This is one of the bugs that has been bothering me the most. I would love to use the small UI setting but there’s some problems with it. One issue is that the trading post is unreadable with this setting turned on. The font is all garbled up.

Another annoyance is that player names for example do the following with their formatting:

Normal UI example:
Rytlock Brimstone[GUILD]

Small UI example:
Rytlock Brimstone
[GUILD]

The guild name stacks underneath the player name. Then what happens every now and then with certain character names is that the guild tag very rapidly alternates between stacked underneath and being normal and that’s definitely not working as intended.

Anyone else want to see this fixed ASAP? It’s been like this since the Betas….

New exploits?

My buddies and I once downed 3 people in a big open field inWvW. Finished them off and their bodies were laying there dead waiting to spawn again. We stood on them planning our next route. The 3 of them were all bunched together and it was an open field where no one can sneak up on us. All of a sudden, the 3 of them get up from the DEAD state and start attacking us. They were completely dead for a good 2-3 minutes…..

Someone please explain.

People are forgetting this has nothing to do with computer performance mainly. This is an issue with networking.

The amount of information the server is pumping out when 50 players run across each other is a lot. If it means that some players need to be stick figure men, though…..I would gladly take that over what’s going on now. Rather than the server having to figure out if a player is a warrior with so and so weapon, etc.

I’m tired of thieves being completely invisible while attacking. It’s stupid. I’m tired of engaging 3 people with my 2 guildies because it’s an easy fight only to have 10 people magically appear behind them. So stupid.

Arenanet, how do we now report cheaters?

Only options are:

Botting
Inappropriate character name
Spamming
Verbal Abuse
Scamming
Selling gold

Reporting them for any of these will not let the devs know what to look for. In fact, false reports can most likely get you in trouble.

There needs to be a report for cheating option and an ability to add in a comment or short description. This way the team can check their logs and possibly see something incriminating.

Botting sends the reported player something like a captcha and they have to enter it within a certain amount of time or they’re banned/probated for however many hours. Therefore, if you reported a real player for botting, nothing will come of it as they would just enter in the captcha. Use griefing or exploiting next time.

There is no exploiting or griefing option.

If you can get the report screen up you are able to report them for whatever it is they are doing. The names have nothing to do with it.

Did you even read my post? I bolded the part where I say there’s no option to report cheaters.

There was a cheater at 1am this morning from Dark Haven in their borderlands that would instant teleport from camping our main to the safety of the nearest tower instantly over and over within a few seconds. He would also fly around but since there’s no orbs to steal now, his mission is to try to annoy players leaving the spawn.

How can we report these people if we can no longer see their names when we report them? We have no report option for cheaters. Our only option was to report him for botting. There’s also no point in recording video because we don’t know who they are.

What do we do?

At around 1am today there was a cheater on Dark Haven lingering around the CD spawn near their tower. He was a sylvari thief with the mushroom head. I don’t think he was part of a guild otherwise I would have noted it down.

He would teleport around so you couldn’t kill him. He would be near our spawn and I would call target on him to show my party who was cheating. When they would attack him, he would teleport from our spawn to the nearest tower. Then when he would regen, he would teleport up to us and attack, then teleport away around us to taunt us.

This of course wasn’t shadowstep. He would teleport across an entire field instantly (without stealth) and do it once every second so he was impossible to pin down.

We all reported him for botting since Arenanet failed to implement an option to report for cheating.

This is completely annoying and it actually happens a lot. So much in fact that I was going to make the very same thread.

This mechanic needs to be tweaked. If I down an enemy player and my swings or AOE kills a mob or he does….it should NOT res him. That’s just silly.

Is the Knights Amulet bugged?

This actually really bothers me. I’m trying to experiment in the mists in PVP so that I know how to build my character for PVE/WvW and I can’t because the Knight’s Amulet in PVP gives you Power/Precision/Vitality rather than Power/Precision/Toughness like in PvE.

I’d like to hear the reasoning behind this as well….

WvW Turtling - Intended or Not?

Getting rid of the AOE cap would be the worst thing to happen to this game. If they did that then AOE would need a 10x reduction in damage at least or much smaller radius’s to the point where they aren’t really AOE. Otherwise you would have a few AoE classes that could defend against a giant zerg. A single necromancer could cripple an entire army with an 8k+ bleed and 2-3 necromancers could just flat out kill an army.

I’d rather have hard to kill stacks of people than fights were a handful of AOE classes kill an army.

What are you talking about? What kind of army stands in one spot together? Oh wait. That’s right! The kind of army that’s taking advantage of this turtling exploit.

Removing the cap on AOEs will not let my elementalist kill an army. Very rarely do I ever get a chance to hit 5 or more people bunched together on a bridge even if there’s a big zerg. Most of them roll out of my AOEs and I only down one. (who immediately get’s rezzed anyways).

If I can kill 20 people at once with my meteor storm, then they deserve to die for being so stupid. Or deserve to die for trying to exploit.

This turtling thing is a big issue with no counter.

"Culling issue" still affecting Thieves

Not only can a thief instant teleport to you and cause 11,000 damage from steal and then immediately do another 10,000 damage with cloak and dagger, but he can also attack while completely stealth due to this culling issue right after those attacks take place IF you survive them. This makes the thief completely broken.
