This is an aspect of MMOing I’ve never quite understood, so when people are talking about the economy sucking, or not being able to make a profit, I really don’t really have anything constructive to contribute. I get (in a vague sense) that being able to get more gems for less gold is a Good Thing, so you can get more cool stuff from ANet, but I just don’t get the player to player economy.
So help me out- what about having an income and making a profit in game enhances the gameplay for you?
it happens in Chrome, too.
If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you’re gonna see some serious skritt.
That’s for charr vehicles, right?
One word, Singing
Where in the holy heek does that happen? o.O
(edited by Eleri Tezhme.3048)
I think it’s the girls running around in the short ruffly skirts that I notice the most.
You ran from skritt!
I find myself saying What what WHAAAT? to my kids. And my cats.
I stumbled across this lovely dye chart: http://i.imgur.com/P8ZJ8.png and the page it was based on: https://sites.google.com/site/gw2dyes/ and it confirmed something for me that I’d been thinking, but thought maybe it was just me/my monitor.
Some of the dye colours are way too close to the same. Adobe and Rust overlap. Apricot, Beige & Pumpkin do, too. Mountain Sky & Deep Lilac. I know I have some on my characters that are so close, I can not tell the difference when changing dyes on a piece of armor- even when it is different materials.
And that’s a bummer. It is awesome they made so many different dye colours, but look at all that empty space (not enough green!) I’d like to see them phase out some of the ones that are so close as to be functionally the same (like on that second page, Grey palate, top row, 3rd and 4th from the right… are those really different colours? Or green, third row from the bottom 4th & 5th in.) especially ones that are super close to the starter palatte, because we don’t need them (and especially if those are considered uncommon+ drops!)
No, please, no more destroyers. Destroyers are the second worst thing after Risen. Branded or Icebrood I can stand.
(I want our original destroyers back, not the turned into destroyer trolls and harpies we get now…)
You should go through the Tarnished Coast in GW1. The ruins the asura settled in – remnants of Utopia – had mesoamerican aesthetics to it.
+1000 for using the word mesoamerican
Aside from feeling bad that I have to smack them around… every time I go near Ascalonian ghosts I wince…because they are wearing modern clothes. It is a small thing, insignificant in the big picture, and I grok the technical reasons behind it, but it still drives me mildly batty. The Foefire was 200+ years ago, not long after GW1, they should be wearing clothes from then, not now.
More town clothes & accessories that are lore appropriate.
Actual girl armor for Asura.
One time use personal, portable waypoints.
Even with all the skrittological humor in the game, several obvious puns have been missed…
Not a single skritt shaman, priest, monk or other religious poohbah in the game. I was really hoping to be able to yell HOLY SKRITT!
There needs to be an extremely subterranian skritt lair, so we can be in deep skritt. (Alternatively, a strangely wise skritt philosopher…)
A skrit named Jakk that we don’t know.
I’m sure there are others.
did anyone happen to get recordings of Tixx’s comments? I’ve been hunting youtube videos, but most of those have commentary going, and you can’t hear what he’s saying.
Same here- nothing in inventory, chest already opened.
Am I the only person bugged by the fact that the Ascalon ghosts are all wearing modern clothes, instead of GW1 era clothes? I know it is just a little thing, and that there are valid tech reasons behind it, but it still makes me twitch every time I see one.
pleeeeessseeeee? My little plushie gryphon needs a name
Every time I hear the mistletoe line, I get this vision of Tixx standing over his work table, intently focused on his latest brilliant toy invention, when an enthusiastic golem clunks over and plants a metalic kiss on Tixx (which is less a kiss, and more a thud…). Tixx jumps, looks around, and sees the mistletoe hanging over his head. He gives a long-suffering sigh, and says “Alright, who misplaced the mistletoe? Again. Hah hah, very funny, now let me get some work done, I’m on the verge of a progeny entertaining breakthrough!”
Well only the 3rd toy rush is different, but i’m kinda disappointed.
No, this was serious overlap, at one point we had 3 bars showing Tixx rampaging, and still had turrets to kill, and waves of charr toy soldiers. Was pretty crazy
When I did Tixx in the BC this am, there was TONS of overlap with yesterday’s events, and I didn’t get full reward from the chest. so this may not be completely fixed.
We had the same thing, sometimes with several going at once- so we were killing skritt, malfunctioning turrets, and waves of soldiers at the same time- After having to paint dolls and defend the Ventari from them at the same time o.O
Got the mission reward, but DR on the chest, too :/
I got 1 gift with gems I already had (because I don’t spend real money in world. At all.), and I got a mini. shrug
I’m thinking someone needs to make an epic technorap battle between “By Ogden’s Hammer”, “CITIZENS!” and “Who Misplaced the Mistletoe”
Nuke ’em from orbit.
ArenaNet NEEDS to hook up iwht this company to make the Quaggan Plushie-
http://www.squishable.com
They already have a manatee, so that would only need some adaptation. 15 inches of cuddly quaggan!!!
gaaaaaaah, I want him so bad.
Our whole party crashed out of the game in the middle of the DR Tixx run- we could all log back in, go to the dungeon door, where it asked (each of us) if we wanted to rejoin our party, but clicking yes got us all the Code 19:9:18:1614:101 error. We had to drop the party and form up again (and start all over! Augh! Skritttttt!)
OK, now I need that quaggan tshirt. (The twisted part of my brain thinks it needs to be worn by a quaggan looking like Mr T.)
I’ve been having this issue on and off across multiple characters- I’ll go talk to the armor repair NPC, with plenty of money- and they will tell me I can’t afford the repairs. But, the repairs will get done anyhow, my money is taken, and in my hero screen everything looks fine.
However, the damaged shield will still show on my main screen, and if I talk to any armor repair person after that, they’ll want to charge the full amount.
Oooh, yah! If you can guest individual characters, that would be it.
But why?? quaggan are…. disgusting…
Crazy person.
I had an idea while waiting outside the Catacombs the other day, after being told for the bajillionth time that the area had restricted access…
Mute buttons for individual NPCs.
Now that we’ve all had the pleasure of meeting Subdirector Blingg, I think it is a much more appropriate suggestion.
Hi,
We’ll “fix” how frequently he’s playing his lines (although one could say that it’s part of his personality!) in the next patch.
I’m not getting annoyed actually, sometimes i lol’ed myself hard, hearing those NPC’s while waiting for my other teammates to enter the Fractal, hahah =))
For some reason the way he says “The Consortium” cracks me up every time
I put in a bug report when I saw this in Caledon Forest, but I saw it is doing the same thing in Lion’s Arch, so I’m assuming the thundershrimp are borked everywhere. Their tail has been stretched & twisted out of proportion, and their legs are wonky, too. Not high on the priority totem pole, but I figured it’ll be something to keep an eye on.
Time for Eleri’s dumb question of the day!!
So, I was bouncy to see that they added a bunch of information to the character select page (although the one I was hoping for, the name & level of PS quest you are on, didn’t make it…FOO!), but I was wondering why it showed which world your character is on… aren’t all of your characters on the same world, anyhow?
So cool! Thank you bunches for your hard work!
A question, isn’t there armors that are only for PvP? Are those marked somehow?
I didn’t have a problem losing the scabbard going from water to land- but the cutscene didn’t trigger right away when I got to safety. I managed to trigger it by running around inside the green zone until it showed
interesting stuffs, thanks all!
We were just pondering here at home that we’d not seen any Risen Silvari. Risen Everything Else Under The Sun, but no Silvari. Hmmm… Could this be part of their purpose? By being resistant to dragon power?
SQUEE!! This totally made my birthday. :-)
Yayyyy!! Quaggans represent!
It finally dawned on me what was irritating me every time I opened my personal bank or the guild bank. While it shows how much money is in the bank, it doesn’t show how much money I have on me, so if I want to deposit some, I have to open a seprate inventory window, looksee how much I have, then tab back to the bank window.
It shows everything_else_ in my inventory, why not how much change I’m caring around?
drive me absolitely nuts that all my crafted crafting materials don’t have a storage place of their own. Especially with cooking stuff, because crafted componants don’t out-level like other professions.
At lease some of us can converse without needing to drop kittens all over the kitten place.
Got jumped & trounced by a MS team in Lornar’s pass, had some very interesting members…
IIRC, the winners were to be announced Nv 5th.
I’ll make a bajillion pieced of almond candycorn brittle sor people if they want it
All your candy corn should belong to me! (kidding!)
I’ll hang on to it, see what I can make out of stuff. Save rolld of TP for hucking at people.
Kinda sad at the number of people who hoarded for money making- but whatever makes the game enjoyable for you is all good. shrug
:)
for the future, could you guys consider putting the “Special Events” category at the top of the Acheivements list, instead of the very bottom? Would be a little easier to go check on what we’ve done.
Trick or treat bags were fine, though I dearly wish that the halloween ingredients were collectible like regular ingredients, and stacked higher. We don’t have much space, and I’m sure you don’t intend us to have to buy expanded bank space just to make room for special events. If every event gives us more such non-collectible ingredients, finding room for them all is going to become an issue. I hope you’ll consider that, going forward.
Yes please- special event crafting materials need to have storage space in Collections. Especially since you can get some of the materials long before you’ll ever have everything you need to craft your recipe.
I honestly LURVED the ToT bags, even when all I got was tons of Candy Corn. I saw a lot of people griping about opening X# of bags and not getting some sort of exclusive drop… I guess I get that, but I’m much happier just enjoying the fun of it, not setting out with a goal of Get All The Things. I suppose that significantly colours how I view events.
Bollywood mummies and their spectral dance partner cut loose in LA
And it took forever for MKT to turn me into a glowy spider!

I’ve said this already, but I wanna make sure Josh hears it, and believes it- the Clocktower was AWESOME, even for me, who couldn’t even start it, let alone complete it. It was beautifully made, devilishly clever, and it made you work your bookah off if you wanted the goodies- all hallmarks of a really GOOD puzzle.
It wasn’t required for any titles, so I didn’t feel like I was missing out; it was tons of fun listening to people in map chat cheer about finishing it, or go over strategy & jumping tips. I was perfectly happy to go farm more candycorn (NOM!), or run all my characters through the labyrinth daily for loot
I think (from reading through this thread) the thing that put people off was the combination of difficulty + timed+ major element of major event. I think pulling any one of those three out of the equation would have raised the completion numbers.
And trying something different for the next puzzle or dungeon or whatever isn’t going to ‘make the game suck’ or ‘dumb it down’ or ‘nerf it’ no matter what people say. Variety is a good thing, and giving a wide range of activities means that over the course of the whole game, there’ll be something for everyone.
Make the next holiday puzzle something that uses tons of grey matter, rather than reflexes and timing… then we’ll see who’s dumb
