Crysis Identified a glitch with the possibility of making warrior awesome, thank you Arenanet for the unintended buff you finally bestowed upon such a poor and desolate class.
To commemorate this buff I recorded a video of me stomping Crysis and his teammates being rallied, this works in Ranked, Unranked, and custom servers. There may be more ways to cause this to happen, but so far we have seen that there Must be a Bezerker warrior present.
This pleases me…very much.
Not warriors, who still have no reason to play this game or buy HOT.

Couldn’t agree more. As a DH I lay my traps and go to sleep. Wake up to stomp. The end. There is zero skill involved. We are sick of a few classes now who seem to be able to do everything and it’s completely unbalanced. Meanwhile thieves and warriors may as well not bother.

Assuming you’re pulling the “it’s a world with magic and dragons so realistic” argument, I refer you to the concept of Willing Suspension of Disbelief.
Essentially, fictional works don’t have to be realistic, they just have to be internally consistent. Magic isn’t realistic, but most fictional works handle it consistently. On the other hand, if people running around in dresses are better protected than people in heavy metal armour, the question becomes why heavy armour exists at all.

Elite specs are meant to change the flavor of the classes. The description given above are fairly true for guardian and mesmer, not for DH and chrono.

sounds reasonable enough. On the other hand, DH was build to be a more selfish variant of guardian.
Bunker guard would still be a thing if not for the power creep. Chronobunker is fairly weak on the heal support side (hence why tempest is used in the rev+chrono teams). Also its boon generation is low (but it can multiply them fairly well). Bunker guard does that well, but cannot sustain the fight well enough, not to mention that tempest just does it better.
At the end, bunker guard and chronobunker are not competing for the same spot. Bunker guard and tempest are.
You do make an excellent point; however, I would counter by saying that nowhere in the description does it mention Chronomancer being used only for the attributes of being incredibly tanky and having the ability to pick up almost any revive.
I would argue that Chronomancer was designed to be a hybrid type of class, where the normal mesmer focuses almost entirely on damage, Chronomancer mixes and matches damage and team damage support (through alacrity), it is supposed to help facilitate team damage by holding people down with gravity well, making back to back time warps/moas, not simply standing on a point drinking a cup of coffee.
I think Arenanet should redo some of these descriptions because they are both off. The top one should read something like:

Mesmers are magical tanks who wield countless evades as a shield. Using powerful illusions, clones, and phantasmal magic to confuse and annoy their foes, mesmers make sure every fight is balanced in their favor by boring their enemies to death.
the second one:
Guardian:

I want bunker guards to bunk again and mesmers to mesmerize again, that is all.
2 – Grinding > Player Consistency - As of right now the current implementation of pvp leagues is nothing more than a grind fest. And on top of that the most important part in my opinion is you should be bumped down into a lesser division if you don’t perform well. So lets say you just now make it to ruby for example. Ruby is an above division, and as soon as you do, you lose 20 games in a row. But even after going through the worst lose streak of your life, you’re still in the ruby division……why?
You should be punished for your bad play, and by doing so it gives more legitimacy to the actual divisions. The higher up you go in terms of divisions, the more consistent the player, therefore by doing it this way your system would actually be able to differentiate the between the beginner, intermediate, and top tier players based on division. But instead you chose to make it a forgiving, non challenging grindfest against solo q players, which is accomplishing nothing more than kittening off the majority of your player base.

We aren’t all bunker mesmers here so sometimes we have a bad day so I don’t whole heartedly agree with this one. Perhaps instead, there should simply be more tiers.
About the balance of the game? Is it because they are embarrassed? Or is it because they over buffed professions and they can’t fix them now.
They are silent because they are working SO HARD to update those skill descriptions for the next “Balance” patch.
They should fix their mmr system to make it so queue times are less for them, just tone down how much mmr you get for being in x rank until enough people are in it.
Hey, wait 6 months and they will have another “balance patch” where they update tooltips.

You know what’s funny ? That, team players have issues with having separate ques, because then their team Q will become wasteland, then they have issues with que times, which forces them to further abuse the system and force queing against people who shouldn’t face them at the first place.
And now with even tiers in Legendary they having issues for not being a special snowflake. It’s a such clown show tbh.

“Unique rewards” does not refer to a legendary, could just mean things like the vial of salt. Tiers make it much harder for solo queuers of low tier and mmr to be matched against higher level teams, and you can’t argue that there are no new rewards that are reasonable attainable.

Out of curiosity…. a question for the whole community: how can Abjured BEAT everything thrown at them when the rest of the community( including other TOP teams) complain about the flavour of the month meta?
This Abjured team simply wins against everything deemed OP and broken by the rest of the community, they can play classes/build deemed UP by the rest and still own left and right…..are they gods…or simply better than the rest of us?
With this in mind, there is one last thing to say: with the majority of nerf requests ( made by me also) the level of skill of the parties involved, it’s never showed or explained…ask yourself why..
Back in the turret meta, my team, Radioactive, took 3 sentinel turret engies, a sentinel bunker necro, and a sentinel rez warrior into a monthly. We rolled every team and then got to abjured. Abjured understands one concept that comes from their skirmish playstyle, they are extremely skilled at switching off of the point, running away to health back up, and leaving their tankier members to 1v2 the tanks that they face while simultaneously outrotating. In short, they are well versed in how to take on bunker comps—you simply leave a tanky member 1v2 and quickly run to outnumber a different point. They NEVER sit and just hold 2 points, they are always pushing, always creating momentum.
Other teams, on the other hand, will try and pick even number fights against bunkers in a point capped in the bunkers favor, other teams will also just try to hold solid 2 caps without making a move on another point, other teams play too defensively and narrow-mindedly.

I have seen bunker mesmers who are holding their home point get pushed by a necro or scrapper or something only to waste time and cause us to lose fights outnumbered. Easy mistake to fix.
I have the exact same thing on my Thief lol.. Getting toxic thrown at my face before the match even starts and then carrying the game.. So sad.
Thief is not nearly as bad as people make them out to be, it can wreck necromancers, do work to mesmers, etc. Warrior, on the other hand, has nothing.

In all seriousness, if you are in the most competitive game mode, you should be actually trying to win. If your favourite class doesn’t make the cut either keep to lower competitions or switch. Please do point out its broken on the forums, but don’t be shocked that you upsetting people when you intentionally handicap your team.
Speaking of team, its a team game. You can continue playing the victim all you want, but if you are hurting 4 other players then I don’t see why you are surprised by their response.
The whole banning people is going too far, the balance is kitten atm and weird stuff is happening so everyone is probably on edge in pvp. But when I, being the social (ignores laughter from those who know me) person I am, want to test builds out or learn a class or use something that won’t last a second in the current meta or anything that might hurt my fellow players, I take my issues to hotjoin maybe followed by unranked.
I get it, if someone is playing a bunker thief or clearly not contributing to the team, they should switch, but telling a person that you will report them because their whole class is obsolete? You’re the one I’ll report for verbal abuse.

Underperforming in the hands of kittenters yes, Crysis, on the other hand, is an actual warrior, and knows how to wreck people with it. In fact, just watching him play makes me think it doesn’t need to be buffed; however, it’s not even CLOSE to how faceroll Rev/Bunk mes/Tempest/DH/Reaper/Scrapper is.

Durability runes are contributing to this absuradly tanky meta. Druids, chronomancers, revenants, reapers, tempests, and scrappers are abusing the fact that it IS broken to give an extra 5% boon duration, it provides both toughness AND vitality, as well as 3 VERY tanky buffs every 20 seconds. You do realize if you stack 5 people on a team with Durability runes (very likely scenario) Everyone is getting those buffs, Everyone is far tankier.
When you deleted minstrel I was not alright with it because at MAX you could only run 2 (I’m sure EU would have figured that out in a week or 2) but Durability runes? If you can might stack, smack it on.

I have over 50 esl experience, have competed in vVv tournament, glory tournament, legend tournament, all of the qualifiers, many monthlies, etc. I play only 2 classes guardian and necro, which translates into DH and Reaper, I am very experienced at both, having over 2500 hours on each class.
In b4 this gets deleted. Anything against ANet will be deleted soon enough.. whether it’s true or not. They don’t want people buying the game to realize how crap the PvP scene is atm considering they are TRYING to be esports.
Oh it’s true, in fact, I’m just waiting for Even to come in here and correct me, stating something like: You actually wasted 24 hours because you’ve done 120 matches in that tier to no avail. When in reality I only started counting that last day.
I just wanted to add something to this post by the way. People who farmed up to ruby and diamond with teams are having a hard time getting matches because others are not in the same tier. If the vast majority of people are stuck in emerald and sapphire and are literally unable to move, how is that going to fix the issue for the players stuck in high leagues with 30 min queues?
No, you didn’t waste your time. By playing you’re regularly putting yourself in a position that encourages your mind to send certain kinds of signal faster and with less effort. This can translate into performing certain skills better, like driving a car, remembering times and dates, multitasking, etc. You only feel like you’ve wasted your time because your sole focus was limited to winning and advancing in the current league. Yes, the game could be made to be much better than it currently is. You can also make this much less of an issue for yourself by prioritizing your personal growth in all areas of life more than just wins and pips in GW2.
If you look at the win/loss, I got worse near the end, so I got titled, started making mistakes, and started reinforcing them.

The last 2 days, playing around 25 games a day I have still been unable to clear tier 4 emerald, I find it, impossible. Toxicity VS ARENANET!
I’m positive arenanet is aware of the current meta in guild wars 2 competitive pvp, but I just want to ensure that the core issues in the current meta are well understood by both the developers and community. I also want to make clear that some issues that may be perceived by the community are actually not issues at all in competitive play. From my understanding, some of the balance in the game is driven not by the people in proleague but also by some forum input.
I am a participant in the ESL proleague team for NA called Zero Counterplay, and I don’t think there is a better name for the current meta as of now. ESL proleague tomorrow is going to be quite….a shock… from what I’ve seen in scrimmages for the past week.
Anyways, I’ll state some of the goingon’s in proleague scrimmages, issues in balance, and some (what I think to be) false beliefs in point form for conciseness. I’ll also try to cut it short, and not be stating too many specifics so that I am respectful of my fellow proleague teams.
1) Dragonhunter is fine.
If anything, it’s actually a bit weak at the moment, and I don’t think many of the teams currently in NA are running it (I believe one team is?). I don’t agree entirely with some of the class design choices, but yeah you won’t see much of this in proleague. It’s just not good enough.2) Thief and warrior are dead…mostly.
It saddens me, but the stuff out there in the current meta is really just too strong. Many thieves in NA have switched over I think in this past week to one of the stronger classes.3) League system does need some finetuning.
I don’t think I have to go over this.4) Bunker mesmer and condition revenant are beyond ridiculous, and teams having been testing their potency by running x2, x3, and even x4.
-These builds are really really really strong and extremely forgiving. Many teamfights are just a mess with 1v1s and 2v2s especially being more dictated by passive procs and luck. The skill ceiling has fallen drastically.5) Elementalist and druid are being phased out
-Bunker mesmer is claiming their spots.. Elementalists and druids are still viable somewhat, but some teams have dropped the classes entirely.6) Marauder scrapper is coming back, but not entirely. Like reaper now, it is being tested in comparison to bunker mes and condi rev.
7) The power creep is very, very real.
-Balance patches in the future should aim not to buff underpowered specs, but to tune what is too strong at the present time.I think that covers most of the things I wanted to say, but yeah things aren’t looking too bright from the competitive side. I’ll try to add things that come to mind. Proleague is still going to be a blast to watch though, so check it out tomorrow!
What about reaper??
LOLOL, I’ve wasted 17 hours on that tier. I’ve been working at tier four of emerald for 2 and a half days and have done (give or take a few games) 47 games while in that tier. I’ve done 1 5 queue, almost all solo, and a few duo queues.
So, just to be clear, I have over 50 esl experience, have competed in MANY tournaments and am supremely skilled at dragonhunter and reaper and I AM WASTING MY TIME. No rewards, no progression, just feeling like I’d be better off doing ANYTHING ELSE.
I decided to start taking shots every time I lose a pip, let’s see how far I go before I kill myself.
Necro main here. Carrion is 1 of 3 builds I currently run.
I swap between Death Perception and Dhuumfire on my Carrion build depending on opponents comp before each match
Death Perception can be far more useful than Dhuumfire when going against a DS Tempest.
But one thing you forgot to consider about Dhuumfire is that it doesn’t have a CD. It’s possible to apply 3-4 burning stacks from continuous Life Rend pressure. That plus the suggestion from OverPoweredNecro and you have a winner.

I’ve been that OP! Except I have made an “I’m quitting” post yet because Overwatch is not yet out. I did make a guild named “Overwatch Hype [cya]” with the team named “Leaving for Overwatch” so I hope that counts.
To me though, my anger is not directed entirely at rewards, it is directed in the fact that I could play for 3 hours in a progression league system and end up worse than I was previously. The fact that you are severely punished for having a high mmr is unjustifiable; when it comes right down to it, they need to rework this system in its entirety.
Is it the boon duration?
Yay, you have to be careful not to be caught exploiting by doing the Durability runes + viper amulet on a Revenant, it’s such an OP combo you should feel dirty playing it.
Also, the rune is bugged to give 25% boon duration instead of 20%
Take Bitter Chill and Decimate Defenses For the crit AND the vuln stacking, because vuln + fire + might + crit = massive damage.
Last night I got queued against Hugh and grouch playing warrior and third respectively, so maybe buffs for them are eventually one day on the way!

This patch has been live for 3 days and there are already ACTUAL PAGES of hate on the forums, Reddit, etc.
I even saw a group of devs come into Heart of the Mists brazen enough to display their arenanet symbol, in the past people would dance around them, have nice conversations, offer group invites, etc. That is the courtesy of a bygone era, a time when devs actually developed useful and fun features. As they stood there, 5 of them, (presumably ready to 5 queue) players were yelling so many vulgar obscenities and “/throw feces” that it was actually sad, very sad to watch. As you could imagine they disappeared pretty quick and stayed gone.
We’ve yet to see any response or actions taken by arenanet officials on the state of the game. I hope they understand that it is the player that uses their product and there are many other games to hop to, I don’t want this game to go the way of Wildstar, giving into player demands far too late and being left an empty carapace of a once successful game.
By all means arenanet, take note of what needs to be changed, make a list, have a twitch stream where you apologize about what waste of money this game currently is and go through the list, annonce the changes that Need to be made.

Spent 3 hours solo queuing and got literally nowhere, I think it would be a good idea to 5 queue and have all five people afk at spawn for 15-20 games. It would go really fast, kill the mmr, not make the opposing groups have a bad time, and make it much easier to get through a single tier in emerald. Lmmk if anyone wants to kill their mmr with me

I appreciate a lot of the game updates with the recent patch and see the game history as a cool feature. My suggestion would be to include a longer history and to have the ability to right click on the game and show the stats or the score board from that game. Now that would be awesome.

Why should a 4 queue gain a pip losing to a 3/2? That makes no sense. The 4 queue would be at worst equally coordinated.
4 queue would lose a pip if they lost to a 3/2 because a 4 queue is larger than a 3 queue or a 2 queue. At no point did I suggest gaining pips upon a loss.
Sit back, relax, sip a drink, and read.
I have played an alarming amount of games today (easily 20+) mostly solo, some were duo queue in order to try and work my way through the league system. Instead of having a fun time, I have come away with utter disdain for this game as I faced queue after queue of 5 queues, 4 queues, 3/2 queues, etc. Personally, it can be quite fun to try skills and builds against such adversaries, but not when these little green pips are on the line. When the only solution is to beg teammates to disconnect so they can take one for the team and get us a bye against abjured or something there is a problem. When you work for 2 hours to gain a pip, only to lose it because you face and impossible challenge, and realize that you wasted 2 hours, there is a problem. When you know that it is, and I mean IS IMPOSSIBLE to reach legendary league without a literally top tier 5 queue, THERE IS A PROBLEM.
It’s extremely easy to point out the numerous problems with current league system just as everyone else has on the forms, what differs in this post is I offer a solution, one that would keep the league system, be easy to implement, and make people have a FAR better time across the board.
My solution would be to make it IMPOSSIBLE for you to lose a pip if you are beaten by a team that has more people queued up together than your team.
in case you don’t quite understand, here are a few examples:
1) you queue up solo for a ranked queue and your entire team are solos, face a 5 queue, and lose. 5 queue gains a pip, you don’t lose one.
2) you queue up as a 4 queue and lose to a 3/2 queue, you lose pip, everyone on the opposing team (the 3/2 queue) gains a pip
3) you queue up solo but are paired with a 4 queue and lose to a 3 queue, you Lose a pip (so it’s not Impossible to lose pips as a solo queue).
This would make it so it is still faster for a top tier team to queue together and get through the leagues nice and fast but not LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE for anyone else to do the same. It would also make it so losing to an IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT TEAM and losing VERY HARD EARNED PIPS does not cause Guild Wars 2 leagues to be responsible for broken monitors (see attachment).
Oh, and one thing everyone would love, SOLO QUEUING WOULDN’T BE POINTLESS.

btw, I have more losses after and before that. Also, I tried reaper, but nearly every group I face has 1-3 diamond skin tempests. Also, the desertion on there was because we were losing horribly and I just said kitten it, I’ll give the other 4 guys a bye and left.
I wouldn’t say dolyakhunter has that better of a match up against tempest since they’re perpetually in a state of protection and reflection. I’ve been trying out marauder reaper and it’s fared a lot better against them even if it gets countered by the rare zerker warrior.
I’ve honestly never done marauder reaper, you think it would be a good idea to go blood for wells or spite for mightstacking?
