Because weapons don’t need to built around the body of the user, while armor basically need to have one version for every race and gender.
Yet pieces are still stretched, most noteably on Charr and Norn.
I can deal with a hambow warrior just fine if it’s only 1 of them. The problem is that this class is now seen as such a ‘no brainer’ that you routinely run into teams with more than 1. They can very quickly overwhelm anyone, leaving you just standing there like a fool waiting to die.

Yep, axe is just straight up higher DPS. A big 100B number doesn’t mean the GS is the best DPS option, as once that 100B is exhausted, the DPS is terrible.

Guardians are better damage. A big 100B number doesn’t mean good DPS as its a long channel skill.
They haven’t been part of the core meta for a good while as ele’s might stacking has been popularised, and people learning the ability to LOS has reduced the “necessity” for a Mesmer’s SOI and Temporal.
That said, they still fare pretty well, and do have the highest theoretical DPS (theoretical, in practice its pretty low as phantasms die often).
Mesmers are even falling out of Arah now that people are learning how to substitute Feedback for a Guardian’s WOR.
Sadly, Mesmer’s are being put on a support line more and more with every patch and having their damage hampered – not what meta groups want.
I can’t imagine why you would ever want to take a guardian over a mesmer. If anything mesmers are obsoleting guardians since they can do everything they do but better.
You are delusional. Guardians have higher sustained DPS (don’t go resorting to your favourite spreadsheets as we all know it’s impossible to keep phantasms up all the time and by the time 3 are up mobs are dead anyway), as well as more reflections and reliable aegis.
THIS is an extremely helpful tool to let you know which servers to guest on for contested dungeons or temples.
Berserker or not, please don’t join groups asking for DPS, as Sword AND a Rifle just do not qualify for that. It’s just rude to waste other people’s time who want quick. effective runs.
As a play how you want build, and without knowing your trait setup it’s the best damage that weapon set is going to do, yes. But anything is viable.
There’s a surplus of Warriors if you PUG, with most PUG Guardians being horribly bad staff-auto attackers. Go Guardian so you can carry.

The price has been inflated – the goal (maybe? Why didn’t they do it for leather if it was). Now it’s time to drop it to a more reasonable price. It really shouldn’t be outpricing it’s T6 counterpart – which it is so close to doing.
Its a good game for farmers, since you are not forced to grind Dungeons or Raids to get good gear and most of the stuff can be bought with gold.
That’s more so good for casuals.
If anything, those with higher APs are more likely bad players, as they go off gallivanting through living story “updates” completing every achievement included, and prance through the jumping puzzle and generally just do through everything but dungeons in order to get more APs.
An example, someone I’m “forced” to play with has about 200 less than me, and I’ve played for many more months than him, he is horrendous in dungeons because he messes about focusing on trying to +1 everybody with APs.

Turning off legendaries? Then we should be able to turn off exotics weapons aswell and armors. And maybe turning off everything just to see your own character and nothing else.
Exotics that produce effects yes, we should be able to turn things off like the sparks from Mjolnir, fire from Firebringer and the dust from Infinite Light. When so many effects are stacked, it becomes difficult to see.
The main issue however is Ele/Mesmer & Guardian’s burning animations blocking. And of course the stupid, over the top trails from Sunrise & Twilight.
A simple part-solution would be to allow the already in-game generic character models triggered by culling to be able to be activated for party members.
what if we could remove 1 (any) condition when we use dodge (trait)?…thoughts?

Reconsider needing the ascended if you don’t get the exotics to salvage through dungeon tokens or account bound exotics in fractal drops that can give you the Dark Matter.

300 people yes- 5 people?
Regularly running with a Mesmer, Ele and Guardian (and 2 Warriors but their attacks don’t exactly produce effects) with at least 6 Legendaries spread in the group on show at all times, yes 5 people can mean it is difficult to see some of the less-obvious animations. Get’s me downed quite a lot – but that’s why you can rez from a downed state.
That doesn’t excuse why there is no option to turn off such effects ingame
I tried 5 times. Then I got my daily complete and realised “why am I doing this when I can just throw sigils in for the daily instead?”
We need a “Remove target” hotkey.

Irrelevant. The last major additions to the game were ascended weapons and armour, doesn’t matter if you ‘need’ it or not, naturally most players will want to get a set or two.
The cost and effort required are really a bit much, imho.
Nothing is stopping them getting it, if they don’t want to put the effort in why should they get the reward?
“Ascended gear drops” , the chances are even lower than a pre. I think crafting a superior tier of gear shouldn’t be forced. It’s not like it was a legendary. I’d rather buy from TP directly 200g\piece, wouldn’t be too bad.
Have you any drop rate research to back this up? As in my experience, and my entire guild and map chats, boxes are MUCH more common than pres.
Maybe you should try getting it from places it actually drops before making leud statements like that?

Wildstar looks like puke. Probably ok game, but characters look like poor mans earthworm jim. Making my eyes bleed.
Graphics don’t make a good game, we know that. The art style appeals to some, reminds me of Ratchet & Clank come Torchlight 2. We don’t need super-realistic graphics for a game that is fantasy and loopy. The art for it goes well with their very American humor too.
Sorry to say, but I don’t think they’ll ever become unbound in the future.
From what I’ve seen, Anet wants ascended items to have at least some grind factor/timegate so they aren’t just instabought like exotics.
They can be instabought though, you just buy the raw materials and craft it yourself. Obviously, there’s privelege cost from buying other players “time” much like transmutes were in Warcraft.
ESO and WildStar are both going to be subscription based so I doubt Anet will have to worry about anything they put out.
ESO yes, but for WS there’s an option to “buy” game-time from other players – much like Aion. As long as the price of those items on the market can appeal to those who can barely play, it has potential to draw people from GW2.
Currently, the content that is being pumped out is a drag, meaning people are spreading that GW2 is not a game worth buying. This will mean not many people are coming into the game (notice how often GW2 has gone on sale recently?). People are drifting away from the game, and 2 more anticipated MMOs coming in will quicken that process.
Some servers will likely be shut down before June 2014.

not worth it. Legendaries are not even an interest for the majority of the population.
They need to come out with something that appeals to everyone, or at least release a wide range of content that appeals to different people.

No it won’t. I’ve stayed away from any ESO content, but even if it’s as horrible as rumors say, the number of Elder Scrolls fan will ensure success in that MMO.
@OP, I doubt new-legendaries are going to keep anybody in this game unless they were going to stay anyway.
But, regardless, most people in this game log in for daily & LS metas anyway. Those can be completed alongside other MMOs.

The truly, truly problem for a guardian is a condi/bunker warrior with bow/sword. Is an autolose for the guardian, you havent decent range, you havent soft CC, and you cant clear that amount of conditions. You are pretty dead as guardian vs that kind of warriors.

While true, I doubt that players would decide to buy these items with real money. The fact is, these items have been out for a long time, so removing them now doesn’t exactly make them “limited edition”. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them come back down the road for a week or so, at an increased price.
This will get people to buy them though. Even if they don’t pay with real money, theyll change their gold to gems and force the gold→gem ratio to change, and make each gem more expensive. This could lead to more people buying with IRL money for other items.

Zerker isn’t the only way to PvE, but it is objectively the best if you’re skilled enough
December 9th called and wants it’s meta back. Full zerker isn’t the objectively best warrior armor since ascended gear came out.
That however is still often times refered to as “Zerker” since assasins wont provide any defense either.
Pretty much that, assassins helm/chest/legs is still full zerker, its too late to change nomenclature for a late-addition.
If they buffed loot tables there would be a public outcry from the people who don’t play regularly enough to complete LS events. They would cry about how unfair it is that people who do LS events get good loot while they, who don’t complete the LS events are unable to get the same good loots.
God forbid a carrot to entice people to do new content!
And TESO/Wildstar has a lot to worry about. WS is competiting right in WoW’s back yard, down to the artwork and graphics (after WoD’s character model upgrade): no one has managed to out-WoW WoW. They need a reason for people to play it rather than WoW (other than just semi-slapstick humor), which is what I’m not seeing.
One good reason is you can purchase subscription time with in-game gold, much like you could in Aion. That alone is a reason for people to “check it out”, especially given you get 30 days free if you purchase the game (of course). Chances are, plenty of people will stay playing WS to keep it afloat for a very long time.

What your describing will alienate most the playerbase – it’s too late to try and make the playerbase transition from casual to “hardcore”. The game, would simply, cease to be profitable for them as the alienated players would leave the game, and the very minor players interested in a committed playstyle are not enough to keep the game afloat.
Fine exactly how it is, boss attacks are extremely telegraphed.
Because healing signet over 31 seconds (CD and Cast time of Healing Surge) restores 2300 hp over Healing Surge. Then on top of that, you don’t have to worry about getting your heal interrupted. Healing Surge is better for taking spikes of damage where you go from 100 down to 20 then will take another 50 within the near future. Healing Signet is honestly a crutch, the regen is so blatantly overpowered that it outheals other classes entirely where classes which have natural HoT are punished by their low HP pools.
That’s a problem by people playing sustained damage builds. HS is a counter to that – a bursty build will render HS useless.
Blame the meta, not the skill.
But at the same time, Warriors have two very potent Anti Burst skills Shield 5 and Endure Pain. Warriors are not unstoppable as people complaining about them say that they are, but they are the masters of inaction. They get such a huge net passive power that it feels overbearing for people to face.
Of course! how could I forget the good old 30/30/30/30/30 build with more than 2 weapon sets? Silly me.
30/30/30/30/30 builds are becoming very popular – not to mention the trait that allows 4 weapon sets.
Lol Guardian has no health.
But protection/aegis/perma vigor/blinds. Less health, but more defensive measures.
High cool down. Plus a guardian would likely have insufficient damage to down a warrior.
Aegis has a long CD, but multiple sources – a low CD for what is actually is. Vigor is “perma” (5 seconds on crit, ICD of 5 seconds), with low CD blinds. The protection uptime is absolutely ridiculous.
They do, indeed, have lower damage, but guess what – Guardians bunker, and they bunker well. A bunker isn’t supposed to survive and dish out massive damage (Warrior nerfed for this reason) they’re meant to hold, and hold, and hold, until someone with a bit more punch arrives.
