Some quotes were actually toned down in frequency before [the Mesmer’s Mantra chants for example, they used to say them during each and every cast], they may do it again if enough people dislike it.

We killed Zhaitan, so yes, they can be killed. These are creatures of pure magic, so simply “stabbing their heart” won’t end up working.

To be fair, if you’re invoking Shiro, you’re not really supposed to focus on healing since there’s a reason why we Revenants have specialized Stances.

I truly wanted to do Druid till i saw that they were healers, so yes, i’ll be maining Revenant.

I wonder how strong the backlash would be if they added alternate animations for the weapons or animations based on the Race.

Ranger isn’t a pure DPS profession. It has support utilities and a support train line and traits that made another set of utilities provide support boons like regeneration and swiftness. In fact ranger is one of the best providers of regeneration in the game.
Just because you play Marksmanship/Skirmishing/Wilderness Survival exclusively doesn’t mean Nature Magic doesn’t exist. It doesn’t mean spirits don’t exist. And it doesn’t mean ranger should NEVER get an addition to more support options just because you’re scared of having more to offer a team than raw damage numbers.
Druid adds healing potential to the ranger’s kit to expand on our meager support options to make a more viable support role.
Maybe if people actually bothered to check out what the skills they don’t use did there’d be less confusion. As for now this will be my last response in this thread. It’s getting too populated with ignorance for my taste.
We aren’t a full support. I wouldn’t have minded if they expanded on the SUPPORTING aspects of the Ranger, that would’ve been awesome honestly, but why the hell are they making us HEALERS?
Maybe if people actually bothered to understand this, we could try to move forward. Druid isn’t an addition, it’s a complete change to what the Ranger is and none of the specializations do this, NONE of them.
Forgot to mention that Druid also does absolutely nothing with the Ranger’s pet.

You forgot to mention that Smite only has a default generic voice for every sound you can make and not only do you need to buy the voice pack to hear your character’s voice, but the packs that sound different ALSO need the skin required.

Warrior: Berserker
Engineer: Scrapper
Ranger: Druid
Thief: Daredevil
Elementalist: Tempest
Mesmer: Chronomancer
Necromancer: Reaper
Which of these changes the ENTIRE ROLE of the core class? None except the Druid.
All of these are a TRUE addition to their role, either giving them a extra boost to their power or to their utility.
NONE of them change the entire role of the profession. You don’t see the Reaper changing the DPS Necromancer into a Tank. You don’t see the Dragonhunter changing the Tank Guardian into a Healer. Why does the Druid change the DPS Ranger into a Healer?

Only thing i find stupid is how they made so much money by selling the core game, then made more money by adding it for free if you pre-purchase HoT, THEN they go “well, core game is 100% free now”.
May have restrictions, but it’s still a little shady.

The core game F2P now, AFTER many bought HoT because it included the core game.

Now what they have to do is actually give more info on HoT since we really don’t know much yet other than specs [and we STILL don’t know them all], Revenant [we don’t know his own elite either] and that one area of the beta.

Was that so hard for you Anet? You lost nothing by accepting you were wrong and finally giving everyone who pre-purchased HoT a character slot, especially since you’ve done it in the past with GW1.
All we wanted was to have a fair deal, not feel like we were getting ripped off, and i thank you for finally realizing it.

There is no ‘proof’, we can’t read peoples minds.
There’s pattern recognition though – along with a natural tendency to self-justify.

It’s totally naturally that people who are upset over the prepurchase are going to severely dislike and really not be willing to accept that observation. We’re just not wired that way.

This whole thread isnt proof enough? What about all the other forums? What proof are you looking for exactly? The only thing that is really apparent is that you guys are salty because you see someone is getting core game files when they purchase HoT.

_The ONLY reason I’m not buying it yet is because the basic “bundle” doesn’t include a char slot. Why should I have to delete one of my 11 level 80’s? It should come with at least ONE slot. Until it does I’m not going to buy it.Will I cry or lose sleep about it? NO. It’s Arenanet’s loss.

How many professions are in the core game and how many character slots did you start with?
Let us see… 8 profs and 5 slots… So your logic went out the window since launch.
At launch, you could choose at least 5 profs you liked and make them. We didn’t know the Revenant even existed or was coming out or that an expansion was gonna be made since they had said they weren’t making one and Anet already gave char slots in GW1.

What people have been saying is they want the core game as well as HoT like the other people, they can get it, just act like your a new player. In the end you will have MORE than what they have. I just KNEW someone was going to bring it up that they want their cake and eat it to. They want HoT on their existing account and a free account to who knows what they would do with it. Give it to their friend? And when they want HoT what are you going to do with that core game, and it just keeps on going on in a circle. I’m not mad. I pre-ordered yesterday the moment it became available and look forward to spending hundreds more hours in HoT content.
If you don’t feel the content presently unveiled is worth the price, don’t pre-order yet (or wait until a sale after release). It’s your money and your decision. But coming onto the forums and demanding that new players not get the base game for free, or that veterans are somehow ‘missing out’ is childish and misinformed behavior.

Only A Realm Reborn is doing incredibly well and Heavensward, which is cheaper than HoT by the way, comes out next week. Stop thinking of the original FFXIV.
Yet I played every FF game up until I got burned on FFXIV so that was the end all of FF games for me. Will probably never play another FF again due to that.
I even got closed beta to a realm reborn, got into every beta, but they still burned me. I played ff11 for over 4 years and got nothing for getting burned on a realm reborn.
Some fans stuck by them but I can tell you as a long time fan of the FF franchise, FF will never be the same for me.
Sad thing is people are feeling the same way about this game..
ONE bad experience with the original FFXIV MMO and you’re now hating on the entire FF franchise. Sad thing is that people can feel that way without actually giving the games a chance.

I’m getting so tired of seeing uninformed drones throwing out “you’re entitled, you’re cheap, you’re this and that”. Why is it so hard for you people to understand how badly Anet is handling this? Why is it so hard to open your eyes for at least 2 seconds and understand why are so many players, or customers if you want, are upset about this?
There actually ARE a ton of people who seem to be leaving in droves, others stay playing with the core game but will not buy HoT. Do all of you not think that Anet must’ve kittened up here? It’s all “entitlement” for you?

I don’t think I’m a drone. I bought something I felt had value to me. I’m not telling you to buy it.

Sure I did. Just like I preordered the second Lord of the Rings movie on DvD before I saw it. I know its’ Lord of the Rings. I know the director. I wanted the set.
I don’t need a release date, because I’m not impatient. I’ll play it when it’s here. I know the features I’ve seen will give me entertainment. If I get 50 hours at of the expansion and I’m sure I will get at least that much, that means I’m paying 1 buck an hour for entertainment. That is logic.
DVD, meaning the movie already came out for months in theaters and has reviews VS MMO “expansion” with a company that’s acting quite shady, unconfirmed info, no release date and stupid “deluxe” editions that are overpriced.

Grats, you wasted 100 dollars on something no one will care at all.
Also, remember we STILL don’t have a release date and there’s so many minis that having Rev Rytlock won’t matter at all. Also the glider skin is barely useless unless you actively only use it for the look.

Quite true with the maps, but that makes me wonder when the heck will HoT come out since i’d imagine every one of those areas will get a beta [and prepurchasing it clearly says you have access to them].
