^ what he said. This is really a bad move for Anet. $10 for every contents that new players missed. I know the journal start at season 2 but eventually they will add season1. That is like more than $100+ waste to catchup all of the season1 stuff!

Thoughtless/Selfless potions were not meta achievement rewards. You needed to get 250 Heirlooms (not that easy) and pay 10g to buy it.

I think it was intentional they got left out at this point.

Following a mindless zerg to get 250 Heirlooms is easier than doing metas for the others LS. And everyone should have 10g lol

we all want new pvp modes like Arena, Capture The Flag, King of the Hills etc…

Most Guild Wars 2 players are teenagers… I mean, I don’t have numbers, but look me in the username and tell me you genuinely think that’s not the case.

ANet is writing for teenagers. I’m sure they could do a better job, but there’s really nothing in it for them if they do. Also, they have to crank out stories pretty quickly, so I would guess they don’t have a lot of time to consider too many intricacies, especially since that would also mean more time needed for the devs to implement it.

I’m pretty confident that the next season of LS will be just as uninspiring as the rest of the GW2 story has been so far, not simply because of looking at their previous work, but the motivation behind it. The GW2 playerbase is too young to appreciate a seriously good story, and ANet knows it.

Also, ANet is kind of… let’s say “family friendly,” for lack of a better word. They’re soft. It’s not a bad thing, but their story-telling ability definitely suffers for it.

Most of my guild mates and friends all married and even have kids. Not sure where you get “most teenagers” from. Don’t determine them as teenagers by looking at their usernames.

Rewards vendor should have all LS1 items back to be fair if u ask me.

Anet exercising the good ol’ all skins are unique, but some skins are more unique than others…

If they’re going to bring back certain skins and ruin the uniqueness of those for those players who had them, why not do it to all the unique skins we’ve had during LS through the last year.

Why deny players getting hold of the other skins? Why ruin it for only portion of the players?
Some people might think the Liadri mini, Fervid Censer, Infinite Watchknight Tonic, Mini Ellen Kiel were unique and once-off acquisition, what makes those items less special than the Lightning Catcher backpiece, Halo (Selfless potion) or Sclerite backpack?

what about those old LS 1 items like tentacles from southsun, shatterer wings from dragon bash….. those are unique too and they brought it back. It’s only fair if they bring back everything in LS 1 items back.

Favor of the Festival can be buyable on TP by buying Favor of the Pav/Bazaar. They are pretty cheap to worth 50 obs shards.

With what happened to GW1, you are a tad too positive. It wouldn’t surprise me if after LS season 2 we hear great announcements, then silence, followed by “well…we want to do a lot of stuff but can’t with the current GW2 engine. So we’re working on GW3 which we’ll have everything you love from GW2 !”
With a little luck, maybe GW3 will feel like it’s actually connected to GW1…

Don’t want to sound too sarcastic, that’s not my point at all, but to get 2000-3000 gold is quite an accomplishment, isn’kitten I hate farming, I do totally have utmost respect to those who crafted their legendaries, but I was doing a lot in order to overcome my hatred towards farming in order to collect 3000 gold for my legendary. More than farming I hate crafting, so I hope you do understand me.

I stand corrected, making your own legendaries is much more fun and less grind than straight up farming for 2000-3000 gold. You get to explore the world maps, kill tons of people in wvw for badges. Beside people rather rmt 3000g than farm for gold nowaday.

Edit: I still don’t get why Ascended gears are account bound and not Legendaries.

I just wish Legendaries 2.0 are account bound to show players are accomplishing something rather than 1 click on TP to get it.

Colin mentioned about new legendaries and new legendary trinket in 2013 July blog post. But it has been delay since then.

PvE is never the “end game” in any MMO.

PvE cannot retain players for 10 years. It is stagnant and has a very low skill ceiling (low self improvement). GW2 PvE skill ceiling: Stack in corner, stack might, zerk/FGS it to death. There is nothing more to learn for PvE past this.

PvP in every MMO has always been the “end game”.

PvP has the potential to retain players for 10 years as long as the company looks after it. PvP is different every time you log in, you always face something new, it is always unpredictable. PvP also has an unlimited skill ceiling (unlimited self improvement).

I’ll say it again, PvP is the end game in MMO’s, not PvE.

What? I was in a top raiding guild when I played WoW and PVE WAS the main goal. In fact most things were based on pve raids.

Aside from difficulty, raiding is no different to any other PvE content.
- Find optimal set ups, then;
- “Run this build, use this group composition”
- Repeat monotony

It’s the same for GW2 dungeons, same for GW1 DOA/UW/FoW/Urgoz/Deep.

PvE is low skill cap, and relatively stagnant once solved.

Without PvP, MMO’s don’t last long. Imagine WoW without PvP, and only having PvE…. yeah, dead.

WoW dead seriously? The strong point about WoW is their main PvE, good dungeons design/fights. PvE is what keep WoW strong 10 years+ and its still #1 MMO right now. All im saying is GW2 need some good long dungeons raiding and perm stuff, not like Living World crap can be done w/in a day.

Oh dear, that again. I feel sorry for you people, really i do. gw2 has barely began to expand its horizons and you keep harping about some imaginary end game. omg what’s happened to gamers these days, so brainwashed by these insidious games they cannot see the forest for the trees.

are you 1 of those casuals who plays 1 or 2 hours a day who doesn’t see the big pic? GW2 has lost a lot of players since LS1 out and that is a fact. Most of the big guilds since pre released have like 10 members at best now. Every MMOs need some kind of game to have its keep the players strive for. GW2 isn’t a bad game but it need something for players to keep playing.

This maintenance is expected to last about 6 hours and the wikis will not be available during that period of time. The goal of that maintenance is to update the software and reconfigure the hardware of some part of the wiki infrastructure. While we’ve already performed upgrades “quietly” (without any user-facing visible impact) on some part of this infrastructure, it is unfortunately not possible in this case and we have to take the wiki offline to perform this operation. We’re performing these series of upgrades to our infrastructure to make sure that it is up-to-date and allow us to then perform the series of software upgrades to MediaWiki and Semantic MediaWiki.

If you do see issues after the maintenance, please report them on the Guild Wars 2 social media channels (Twitter, Facebook and Google+). As I’m out after this maintenance, you won’t be able to contact me via my talkpage but there’ll be someone to relay any problem to our engineer. The door is always lock and i tried to go around got the vista but whenever i try to go near the poi and the skill point, i got ported out for some reason. Is this skill point and poi bugged?
