Josh Foreman said definitely not April.
In another thread, someone mentioned that you have to actually proceed to the area after the end of zone 3. Have not yet done it myself though.
Elena Sedai on Morningthaw. Now Elena Sedai on Sorrow’s Furnace, hehe.
So many fond memories of AC. I loved being able to just run and run and run through almost the whole world. Also, just sitting around and chatting with people. The first time I ran into a reedshark it scared the crap out of me.
It seems to me that maybe they wanted to get the community’s reaction to the content before investing the time in creating the full set of worlds. From what I’ve seen on the boards, it seems to be a resounding success, so this gives me hope that they will implement more.
If past events are any indication, it’s likely that you won’t be able to obtain the skins any more once the event is over. However, it’s possible that it will be reintroduced in the future with more worlds and more skins (this possibility is dev confirmed).
I have enjoyed them all. Really it’s hard to pick. Highlights include the epic karka battle, the clocktower, the wintersday bell game, and of course the super adventure box.

Yay! Thanks!!
I get the Sunny Glade music (aka “Logan’s Journey”) stuck in my head all the time now.

FYI, you can get the achievement in infantile mode, when you have a rainbow to stand on to burn the plants before you get to the ledge.
You can dig anywhere. I randomly got a bauble or a rabbit occasionally while going for the dig achievement. There may be locations that can give you something else though.
Please keep it. It’s awesome!
It’s a bunado, lol. I triggered it by killing a regular bunny. Then it killed me. It lingered a bit longer and eventually disappeared.
Yeah you get teleported before anything actually hits you.
Cooking is by far the most fun I’ve had crafting in this game. Recipes don’t follow the same pattern like they do with other crafts. They follow real life cooking recipes, and it’s quite fun to discover them all.
That said, I have not found cooking very useful after maxing it. I do make my own omnomberry bars and one or two other things, but that’s about it. The dyes take too many materials to be worth it.
I like to use a guide to locate them and then try to figure them out on my own. If I get stuck, then I look for some more help.
Do what you like! If you like the guardian class a lot, then play it on multiple characters.
I don’t have any two of the same class, but I do have quite a few Asura characters because they’re so cute. I’m trying to spread it out and have at least once of each race, but that might happen later down the road.
I’ve always found jumping quite easy in this game compared to most MMOs honestly, mainly because if you jump forward and then stop holding forward…you immediately stop all forward momentum and land at exactly the spot you stopped holding forward at.
Yep, that is very useful for smaller jumps, especially if you have any kind of speed bonus. Another way to do small jumps is to jump straight up first, and then press forward while in the air. You will move foward, but not as far as if you were holding down forward the whole time. This technique is most useful on short steep jumps, so you don’t catch on what you’re trying to jump onto.
I’d like it if they smoothed things out a bit if they’re going to keep putting puzzles and such in. I like games like that, but GW2’s mechanics (not to mention horrible camera) always made the puzzles a bit annoying for me in this game.
Are you key turning? As long as you are holding right click to control camera, and keys A and D to strafe instead of turn, it should be completely fluid.
This is how experienced pvp players typically play to be able to circle strafe, I don’t know how much of the population actually does this. But it is extremely fluid movement for jump puzzles.
Yeah I do that to circle strafe, depending on what class I’m playing. I don’t PvP, I use it in PvE.
If you don’t get any takers, maybe you could buy them off the TP and then resell the batch when you’re done. I have no idea how much this would cost.
Interesting. Maybe a way to forge Black Lion Kits?
I seem to be getting a coin in about 1 out of 3 JPs or so.
I think it looks awesome. Congrats!
I have about 90g. Slowly working toward legendary. I also still have a few crafting professions to master, so I’m hanging on to most of my materials. I do lots of chest events every day for money. I sell the blues and greens to the vendor, salvage the rares, and sell the resulting upgrades on the TP (saving the ectos). Any exotics I can’t use I sell on the TP, usually for 1-3g.
From the few dungeons I’ve done, that seems like a much faster way to make money, but is more hassle for me.
Update: I’ve made a change so the wurm can no longer be killed before the event starts, and increased the max scale of the event so it should be slightly less zergable. It’s in QA’s hands right now for testing, and should be in a future update.
Great, thanks!!
Worked for me too. Thanks!!
A few guildies and I were talking a couple weeks ago about how there should be a title for collecting all dyes on a character. We were naming off some title options like:
Live and Let Dye
Dye Another Day
Dye HardThere were a few more I’m forgetting, but it was fun. I know slightly off topic, but this thread made me think of it.
Awesome!
The problem with the wurm is that it can be damaged before the event even starts, which is when it becomes targetable.
I haven’t done a lot of dungeons, but recently did HotW for the first time. First I tried an LFG post on gw2lfg, stating that I was new to the dungeon. No invites. So later I just joined an already existing group and immediately mentioned I was new to the dungeon and asked if that was okay. The group leader said it was fine, and proceeded to give me instructions for each fight. It was a very smooth run, and as it turned out I was needed because I was the only one with explorable unlocked.
In the future I will definitely mention that I am new at the beginning. If they kick me, then it probably wouldn’t have been a good experience anyway.
To all the experienced dungeon runners, your patience with newbies is greatly appreciated. I think there are many of us who are happy to listen and follow instructions so that we can be beneficial to our group and learn the dungeon.
I was seeing this yesterday too. I haven’t been able to check whether it is fixed today or not.
No question I would. Elementalist here.
I would love to see more titles, especially for “mundane” things like the slayer achievements or weapon mastery. It would add more variety and flavor to the titles we see.
Most of the titles I see are either from Hall of Monuments or PvP/WvW. There really don’t seem to be that many PvE titles. Wish there were more.
Opened 43 chest and got my token. Also got charr backpiece an pink quaggan. Ihope they keep these fused tokens in the chest. Something this good should be hard to obtain and give the player a sense of joy and relief when they finally get one.
I don’t consider these “hard” to obtain. They require either luck or lots and lots of money. Hard is a long, difficult quest chain with a reward at the end.
Wow. After seeing the pics, if I get one of these items, it’s going straight to the auction house.
NOPE
Why not? Are they account/soul bound?
The skins are account bound.
Maybe if you people would stop spending money on them, they’d stop doing it that way. SMH.
Yeah, its probably because of things like the Christmas Weapons that were in the gem store, I don’t think they sold that well, but whenever something is in a black lion chest, sales of those explode.
It’s not because they’re in the chests. It’s because the fused weapon skins are many times more awesome than the christmas weapons.
When it gets down to 8g (buy offer that succeeds, not sell offer) , I’ll probably buy one. If you want more than that for yours, you’re looking for someone else to be your customer. They are nice, but I’ve seen them in the hands of Guards and they look so-so with their skills, and the mis-aligned FX makes them look like kitten-litter-lumps when a necro uses them (though that may be fixed eventually).
It looks like this may have been fixed in the patch:
“Staffs now correctly play the visual effects of necromancer staff skills at the tip of the staff rather than at the player’s hands.”
Can anyone confirm?
They look awesome, but I’m not going to spend gems on keys.
For light armor I crafted I think it was the highest level boots. Not only do they not show the toes, but nothing sticks out from the sides where the toes should be.
So the problem is you can’t complete WvW because the enemy always outnumbers you? If this is the case give it time your world will be put into an appropriate lvl tier for wvw for even battles.
This is tier 8. It hasn’t changed for months. I’m on Sorrow’s Furnace, and I really feel for those on Eredon Terrace and Fergusson’s Crossing. I really think they should rotate the colors randomly each week.
I just did it again myself. I got two blues and a green. I’m level 80.
Also, here’s what I did when there was a music track I couldn’t find anywhere. Figure out how to record music playing on your own computer (I plugged in the speaker jack to the mic jack, but there is probably a better way). Then turn off all your in game sounds except the music, and use something like Audacity to record it.
It is fear not this night, but from the long original composition, it might be available under another name but the theme is in this youtubevid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FORP4rU4Bzo (gamescom intro trailer)
It’s not the same. The melody is different. It does have a similar sound though. I have not heard the music in any of the Fear Not This Night tracks (3-4 different versions of them).
It most likely does not have a name, and is just atmospheric music. I don’t think I have heard it on the unofficial soundtrack youtube playlist I linked either. There are other music tracks that are not on there either.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/orichalcum
So the audio seems to pronounce it O-ri-kal-come (not koom). Is there some controversy about how to pronounce this syllable among academics?
Please keep releasing tracks from the game. And more outtakes. They’re awesome!
Here are a few more:
1 | 5 | Out of the Dream | Sylvari opening cinematic
1 | 6 | Heritage of Humanity | Human opening cinematic
3 | 11 | Battle of the Vanguard | Human tutorial
3 | 12 | Caithe’s Daggers | Sylvari tutorial
4 | 7 | The Pact | Asura tutorial?
Most of the music is used in multiple locations. Here are a few I have figured out personally. Note that the spots listed are just one location used for each, but there may be more.
1 | 03 | Bear’s Spirit | Vistas in Hoelbrek
1 | 07 | Snaff’s Workshop | Asura opening cinematic
1 | 10 | Battle with the Tamini | Norn tutorial
1 | 11 | The Sea of Sorrows | Vistas in Lion’s Arch
1 | 18 | Tears of Stars | Used at the end of the Claw Island personal story
2 | 6 | Dawn in Shaemoor | Vistas in Divinity’s Reach
2 | 20 | Sunrise Over Astorea | Vistas in Metrica Province
2 | 22 | Rytlock | Shadow Behemoth event

3 | 6 | The Last Great City of Men | Divinity’s Reach atmospheric
4 | 2 | Raven Speaks | Claw of Jormag event
4 | 14 | March of the Legions | Tequatl and Shatterer events
4 | 16 | Scales of Issormir | Maw and Great Jungle Wurm events
Here is a youtube link for 100+ tracks from the game. Some, but not all, are available on the soundtrack you can purchase. Maybe the music you’re looking for is in there.
The general town music changes. Fear Not This Night is definitely used for the vistas, but I think there might be other possible music for atmosphere. I’ll have to listen again next time I’m there.
It’s possible I am mistaken. Or maybe you were both lucky.
In any case, I’ll still do the event any time someone has a key… it’s very quick and at least you get some loot.
