Hey,
This isn’t much of a work-around or a fix. But if you just let the client sit there invisible for a while and ignore it. EVENTUALLY it will pop up. Eventually. It took mine between 10-20 minutes to finally do it though.
Yep. Happening here too. Tried reinstalling the game as it fixed it last time it happened to me. But not this time.

Not to mention, you need to pay an additional $10 on top of the $50 package if you need that extra slot to play revenant.
That or delete one of your other characters.
I like to play around with roleplayers. Sometimes I like to take a max-size Charr, and /sleep on their leg while they stand there talking about whatever the day’s activity happens to be.
I dunno. I’ve met some roleplayers who take it well, and some who get really nasty about it.
Point Blank Shot is hard to dodge. Honestly, I just have sorta grown to “feel it coming”, and then take my dodge roll then.
At my rating, Rangers typically open with Point Blank Shot after they’ve sorta pew pew’d at you for a bit while they close a distance. So just sort of expect it then.
New Challenging Group Content! Lion’s Arch Minecraft!
Why don’t we just start with a better use for fractal relics?
Lol you’re all silly if you think this is the “big news” they are going to talk about on Friday. They have been covering HoT stuff the past 3 weeks or so; I’m positive it will be HoT related.
….so the rebuilding of Lion’s Arch will not happen in HoT according to you?
You know exactly what I’m saying; why would you even ask that?
Regarding frogs: was still HoT related. Taking Master tracks with those tribes opens up abilities you will use in HoT.
But I don’t think that would count as a “big” reveal.
At best it’s gonna be, “Workers are building the guild halls”

Remember when we had a week about frogs?
I do.
I all fairness, those were some awesome frogs.
The best frogs.

I must admit this caught me totally by surprise AND IT IS AWESOME!
Oh yes, scaffolding and wooden boards with no playable content whatsoever sure is awesome.
I’m really hoping that this isn’t the “big news” for the week.
They’re working on rebuilding Lion’s Arch. That’s not really news to anyone. And the NPC conversation about Hero-Tron being in charge of putting people to work kind of told us already that it was going to speed up soon. For this to be the big news would be … laughably bad.
You and I both know that this is probably it. The stream this week is just gonna be about “Oh man you can decide the names of the squares! Visionary!”
I must admit this caught me totally by surprise AND IT IS AWESOME!

NO PROBLEM. 1 YEAR LATER THEY ARE PLANNING TO REBUILD…
i give up.
Great…. Is this our special surprise?
…was kinda hoping for something we’d get to…. you know… play. I mean that’s great that they’re rebuilding LA finally, but uh… doesn’t really help the content drought.
Unfortunately Anet is struggling for money and players. China was a massive flop and most people have moved on from GW2. They simply don’t have the money or resources to provide content for the game anymore. They have all their eggs in the expansion basket.
Or at least that is the only reasonable explanation I can think of. Most MMO’s release major content updates every 2-3 months in ADDITION to releasing expansions… Not sure what Anet’s problem is…
Please, show us all these MMO’s that release major content updates every 2-3 months, I must have missed all of them.
You are quite the white knight, aren’t you.
I like to think the upright ‘humanlike’ charr we saw in gw1 were those who underwent ritual body alteration while growing, much like for example real life tribes using neck rings. It’d make sense since all the upright charr were mostly shamans.
I’d agree with you if the charr didn’t have excellent posture when they did their emotes. Just /laugh /salute /bow /yes /no
They all stand perfectly upright with a tall posture when they do them.
Suddenly: Halting Strike.
Whoops
I just think it’s funny how charr in medium armor without hair look like bananas if you look at them from the side.
People still don’t realize that ArenaNet abandoned working on the core game to create the expansion. You didn’t really think we’d still be getting updates, did you?
The only updates we get in the coming months will be because of HoT, because MMOs can’t include content in expansions without also backporting them to the core game otherwise you get client synchronization issues (essentially missing data) in areas where the two content sets overlap. Its a simple as that.
(The only alternative would be to run separate servers for HoT.)
If they could I’m sure they would save absolutely everything for the expansion and then say that its beacuse we asked for an expansion for so long that they had to completely change their development model to deliver it to us.
Companies always prioritize making money and conserving money.
Anyway, all of this should come as no suprise seeing as how the frequency and duration of “breaks” in the last years have gone up exponentially.
I wanted to respond, but I had to wait for you to finish editing first. haha…
At this point, Bellinda’s Greatsword and Rox’s Quiver might as well just stay in the store permanently.
-
gem store was updated, have fun with it
-
And dont buy the skins and minis all at once, so you have something to do at the weekend.
Yep.
But muh gem store
Unacceptable Performance GW2 needs optimized!

From the screenshot he provided it looks like its GPU problem. GTX 960 clocks are about 1200mhz for either memory and core, but his only works at 30-35% power while running gw2. I`d try different/newer driver
gawd u guys are hilarious , the cpu-z window is clipped from another image its just to prove I have a 960 gawd dont look at the clock speed.
“Don’t look at relevant information. Just look at the graphics card I have so that I can show it to you.”

I laughed so hard when I read your topic. Yeah go on, quit the game and blame someone for your performance. You are not the “big guy” in here to show off your machine.
Any Geforce card running at that frequency is either at power-saving state (mostly seen in laptop environment) or thermal throttling. Check your temperature, update your nvidia driver, rollback if you just did.
Anyway, it is not a reason to rage at a company and threaten to quit. Your approach just won’t work. I hope you have a peaceful life!
Basically, this.
I want ranger without a pet because I like ranger’s abilities and weapon attacks.
I just hate dealing with that stupid pet.
they should release an instrument that’ll interface with a midi device.
Probably not as easy as that, but it’d be awesome nonetheless. I’d buy it, at least.
There is no sense of Justice in Dragon Hunter, Its a Matter of Survival, not a matter of fighting for Morally. You could have just called it “Witch Hunter” and be done with it.
Now I understand you guys like to run your social experiments, or maybe have a cooperate head from NCsoft/nexon suggesting this , Thus making you unable to speak freely. So as a Free unbias person I can call your reasoning flawed. edit for (spelling/grammar)
No Thanks Jon.
except when it called WITCH HUNTER more people will be confused and up in arms about that.
Dragon Hunter is.. confusing at first, i guess something like Dragon SLAYER will be more fitting in lore theme. But all the support mechanics (and also, support bow spec play) kinda contradicts with more “violent” name. so they settled with “hunter”, kinda missed the spot and crossed the dome of ranger class.
if it were up to me, Dragonseeker is apt choice.
..but i’m no Anet, and i respect their reason. it’s just a name anyway.
Dragon Slayer is too high-concept for this community to understand.
har har har
I do agree with most, Anet should really expand their workforce, this stagnant months of no content is proof that they are unable to retain old players. Also they could work with better communication, since they usually ask for feedback but rarely act on it.
Easier said than done. Workforce costs money. You can’t expect the same amount of content for free than you would find in a subscription-based MMO. Many people play GW2 because it’s BtP. HoT will probably fill Anet’s bank account, so we will have a lot of new content released for a while (just like in winter 2012), until the next expansion. Some games are just not designed for hardcore players.
yes you can.
Arenanet makes as much money as many subscription based games.you are forgeting that f2p is actually one of the more profitable business models nowadays.
People often think companies offering b2p or f2p games are doing them some sort of charity.
So I feel like I bought Bellinda’s Greatsword for 400gems.
Why is this stupid fan 600 gems?
Or maybe a checkbox to hide event effects such as airplane mode last month?
I used to eat, sleep, breathe FF until I bought FFXIV.. That game failed horribly and just took money from their fans.. They recreated it into a realm reborn, I got closed beta access but it still wasn’t enough to convince me to pay a sub fee for that game. Seeing as they robbed me with the first one.
So while you might think it is a better MMO, It was the ending to all FF for me.
RIP FF you died after FF11
Yep. After what they did to Scholar in FFXIV, I just couldn’t bear to look at the game anymore.
Though people will most certainly throw a fit if they do.
“ermergerd mah prestige” or something.
I’m totaly fine waiting for the Hot expansion. But a event here and there would be nice. Preferably the Crown Pavilion and Queens Gauntlet, or Zephyr Sanctum , but that may be a little difficult lore wise, as it seems the Zephyrites are not in their best form right now (completely destroyed in other words :-p ).
How about an event in DR where there are a bunch of Aetherblade and Molten Alliance piƱatas and we have to beat them up till they drop candy and skins?
I agreed with most of this except for the 2nd to last bullet point. No trinity please. In any case, you can more or less make a trinity by customizing your gear and builds.
We in Guild Wars 2 do not worship any holy trinity. We focus all of our praise to our one true lord, Zerker, god of metas.
I hope you brought your fire blanket…
Better yet,
Players: We’d like it if things were happening
ArenaNet: Here’s a cool fan focus! Only $10
Difference between Chaos/Tormented and the Aetherized/Dreamthistle is that the latter two were removed completely while the former were raised to 5 tickets each. I think they said when they removed them that they wouldn’t be available that year anymore. I have absolutely no idea if they ever plan on releasing them again, though. Dreamthistle maybe considering the whole plant dragon thing. But unless they have an “In memory of season 1” event or something similar, I can’t see a reason for sets like Aetherized or Fused to return since the factions they’re related to aren’t really relevant anymore.
That being said, I shelled over 900g for the Aetherized greatsword, and I’d love for them to rerelease that set because I want to buy the rest of them.
I can’t wait till this beta event is over, and I get to read all the posts of people ranting about how they didn’t get a chance, or never were able to find a key.
Excuse me? How much HP do you think these turrets have? You crit them a couple times and they explode.
Crits do what, 200% bonus damage with some ferocity? 150% at the lowest? Making them vulnerable to crits was a huge nerf lol…
EDIT: Oh, I see what you’re saying. Turrets were dumb, this was deserved. That’s why they were nerfed. As an engineer main, they had it coming.
Gold in this game is expendable. Your leisure time is not.
Honestly, just buy the skin if you want it. I spent over 900 gold on an Aetherized greatsword, and I still want them to rerelease the set because I want the rest of them. How hard is it to get gold if you really want it? That’s the way I see it, at least haha
Edit: if you refuse to farm gold, then you probably shouldn’t spend it on such big-ticket items. :X
The set is supposed to be prestigious and add a bit of stats as a reward for hard work. Please don’t make it easier.
Tbh, if you have alts it is cheaper in the long run since you need one set for each build. E.g. you have an engi, thief, and ranger. The zerkers leather ascended coat is ~60-75g and that is with buying everything (excluding vision crystal ofc) so cuting that in thirds as if you were to buy 3 zerker coats is ~20-25g. Even if you play casually, that’s pretty easy.
The only thing that even remotely should get a “fix” is cloth. Especially for tailors.. Poor kittens
There’s nothing prestigious about something you can basically buy. Why do people care about prestige in a game as easy as GW2? lol… Not to belittle you but I made an ascended greatsword yesterday because I felt like it. So I sat down, threw together some gold and mats and built it in about 10 minutes. Not exactly my definition of “hard work”.
Don’t make ascended armor unless you’re really bored, desperately need agony resistance, or are just a completionist. The entire set only gives you a 2.5% or so increase in damage. Trinkets/weapons are far more worthwhile.
It’s kind of the issue where every class can sort of do everything. Every class can deal damage, heal themselves, provide some level of party support, and protect themselves.
Necro just doesn’t do those things as well as the other classes.
Let’s be honest. Ascended weapons really aren’t that expensive. 48-52g a piece assuming you buy everything, not including things you can’t buy, is really not that bad. It’s not like they’re asking you to shell over enough for Infinite Light or an Aetherpath skin for each ascended weapon haha…
If you’re a casual player who doesn’t play more than a few hours a week, then yeah, you’re probably gonna have trouble getting ascended weapons. But you’re really only missing out on around 6% or something damage.
I’m calling it now that the elite spec is literally just a greatsword user who can do it while in death shroud. So now instead of spamming 1 in DS, you can press additional buttons! New class mechanics!
I didn’t know that all characters have the same hit box, interesting. Thank you for that bit of info. However it still makes the asura harder to click on in a scrum of larger characters simply due to body blocking.
If it becomes a problem, try setting the enemy models to default models. It’s in the options menu somewhere. Might be the solution. Otherwise, uh… well, click better… or something. …?
I often forget there are achievement rewards.
I can’t speak for WvW, but as someone who plays a charr most of the time, I can say I’m often annoyed at how hard it is for me to see Asura. I play on a 28" screen at 4k, 1440p if the client’s acting up, and I have an immense amount of difficulty telling what weapons they’re using, or what abilities they’re using until their on top of me.
I’ve just come to the point where I just don’t let it bother me anymore. I play PvP mostly for free stuff anyways hahah
EDIT: Yes, you can set all characters to have default models, and that makes things easier. I just don’t do it because I don’t particularly like the aesthetic. I don’t play nearly seriously enough for it to matter.
I highly doubt anet will inject gold into the economy just to refund gold spent on traits. There’s no way that’s gonna happen…
I understood it as being able to max out up to three instead of up to two.
Was there a little thing about that I missed?
Edit: I just read it again and I see what you mean. Now I’m unhappy again. kitten
I don’t know how I feel about this. On one hand, maybe it’ll give me a reason to want to do map completion on more characters without hating myself.
On the other hand, I don’t like the idea of being stripped of all of my abilities, and being forced to re-unlock them all. Assuming that’s what they’re doing, of course.
