Mobs not rendering with today's patch.

Thank you for the reports; we’re investigating what could be causing this now!

Culling.

If you’d like to send me a monetary reward for helping you to uncover the issue at hand, please contact me via PM and I will send you my PayPal account email.

I’d also accept employment if you’d pay for my relocation expenses, because I can show you and uncover bugs in this game all day long.

^_o

Problem with blaming it on culling is two-fold.

1) The problem was introduced with the February 26th patch and did not exist prior to that. The changes to culling were introduced in the patch on January 28th.

2) The problem is happening even in areas that are completely devoid of players and/or only have a handful of mobs in them. You might not be able to tell in my screenshots, but there really wasn’t anything particularly interesting happening in those scenes.

I’m sorry if I cost you an interview. :P

I bang out my daily quickly within 15-20 minutes then I move onto other fun stuff I also enjoy.

The first daily of this patch was:

Kill Variety
Aquatic Slayer
Gatherer
Personal Story
Healer
Mystic Forgesmith
Keg Brawl Stealer
Group Event Completer
Mists Invasion Defender

How exactly did you manage to bang out five of those in 15-20 minutes? Because I’m thinking you meant closer to an hour, but if I’m off I’d love to hear your secret.

Going to ask the questions I’d rather not, since I see so many server guests at these events lately.

1) Is the “once per day” limit bypassed by visiting the same event on a different server with the same character?

2) If so, is that intended?

Well I must be the kind of person that dailies are intended for because I enjoy going out of my way to complete them (rather than doing them as I play) and I like them even more now that I have different choices each night. Dailies are a guild activity on most nights and we all enjoy getting together to knock them out. Ooh and I am so excited because the monthly will reset soon I just wish there was a weekly!

I can certainly see this being a welcome addition to the game if I had otherwise run out of entertaining things to do in GW2, which seems to be the case for you and your guild.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective) I have not run out of fun things to do in the game. Not by a longshot. But, unfortunately (definitely, in this case), I am not getting a chance to do those fun things because (as you said) we must now go out of our way to complete the Daily rather than it being completed as we play naturally. Most of my available time online (which, granted, is not a lot) is being tied up with an activity that used to not chew up any of my available time at all, which causes me to dislike the change.

Now, if the rotation always included kill quantity, kill variety, gathering, and normal events together as the available choices, I would not be running into the problem I’m currently having.

It’s not helping that many of these world boss events aren’t even lasting a full 30-60 seconds. I’m not sure what changed in the last patch to cause this but these boss events are being powered through far too easily/quickly. And if you’re not standing there ready to camp it you’ll miss it. And if you are, you still might miss it.

I totally disagree with you. Are you running highest sound quality? I’ve heard the char say maybe 3 different things when activating that skill, apart from refreshing and armored up. Very cool imo, more variation FTW. “Hold the Line!” come up a fair amount of times for me. I prefer it like it is over one line spammed over and over each CD, like other shouts. Same with Warriors, 3 in a group shouting FGJ every 20 sec, kitten that’s annoying.

Yes (sound quality). Which race/gender is your guardian?

I’m not kidding when I say I have only heard either absolute silence, “refreshing!” or “armored up!” while using this skill. I have only heard my character say “Hold the line!” once and once only.

Sounds encouraging if accurate. Eliminating culling is a pretty big claim. I worry because he just talks about seeing other players though, and not being able to see mobs in PvE is a big part of the culling problem as well.

I killed said veteran karka the other day and an NPC popped out but. But beyond a generic comment I couldn’t interact with him. Is it part of a guild mission?

I believe, from what I’ve seen, he may be tied to the bounties.

I’ve heard my male human guardian actually shout the phrase “Hold the line!” (upon using the skill by the same name) exactly ONCE in my entire time playing GW2 since launch, and I use this skill pretty frequently.

Hearing it once is enough to know the voice-over is actually there, and the first time I heard him shout the statement was roughly a month ago. But, for whatever reason, 99.9% of the time I use this skill my Guardian either says nothing, or says “refreshing” or “armored up” (I believe as a result of the accompanying regeneration and protection buff triggered by the “Hold the Line!” skill). Most of the time he says absolutely nothing, though.

Meanwhile, everyone in my group is a chatterbox. It may not seem like a big deal but I feel like the voice over helps players to be aware that I’m actually doing something to help the group beyond just swinging my weapon.

It’s been broken like this since launch. Can you please take a few minutes to check the triggers and maybe fix whatever is causing the voice-over (which I know exists because I heard it!) to fail to play?

I for one don’t mind culling at all on big towns. Previously I couldn’t visit Lion’s Arch without my graphics cards going nuts at all the rendering it has to do.

Actually, I find that with the recent changes, I can’t even see the bank of Lion’s Arch for many moments upon loading in there. I see vendors floating in the air and have to guess as to where the steps and doors are. This is a picture of me standing just outside the bank, looking in (minus the white block where my character is). No walls.. no floors.. eventually it all shows up but it can take a bit.

I’ll just say again what was said earlier: kill quantity, kill variety, gathering quantity, and event quantity should always be part of the daily selection/rotation. Do that, and players at least have the option of making the new Daily very much like the original Daily (all they need to do at that point is choose one additional task), which will greatly minimize the frustration and complaints.

If you listen to many players here, those original choices were a “pain”, so it’s not like there should be any “too easy” balance concerns here. And you could always increase the number of choices available on a given day if there is a concern about those four “core” tasks tying up spots for other choices.

I can’t see why anyone would disagree with this. And the only reason ANet would disagree with this is if they’re determined to force players to play the game the way they (the designers) want them to play. If I want to do daily kills, kill variety, events, and gathering every day.. I should be allowed to. Live and let live. Let me choose to branch out to other choices on my own. Don’t beat me over the head with it every day.

Have to wonder why the game was designed in a way where just being able to see other players causes the game such stress that this is necessary.

It’s not like this is the first MMO that had a lot of people in places. Those MMOs seemed to figure out a way to let me see them normally.

It is odd because some (but not all) MMOs really seem to struggle with this issue. TERA and Final Fantasy XI, for example, have always been plagued with the same culling issues as GW2. And FFXI has been out for 10 years now and hardware and bandwith on the player’s end has improved tremendously since it launched, and yet it can take minutes for the population in a very crowded scene to fully render.

I just want to say this: I chose my server as “home” for a reason, and I have an understandable expectation to play on that server.

Now, while I may not be wild about it, I accept that sometimes I’ll end up in overflow when too many people who also chose the same server as their home are on the same map. But too often now I find myself in overflow because “guests” are crowding the map, and that’s a whole different kind of annoying.

In my opinion these map populations should have a priority system that prioritizes actual residents, with space reserved for server natives and some slots set aside for server guests. I should never end up in overflow on a map on my home server because there are too many guests present.

I don’t think I’m suggesting anything unfair or unreasonable. And to have a map dominated by server guests instead of server residents seems a bit silly.

I had to work on the old dailies and didn’t find them much fun since they were always, always the same. Boring to the core.

..matches this comment:

- group events: troll and rotting oakheart in 5 minutes

Because it sounds like every time you need a group event, you’re going to hunt down the troll and rotting oakheart. How is that not “always, always the same”?

In reality there was nothing that was “always the same” about the original Daily save for the objectives. But you could choose to go anywhere and do anything to accomplish them.

While amusing, the flying Moa bug in Lion’s Arch is probably not related to the topic of the thread. There’s also other threads about it, and I’m concerned discussing it here further will cause confusion regarding the rendering bug being reported here.

Attached is another example of the rendering bug that appeared with the recent patch this week. As shown, the visibility of these two Skale seems to randomly come and go as I make minor adjustments to my camera.

There is actually an entire field of Skale here, including several not far behind these two, all displaying the same problems. Obviously that makes it difficult to find a safe place to stand.

Ello, uber-casual player here (I play 10 hours a week or so).

I like the new dailies. The old ones were boring and were becoming too much of a routine (“go to this area and run this path to complete daily”). I like being pushed outside of my comfort zone and try new things. I like that I can be a little creative in how I’ll solve my dailies.

The problem with your comment is that you always had the option of going outside your comfort zone and trying new things. You did not need a change to the Daily system to do it.

Or, maybe you did, in which case that is a personal problem on your end, and perhaps you can understand why I am not even remotely thrilled to have what I enjoyed doing taken away simply to motivate you into trying new and different things.

This may not be related, but EVERY time I have done the personal story where the bomb maker dies fixing the bomb under the ship, the frame rate is noticeably bad when you first start before going into the water.

I believe the frame rate drop you’re talking about is unrelated, and a result of all the vast density of mines beneath the surface of the water. If you look away from them, or swivel your view in a way that it’s not showing everything but those mines, the frame rate picks right back up.

I don’t really agree with change for the sake of change. And constantly chasing the carrot is what has ultimately made me abandon other MMOs.

The other night after finishing the Daily, a friend of mine asked me what I wanted to do next. My response was “I don’t know.. I don’t really feel like doing anything now, we spent an hour on the Daily and yet I feel like I haven’t accomplished anything”. I just felt logging off. That’s not a fun gameplay design that’s going to keep me around for long.

- You quit because the next step either wasn’t presented or was too far away to reach.

No, like I said, I quit because I got tired of chasing the carrot. Which is why I was very attracted to GW2s originally easy-to-reach end game, which then allowed you to just focus on aesthetic changes.

However, it’s kind of funny when a stranger tries to analyze the reasons why I do things, especially when I know exactly why I do them (seeing as I was the one in that moment, weighing the factors at the time, and coming to a decision).

I quit, WoW, for example, because I was tired of daily tasks that felt more like a chore than fun, which chewed up all the time I wanted to spend doing other things in the game. There were other reasons, but that was one of the big nails in the coffin.

But, we’re going off-topic.

I agree with the original poster. And the worst part is that while all these extra distrations are being added, major elements of the core game are still broken after all this time. Most dynamic events, for example, break down and stop working if the servers have gone more than a day or two between resets (which is, unfortunately, common).

Want to wow us with new and fresh gameplay we haven’t seen before? Start by fixing the dynamic events you already have.

Most dynamic events work flawlessly. I haven’t seen a bugged DE in months.

You can not be serious. Honestly, what is more likely is that most of the same DE’s you happen to be around have been broken, and thus you’re not even aware they exist and are missing in the first place.

It is not at all uncommon for more than a dozen events in any given zone to have become inaccessible due to some sort of bug when the servers have gone for roughly a week without a reset.

I got my daily yesterday by accident. If that isn’t getting it playing the game the way I want to, then I don’t know what is.

I’m not sure if happening to be in the right place at the right time (either purposely or by chance) counts as “getting it playing the game the way I want to”.

Either that, or you like to spend your game time doing fairly specific activities. The difference is that the older Daily tasks were much more generic and thus complimented a larger variety of activities, and so more players were able to complete the Daily “by accident”.

It’s about the way to manage the playerbase. If nothing changed and everything was stagnant, players would just play through the game and then leave for other games. Daily tasks and rewards associated with them are basically incentive for large community to log in every day and do these tasks.

You want the next bigger carrot (currently ascended items) -> you play every day to get it -> community full of players -> successful MMO

It’s part of behavioral psychology. Phenomenon called operant conditioning:

I don’t really agree with change for the sake of change. And constantly chasing the carrot is what has ultimately made me abandon other MMOs.

Or perhaps just put all of the old Daily categories into the “choose your own daily” type (so every day you’d have Gatherer, Kill Variety, Kill Count, and Events) along with a variety of the rotating challenge-type dailys. You’d still need to pick at least 1 challenge type to complete the daily, and there’s a risk of everyone ignoring the challenges and just taking the path of least resistance every day, but… it would at least satisfy most everyone. Doing 1 extra task outside your normal gameplay if you choose to go down that route doesn’t seem like too big a deal.

This is honestly the solution I would most prefer. I would be perfectly happy if Daily Kills, Kill Variety, Events, and Gathering were included every day in the available list to choose from. And then I would just have to choose a fifth task.

The difference between the old Daily and the new Daily is that I used to be able to complete the old one while I was playing. Thus, no matter how much time it took it didn’t take away from my play time. The new, unfortunately, has specific activities that I often have to tackle separately from my normal play. And because its very much its own time-sink now, it’s chewing into my available play time.

While I would love to see a much larger list to choose from, I don’t believe they will ever go this route. The developers seem to be against players spending their time each day playing in their own favorite way. With a huge list to choose from, players would just choose 5 preferred activities and repeat them each day. And while I say “whatever floats your boat”, ArenaNet seems to feel differently.

Using the Daily to shuffle players all around the game world? That sounds very nice, but is hundreds of players descending upon Ascalon with the sole goal of slaying 40 monsters and then racing off really the desired outcome here?

In their minds they likely envision players going to these zones and spending the day there, forgetting about the Daily and becoming involved in the map’s activities. In reality that doesn’t happen. In reality I visit the same location every time “Daily Healer” comes up because I can not afford to just wait and see if it happens naturally through normal play before I run out of time. Because I don’t have time to grab the stuff I’m still missing once my time is up.

Hence the daily chore I have to finish before I actually start playing, if there’s still time left in the end to actually play.

OP;

if, you feel that you cannot complete the daiy in 1h, its because you dont need to finish it yet, you are not at the “casual endgame”.

dailies are the casual player’s endgame.

and those 100+ gold stuff are the hardcore’s endgame (dailies for them is their morning coffee).

Your statement is actually accurate. The Daily Achievement has become an end-game activity for players who have (somehow) run out of things to do (or at least run out of things they desire to do more than a daily set of assignments).

My frustration is that the Daily Achievement originally started out as something that was simple and useful to any player regardless of their progression. Participate in a single event and you were awarded with bonus experience, courtesy of the Daily Achievements. Participate in two more events and you received another bonus, courtesy of the Daily. Participate in yet two more and you received yet another bonus, again courtesy of the Daily. Eventually some coin and a reward or two was tossed your way.

It no longer works that way. With the introduction of the laurel the developers have indeed abandoned the roots of the Daily and created the equivalent of an end-game hoop jumping. And I never said the game shouldn’t have that. But I object to sacrificing a perfectly good system (the original Daily Achievements) to introduce this new system.

When people suggest “don’t do the Daily if you don’t like it!”, I feel like they’re not understanding that players are frustrated because they’ve lost a relatively casual and rewarding activity in this whole process. It’s very much like enjoying a leisure daily walk through a park of your choice, but then suddenly you’re being told that activity is no longer available, and now you must now participate in the circus instead. And if you don’t like the circus, then don’t participate. Well.. that’s cold comfort to the people who enjoyed their leisure daily walk through the park – whether I’m participating in the circus or not I’m still losing out on the activity I actually enjoyed doing.

“clearly we’re talking about two entirely different kinds of Daily designs.”

Right, but yours doesnt exist.

Except it did for most of GW2’s life.

The idea behind the new dailies was to give players reasons to go to zones, and do things they normally wouldnt do. Which is working perfectly.

As I said in the original post, I agree that the new changes to the Daily do exactly that. Which is unfortunate if you’re not looking to be guided away from whatever your plans were that evening.

No daily in any MMO i’ve ever played (and believe you me I have played a lot) has ever been designed around simply being completed during “normal” play.

I disagree with you there, and I don’t know how you can claim that when Guild Wars 2 did, for the majority of its relatively brief existence. These changes to the Daily only started happening.. what, in the past two months?

I’m afraid you’ve completely missed the point, Zenyatoo. In fact, that you’re trying to offer advice on how to “game the system” only reinforces what I’m saying.

With the old Daily I could just go to the zone currently in the line of my travels and play, and the Daily would get finished in the process. But when you start talking about going to specific zones to complete a task, or following a specific pattern to game the system, or spending some form of currency to complete steps in the Daily Achievement.. clearly we’re talking about two entirely different kinds of Daily designs.

What do I want to do in a typical play session? It’s pretty simple.. I go to whatever zone I’m currently working on and play there (and only there) until it’s completed. Participate in events I run across (not purposely seek out), complete heart tasks if there are any, vistas, skill challenges, etc. Pretty normal stuff, actually. I’m not trying to complete all the maps in the world, rather I’m trying to progress an adventure through a particular set of zones I’ve set aside for a particular character. That way, leveling my Norn feels entirely different than leveling my Human. When the Daily starts requiring that I deviate from that plan, I stop having fun with the game.

Now, if the new Daily is your thing.. that’s fantastic. But where did my kind of Daily go? Too bad for me, I guess?

(cont)

The new Daily seems intent on pushing players out of their comfort zone and providing them with a set of out-of-the-ordinary challenges to complete. It really seems aimed at players who have otherwise run out of things to do in GW2, who require a set of instructions given to them every day lest they run out of reasons to log in. And I’m not going to argue that the game can’t have that sort of activity in it. But I am going to ask this: what are you offering now to fill the void that was created by removing the original Daily and the intentions behind it?

My friends and I completed the original Daily Achievements almost every single day, usually without actively trying but always pleasantly surprised when the rewards came in. And while that may sound broken on some level, people need to understand that this was intentional and by design. But now, this newer Daily Achievement has turned into something that seems to consume most of our available play time, leaving little for the actual type of playing we wanted to do. We no longer log in to “play the game”, instead we log in to “work on the Daily”. And, honestly, we’re not finding it very fun.

You have taken a system we got enjoyment out of every day for most of this game’s life and turned it into something we really dislike. Sure, we have the option of not completing the Daily, but until you’re providing more alternate ways to obtain the attached rewards we feel like we have little choice. And even if we didn’t participate in the Daily anymore, the point is we were having fun doing something and now we’re not because you changed it.

So, now you have your system aimed at players without goals and in constant need of guidance, the carrot on the stick to bring them back into the game every day. But in the process you sacrificed a system aimed at rewarding players for just playing their way in the game. And I think you tried to fix that by giving players the options of which Daily tasks to choose from every day, but the problem there is that the choices are really not very generic, and generally not very fun.

Yesterday, my choices were: Kill Variety, Aquatic Slayer, Gatherer, Personal Story, Healer, Mystic Forgesmith, Keg Brawl Stealer, Group Event Completer, Mists Invasion Defender. I was supposed to choose 5 of those. I chose Kill Variety (thankfully generic), Aquatic Slayer (not something I do through typical play, but instead something I have to purposely set out to complete), Gatherer (thankfully generic), Healer (again, not something I do through typical play).. and then I was out of picks I could stomach but still short one task. I didn’t want to switch to an alt and do a step of my Personal Story. I didn’t intend to use the Mystic Forge; I wanted to sell my drops instead. I didn’t want to play Keg Brawl. I didn’t want to WvW. And despite keeping any eye out for them the entire time I played, I didn’t run across any GROUP events, nor did I feel like running to particular zones to track specific ones down (or blowing coin on map travel which I was trying to earn through the Daily). I left last night wondering how the Daily turned from something so simple into something so annoying. The old Daily was aimed at players like me, but this new one is clearly not. And I’d love to know why.

Who are the Daily Achievements intended for?

Edge.4180

The original idea behind the Daily Achievements seemed pretty simple: provide casual players (who don’t have a lot of gaming time) a means of achieving small goals and rewards quickly and easily while simply playing the game normally.

This is why the original Daily (the one that shipped with launch) had extremely generic goals (gather resources, participate in events, kill a number of monsters, kill a variety of different monsters) with multiple tiers (gather 3 resources, gather 10 resources, gather 20 resources) which provided rewards at the end of each stage. This particular setup allowed the average player to complete the Daily through normal open-world PvE activity without actually ever focusing on completing said Daily as a task.

I want to get one thing out of the way here: there’s a difference between “playing the game” and “working on the Daily”. Unless your only interest in this game is completing the Daily every day, the two concepts are not interchangeable. And with the changes to the Daily Achievement system these past few months, the Daily has turned into something players now must actively work on if they want to complete it; an activity players must actively focus on to solve. More akin to a daily challenge now, or daily chores / busywork, a daily timesink, etc.. whatever you want to call it, completing the Daily is no longer something that simply happens through normal play, but instead is now a set of tasks players must purposely set out to complete.

Closer to launch, it could be argued that the average player playing in the open-world kills a number of monsters, kills a variety of monsters, participates in events, and collects resource nodes without doing anything out of the ordinary (which, in turn, satisfied the requirements of the Daily Achievement).

The same can not be said any longer. If I do not, for example, intend to kill 40 mobs in Ascalon or the Shiverpeaks (and I really almost never do) then (assuming I want to complete the Daily) this is something I must purposely set time aside to do that takes away from my otherwise normal play. I do not normally choose to play Keg Brawler, nor do I normally switch to an alt (particularly when I have no desire on a particular day to play them) to complete a stage of a personal story. I don’t normally run around purposely hunting down active group events. I don’t normally step into the mists to kill 10 players. I don’t normally toss 20 items into the Mystic Forge in a given day. I don’t normally run a Fractal. I don’t normally collect 3 skill points, etc. You get the idea.

I’ve looked at some earlier screenshots of mine and compared them to post-yesterday’s patch, and the shoulders appear to be roughly twice the scale as they previously were. It’s the same problem for male humans, Norn, and Asura.

I didn’t have this particular problem prior to yesterdays patch, so something changed on ANet’s end.

It would help developers parse through the hundreds of threads of posts worth of feedback if people would use descriptive, concise thread titles. Thread titles consisting of half sentences (i.e. “I think that…”) or titles that are too vague (i.e. “Skills”) are really not helpful. Those sorts of titles give no indication of what a thread is about, so most readers will simply skip them.

In my opinion, the 45 character limit (including spaces) for thread titles is too short.

I can confirm this. This latest patch made these particular shoulders obnoxiously large (on human males, at least). Was this intentional? It’s hard to believe it was.

Here’s a picture. Same scene. Moas would only render when I put my mouse cursor over them. When I removed my cursor from them they would vanish again (although the wings would remain).

This is not just limited to Moas, by the way. Many different types of mobs were doing it. My friends I was adventuring with were seeing the exact same problem.

Really surprised I’m not seeing a thread on this (I may have missed it) as it’s a new problem with this patch and all of my friends are complaining about it as well.

Many mobs in different areas are not rendering when viewed at certain angles (often, when they’re straight ahead they’re invisible but when closer to the edge of the screen they appear). This includes mobs that are just a handful of feet away.

Some mobs are rendering only in part. For example, two Moas will be standing next to one another, but one of them is only a pair of wings hovering in the air while the rest of the body is invisible. The moa right next to it is rendering fine, though.

Daily achievements more of a grind now?

Would you really rather have the old system than the new one?

Yes, I would rather have the original daily achievements that were easily completed without even focusing on them, rather than the new ones that cause my friends and I to always utter the words “let’s work on getting the daily out of the way” when we log on now, and having it chew up most of our available gaming time.

Kill 15 types of mobs, anywhere.
Kill 60 mobs, anywhere.
Gather 20 resources, anywhere.
Complete 5 events, anywhere.

^ That was the original Daily. What did you find so scary about it?

Then don’t do the daily. No skin off my back.

You can’t be bothered for 10 minutes of your time, so don’t expect ANet to spend 1000s of man hours catering to your every whim at the expense of other players, princess.

If you’re going to make exaggerations, don’t expect anyone to take your post seriously.

If your going to make ridiculous demands of what is ultimately optional content, dont expect anyone, including ArenaNet, to take your posts seriously either.

Laurels = daily exclusive = exclusive gear

cool options bro.

Ridiculous demands? What I was requesting was already in place.

Demanding dailes go against their intended function of spreading the playerbase out into various zones is ridiculous.

You seem to be unaware. The original intended function of the Daily was to provide casual players without a lot of time a way of achieving quick, painless rewards through completely normal play. That was why the original Daily had multiple tiers, and very generic goals.

Someone who could only play 30 minutes or an hour could play the game, without even focusing on completing the Daily and earn rewards for participating in 1 event, 3 total events, and 5 total events. Kill quantity (anywhere), kill variety (anywhere), gathering resources, events.. these were the four purposely generic daily tasks and if you, for example, were a low level character purposely adventuring in a particular zone of your choice you could complete the Daily by accident just by playing normally.

That is why it’s annoying now to have to go to specific locations, or do unusual tasks. Apparently the point of the Daily has changed from its original intentions to a busy-work mechanic. So, what’s actually ridiculous is to suggest it can’t change again when it’s already changed once (for the worse, in my opinion).

What’s very wrong with the comments in this thread is that people are trying to describe the best way to “beat” the Daily, as if it is its own mini-game now. Prior to the Daily revamp the Daily was just something that players finished through their normal session of playing without even realizing they were working on a Daily – and that was intentional and by design. Now we’re supposed to run/map travel to locations we had no intention of going to, or participate in tasks that aren’t necessarily part of our planned normal play. It’s annoying.

I wish the original Daily Achievements had stayed as is, and all of this could have been introduced as some additional system to provide bored players with something to chase after every day. Call it the Daily Carrot.

Any word on clipping?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Edge.4180

I seriously doubt this is going to change and it’s likely that you’re either going to have to live with it or adjust your look to minimize the clipping. There are just too many gear combinations to account for and any changes to one run the risk of creating more new clipping issues than are fixed. As far as I can tell the nodes are generic and they’re not making special cases for certain armors or items.

Fixing a clipping issue with, say, a helmet that clips on the heads of all Charr, sure. Fixing foci that clip with a particular pair of leggings.. not likely to ever happen.

I have Magmaton but its on a female. Sorry

Awesome hammer too. Maybe photoshop to the rescue?

Ha! If only that was all I needed.

The hammer (all weapons, really) scale differently depending on the race (and even the gender) using them. Viewing them on the character’s back is also pointless because the weapon scales differently when held in the character’s hand.

Some hammers, which look fine on the back, are really tiny or really large once held in the character’s hand. Take the same weapon and put it in the hands of a different race and the result can be completely different.

Anyway, that’s why I’m looking for a picture of this particular weapon in a male human’s hands.

Believe it or not, two weeks later I’m still hoping someone can provide a screenshot of a Human Male holding in his hands, not on his back, either the hammer “The Colossus” or “Magmaton”.

When I was young, we used LFG when we are alone looking for a group, and GLF when we were a group looking for players.

Now them kiddies makin’ up new lingos, leaving us oldies behind.

I have to say, I’ve been playing MMOs since Meridian 59 and I don’t ever remember “GLF”.

Actually, what I recall from back in the day was gamers typing whole words out and not relying on abbreviations. :P
