Personally, i have like 3 months on hiatus (log 3 hours to do the living and then log out until the next LS). But i generally surf in the forum and wait patiently for the game to improve.
Allowing players to join activities in groups would just allow them to be more easily exploited. Groups would enter them with the intention of cheating to increase their rate of rewards or to simply trade achievements.
Personally, if I could get a solo instance, I could easily double the rewards out of activities like Sanctum Sprint, Clock Tower or Bell Choir because I wouldn’t have to wait for other people.
If ArenaNet was going to make an option, I would expect them to handle it like custom arenas. All rewards would be removed to prevent botting.
I care so little about the ‘awesome reward’ this game provide, i just want to do these awesome activities with my guildies and friends!
I have always hated that i can’t play activities with my friends, but it seems like they don’t care about it anymore

People asking for a challenge, and when they get it that’s what happens… Part of the blame, all the same, on the developers. They managed to accustom everyman for DPS-walls bosses, so as soon as something more or less “intelligent” appears, begins rejection.
Actually, this thread proves the opposite. Everyone but the OP loves the fight and mechanism
I loved the dynamic events on Silverwastes, is Anet thinking on expanding this idea more and in more areas?

The BWE finales didn’t make it into the final game because they’re lore-breaking, really.
Though they do make interesting set-ups. Set ups that I don’t think Lunatic Inquisition and Southsun Survival really capture.
The BWE2 can be done without breaking the lore :P
I though we will get events like this every now and then. Oh well, we have the Living History that is kind of similar, but not as fun as those events. The BW2 one was so awesome, that i dreamed of similar events but with Zhaitan and other dragons flying in the sky for a couple of days lol.

But, the sad part is that i probably gonna play the LS and leave again. I like PvP a lot, but im just bored of the same maps and the same game mode

Having 10 seconds to kill the illusions seems like a good DPS race one thing wanted to ask will the clones she summon will they have certain mechanics or act like the regular ones mesmers summon?

Also do NPCs affect how many clone selina summons? If so the NPCs will make the encounter really tough ,but still doable if you have the DPS to control the clones. In that case I might suggest increasing the time from 10 seconds to maybe 20 perhaps?
No, the NPC don’t affect how many clones she summon.
I think you are right, about the time, ill make it 20 seconds because those clones are not the squishy clones the Mesmer summon lol.
As we know, raid might be coming to Guild Wars 2. I decided to start a thread to give ideas to Anet on how to make an interesting raid boss fight.
I’ll start first. Hope you guys like it.
Selina the Chaosweaver
Selina, former member of the Shining Blade, were suctioned by an Asuran experiment to the mist. After many efforts to bring her to Tyria, she was back… but she was never the same. Something changed on her, she came back from the mist with only one objective in her mind: Destroy the head of the Shining Blade.
Countess Anise knowing about the thread, decided to gather a group of heroes to face her and know more about what happened to her in The Mist.
Encounter
Selina The Chaosweaver
Weapons:
Fan/Off-hand Fan
Fan
- Ether Shot: Hit her main target with an Ether Shot. Placing 10 stacks of torment for 6 seconds and knocking-back the target 1025 distance. 1 sec cast time.
- Chaos Confluence: Create a ball of chaos with 600 radius. After 3 seconds it will pull all players inside the ball causing 3k damage and 500 each seconds for the duration of the spell. Players absorbed by the ball are unable to cast any spell and can’t leave it. Duration: 20 sec. Cooldown: 15 sec.
- Chaos Leap: Leap to the farthest target in an attempt to do a killing blow. On her way to that target she leave a trail of Chaos Fire that apply Burning(10s), Bleed(10 stack, 10s) or Poison(25s). Leave a clone that use Ether Shot with 10k hp per player on the instance. Cooldown: 8 sec.
Off-Hand Fan
- Phantasmal Mime: Summon a Phantasmal Mime with 5k hp per player on the instance. Cooldown: 10 sec. Phantasmal Mime will do the same action as his target with 800% more effectiveness.
- Unstable Chaos Armor: Gain Unstable Chaos Armor for 6s. Unstable Chaos Armor have the same effect as Chaos Armor, but each time she is hit, the attacker is pulled to her if is farther than 600 of knocked back for 1200 if the attacker is closer than 600.
Fight Mechanics
- Countess Anise will help in the fight, as well kitten members of the shining blade.
Countess Anise: She will use Sword/Sword on this fight. She places Time Warp every time Selina lost 25% of her health. Also places Null Fields and summon Phantasmal Defender.
Shining Blade Member: They will use Staff. Also place Null Fields and summon Phantasmal Disenchanter.
At 75% health, Selina summon 1 Phantasm for each player in the raid and dissapear.
Warrior, Guardian: Summon a Phantasmal Defender with 2k HP per player on the instance.
Mage, Mesmer, Elementalist: Summon a Phantasmal Warlock with 2k HP per player on the instance.
Ranger, Engineer, Thief: Summon a Phantasmal Duelist with 2k HP per player on the instance.
After 20 seconds, all the phantasm will shatter and Selina appear.
Causing 500 damage, placing 1 stack of confusion, place distortion on Selina for 1 second and 1 stack of Might for 15 seconds for each successful shatter.
at 50% health Selina will disappear and summon a Phantasmal Destroyer.
Phantasmal Destroyer:Summon a Phantasmal Destroyer with 20k hp per player on the instance and place Chaos Storm in the entire instance with 200% more effectiveness. After the Phantasmal Destroyer is destroyed, it will explode causing 15 stack of bleed for 15 seconds to half of the raid.
At 25% Selina gets angry and gain Quickness. All of her cooldowns are reduced in half.
After she is dead, Countess Anise notice a Talisman in her neck that is too familiar.
End.

The problem is, given the way they typically price trading post items, it’d probably be cheaper to change gems to gold and buy three years worth of single-use transmutation charges than what you’d pay for one infinite-use transmutation item.
Yeah infinite sounds problematic. What if they did something like a three month wardrobe pass that allows to change at will for the next three months.

My greatest wish for a futures Feature Patch would be more PvP oriented (not the excuse of “PvP Feature Patch” the last one was >.> ).
- GvG: At least 3 maps with different objectives
* Capture the flag like map.
* Killing objectives like map.
* Death match like map (this can be a labyrinth!). - Do a balance Patch every 2 or 3 months, avoid using the feature patch for balance please!
- More SPvP modes
* Capture the flag (10v10) (at least 1 map on the next FP, more can be added later).
* Deathmatch Arenas (8v8,5v5,3v3) (2 or 3 small maps like the courtyard).

They should do something like this to make us happier, even though they wont deliver half of what is promised.
I’ll log when the Living History comes, until then, i will continue reading the forums in hope for something new and shiny to be announced.

Why not make small surveys after every update ingame, that way you can have more information about how people feel ingame

Now that the new September 2014 Feature Pack is out (ouch), and LS2 has got going (ugh)…is it now time to say that maybe a standalone xpac is what this game REALLY needs? With a whole new continent and such? Something big, fun, and interesting, and not just more of the same-old same-old?

What you didn’t like the fact DumbNet lock core features of your pet behind levels? Or was it the idea that they just knocked our survivability in half with no offhand weapon? Lol what were these guys thinking… I don’t get it
everything, even the zone is way too quite and peaceful for me lol.
Protip: New players are NOT ALWAYS on new characters. Veterans create new charactes too, and they already know how to play the game and don’t need to be spoonfed trait/skills.
I don’t think any new player will love that kind of changes, it way too boring.
I created a Ranger to test the changes and i think its not for me those changes, got bored pretty quickly.

- Illusionary Elasticity Works for Clones
While this may initially seem like a buff to only condition builds, power builds can benefit from this pretty massively too. Clones/Phantasms’ damage is improved from your personal might, so any and all stacking will improve their condition damage. This is also great news for staff-using lockdown builds, as 0/4/6/0/4 becomes pretty lucrative.
This also can benefit your allies, because the Wind of Chaos can jump on them.
A better change to mimic should have been to copy the boons and paste it to whoever we want. If i can copy 25 stack of might and pass it to some member of the team would be awesome.
Mimic+signet of inspiration and there you go!
