Maguuma – Predatory Instinct [HUNT]
Necromancer
Really just slows down the fight. Not much else. They still drop like rocks. Also, engi S proc has gotten people killed far more often than it saved them.
People still have trouble with condi? K.
Can’t tell if you’re weapon is going for is condi or power and this isn’t reflected in the traits either. I would just drop the condi.
Getting pulled so high up into the sky that the game kills you for leaving map boundaries.
I prefer staff eles over the crap most run today. But it needs to be zerk or close to it. Most seem to just not know how to not die.
Healers are not that welcomed in wvw, if you do not belong in a wvw guild. Pug healing is not something comms desire, but still if you are good at what you do, especially support melee ele, you will be accepted.
But lootbags are something else entirely. If you do not deal damage/tag, you cannot win a lootbag. There are squad options though, that is why I suggested joining a wvw guild and utilizing your potential to the limit.
To address the loot bags point. As long as you heal people that deal damage to enemies, you will also gain a loot bag.
To address the first point, Anet has struggled to come up with a fair way to help smaller groups against larger numbers, but the problem is: whatever benefits the little guy, benefits the zerg more. Not an easy thing to work around.
As they mentioned… Proofs will be used. As for cost, I see no reason for them not to cost the same. Make it 5K proofs and we’ll still have enough. But keep in mind, more proofs required, the more skill points they need to design in the open world. We won’t be seeing a rise of 2K…
Orly!?!???
It would be great if we could manually detonate our marks. Would also make the blast on staff usable.
Center quags of course!
If you think about it practically, dragon hunters have one of the most effective pulls in the game. If you are about to run into a gate, you should expect a CC bomb of some kind to try and prevent you from doing so. I would expect any dh to at least try and pull you away by spamming the key or what not. Since the tether is attached they will pull you. The effect of you clipping into the gate is pure random. This is not just gates though. Expect to be pulled at any point you would enter an area you would deem “safe”.
It’s not on purpose. The probability is just really high.
I’ll stop breaking their legs. Then you won’t need a splint.
I can’t really recommend anything but to build for it. I usually run a power build making use of spectral walk and armor. If I am using the reaper line and they get out of range, I immediately drop shroud and start axing them to death. Then when they try to come in, I swap to dagger to proc hydro, land immobilize and dive back into shroud if necessary.
Just don’t stay chasing melee range if you realize they’re kiting you. Swap ASAP to something that can hit them.
We all know that rifle is going to be a melee range support weapon.
In pugs I assume people know the mechanics and will not just gamble the last green ooze. I give them 1 grace wipe before I explain. If it fails again, they get kicked and start over. In t4 fractals, people should not have a hard time with this in the least, but you still see it…
And here I thought they all died in between evade frames.
I’ve posted about this before but we tend to use engineers to create attacks of opportunity. We tend to attack groups and target one at a time unless an opportunity presents itself to bomb a rez clump (generated by the engineer). Engineer using the rifle, took kit, and grenades as key items is used to cover the role we require as it presents very precise control of single targets as well as the ability to cleave a clump. Traits can vary, but we usually at least run tools for more frequent TK pulls.
Please Anet. Don’t downgrade our gear and prevent us from dynamic stat combinations.
I don’t really care if the damage is intentional or not, it’s perfectly fine if it is. However, if my AC is taking damage from Burning or Bleeding, I want to see that debuff on it. I know I can see it when my own team applies it to enemy siege, so it should be visible for those owning it too imo. I don’t want it to mysteriously take damage for unknown reasons. So this I would like a fix for.
Fair enough point. I don’t think retaliation has any indicator to the object it’s damaging. But I thought damaging conditions showed up, no?
Watch the cutscenes and know that Anet has already made their stance on dungeons clear. It is discontinued content.
If they don’t want to maintain content, it should not be in the dailies where it will be regularly interacted with.
As mentioned already, people wanted dungeon dailies to get groups going again. Anet did this but their stance remains the same. They are not reworking dungeons.
If it’s just you on an ac in a tower against a zerg, the outcome would’ve been the same no matter what you did.
How rich coming from a maguuma resident, when your VR guild been exploiting this non stop.
The outcome may been the same, but the effort of a smaller group to stall shouldnt be denied by a passive exploit that brings absolutely no skill play into the table.
Zero skill, zero strategy and zero ethics.
And worse of all, zero investment and zero personal effort.
And lets not forget the times when people didnt use the direct dmg components of the siege,it ended up with VR glitching through the gates (anz rings a bell for the last 500 match ups?).
Because god forbid an outmanned server stalls for 10 seconds more ,even with an hour of proactive building and carefull placement.
Well, we don’t really pay attention to guilds on our own server so I will take your word for that I guess. It becomes a bit contradictory at a point. People build to kill arrow carts like this because arrow carts can be built in places that can’t be hit directly. If the arrow carts are guild/superior, they can do incredible damage to large groups of players.
The way I see the situation described, one person is outraged because he caused the arrow cart to take far too much damage from on-hit effects. This in itself could be mitigated assuming the user has a decent view of the people he is hitting. You should be able to tell if players have large amounts of retaliation, or if guards are blocking. Only firing haphazardly and not being aware of what is happening will get an arrow cart killed that quickly.
They got rid of our guard stacks for this reason. Let’s get rid of the rest of the wvw masteries and the pve ones just to make it fair.
L2P.

It just speaks inexperience.
All these talks about cleanses and only 1 comment about prevention in the history of the forums (probably)… Noice.
Don’t even need to compare this to other games. Just compare the different game modes. Even if I just needed ascended gear for wvw, it is faster still to get it all through random drops in fractals than getting it in wvw.
All those items do drop. Drops, kegs, etc all drop from kills and even rank-ups. They auto consume themselves when you get them.
You will never see them hit your inventory. You will only ever see the extra wexp numbers for a brief second above your head when you get them.
Yes scepter is used, but people probably want axe for aoe corrupt. I never heard anyone saying this myself. I personally use a power build that has far more corruption ability and burst potential. Real good for quickly killing key targets and that uses axe though. :/
I have been plagued with disconnects only from the GW2 application for over a week. It is random and usually follows huge ping spikes.
First, I assume you are going for pve parts of the game, if not, then which other parts?
Second, do you have the Heart of Thorns expansion?
Fear centered on wall seems like an alright idea.
Can’t watch video right now, but I just talk to blue vendor and buy 30 deep discounted keys every day. Once I approach a full stack I buy the number of encryptions relative to my keys and open them all. I vendor trash the trash and sell on tp what can be sold. You make 40g minimum per time you do this and I just buy the boxes because I hate farming them.
I salvage all gear and store all crafting mats which I later refine into high selling materials since I really have no need for any of them. In no time, you make hundreds of gold with no effort.
+6.
Wvw players complained about having to pve to get what they required for wvw. Now that (hopefully) this update will address that complaint, the pvers will be in wvw for the wvw rewards. Not because they need to wvw to get what they need for pve. Not the greatest comparison.
Nah. I am all for stat swaps. Would make life a hell of a lot easier. On the other hand, we all know the first title of this game is “Fashion Wars 2”.
I just hope the skins for light T3 look a hell of a lot better than T1-2.
What’s with reviving this old as kitten thread? :/
That’s what us necros do. Revive old dead things.
Well I have to say…. You got me there.
+1
Condi teef one shots things?
Condi teef kills things!?!!?
K.
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!!!!!!!!!
No.
Yes, you will need the originals. Much like you can’t toss a Sunrise with a skinned Twilight and get an Eternity. Each item still is its original named item.
When we use engineers in our group we don’t really use them for support in the traditional sense. We usually have them in rifle and toolkit and build to burst, but mainly to provide opportunity and control over targets.
Small group/roaming groups I assume? If so sounds like a solid idea.
Yes, probably should have mentioned, but it is especially useful when looking to create attacks of opportunity in a zerg fight when you’re essentially running a pick group.

And here I recall bad skill lag since launch. :/
But that was because of people actually playing the game instead of this wasteland we have now just causing lag from Overabundance of spammy skills. Two completely different lag causes
Different cause or not, the lag was there since the start and player numbers have seen a decline anyways.
As long as you aren’t a zero damage scrapper like we always see, we won’t laugh. We will probably even accept you!
Hey with the way mag runs through people they might as well just use their mops (FT) to clean things up and pick up the bags :b
Really though Engi’s should be right around most Revs in their damage output in my experience.
I agree. Just, not once have I run into one that I actually have to avoid the hits on my mara teef. :/
We’ll get…
- Center quags for more UW combat
- LFG?
- portable cannons
- movable siege
- no siege decay
- siege health increased by 700%
- triumphant upgraded armor bait hung above our heads out of reach
- all speed is combat speed
- several deadly cliffs added onto the existing maps
- sand
- a pop
- a water gun
- and some beer nuts for the ride
- and a rubber duck
And here I recall bad skill lag since launch. :/
