like an anti chaos/glamour/clone trap which makes mesmer literally blue butterfly’s, or maybe have healing rip traps which strip the funny absurd healing from guardians and a weapon ripping trap that works on warriors?

i’m no thief, im a mesmer but these traps cannot effect the thief’s class design, its wrong.

EDIT: we will; have to see exactly how these work, if it works mainly in and around towers etc where there is usually a zerg, fair enough stealth is not too much use in these situations, and do they have to be detonated?

traps could be awesome if done right.

the only gripe i have with thief’s is the build (which i think is signet based?) can literally two shot people having said that i think the thief as a whole is fine and in a pretty good spot, sure annoying to catch but it can defiantly be done.

any thief worth there salt though, no matter the spec will give you trouble, and rightly so, what good or fun would it be if they didn’t?!

and a mesmer comes along and strips it from you and most of the other classes too, or better yet a mesmer steals it form you

on a side note: this will defiantly get fixed i don’t think this is intended.

you can ’’blink’’ up ledges with it, just aim at the person/direction you want then start ressing yourself.

I would imagine they would create new similar skins, hopefully though the’ll come back i would really like the GS skin and dont really want to buy it from the TP.

as for the other races yeh i dont like it on them at all.

most mesmers will dodge or run or use something other than a basic attack so just look around, if someone strafes that’s the mesmer, etc.

has been lots of reports since the last patch about lots of lag from various sources, no one knows what or why yet unless ive missed something.

it’s a seceret.
