Heck ya!

I did a final overseas tour before I retired from the army. I’d have been extremely kittened if my 15 months away from this game resulted in my being penalized because some self important POGUE wanted my stuff.

Sure sucks to come late to the game and not have the imagination to name your toon, but someone beat ya to it. get over it, adapt and overcome, don’t snivel.

Still playing same as always.

The game is fun, the game is inexpensive entertainment, the forum doesn’t represent the gamers I know and play with in game.

I’m glad the whiners and whingers (of which I am occasionally a part of) palaver here rather than in-game for the most part.

I love roaming the open world – its quite scenic, events pop up – it’s fun to me. I have my gear all done, so I simply enjoy ‘smelling the roses’ as it were.

I do my fractals, Dungeons, WvWvW too, but roaming the open world is where I find my greatest enjoyment.

Thankfully my guild recently is full of new and returning players, who I like being a guide to for map completion, jump puzzles etc.

Competition isn’t the be-all-end-all for me. I know it is for others. The PVE world is what you make of it.

I hope something comes along to do with my mini collection. I did love the old GW1 game.

I’m all for anything. Bring on the “Adventure” or mini-game or whatever Anet! Please!

Ok, I’ll answer for myself. I’m an old retired guy, starting to get a bit arthritic, and I have all day every day for myself. As an grumpy old guy I have a hard time enjoying modern TV shows (see I’m also a curmudgeon!) and have since retirement migrated my at home sittin’ on my rear time to games. (Games aren’t new to me either – I started my computer gaming hobby on an Apple IIe back in the 70s)

I love leveling new characters and keeping a character true to its past (the original idea of the build at creation). I don’t like to swap specs around. Just a personal preference on my part.

My goal at start was like many, to have one of each class, but as I played with different races I had the desire to fiddle with the racial traits and story lines a bit. So I experimented and played around on new characters. I love that.

X hours spent on one character or spread over 50 is the same amount of time ‘wasted’. This is entertainment and fun pure and simple. It’s non-productive in every other aspect than that of pleasantly wasting time.

Gaming is a fantastically economical hobby. By far the least expensive of any of my other hobbies. Through games I now have good friends all over the planet. It’s not all fighting and pew-pew, it’s socializing with friends.

Well those are my personal reasons for having so many characters.

US law allows a thing called ‘Puffery’. Look it up. I think you may be surprised what is and is not lawful.

I buy tons of stuff I want with gold to gem conversions. It’s remarkably easy to generate gold as you play. A new character slot should only be one or two evenings of hard play/gathering for a level 80 to get.

I bought it the moment it was up for sale. $100 worth of it.

I have been and will continue to be one of the ‘whale’ type players when it comes to this game I love. If you don’t like the pricing structure that’s your call, but please don’t tell me how to spend my money. How I spend my money is my business. I like what Anet has done, think they have provided me a great game, and look forward to continuing that relationship.

This hobby is cheaper than every other hobby I have or have had. I have fun in game. That is the value to me.

Have you renewed a hunting license lately, bought a box of ammo or a new rifle, priced a new motorcycle, payed for good seats at a pro sporting event, taken a date out for drinks and dinner. Quibbling over this low price is crazy stupid IMHO.

Anet please put more goodies up in the gem store so I can continue to support this game.

I’ve been having similar issues of late and that work-around has worked for me on Asuran characters.

Welcome to the game.

Just as in life some folks are pleasant and some aren’t. I’ve found most to be nice enough, those that really get on my nerves I just set to ignore. (Right click their name in chat to do so.)

My experience has been that once I settled in and found a couple of good Guilds composed of like minded players my attention focused on guild chat and my noticing of map and say chat diminished greatly, making them less of an issue for me.

If the devs can mess around with WvW progression skills to make new WvW players feel like they’re not left behind then the devs can make similar concessions to players who play the rest of the game more than crafting. WvW players complained about that change, and the devs cared none at all so, let people who spent all their time and money crafting Ascended complain a little after allowing for more active ways to acquire the gear. It’s not even giving it away or making it easier, it would simply mean providing the top stats through the different areas of activity.

Go down to one of the face tabs and a zoom in/out icon comes up, zoom out and it will be ok.

Man this is all taking me back two years in time to the great Ascended gear introduction riots. I almost quit the game over its introduction, but didn’t. I did struggle to make my ascended gear at first, but it became easier as time passed. I’m no where as miffed as I was about it years ago.

The hard part is armoring up your main, the time gating hurts as you want it NOW. For me on alts I just went slower allowing my mats to build over time and making the armor as I could.

I still wish it had never been introduced. I don’t think there is a way to change it now without major pain to many players. If it becomes easier to acquire by too much older players will feel hurt and resentful.

It is and always has been a leg up on anyone not wearing it. Diminish that and folks who made it again will be kittened off.

I have no idea what possible a solution to this is other than just leave it be and let everyone suffer through making it.

Bought Ultimate as soon as it was offered. Now the hard part commences, the wait until it goes live.

Also waiting impatiently for this coming Tuesday so I can figure out my new builds and gearing.

I took a break from GW2 a while back and tried ESO.

It was a trip into disappointment and frustration. Go ahead and try ESO, I think you’ll probably move on to yet another game or return to GW2 after you have leveled a character or two in ESO.

I got all my ultimate pre-order stuff after changing characters in game.

Bought Ultimate. Quite happy to do so, computer gaming is a super inexpensive hobby compared to my other hobbies where I may drop a grand or two in a month.

Where I live a good dinner meal in a restaurant is well over $50. Gassing up my Bronco is over $100.

This game is a super value for entertainment time for me. No regrets at all.

I’ve been a gamer all my days, pen and paper, pong, arcades, miniatures, I even have an original copy of H G Wells " Little Wars" book published in 1913.

Yes I thought about this point you are making and I realized I would rather not give my personal credentials out just to prove who I am seeing how this is just a post on a forum for an event that occurred in a game. Absolutely amazing complaint. Are you offended that REAL planes are still flying about in the REAL sky? What about the victims of wars ongoing and yet the game is all about killing. OP are you sure this is a sane environment for you to be experiencing?

A game that has no real correlation with reality. If you think this game does you need to stop, unplug, and take a walk outside and experience something real.

I see no correlation at all between this fantasy game and reality.

I’m a combat vet – should they stop all the killing in games as it is insensitive to me with my experiences with death and killing?, Of course not, that would be ludicrous.

Grow a thicker skin OP, or maybe games where we go about hacking things up with swords to kill them just isn’t for you.

It’s just 70g. If you play the game for a few days, hopefully having fun doing so, you’ll reacquire that gold.

Flying about Lornar’s Pass and diving off precipices is a blast. Swimming is crazy fun doing banking turns and immelmans.

This effect would be a grand addition to our Tonics.

I just report and let Anet sort it out. I do applaud Anet for sticking to its guns about its rules. I report anything that that I find bothersome or rude.

My encounters with dialogue that bothers me is actually lower in this game than any game I’ve ever played. I have noticed an uptick of vulgarity lately in cities though. Trust in Anet to police those buggers, they do a good job if the miscreants are reported.

Best of all worlds is to use the guild chat tab so you only hear your friends and folks in close proximity to you, not the troll on the other side of the map.

It’s off and on for me. Been kicked four times, rolled back once, had the load screen freeze twice, and had the loader fail to connect multiple times. When I can get in the TP is either totally not working or has a long delay to it.

I hope they get this fixed for tomorrow. I’m giving up tonight.

I’m in the same situation unfortunately.

I’m affected by this as well, but find it kind of funny. My big Norn male using phrases from other races, but all female lol.

I know its a bug and will eventually get fixed, so I’ll just enjoy it while I can.

More ‘rugged’, ‘battle worn’, ‘older’, and ‘ugly’ faces – all the pretty/handsome 20 year old looking faces bother me.
