How are the flames green??
I know right? Wasnt aware you could change the flame colour, or perhaps its a different set entirely.
I dreamed of a set like this with ghastly green flames for my necro, please tell me I can have this!
Just tested this spec its the bomb, I altered the spec a bit but the result is virtually the same, sometimes terror even ticks 3 times. The terror ticks are nasty lol, ticking for 1282, thank you for this man it made my necro fun again!

Agreed, I cant think of a better current or up and comming mmo to date. Perfect balance of pve and pvp (pvp being spvp and wvw). Every mmo I have played befor this could not achieve this balance, having pve or pvp tacked on the end.
Love their approach on gear, how there are many ways to earn it and how they introduce new levels of gear 1 piece at a time so everyone can progress slowly together.
Also the smoothest mmo release ive experienced to date, I’m in for the long haul and I anticipate a bright future with the success this game has received.

Blues and greens appear in the chests as well.
Yeah, hopefully the game will move beyond the flower and rainbow phase in Legendary designs.
I can only pray. Very dissapointed in that the majority of weapons are lol cutsey giggle fest.
No, I want new serious skins, a deathly staff for necro etc…
Kittening anet, get a grip! Stop kittening nerfing kitten and get some kittining balls!
Thanks a kitten ton anet, from someone who enjoyed spirit weapon build.
You think nerf nerf nerfing everybody is gonna keep players, you got another thing comming.

Im furious that I cannot work on my legendary/make gold in the only aspect of the game I really enjoy, wvwvw.
Mmos always cater to the casuals and pvers first, and with the most resources now a days. Where is the money in creating content for 1 tenth of the population?
Sad but true.

Sick of legendarys? Im sick of not having a legendary!
They are more epic then any weapon I have seen in any mmorpg or rpg in general. Seeing them reminds me of how much I want one, and continues to drive me towards my juggernaut despite the massive effort.

If you have a Guardian that’s a very easy Fractal (and one of my favorites due to being easy) I only got to level 24 so not sure if it gets hard after that.
He said its rediculously hard at and after lvl 20.
Its most deffinitly not hard, im lvl 25 now and have always completed this instance, and im always playing with pugs :S ive been getting this instance almost every lvl.
In fact, this is one of the instances we pray to have because it rewards a second chest and its one of the faster instances to clear. You justvjad a bad luck strike, as I havnt had a group break up over this boss yet.
Honestly, you must be comming across some seriously unskilled players if your failing to even get past the very first and second portions of this instance.

Correct me if im wrong but, dont all races story’s eventually connect to one path, fighting dragons and slaying undead? Ive only ever been as far as lvl 65 in story but I cant recall ever doing any quests that were race specific past lvl 30 or so. If not then I imagen it would be fairly easy to implement a race change that you could only buy/use when youve completed your story past the point where you dont deal with race any more. Youd only have to manipulate code dealing with a players race instead of race and race specific story content.
The other problem lies in dealing with cultural armor and weapons, this one is tricky. What can you do other then delete it in the process or convert them with a system that searches through bank, inventory and hero tab to find cultural equipment. Perhaps have a window where you can place all cultural equipment in to convert it, but then what happens to the items you leave out, they would have to stop you from being able to equip it.
Id like to see less rainbows and more “ima serious badkitten motherkitten” skins. I dream of one day being able to make class specific legendaries, a black as night staff dripping ghastly green flames for necro that shrowd him/her in dark shadows.
Dreaming aside, just make some serious skins, also some dark skins for those evil driven roleplayers and dark magic classes.
Now just give me a quaggenmancer and were set!
Guardian is like the Dervish of GW1.
Always a buff, never a nerf.Man I loved that class.
What are you smoking, guardian has only been recieving nerfs and no buffs.
If they even think of touching our greatsword/hammer skills im quitting the class, and there isnt another class I enjoy

Item sinks are extremely necessary in any game economy, as new items keep coming, the old ons are taken out of the market and from player’s possession, keeping demand up and inflation down.
This is one of such item sinks. It destroys 3 items to get you one.
Any other mmo ive played had strong economy and you get to to keep all the items youve earned and still have a custom appearance. Its not a matter of upgrading, its a matter of collecting.
The main problem here is that youll have players taking advantage of this to look like other classes. For instance in wvw and pvp, a small guild group could all be different classes, but they could all look the exact same(robes for example), how are you suppose to anticipate their attacks? They could all look like mesmers with greatsword yet they are all really warriors and guardians.
Devs typically see this as a problem, another example was warhammer online, where you could custimize your appearance, but only your allies can see it. The enemy realm only sees the real appearance of the armor, otherwise high elves could technically dress up like dark elves and so on.
I was pretty fond of the appearance system in Everquest 2. You simply have “appearance slots”, where you can equip any armor you normally could. No stats would be applied, only appearance overriding.
This is how it was in warhammer online, simple yet perfect. I’m ok with using transmutation stones, just hate throwing an item away.
You don’t break any of them… you merge the two things. It makes sense to me tbh, and I am completely unbothered by it.
Yes you only get to keep one of the appearances and stats when transmuting, thus losing one of the desired weapon appearance, could also refer to it as breaking, merging would mean the stats from both weapons are added together.
I just think destroying part of a hard earned weapon/armor is a bad way to handle appearance changing.
(edited by Edenwolf.6328)
No, will only cause greifing and elitisism.
(edited by Edenwolf.6328)
Its a real bumber to throw away your hard earned weapon or armor simply because you want a change of flavor. I want to transmute the priory greatsword skin onto my AC greatsword, without having to destroy it as i like the AC appearance too.
I cant come up with any valid reason off the top of my head as to why the item has to be destroyed in the process, it takes away from the collecting aspect of the game. I dont think its reasonable to have to buy two or more of every spec/stat type my char wants to wear just so I can have diff apearances.
If anyone can come up with some valid points as to why the item must be destroyed in the process do share.
I cant believe the need to nerf aoe in this game, there are red rings which are easily visible and a dodge roll mechanic, im sick of the whiners and bad pvpers taking over every pvp game. Anet you said once that you wouldnt comply to the whining, guess that philosophy has gone out the window.

I am so sick of risen, a cuss outloud everytime I trip over one in orr and cuss in my head when I get to the point in my characters story’s where undead are in every mission(fairly early).
What are you smoking? The shield has amazing effects, the pages on tomb turn, blue shimmering stuff around the tomb, some more blue glow and a pulsing aigis effect. I was literally in awe when i saw this shield and its now on my legendairy to do list for my guardian.
I tried to pull final ac path 3 boss and my entire guild laughed at me in vent when not a single orb hit it for a solid minute XD. They then proceded to say “ok your right, the auto attack blows.”
Longbow for guardian, long rang power option for necro.
I agree, been waiting a long time for a ranged power build, staff auto attack doesnt cut it. Our only power options are axe and dagger, everything else is hybrid.
Been doing a lot of high level dungeons the past month and it’s been getting quite bothersome to have to do these regularly. At times it can take 30 minutes to an hour just to coordinate with players on different servers on completing these events to get into the dungeon.
I cant come with a resonable excuse as to why we need to waste time doing these, if any of you can, feel free to state why or any other opinions on the matter.
Does armor reduce damage from all attacks(besides condition) including magical missiles and such, a fireball for example?
I would assume your talking about the basic attacks from eles etc. My guess is yes. Its the conditions those attacks apply that will ignore your toughness stat.
I’m talking about all magic based attacks. In other games magic attacks are treated differently from physical damage.
Does armor reduce damage from all attacks(besides condition) including magical missiles and such, a fireball for example?
I don’t know what to say to this, I have melee assist on and my auto attacks hit as high as 3.5k and I’ve seen whirling wrath hit for 7.5k in spvp, even a little out of range of the tip of my sword. I’ve never had to “stand within someone” for this ability to hit hard.
(edited by Edenwolf.6328)
I love the idea of having an Executioner-style two handed Axe for my Power Necro. MMmmmmmmmm……
I know the thought is so delicious!
Give necros battleaxe, make auto attack cleave, win.
Na torch is not the worst, I’ve hit for 6k on zealots flame, skill five is interesting too as it cures conditions on allies.
Are you talking PvE or PvP? PvP they changed it to only last 3s, but in PvE it’s 5s.
I’m talking about pvp, that’s where I want to use it most. 3 seconds on 30 second cooldown is bizzar. I can’t believe this skill was brought down from 5 to 3, really?! 2 seconds longer was op?
(edited by Edenwolf.6328)
Count me in +1. I hate having to pick this up it’s utterly garbage.
The protection buff is now only 3 and a have seconds long WITH 20% boon duration, but still has a long cooldown, what the kitten! Now I’m never going to bother with it, anyone else feel the same way?
On a side note, I’d seriously like to see focus number 5 switched with shield five, then I’d actually concider using it.
(edited by Edenwolf.6328)
Because guardian is apparently meant to be a “frontline fighter that does maximum damage at close range,” meaning our scepter was meant to be a close range weapons(the only way to get it to hit is standing on top of someone).
I want banners on my back very badly but I think it would be OP to have all 4 banners on your back, plus how would that look? The whole point of target selected banners is that you have to be close to get the benefit, having them all on your back would make you a walking perma boonmancer. I think having 2 banner on your back would be plausable and balanced.
He straight up said “the new build will be going live sometime tomorrow.”
Lamesauce, now I won’t be able to test it out until Sunday afternoon
That was yesterday.
Ah yes, I see now that they use army time for these posts, his post was at 01:20, not at 1:20 pm.

I discovered a great group utility/support build last night in spvp. I was interested in seeing what the warrior healing was capable of and I was pleasently surprised.
I went with the shouts heal build, and stacked my utility bar with low cooldown shouts, highest cooldown is around 20 seconds, these shouts were healing for 1500 a pop( just from 300 healing bonus from the skill tree). The three shouts I chose were, an aoe might and fury buff, an aoe cleanse and a 10% vulnerability debuff. I chose to use the war banner for my elite as it pulses more aoe boons as well as revives downed allies when you summon it, when used correctly with your shout heals, this combo can turn tides.
For weapon choices, I like to have lots of cc to interupt heals and generally assist my allies with targets, also, I’m specced so that anytime I cripple, the targets gets 1 second immobilize. My fav combo is axe/shield and mace/mace(amazing cc and damage), but you could sub out maces for most other weapons with good cc.
For stats I’m sitting around 27k hp with the runes that grant toughness/vitality/cure conditions on shout, and a 300 bonus from spec tree. For the amulet I chose berserker so I can lay down some decent damage when necessary(5000ish eviscerate crits, 3500 mace auto attacks).
My final thought on the build:
I’ve played a support guardian to 80 befor I started my warrior and I have to say, from my experience, warrior can pump out more heals and more often, about 4500 from warrior on 20 second cooldown opposed to 2000 on 90 second cooldown(not including weapon skills). The cc warrior can bring to the table also impresses me and with my ability to clense on command, and the defencive ability from shield(my trait gives shield 90 bonus toughness and shorter cooldowns) my warrior can stay in the fight for long periods of time. Even if healing isn’t your thing, a banner spec also brings a lot to small scale fights.
I too once thought warrior had no defencive/support/heal build, but after toying with this build, I was pleasently surprised and wont look back at gaurdian again. To say warrior has no utility/healing is a misconception, as Ive had impressive results.

Stacking 4 seconds of root on every hit isn’t possible but keeping you rooted for more the 4 seconds is. Other classes can easily do this as well though like thief with venoms and ranger with traps and elite skill. The only problem I see here is that if you not specced to remove conditions on the regular, there is no solid way of removing roots in general.
Please state the reasoning behind your opinion.
The entire class mechanic and traits work around atunement swapping, it would be impossible to remove that mechanic with the amount of work involved, changing tactics and the like.
The logic around “I should be able to play any way I like and ignore everything else” will get you killed with any class, your only gimping yourself. Sounds to me like this just a personal roleplay issue. I like to role play myself but not to the extent of ignoring half my class. I don’t expect Anet to change my class based on my role play values, as it’s a personal opinion, it would be impossible to meet everyone’s role play needs.
Weapon swapping in combat is not in the cards for ele, think about it, they have access to 20 weapon abilities as is, you want them to have access to 40 weapon skills? My brain is melting at the thought of managing 40 skills.

I swore I read that warriors were able to use two handed axes in their profile on the gw2 site, so I was under the impression that I could use one during the betas but was severely dissapointed. On the same profile they said warriors had some abilities that they could hold(or charge) and release for my powerful effects, this also didn’t make it live.
But yes yes triple yes to two handed axes in the future, they are my all time fav in all fantasy RPGs. My warriors begs for one
