yes, but with HoT almost every aspect of the expansion have bug’s, and they seam to randomly fix them instead of fixing them from the start of the expansion and move along the same path as the natural progression of the game.
SAMO SAMO crap as usual, try to keep the 1% of the players happy and crap on the rest.Compared to some AAA games, HOT looks almost perfect. Bugs will always exist, for every 1 they fix another takes it’s place.
To bad, they must have lost their good programmers from GW1 then, because the 3 chapters together did not even have this many bug’s.
I guess this is what happens when you have more people working on the marketing of the Gem Store than on the game it self.

If you crash at DS just use 64 bit client. Dev respond more often on reddit because people there are not raging mobs who trying to burn down castle Arena net.
Are you saying that Reddit has zero negativity? GW2 Reddit posters never express concerns? Is that it?
And if Reddit is a naturally superior venue for comments and communication, why don’t they simply close down these forums, save the money it costs to moderate it, and use that exclusively?
Reddit does have negativity of course, but there are also positivity. Player help each other, guide, news, shout out, fan art. This place is pages of complaining after complaining, nothing good ever comes out of here.

Disable ALL Hero Points in HoT maps while meta events ar up – seriously, did you ever test impact of HP trains when map becomes full and event goers cant invite those ho will help them?
Disable all Meta events, they are interfering with HP and mastery point’s not to mention personal story.
Currently vale guardian can be done with 3 mins remaining on the clock. The enrage timer should be about 6 mins instead of 8 mins.
Gorseval can be done with 1:30 mins remaining on the clock. Please tighten the timer by 1 mins.
Good for you, now when your done bragging perhaps go back then and help some of those who do have problems understanding the mechanics of the fight.
Or are you and the other few who can do it this fast going to finance the next expansion on your own?
Will you prepurchase next expansion?

I’ve played GW since early 2006 and enjoyed it immensely until HoT, so I’m sorry to say but HoT was probably the last part of the GW games I bought.

And how many Raid’s do need to get the Mastery to even get to the Merchant?
Why exactly are they exclusive to 1-2% of players ? How is it unplayable ? Is it because you expect to just be able to waltz in and 1 shot everything ?
You know the first encounter can be done in 8 minutes right ? So time can’t be the issue.
Ascended armor is definitely not needed, so that can’t be the issue.
I’m having a hard time seeing where this conclusion that only 1-2% of the community can participate came from. Are these factual numbers or just something you decided to throw out there because it suits your weak argument ? From the numbers I’m seeing LFG in map or in the LFG tool + the people outside the portal I’d lean more towards you being part of that 1-2%.
Stop whining and go play the Raids or don’t play them at all, accept that if you do you might actually have to figure out some mechanics.
And for the record anyone with an 80 and exotic gear that has half a clue how to build a character can participate. Your argument holds no water, you are literally whining because you’re not getting your way.

I’m not complaining about the Raid or how it works, I’m saying that those who try to make it out that only HARD CORE players should be able to participate need to change attitude.
Leave Raid’s as it is, but accept that a majority of the players will try to do Raid’s (and by trial and error eventually finish).

Except for pugs that just want to try the raid without any hope of success. But these groups have given up already.
Have to call BS on this one too, your soooooo cheerful it’s heart warming.
The solution sounds simple enough to me. Make a group to do raids that takes in anyone, doesn’t matter what gear they’re wearing, and go do the raids. I bet you’d get lots of people signing up and both you and the gear check people will never encounter each other and both sides will be happy.
Too bad that you won’t get very far with that setup.
BS, give it time and all will clear it, the only thing that is certain is ALL will wipe learning Raids
Not only are we doing gear checks, DPS checks, our raid team will have to send in Age verification, No one under 18 will be taken on our Raid team.
Chew on that one for awhile.
Raid’s aren’t the only part of the game. They’re a very small fraction of the game. I wouldn’t even say the rewards are that high when even the best groups with teamspeak take so many hours trying to beat each raid boss. And regardless how good you become at the raid, you can still only reap the rewards once a week. And that takes a great deal of time and dedication in the first place.
Yada Yada ………………, heard it all before in GW1 when the Deep and Urgoz first opened, first couple of run’s took well over 12 hours with 12 players in well organized guild groups, a month later Pug’s did it in less than 4 hours. All it takes is practice, wipe out after wipe out until you get it.
But the stupid notion that only a very small percentage of the players should be able to do Raid’s needs to stop.
Those who say that Raid’s should be exclusive for only 1-2 % of the player population need to rethink.
if only 1%-2% of the players enter Raids how long do you think it will take for ANET to scrap all plans on new content for Raid’s?
Such a small percentage of the players don’t even pay for the cost of fixing bug’s in the existing Raid.
If such a BIG high reward part of the game is unplayable for the majority it will be hard to sell further extensions, and just do the math, 1-2% of existing players will not pay for the cost of development, not even close.
So the last couple of weeks i have been reading online that the new raid is very difficult and requires ascended gear. When dealing with Pug groups or halfguild/half pug groups. Is there any online armory or something to check peoples gear? or do we just take people word?
What do you want to check, tip of my sword or the edge of the axe?
Tangled Roots Meta event is way too hard

LOL, your complaining about a Meta, wait for Raid’s to come online then you can start complaining about being to hard.
I just want to mention that this is not a whine thread and I enjoy HoT very much.
As a melee lover, I find myself using range way more often than melee as a lot of the new mobs have mechanics that are melee unfriendly. Not to mention range mobs hit like a truck even to my tank/heal guardian.
Mob Types in Question: Regular & Veteran (other higher ranking mobs should remain the same)
To list a few:
- Mushroom AoE
- Stalker evasion
- Range mobs that jump backwards
- Range mobs that disappear and blink
- Bosses that stand in fire after breathing fire
- Mob charges far awayThe real problem starts when 2 or more mobs attack. With the high damage output from mobs and all the CC, AOE, and dodging going on, it gets frustrating real quick for a melee player.
I feel like some mobs can be toned down by increasing their CC cooldown. Right now it is very punishing if I miss a dodge and get CCed + killed by a regular mob. As a player that killed dragons, it would feel more awesome if tiny little mobs don’t pose so much threat (Looks at tiny beetle)
From a design persepctive, I feel like HoT will benefit by having more enemy archetypes variations for regular mobs. Those are swarmer (pocket raptors don’t count as they deal too much damage), heavy, near and far.
I am sure game designers know this but I am going to put this here so we can have discussions between players as well.
Swarmer – Low Health, Low Damage, Close Range
Heavy – High Health, High Damage, Far Range
Far – Low Health, High Damage, Far Range

I was sitting in a PvP match with some friends, and we were talking about raids. Remembering a few forum posts on Raid tools, we were wondering if anyone had talked about using the PvP statistics displayed at the end of a match (damage dealt, healing to allies, boons applied, etc, etc.), but putting them in a Raid. For instance, every time you left a raid or click “Retry from Checkpoint”, a box would appear with those statistics like it does at the end of a PvP match. This would give raiders some idea of how they were contributing to the raid/ what changes they might need to make.
Anyways, just a thought we had. Figured I would post it here.
keep your elitist crap in PvP, took us almost 4 years to get Anet to separate PvP and PvE in GW1, no going back.

If players wanna “lvl” their characters via 5k tomes, fine by me, but don’t demand everything. Elite specs should not be easy to unlock.
I for one would not wanna see every “n00b” unlocking the elite spec of his class in 5 seconds…
First you don’t wanna “grind” for exotic armor, then you don’t wanna “grind” for Hero Points, then…
I’m sorry you can’t have it all from the moment you logged in. This is not an FPS game. It’s extremely casual friendly as it is already, don’t ridicule it…
This attitude is very anti-WvW. Many of us leveled our characters in WvW and have characters that are pretty much exclusive to WvW. There should be a way to obtain hero points in WvW. Not to mention it’s going to be hell for those with tons of alts.
I find it weird that Anet said in the last Guild Chat that they understand doing certain things like world exploration over and over again on alts is a huge chore. That is the reason they eliminated it from the requirements for the new legendaries. But here they are making things miserable with this 170 point hero point requirement to unlock elite specs. If I have to do that on my main, fine I’ll do it. But having to do it for every single alt character is very miserable.
170?? what the …. Are you ……. serious? My main is ok, but there is no way I’m running through pve maps again with the rest of my 4 alts to achieve 680 hero points.
haha, and that doesn’t even include the optional armor things for each spec. That brings it up to something like 250 hp according to the data mine. But at least that stuff isn’t necessary. But yeah, the 170 is to get the elite spec alone which is pretty outrageous. If it was account bound I don’t think I’d mind, but it isn’t. So you have to run around on each character. AND that’s not the only thing, rumor has it you might have to do some kind of collection thing in pve first before even being able to put hero points toward your elite. Though I think that’s heavy speculation because someone noticed some sort of elite spec collection during beta. And because they said this in their final countdown post:
“overcoming challenges in the jungle to unlock your elite specialization”
So that makes it sound like not only do we have to deal with hero points, but some other thing as well. -_-
That would be interesting. If all of your characters could contribute HPs. I have about 850 HPs between all my characters but none are at the 170 (and the 250 is impossible).
What constantly annoys me are the ‘170 HPs are not big deal’ people. Sure, if you foolishly unlocked all of the skills and traits when given the exact # of HPs to do so and before the 170 was datamined. Or maybe if you have every single HP in the game. HPs basically come in two varieties: ‘this is boring but I will need to grind it on all my characters anyway’ or ‘we who are about to die several times (and still be bored) salute you’.
I have 170 hero points just from playing the game. What are you doing so completely wrong that you’re having a hard time getting hero points?
No, really. This I gotta hear.
Played WvW 99.9 % of our game time ? I’m willing to bet those WvW players put in twice as much game time as the average PvE hero, just because you may not enjoy or do not play a mode doesn’t mean you should be left out of an integral part of the game. Now if the Specialization had no baring on WvW and could not be used in WvW then fine but they are very much an integral part of that game mode. SPvP from what I understand is just having it handed to them because of how that mode works which is fine, but why is WvW constantly left out of the fold ? Those are Anet’s true die hard loyal customers many of which spend obscene amounts of time in game, we don’t just run a dungeon or do our dailies and log out.
So to answer your question, we don’t have the means within WvW to obtain all those points, why are you so against players enjoying the game in a mode they like, being on par with everyone else ? It’s not like WvW was a player fabricated game mode.
For people like yourself I would love it if Anet stripped Lengendaries, Specializations, Revenants, and any part of the game that you would enjoy, out of PvE and made it WvW exclusive to obtain, maybe then you would be singing a completely different tune and not be so ignorant to others enjoyment.
And without the PvE crowd paying for the game you would not have a WvW to play, then you would be singing a diffrent tune :-)

So it turns out to unlock a hot spec you need a ton of those hero points. Only thing is if you unlocked the other trait lines you don’t have any hero points. I think this is extremely unfair to players that don’t pve because if you do anything other, it would take an insane amount of time to get all those. for a guy that has 6 level 80s and hates to pve, you can see why i don’t like this system . I think they will be unlocked in pvp, but please consider a change for those who like to wvw.
Sorry but I feel the same way about the mat’s that will be required to craft a precursor and can only be acquired through PvP. The dev’s have decided that they will force everyone to play all aspects of the game.

I think its bullkitten if we dont get HOT for free if we paid for the core game before i spent 70 bucks on mine 2 year’s ago, and i dont think it’s right to release HOT with Free core game to all player’s Let us up or let us play a little into hot or something. It’s not really good for a company to just Drop veterans and loyal player’s like that.

Doing TT with organized core of players is also only recommended, not required. You can try doing it with pure pug. You will 99.9% fail it, but you can.
Saying something is just recommended doesn’t mean anything. The content is still balanced for ascended, not exotics, and the enrage mechanic exists to punish anyone trying to run it undergeared.
BS. We heard the same kind of crap from the so called “Pro” players in GW1 when Urgoz and the Deep came out, guess what Pug’s did just fine, the biggest joke was the first few runs by the so called “Pro’S”, like a 12 hour run, 2 weeks later pug’s did it in less than 4 hours. fast forward a couple of years and people did it SOLO + 1 hero.
But I guess that’s why all the so called “Pro” (self proclaimed) players are so afraid raids will be open to all.

- No, it will not be coming back.
- We don’t know how exactly yet, but my understanding is that it will be rescaled to some new higher-than-70 threshold at 100 and the gradient will change for the rest of the levels. We do know it will not scale linearly with what we have now (ie. It will not take 100 AR to get to L70, etc).
- Yes, condition damage will be very meta at certain higher levels, especially factoring some new instabilities.
- Pristine Fractal Relics become the exclusive reward dungeon currency for Fractals. You will be able to purchase Fractal weapons and more using these relics. There will still be some RNG, but it’s my understanding that with this change you can actually make progress towards tangible rewards that you’d actually want.
- Mastery points are acquired by experience, and not running Fractals. You can earn these mastery points anywhere in the game and then apply them to the Fractal Mastery track to boost your efficacy there.

That’s handy for the people that don’t like to play PvP, it’s good that they’re not being forced into it.
We can only hope that PvE and WvWvW players will be able to trade for gifts of exploration too. I get enough childish behavior at work don’t need it in game.

Since a minority of players do PvP Shades of Glory will be ridiculously priced, it will force players to do Pvp if they want to be able to finish Legendary crafting.
That’s kind of the point. Colin said one of the reasons all new legendaries going forward are untradable is that they want legendaries to require people to play every part of the game to get them, even if they don’t make it their main thing.
It is likely they made the glory shards tradable to address the income disparity between pvp and pve since they both reward the same currencies now, giving people the option of profiting off of others, but the general intent is that it’s going to always be far cheaper and easier to get that legendary crafted by actually going and doing the content yourself.
We also don’t know what else the glory shards are used for. Off the top of my head I’m guessing some of the guild arena upgrades will probably require them. I don’t believe they’d add a whole new currency, and make it tradable, if its only use was legendary crafting.
Then legendary crafting is a NO NO for me, I will not stand for being forced to play PvP by anyone. Ascended will have to do.
That’s handy for the people that don’t like to play PvP, it’s good that they’re not being forced into it.

“Last boss should be full asc” and one of his replies “Agony resistance is not required.”
So asc won’t be required, they are just really expected.
It is just like saying a dungeon/fractal requires a full party, then we see several videos of people soloing those.It’s not what the statement says, but how people will react to the statement. If raid leaders and players think they’ll need it, they’re going to buy it, and the price is going to increase.
It is safe to assume that with things like GW2effiency, leaders will be requiring gear checks and forcing BiS, which means $$$ if you’re smart enough to pounce early.
That’s gonna be fun for the leader
leader: “ok. All 9 of you need to send me their GW2effiency link of your gear to make sure you are all full ascended!”
Some members: “what’s GW2effiency?”

Anyone asking me for a GW2effiiency link will be reported, NO ONE should be able to keep another player from certain content because they refuse to use 3 party programs.
raids are not designed for PuGs.
OK, can you point to a official post that states that Raids are only for guild groups?
I know that YOU want raids to be exclusive to guild groups and YOU don’t think or want raids to be open to pug’s, guess what, they said the same about Urgoz and The Deep in GW1 and were all proved wrong, Pug’s did just great.

Why take any other profession in the support role when I can just take a druid who can apparently support 20-30 people according to the live stream. Are there any other classes who can do this? I don’t understand why it went so over the top, doesn’t this defeat the idea of “balance” at all??

Why take any other profession in the support role when I can just take a druid who can apparently support 20-30 people according to the live stream. Are there any other classes who can do this? I don’t understand why it went so over the top, doesn’t this defeat the idea of “balance” at all??
