Some of the so-called Elitists are actively helping people already.
There’s this guild that accepts any and all newbies or not so newbies that are willing to try and learn, and their only requirement is having a positive attitude, as far as I know. They have been doing this for about half a year, perhaps even longer.
There also exist many sites that show players what dungeons and fractals are like and how to beat them.
The least a new player can do is watch a video of a group of people completing the dungeon they’re planning to run before joining a party. It’s common sense.

I wouldn’t take snowblind second either. Harpy fractal all day.
This.
Those zerkers are just dumb. Sorry, but they do.
The irony.
Let’s just forget it altogether, then. A quiz would not be appropriate to decide on that.
We don’t build or scale things up, we just test them and let the scientists and technicians deal with all that technomagical mumbojumbo.
If anything we tested in a mission resulted in success and is not revisited later on, we can conclude that it worked and will be used in the future.
Certain someone is making me want to bash my head against a wall until either one of them breaks.
Don’t stop on account of that … PLEASE ;P
Kinda off-topic, but pick one:
- Democrat.
- Republican.
I won’t go any further or deeper into this. I’d just like to know it for reasons.
Certain someone is making me want to bash my head against a wall until either one of them breaks.
So, getting kicked from a group equals to aggression?
No, as with everything, when you join a group you’ve signed a tacit agreement to abide by the requirements stated in the LFG ad. If you fail to meet the expectations, you might or might not get kicked, depending on the group’s tolerance.
As Tree said, time is just as valuable as money, if not more. Some people will be okay to coach you/help you get through things, while some others will not think it’s worth it.
This is not exclusive to GW2 and has happened/will happen in other games.
When it comes to sPvP and WvW, people will not kick you because they can’t. Instead, they may or may not verbally abuse you in an attempt to make you quit, depending on their tolerance as well.
His interface displays that he’s in a group with other four people, which means that he couldn’t have been replaced.
I’ve had this happen to me and I think it can be fixed by relogging, closing the client or exiting/re-entering the map.
That doesn’t answer my question, at all. Im reporting a game bug. the fearing skill of the Legendary Sand Giant should NOT affect my illusions, at all. So, is this something that can be fixed; or not?
Your Illusions are newly created NPCs -> NPCs have to obey certain mechanics.
Fear is one of such mechanics | Stability will prevent the application of Fear and other CC -> Your Illusions (NPCs) do not possess Stability -> Your Illusions are Feared.
You see, one thing leads to the other.
Tune up tomorrow at eleven to discuss gravity, fall damage and their effects on you!
So…anet. Where can i upgrade my Guild / Lightning / Sun / Wind Kite that i paid money/gems for to match the new free kite’s buff?
Don’t hold your breath on that one.
Edit: My information was outdated.

Because game mechanics.
Next!

So it has begun.
It was clearly mentioned that the Tank-Healer-DPS Trinity had no place in this game, yet you’re talking about its absence as if it were some sort of oversight.
There’s nothing wrong about wanting to play how you want, but you’ll have to find like-minded individuals to do so.
Yes and no, they said they weren’t going to do the dedicated tank, healer and dps system, but not once did they say this meant you had to play as a zerker or you’d get nothing but abuse for it. I’m not saying bring back the holy trinity, I’m saying people should get to play support if they want to and not get kicked from parties
Well, you see, everyone is free to do as they will, as long as it doesn’t interfere with others’ freedom.
Just as you’re not forced to wear certain gear and run a determinate build, other players have no obligation of accommodating to your playstyle.
You can’t please everyone at all times.
I’d suggest banding with other players that share your tastes and creating your own groups; your party, your rules.
Yes, they do exist and all that is needed to find them is some effort.

I too really love GW2, and I agree that there is a serious flaw in their game design. I love the Warcraft series. Like, Horde and Alliance, constantly battling for dominance over Azeroth and its numerous resources. I want to command powerful armies against my enemies in a RTS perspective, beat every single campaign and go against other players. I want to play how I want, too.
I wish they would have mentioned that such features as RTS mechanics wouldn’t be in the game. All they mentioned was that the traditional trinity wouldn’t be in the game. Why have I been so misled into thinking I’d be able to build cities and command armies in this game?
Am I the only one who thinks that boringness sounds stupid and that OP should’ve employed Boredom instead? Or perhaps something more clever like Points of Disinterest/Indifference.
kitten, OP, give your threads better names.
Don’t know if a thread of this already exists (sorry if it does) but whenever i sheath or wield my weapons, pistol/shield, as engi the backpack i have on gets attached and dragged with my shield and then goes back to where it belongs…on my back. image of what i mean if this doesn’t make sense.
It’s a common bug that occurs with any profession that can wield a shield.
I believe the shield and the back item occupy the same slot when sheathed or something like that.
That risk is present whenever you buy a slot from a seller.
Sellers face a similar risk, too, which is getting kicked out of their own instances by bitter/envious people and having to start over.Still, it’s better to let one guilty man walk free than to unjustly punish an innocent.
Thing is, we didn’t buy anything, it’s purely “arah p3 lfg”. We got kicked AFTER reaching the final boss, meaning we DID put in effort in all the boss before that, including Lupi.
They used lfg to get people to work for them then SELL the dungeon and said they soloed it. I’m perfectly fine with soloers getting their respect and all but selling have obviously attracted undesirable behaviors and affected the game in a very undesirable fashion. I totally lost my trust in these so called soloers unless they have the vid to back it up.
Now even when doing lfg for just for the fun of it, I need to watch out for people like these (especially confident people who said they soloed it) because I don’t know if they just want to use me as a tool for cash grab. When we condone selling or money dealing in dungeons, things get ugly. I don’t know if there is a way to fix it or benefit true soloers but for now I’m certain selling affects even people who just want to do dungeons normally. But just for these decent soloers who really topped the techniques/mechanics of the game, I salute to you.
The best you can do is watch out for obvious red flags, such as two people from the same guild, especially if they’re suspiciously quiet/distant. Not many are cynical enough to share a joke with someone they’re about to backstab.
Still, I hope you don’t ever find yourself in such an undesirable situation in the near future.
Good luck.

Back to page 1 you go.
Though this is about those two NPCs, I’ll just go ahead and say Tybalt.
I wouldn’t mind dragging around Trahearne in an effort to get him killed.
lol, poor Trahearne. The man’s the most hated being in all of Tyria, and his only sin is not being a kitten.
And the terrible voice acting.. when he talks he just sucks all the atmosphere out of the moment.
This is a problem pretty much during the whole PS. I would blame whoever directed it, rather than the voice-actors/actresses.
Only if ANET introduces a Rapper Costume.
Oh no, the thread broke.
You realise that entire part of the dialogue can be skipped. In fact the dialogue trees give you a grand total of 4 options to skip the dialogue that so offends you. So you are basically getting upset that you have to read completely optional words that you specifically chose to read.
You can’t skip the dialogue at Fort Selma because it’s mandatory; you have to sit through it if you want to progress the story.
But that’s not really the point. The point is this: I don’t want to skip bad dialogue, I want to enjoy good dialogue.
Oh, we’re not talking about Fort Salma’s dialogue here.
At the end you can skip the whole KasJory drama, but you opted to continue reading, so that’s your problem.
Also, it is really the point, because while I don’t particularly like the whole drama,
a) It is part of character development.
b) Some people do like it and do care about it.
So, asking for its removal is selfish and spending part of your time complaining about it and defending your point of view is child-ish and pointless, as you’re wasting more of your time here than you did reading/listening to them.
Warriors have immensely good survivability, mid-tier damage and a really easy playstyle, whereas other classes such as thieves and elementalists have less survivability and a lot of damage.
So, people play anything other than a war because:
- Fun.
- Are better at the game.
I think the problem here is that they get more AP by having 2x of the same Legendary than a person that has three different legendaries.
To me it kinda sounds like a mock title.
I’d assume that EDs are almost common knowledge, considering that LA was attacked by Zhaitan, nothern Ascalon was crystallized by Kralkatorrik, Northern Shiverpeaks corrupted by Jormag and the frequent sightings of Destroyers everywhere.
Zhaitan’s fall was also a large event that was celebrated almost in every map (Dragon Bash).
And finally, our characters are commanders of the Pact lore-wise, so it is safe to assume that they’re more knowledgeable than the average Joe.
What are you guys even talking about? Did you play ANY game that had a decent story?
The Storytelling in this LS isnt even acceptable anymore: 98% of the story is delivered through boring dialogue and text, what absolutly kills the tension, the charakters are generic at best and have no depth whatsoever. The death of majories sister was just a joke.We didnt know anything about her, why should we care that she is dead? The game tried to make us feel with majory and failed completly doing so.
And to get the achievments, we have to repeat the story! This is the worst content recycling mechanic I have seen in years…
The update sshowed once again that A-net is incapable of delivering a story
They have created a great mmo, but the living story is disappointing at best!

“STOP LIKING THINGS I DON’T LIKE!”
The thing is, you can’t please everyone. Once you introduce something, different groups of people come to like it, while others hate it. If in a subsequent patch you were to change it, you would displease the former and please a fraction of the latter, as a large portion of them do not even know what they want and somehow expect ANET to find out and give it to them.
I personally do not mind being called “the boss”, because I know that it’s only used because they can’t have the NPCs call our characters by their names.
Guys, we need to file a petition to have the emergency telephone number changed; 911 offends me.
Har.
I’m laughing inside at all the CRPers who advocate quaggen porn campaigns…
wat
Its better you don’t know…
I kinda hate my morbid curiosity right now.
By employing the Seer abilities I learned last season from all those people predicting how bad the next patch/LS chapter, regardless of having no evidence at all, I foresee that we won’t be called “boss” next chapter and then everyone will cry about feeling unappreciated and unwanted.
ANET should make it re-watchable.
Perhaps giving it the terminal treatment like they did with the Fractal cinematic.
Stop trying to turn this into something it’s not. Kindly take your straw men elsewhere.
I seem to have hit a nerve.
Although, telling me to get out rather than show how I’m jumping to the wrong conclusion only makes my suspicion stronger. Oh well.
I see what you did there.
Also, the OP should just shrug it off and move on. There are many things I don’t like in several games, but it usually takes a lot less effort to ignore them and continue doing my stuff than creating threads expressing how much I hate X character or Y mechanic.
It adds to character development in the end.
I say, ANET should make it skippable after you’ve completed it for the first time. I can understand how having to wait for a dialogue to finish before you can do your stuff could irk somebody.
There are always silly complaints. Always.
You’re supposed to craft your armor and consider anything useful that drops as a bonus/cost savings.
Crafting armor was sapping my will to live. Thought Fractals would be a less painful alternative.
Fractal drops will sap your will to live twice as hard as crafting did.
I would love them to up the damage from the lasers about 5000% so that this tactic was no longer viable.
Again, good groups will kill the golems before they get touched by the lasers, while bad groups will be stuck there forever.
I’m not entirely sure of how hard those things hit, but increasing their damage as much as you suggested would probably cause them to oneshot anyone and then every casual/bad player would cry about it being too hard. Hue.
(edited by FenrirSlakt.3692)
Oh, thread. What are you doing on page 2? Looks like you need a push.
Plus: I still get nervous everytime I am in a group with Lilith because sooner or later she will invite some forum legend and I just know I will screw up badly and make a fool of myself. sigh
I know, right….
Seconded/Thirded.
Not that Lilith herself isn’t already a forum legend in her own right…
OK, and now I cut the fanboiism here before it gets out of hand.
fourthed
Well, I’d say they’re up to par with DE 1.0. I’m not sure of how many times I’ve had to scoop Logan off the floor.
There has to be a better way to do this. It shouldn’t require such specific build combos.
It doesn’t, but respeccing is free, so why not?
If the game was dying their PvP players would be leaving .. oh, right, already happening.
If the game was dying their PvE players would be leaving.. ah, right, already happening.
If the game was dying there would have been server merges.. Oh , right.
I think OP has a valid point.
People come and go, because you know… the game is free once you’ve acquired it.
Also, people have been requesting underflows forever, and ANET delivered; that’s the function the megaserver system fulfills, basically.
It’s no wonder that you guys find the zones empty, though. With such a repellent attitude and bitter point of view, I’d steer away from you as well.
There is only one important value what you feel is best looking or best that you can do if you let others values be more important then your own or let other chose what is good or bad then your always going to come up short in the end. So kindly get over your self make your hero look the way you want and stop judging others for not having “hard to get” skins etc.. in a GAME for fun.
It’s cute that you feel like you speak for the entirety of all gamers everywhere when you say the things you do.
He’s right, though (Looks-wise, at least).
Taimi actually kinda seems like she might have a place in the story now, and she seems to be getting a bit more personality. I’m a fan of that.
My personal theory is that Taimi is Omadd’s daughter, thus her obsession with Scarlet.
Wouldn’t that cause her to be vengeance-obsessed, rather than fangirl-obsessed?
Rangers are left behind. Two skills which make the ranger invulnerable, both do not work.
Invulnerability has never prevented environmental damage, such as lava (and now quicksand).
Try using that elite spirit that resses the downed?
