Wow… Stupid decision to require events to unlock trait progression.
At first, I was impressed. It looked like the only skills requiring additional quests were the grandmaster traits. Suddenly, patch….and now everything requires an unlock or gold sink. Way to take one step forward Anet, and three backwards.
……this is not alt friendly.
I am astonished why people create 64 characters. I am a gamer, but even I think, this is completely out of whack. Anyway, thanks for the info. Maybe 2 or 3 other players need that information ;-)
Options, options, options.
I like to have an kitten nal of choice. Builds and appearance alters how I play. It’s nice to have all the options waiting for me on the shelf. The alt friendly changes that they made to the game on the 15th, and the character slot sale, made the last 8 slots an easy purchase.
Aggressive filter is aggressive.

I’d be pretty disappointed if they introduced another character race without lifting/increasing the limit though.
Just don’t ask how many GW1 accounts I bought.
Hey all,
Heads up to those that share a bit of character OCD. The BLT won’t warn you when you have reached the account limit of 64 character expansion slots. The store allowed me to purchase the 65th, while keeping the count at the 64.
A warning should be implemented when your account reaches the allowable expansion/upgrade, such as the collection expander does.
Original thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/64-character-slot-limit/first#post3907999
I’ll post a suggestion in the BLT forum as well.
@Rob: Character OCD.
As stated on the wiki:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Character_Slot_Expansion
Once the 64 character limit has been reached, the store still permits character slot purchases without exceeding the 64 slot limit. This came to my attention when the gems left my wallet, but my character slots didn’t increase. :P
…….ticket opened to support, but it might be an idea to run a check (like they do for storage expansion), and stop purchases that can’t be realized.
There should be some resolution for the defunct glory boosters.
This is still as easy as changing the forge recipe. Bound swords going in? Bound Eternity coming out. Unbound swords going in? Unbound Eternity coming out.
…….everything solved.
The problem arises due to soul bound/account bound swords being used to create an unbound item in the forge. The best solution:
Change the recipe. If two soul bound swords are used to create Eternity, then the Eternity comes out account bound. If two unbound swords are used….then Eternity isn’t either.
This solves every problem without impacting the current swords on the TP, and stops the exploit of multiple legendary unlocks for those that don’t deserve them.
Easy.
It’s actually easier to solve than what I’m reading here.
delist all Eternity GS (return the listing fee), Break apart all Eternities into Twilight/Sunrise. When Eternity is crafted it’s account bound. Boom…everybody happy.
rage quit!
….tell Anet to start paying employees a competitive wage!
Whoop….whoop…whoop.
Entitled jerk alert.
Aside from a title for utilizing your ‘entropy’ achievement and maxing out your ‘luck’ if you salvage more greens do you still get those luck things? Because that would be annoying.
They keep pooping out. I think they should make the essences sellable. After hitting 300…..I found I have a few piling up:
As long as the pass is in your inventory, the RT should not be kicking us out! It should also remember your character placement. For example: If you log out in front of a crafting station, you should still be in front of that crafting station when you log back in!
I like the item a lot Anet (I bought two of them). Make this fix!!!
She’s the gal, who’s laugh makes me smile a mile. One of the best maniacal laughs I’ve ever heard.
I want an infinite Scarlett laugh bauble that emits the evil chuckle from the TP.
You know you’re a key runner when you gear the runners out to look better than normal level 1s. It’s a nice diversion from the normal game play. Plus, you get to hear “I’m uptown Johnny, baby……man plus!”, as many times as you can handle! :P

If anything, items such as precursors drop too commonly.
After a year and a half, it seems every other person running by has a legendary. I haven’t had a precursor drop in my lap, but I’ve been able to acquire a couple legendary weapons through some dedicated gameplay.
The best/coolest items should always be difficult to acquire. That being said, anything ruled by RNG should be sellable on the tradepost. That way, if you can’t win the lottery, you can at least put in an effort to gain the same reward.
Now, stop being lazy, and go earn your precursor.
The luck status bar changes, once 300 is hit. It turns green, and shows how much luck you’ve consumed since reaching the last tier.
I hit 300 today, and I got to pondering a couple of things:
As some noticed, the amount of luck needed to progress increases each level until you hit 218. At this point, 30,000 points are need per level until you hit the maximum level of 300. However, consumed luck essences are still tracked after finishing the lucky meter.
Any speculation on Anet revising the amount of luck needed to reach this top tier? Is there any mention of removing the plateau that starts at level 218?
I see two reasons for hoarding/consuming luck essence after 300. The removal of the linear level progression after 218, and the possibility of crafting recipes using the essences.
……well three reasons, if they ever decide to make the essences sellable on the TP.
I’d like to go back to just regarding blues and greens as TP or merchant fodder. My poor copper-fed salvage-o-matic could use some vacation time!
Greed is pushing Anet developers away from the understanding of the very game they created.
This will fail to generate money for PlayNC.
Yup, kitten on my part. Many thanks.
Where are these available from? I must be totally missing something. The only place I can find them, are on the Trade Post, for 100g each.
I’d like to start crafting my ascended berserker’s armor, but availability of the insignias is preventing progress.
Are these mob drops only?
You shouldn’t be thanking them for trying to alleviate their conscience. They know they are screwing with the loyal PvP fanbase.
Don’t you dare help them sleep at night over the crap they are planning to dump on the PvP players.
Since PVP did not offer gold as a reward when Glory was earned, the temporary glory vendor should not require ANY GOLD for the items he offers.
Anet developers in charge of PVP should not be overlooking this. It’s insulting to the PvP players that earned this glory, but not the gold required to phase out the currency that’s being taken away from them.
Highly disrespectful.
It only gives you a 15% chance. We get a lot more than that from WvW bonuses by the time Thursday rolls around.
It says 33% in the item description. Which is total malarkey. It has no effect in the current state. The item is not working as advertised.
Something is not right. Do not buy these. They do not increase anything mined over your regular gathering chances.
The only boost I’m seeing is the swiftness after gathering.
They DO NOT increase anything mined. I want this fixed, or a refund issued.

I hope Anet uses this horrible implementation of event rotation and learns to never do this again.
What a crappy thing to do to your players anet. I seriously doubt Anet tests their own content from the perspective of a player. The invasion achievement is a joke for somebody that doesn’t want to camp the zone they need for 24 hours straight.
Hi. I thought I’d drop a little perspective into your hyperbole. Free of charge.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/04/03/how-much-do-game-developers-make
http://www.simplyhired.com/salaries-k-garbage-collector-jobs.html
Thanks for showing you have no idea what’s going on.
Why don’t you actually do some actual research. Anet pays well below the industry standards. Seattle/Bellevue area garbage men make more than the average Anet programmer. It’s not a slight on garbage men, or the occupation. It’s a comment on the pay scale for the locale.
The point is, that Anet pays it’s employee’s horrible compensation for their geographic location. Don’t be smug if you can’t bring fact to the table. I’m gald your perspective is “free”. You get what you pay for.
Google “Seattle garbage man salary”. Then go look for what Anet pays it’s average joe programmer.
(edited by Firebaall.5127)
…..that’s what happens when the people that are programming this game make less than the guys picking up your curbside garbage.
The horrible truth.
Source.
Do your own homework, unless you want to pay me for doing it for you. Little hint…..the garbage collectors earn in the neighborhood are above 50K per year.
…Anet programmers….trash collecting would be a step up.
There’s a couple that earn a decent wage, but you’re a fool if you think that’s even a portion of those doing the grunt work for this game. Most of them can’t pay cost of living for that region.
…fact.
I think the trouble is, that Anet pays their programmers less than their city’s regional garbage men.
….literally.
How hard would you try at your job with a degree, when the guys taking away your trash earn significantly more?
I’m not happy with team of programmers earning less than industry standards, neither are they. It’s showing up in the product that we pay for. That’s a fact.
How was he nerfed?
With massive inconsistency and a misunderstanding of the game mechanics.
Its okay bro, just go down the stairs and join destroyers farm. Leave dunwell to professionals.
…..your arrogance would be better suited if you looked up who you were talking to. You just got melted.
At least treat players with some sort of respect Anet.
Take away the drops ala subject 7. Don’t discriminate player classes. There’s at least a couple of classes that are not having issues with the “nerf”. Farmers are still tying up queues and laughing in your face while on their way to the bank.
Why would you elect to change the difficulty, rather than the loot. You’ve biased this encounter against players that aren’t farming it. Why would you reduce the choices that players have against this for the the 5 gamkittenallenge?
I’ve had my gauntlet challenges done for some time, but I feel for those that you’ve discriminated against with your lack of deployment abilities.
A whole can of worms that you deserve brought to bear against you are your patch notes….but then I see you did a 180, by declaring that you changed the mechanics of the deadeye encounter.
(edited by Firebaall.5127)
If they didnt award cash I couldnt afford to keep playing the arena lol.
If the matches awarded tickets for wins instead of cash, you could.
Anet should have removed ALL the cash from the rewards from these gauntlet matches. They are not about farming cash. Their form factor can’t support farmers flooding the queues.
They should reward tickets . Higher level boss……more tickets.
Welcome to the two week, ill thought out, ill balanced content. Thumbs up Anet.
what was nerfed exactly?
They introduced a separate stand alone reward bag when you beat the ooze. It won’t stack with bags from other opponents. The loot is half of what you would get from any other cage fight.
…….lame anet
Funny how they “fix” the loot from a boss that players figured out how to battle. Wasn’t this the purpose of these fights?
Lame Anet…..lame.
How about you guys actually fix something that needs it badly in this event? Lost tickets from broken matches should have been fixed before you loot scaled players that figured out your boss mechanics.
…..very lame.
……so after waiting 6 mins to fight with my 5 gambits paid for, and my admission ticket paid:
ROTTING IN FRONT OF THE EMPTY CAGE YET AGAIN.
Ringmaster says I’m already queued, and I can’t clear it any way but logging/character select screen. Nice to watch the other players come and go on my area spot though………
This is ridiculous. That’s 20 silver plus one extra ticket, down the drain (and sprockets) each time I get caught by this bull crap.
Thanks again Anet.
Maybe you guys should think about slowing down your “new content” every two weeks concept. You can’t handle it.
It’s just lame that I have to buy/farm the tickets back, that were cheated away by the system.
These buggy areas are bull crap. I want Queen’s Gauntlet Tickets reimbursed. Either that, or turn them off completely.
There’s no reason why I should instantly lose 6 tickets because the event is buggy. 5 gambits plus the entrance.
Several times, I’ve been forced to drop out of the bottom of the cage, because the player before me took too long. I get warped into the cage before the floor resets. They lost…..so I don’t even get a chance?
Not to mention the queue bug that forces you to lose the tickets because you aren’t allowed to actually join.
…..get your crap together Anet.
LMAO
….because figuring out a way to balance killing 1,000,00 yaks is a tough call to make.
seriously?
Anet game designers might want to schedule a game balance clinic. Call all the department heads together. This is a tough one. It might take a few months for this beast to be ironed out.
The people who played GW1 already were given titles like “God amongst whatever”
Yeah, they gave that out like candy. You should go buy GW1, so you can grab it. It’s a free uber title, just waiting for you to take it!
Blah, blah, blah.
The points are intended. Stop it already.
I am mostly surprised this thread hasn’t been locked, yet. The staff might have been laughing a bit at the start, but after 7 pages of the same thing .. Over and over.. It is a rather depressing picture.
I sincerely hope Jane Player doesn’t think this is what the whole Guild Wars community is like.
It should be closed. The points are intended. Move along people.
The only thing I really wanted carried over from GW1 was my divine aura. The small amount of AP was a nice bonus though.
At the end of the day, it’s only a few egomaniacs QQing about losing a few spots on the leaderboards. A vocal minority that is steeped in selfishness and envy. If they stop playing because they lost a couple places, good riddance.
(edited by Firebaall.5127)
OP is a hypocrite.
If he really wanted a fair shake for the GW2 leaderboards, he’d be advocating the removal of all Daily AP rewards as well. He’s only complaining for the benefit of his bruised ego.
At least everybody has the option to buy or work on GW1 for these points. No player can go back and get daily APs that they missed. Frankly, the only reason the OP was that highly ranked in the first place, was simply because he worked on this daily APs earlier than those below him. Nothing more.
GW1 rewards were intended to be part of GW2 from the start. 2 AP points per title track was by far too little. This is a rebalance. It’s more than fair.
