43 characters, hard to recall off hand but I’d say 12+ 80s, a pile over 50, and few under 20.
What can I say? I love this game and like creating and leveling characters.
It’s hard for me to believe but I do now kind of have a main. He is the 4th of 5 Rangers I leveled to 80. An Asuran Ranger. 336 hours on him over the past 5 months. I’m glad I found my comfort zone main character wise in game. Leveling all the others was fun and insightful (and continuing).
Most of my character creation has followed a plan of wanting one of each profession per race, but sometimes when I hit a wall with one (or all) I make another on a whim. If they are not satisfying come about level 20 they get deleted and a new one springs up (hitting level 20 takes me a day, two at most).
I have explored all the various personal story paths I think with all three Orders. Hopefully I’m mistaken in that and another untraveled path or two are still awaiting discovery.
My acct has 2,807 hours over 10 months.

For some laughs push the guy into the water. That was a fond memory for me from the launch of the game.
It has always been there.
What is to discuss? It is done. BAM!
It doesn’t matter what I think, Anet will do as they see fit. I’m fine with that.
It’s their game, their vision. I’m fine with that.
If they seek ideas on how to do or not to do things based on player feedback I’d rather they polled each account holder and not rely on the forums.
Become the Master of Ceremonies for events you plan, using your gold as incentive to make other players jump through hoops.
We as players need to somehow devise a plan to ensure the vote is an absolute tie, then we could wonder/pontificate/complain if we should get both sets of rewards or none! Forum posters heaven.
That’s what the game is for right? Predictions about how the game is going to be great/destroyed by a change, arguments about how to split hairs, and endless complaining from every possible viewpoint seems to be what these forums are about. Everyone knows these forums are the real game.

I’m at 7k and change on achievements (top 10% of players). I got them just by playing the game without intent to fulfill them for achievement points. I do, however admit to playing the game too much.
I do do the new content as it’s new and fresh. I usually get my dailies done just goofing around.
I will admit to using the achievements panel on Jumping Puzzles, not to max them out but to find ones I had overlooked.
In doing my daily today I managed to upgrade 2 to superior. That is starting with 20 majors.
Sounds like you just had a bad day with the RNG gods.
For me a mostly PvEer who had dabbled a fair amount in WvWvW it would take a denerfing of my Ranger shortbow range. Give me my range back and I’d be super happy to go back and fight some more.
Absolutely not! No.
Silly idea.
It is absolutely amazing that the mechanism for obtaining the skins unlocked on an account is so hard for some to figure out.
It is revolting however that people who are unable to figure this simple system out vent vinegar on Anet before simply asking how it works in a reasonable tone.
I have 43 Characters (Yes I’m crazy).
I have 5 rangers and 5 warriors at level 80, one of each race. All the other classes only have a few at 80. Why? They are the classes I most prefer to play. (and that is a highly subjective answer)
Since you have eight characters I’m assuming you have one of each class but you didn’t specify. I’d ask you which you prefer the most. If you couldn’t choose I’d ask you for your total hours played on each (/age) and recomend that you try your most played class on a different race.
My real heartfelt advice would actually be to buy 32 more character slots to try them all out! (Wait for character slots to go on sale again) We altaholics are always wanting the number of players with our obsession to grow, so we’ll feel more normal.

I don’t think I could be happy in a game with only one character. I have 43 now.
The character I play the most is my Asura Ranger, so were we restricted to have only one that would be it, but I also wouldn’t be playing a game with that restriction.
Asura because their coments crack me up, are small so they seemingly move faster (I know it’s an illusion), have the ractial abilities I think are the most usefull, and because they have crazy pointy little teeth.
Ranger as I have always prefered ranged combat to melee in all my games, even though recently nerfed my most preferred weapon in the game is still the ranger shortbow. A close second for me is mesmer.
I have no preference on orders. I have played through all of them and along each of the varoius permutations of their stories. My selection of order now that I have played all the stories boils down to either weapon skins or armor skins that I might feel fit a particular character.
tldr: Asura Ranger Any

Come to NSP I have 3 characters decked out in it!
I’d like to reverse the process. I’ve truly enjoyed playing the game and so will buy $100 in gems to support the game on their one year anniversary!
I realy think I should be thanking Anet not the other way around.
I’d like a cigar head armor skin with a smoke effect for my short fat norn to sport.
My ranger doesn’t stink and my Engineer has a melee kit. Are you sure we are playing the same game?
a lot of this that and the other, but for sure I’d have free pizza Tuesdays and ice-cream Fridays for the staff. (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays would have mandatory athletics hours to keep the staff fit
)
As a literal question, my answer is that no matter what Anet may do or not do someone will post negatively.
Different folks have different perspectives and desires, the internet inflates egos to the point of absurdity sometimes, and there are many idiots who think they are geniuses who know better than all others.
I would be shocked in this day and age if they were not criticised for posting anything as well as for not posting at all.
Cheers!
Probably not, but for purely negative ones who are just spouting off ignore them. I’m sure sour grapes posts (aside from constructive criticism ones) will be taken for what they are by Anet.
Game forums require one to keep an eye on reality while looking at the rants and trust that the pros who manage these forums have the judgment to see which posts have merit and which don’t.
OP, all classes are viable for what you discribe (hearts, exploring, vets), the one that is most fun for you could be any so I suggest trying a class to level 20 or so and if it doesn’t fit you start another class.
Due to the exploring bit I’d suggest starting with a class that has a speed boost built in as a passive trait.
Warning – this can cause altitis – I have fortysome characters… BEWARE! (and have FUN!)
Careful analysis of the shoe scuffs and cigar buts in and around the market area of Lions Arch on all servers has lead me to conclude the answer you are looking for is 42.
But seriously, why does it matter?
I had this issue before.
Support rectified it quickly when I submitted my ticket, like in under 5 minutes quick!
They told me a way to work around the built in monthly spending limit is to not save your credit card info, but to type in the number each time. If you’ve hit the limit the solution is to make a ticket or use a different credit card.
Good luck!
This was a fantastic puzzle!
I’m horrible at these things but this one was great fun! I went splat so many times, only to rescued almost immediately by others near my point of impact, all the time with folks cracking self-deprecating jokes. The crowd was great!
Actually I think I derived my most fun simply by being in a large pack of folks all failing so hard at the same task the we had to laugh.
Getting to the chest felt great!
Now to go punish myself by trying for those pesky goggles…
Awesome puzzle and a heartfelt thumbs up to those that made it.
Bring back the skills and skill collection so I can build my own tray!
I got 7 last night with 6.5k standard koffers opened.
The question is did you “lose” that gold or “spend” that gold.
Grow up OP.
The absolute fastest way to acquire gold is with a credit card. Buy Gems and convert to gold.
You did want fast right?
Yes, SERIOUSLY!
Why should anyone put up with bigotry and racism?
Luckily the 4th of July is coming soon. I plan on eating hotdogs, apple pie and drinking warm domestic beer while robotically mashing my fireworks buttons. I have 1.5k of them, I may get fat!
I bought 6.5k standard koffers on the TP and got 7 tickets.
Koffer price started at 1.17s and ended at 1.27s ea, a bit over 3 gold per 250 stack on average.
I turned the thousands of resultant candies into cakes and jawbreakers and sold on TP for a return of about 18g.
have 67 minies to sell at a later date hopefully over 20s ea.
Now what to do with 1.5k bound fireworks…
Is this for Light, Medium, and Heavy armor? Has the armor been transmuted?
I see this only on Med chest, leg, and foot armor. PvP as well. This the case?Thank you!
For me it is male human medium OoW boots that have been transmuted in PVE.
How does one find out gameplay hours?
/age
I’m at 2.6k
While that may seem excessive I’m retired and on disability, not much more than in house activities I can do anymore. See you all in game. Cheers.
Same issue for me. Red undyable daggers on boots.
Human medium armor.
bugged on a human male medium boot too
My “Whispers Boots” were once fully dyable, no longer. The daggers on the boots are now undyeable and bright red. This change happened with the patch today (25 June).
This is happening on a human male character with medium armor.
It must be a bug as they are absolutely hideous now.
Such a shame, I’ve been wearing these for almost as long as the game has been live. I shall not be wearing them in this state.
Man I was so looking forward to assailing the trees across Tyria. Now I’ve gotta wait and satiate my frustrations by killing that Troll in Queensdale a few hundred more times…
At least we know it’s coming! Cheers all.
Many thanks ANet!
Two for me. Got two sword skins.
I’ve deleted characters to create a new character with the same name before. On all those occasions the name was available immediately after deletion. It should go smoothly for you.
These were years old names from GW1 that I really cared about keeping, so I know how important a name can be.
The same situation is happening on NSP.
As of now 36 characters, 12 level 80’s and I’m tempted to buy yet another char slot this evening.
My solution to your dilema is to create yet another alt! I have found it quite fun playing a class I’ve already leveled to 80 and geared in a diferent race. Give it a shot and maybe you’ll become addicted to!
Not new weapons per se, but the ability to use land weapons underwater if appropriate, and also opposite, using underwater weapons on land.
Would I buy an expansion?
Yes. I would buy expansions in a heartbeat if made. I’m having too much fun with this game to even consider denying myself more fun.
I loved GW1 and was not disappointed with any of the expansions for that game. (hmm, that is a poor way of saying I loved all the expansions and thought they were worth every penny spent)
In Chamions Online they (Cryptic) added a UI element to control your music player while in-game. It’s the only game I’ve played with a feature that did this and I sure loved it.
Nothing better than being able to mess with I-tunes without taking your eyes off your game.
I’m an Alt-aholic. (Not on your list)
I have 35 characters. 12 level 80’s.
I bumble about doing this and that and if I get bored I change characters and do something different. I like this game a lot but have found the leveling of characters more fun than after 80 activities, which I also like just not as much.
I definitely don’t race through anything, I actually go deliberately slow at times just poking about maps and playing with oddball builds and weapons not usually seen in use.
Stupidly enough my absolute favorite thing to do in game is to kill the champ troll in Queensdale over and over and over again…
I’d like to see a “One-man band” kit for Engineers. Imagine it as a backwards version of a Warhorn or Shout skill – most of its skills are player-centered AOEs which apply conditions to enemies rather than boons to allies. The standard five-target limit would apply.
- - [Cowbell] / [More Cowbell] / [Even More Cowbell]. Medium-range (900?) non-projectile attack. Inflicts damage and Weakness on a single target. Perhaps [More Cowbell] could inflict Chilled instead of Weakness.
- - [Cymbal Crash]. Melee-range PBAOE damage and daze (intended to give the Engineer an opportunity to retreat when surrounded). Also acts as a Blast finisher (to provide some flexbility/utility for a player who stays out of melee range).
- - [Drum of Dissonance]. 1200-range AOE confusion.
- - [Halting March]. 1200-range AOE cripple.
- - [Furious Oompah]. Channeled skill. Lasts up to six seconds (unless canceled or interrupted). Each second, it produces a pulse which causes 1200-range AOE damage and burning (2 seconds). The final pulse also acts as a Whirl finisher.
Awesome Idea!
Especially if we had multiple skins of musical weapons to equip like other weapons!
Bagpipes would be a must have for me.
I have managed to open almost as many boxes, and I bought none of them. I did have similar results, only special thing I got was a mini.
Seriously get the boost of +200 magic find (settler) and do events. The boxes do drop!
How many hours would you say that took and what did you do during this time?
It was alot, like 20 hours – and I got them from fights where the settlers and consortium fight, the ones where the enemys turn green and walk away always dropping a loot bag or box. (the crates came from the box ones)
I did spend a few hours today in the same spot and got none – so I may have burned through all my luck for the year too. Ugh.
edit: The area is the open area just north outside the palisade at “Keil’s Outpost Waypoint”. There are two or three events there where every foe drops a bag/box, and when they are not going off there is an elite Instigator fight just east over a rock outcropping (I have gotten many rares from that Champion but no crates at all).
