At the moment, even taking dogged march and 30 in discipline left me in a pretty bad position. The discipline trait line itself is awful, 30% crit damage and 3% burst damage is making me cry a bit how weak it is. I found taking the new boon hate makes me weaker against rangers and mesmers.

Also I would try out bull charge→ frenzy HB but that only worked with 100% quickness because HB itself is a 3.5s channel and bull charge being a 2s knockdown means it’s the only way you’ll get fully combo someone without getting destroyed in the process. I’m losing all faith in A-Net for even making warrior viable anymore. Dogged march is so worthless.

Just tried it out, and the verdict is…

I still have the same issues which is actually sticking on enemy players and I’m still kited to death since I have no sustain and no damage mitigation while dps gain is so little. I think taking 10 in strength for 12% damage gain is a hell lot better than the 30 in discipline. In fact taking another 10 in discipline for kitten poor damage only applies to guardians and engineers.

Elementalist still destroy me regardless of what I do. I can’t spec in anything well because everything decent is a grandmaster trait.

I’m just curious what experience others are having.

Incorrect I can tell you that if you are still in need of 20 slot bags, FoTM is THE MOST PROFITABLE dungeon to run. At lv48 you get 145 tokens, leaving you short 5 tokens of getting a 20 slot bag. This translate to 10g worth in the cost of crafting one. I for one don’t care for invisible or any of those special type of bags as I just need space.

In terms of other loot, the loot in general is just trash. They 100% nerfed the heck out of the Jade Maw chest. This is coming from someone with 2 characters level 65 pre-nerf patch, so I can tell you I ran the hell out of FoTM.

also, the OP is correct, this is the reason i don’t get Anet…. warrior damage is fine, really…
“boon hate” why warriors need it?

they better implement a trait which have more sense for a discipline tree. that goes something like that:

“walking on the edge”
burst skills damage increased for each condition the warrior have (3% for each condition)
burst skill removes the conditions and grant 1 sec of stability for each adrenalin bar (1/2/3 ) etc

this is a good grand-master trait with new meta of adrenalin and conditions management
the warrior will have a new choice: use burst now make small damage and clear one condi, or wait for more conditions and adrenalin and do the “big hit”, risking your life….

This would be very interesting change but atlas a-net doesn’t care, they made it 100% clear that warrior is their beat up class. They’ve made sure every other class can and will always beat a warrior and outclass him in every single way. From the responses we’ve gotten from them compared to the other classes is a joke. After this slight buff that won’t change a kitten thing except widen the margin in which a thief can now destroy a warrior by taking his SoR boons and walking all over him, expect the warrior untouched and left to die for the next 5 months.

I just want to thank A-net for making it clear from their half kitten responses that I should be playing an engineer not a warrior.

It’s only 3 hits that’s unblockable. Only hard hitting attacks are axe/rifle burst.

Also people keep forgetting +3% damage per boon doesn’t negate the -33% damage protection boon alone reduces…

Try gain 5% hp on using burst per bar USED*(This important as missing burst skills don’t actually drain the adrenaline). So 15% hp gain on using your full bar would be better. Looking at the numbers it would be decent and be an incentive warriors to actually their burst.

I just hate how guardian skills do exactly what warriors one does but with an added effect. Take signet of stamina to guardian’s all condition cleanse into boons, and basic stability. Looking at warrior’s utilities against other classes is just absolutely pathetic.

The ranks for WvW needs to be account bound because at the moment, I feel pigeoned holed into 1 character otherwise I’ll never get a higher rank. At the moment you need 600 ranks to max out everything most likely another 100+ for the upcoming patch. Also you can’t even redo the points you invested.

A-net needs to make make it like sPvP ranks where it’s shared among all characters and allow resets to points allocations.

Sorry kick only affects 1 target, and my rifle 5 does a better job, its instant and hits 3 (maybe5) targets on a lower CD and does way more damage. Why waste it on a 100% worthless utility.

It should be a blow out not a simple kick away and they get up instantly and apply cripple. But I think it should be a 300 range charging flaming kick that leaves a fire field.

I don’t get the point of showing the 1 guardian in the group. You got 3 warriors doing most of the dps and you as a guardian just bangwagoning on. You could have been a thief, ranger, necro etc and clear time wouldn’t have changed much. If you cleared it with 4 guardians + 1 mesmer in 5:18 minutes then I’ll be impressed.

Guardian’s dps has always been lackluster compared to warriors since they don’t inflict massive invulnerability + raw damage to boot in PVE.

You completely missed out when FoTM first came out. The shards were dropping like crazy at 30+, I’ll get 1-2 every run. I’m sitting on 95~ and I broke down 10 shards already. Shards hasn’t dropped like that since the accidently… I mean patch.

Saw the “sonic boom” in sPvp and laughed at how bad it was. It rooted you in place to attack and any average player can get out of it and proceeded to kill that warrior. I think this only works on players that has zero condition removal, escapes, CC and for those players I question their build.

I actually use Berserker’s stance in sPvP mainly because it doesn’t interrupt me. 0.5s cast time may seem small but it means I can pop it in the middle of a fight while I’m smacking someone in the face, to fill my bar to full from 50% eviserate someone and have it continue filling up the bar to full again for a killshot.

You’re zero armor makes me think any class will just murder you. This is rather glass cannon and you got no stability at all only 1 stun breaker on a 90s CD. Also your melee capabilities are rather poor so a melee thief will eat you alive. I’m hesitant on using a bow since I think you can just move left/right quickly and all your autoattacks will miss (I do this to rangers).

I think your build only works if you play ranged only while letting your teammates tank everything but alone you will lose to everyone.

I wholeheartedly agree with what you’re saying, but thieves need to be in melee range to attack in which they are forced to stay within my Combustive Shot. And that alone is enough to do a LOT of damage. Yes, as mentioned, this build is quite squishy and isn’t easy to play. This build is not a melee build so I don’t know why you think so. If you are referring to Mace and Shield, that setup is purely for defensive purposes only. Again, as mentioned above (if you read the whole guide) I state that this build does purely rely on defensive cooldowns or utilities to survive, but how well we are able to time our CCs and when to use them at the correct moment.

As I also mentioned in my guide, it is possible to swap out a couple of things which you would prefer to use. In other words, this build is very flexible. For example, if you want more stability, you can swap out Signet of Stamina for Balanced Stance etc. etc.

Only used thief as an example, but I’m talking about general melee classes will be able to get in your face and you don’t have much melee threat for them to back off. I’ve always looked at shield to be used as a gapcloser and to create openings (shield bash). The shield itself has no way to give you some breathing room, your mace burst does but that just gimps your bow’s one. I haven’t mentioned this but wouldn’t you lose to other ranged class? Bow’s burst is incredibly unrealiable since you need people to stand in it for the entire duration for it to be effective? I know most people will just dodge roll out and take only a bit of burn damage, I’ve always liked rifle because there is no dodging, all the shots are fast and only dodgeable by running behind terrain or dodging. Rifle also lets you maintain good position, you can snipe on a cliff and smack people back down when they run up to you with rifle 5.

I would love if they made it so warrior’ burst skill grants condition immunity for 3 seconds since it’ll add alot of dynamic game plays around this rather than the current situation where all warriors just run around with full adrenaline bar.

Doing this gives the warrior good high and low threats rather than be a walking free kill when other classes just outsustain or perma chill/cripple them into oblivion.

So, you’ve never thought to group with necros or mesmers who can… ya know… remove boons?

They only affect 5 people, and in a big group well… There’s more than 5, not to mention they don’t remove all the boons, also the ones that do remove all boons are only single target. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve lost 80% of my health with 1 attack from FT because guardians just spammed their retaliation.

Guardians have always been on the ridiculous level when with a team, I don’t know how A-Net balanced their game tbh.

A-Net please fix the +5 supply bug when taking camps. If you have 15 supply and attacked the supervisor, you’re total supply you carry will drop to 10. I believe a-net introduced a +5 supply gain on killing the supervisor at a supply camp for everyone that tagged it.

If TSYM was the reason SoS imploded, looks like TSYM will be the reason for Blackgate too bahahhaha. TSYM was said to be the “catalyst” for SoS failing in WvW. But it looks that has some truth to it cos TSYM is the catalyst for the ex SoS guilds failing on Blackgate too bahahha.

I don’t understand why you’d be laughing considering you are on Blackgate yourself.

Although you do seem to enjoy wearing fake guild tags such as Strike Forces and building rams in our keeps.

Tsym are a great guild and the blame on them was manufactured by a podcast show. They are one of the reasons that SoS was so great more than anything else.

MERC is standing up for Tsym now!? I thought you guys hated them and left SOS because Tsym drove you off and not because you were bandwagoning? Are you guys going to go to SOR now since BG can’t win?

MERC has always held respect for TSym, and now we enjoy fighting them as an opponent when we get the opportunity. No matter how many times we’ve stated our reasoning, nobody has ever listened. The biggest reason why we left SoS for BG was because we wanted to find BALANCED coverage. On SoS, after SEA logged off, there was almost a 10 hour coverage gap, where the only guild online at that time was VoTF. In our eyes, that was unacceptable for a Tier 1 server.

Obviously the coverage picture looks different right now AFTER 1+ months of being here.

We aren’t going to SOR.

This^. If you weren’t on SoS there’s a good chance you don’t know jack all about how it went about. The first 2 guilds to jump ship first were AGG and FOE, go figure they jumped ship AGAIN off BG. Merc has always been a guild of great people but just wanted better fights since JQ was stacked so badly. JQ was just PvDooring entire maps on their asian time zone and euro time it was hard to take back since everything in SoS BL was T3.

If you wanted to know how it was before the huge transfers came in it was more or less each server, SBI, SoS, JQ all stacked all their players in their respective BL and map capped it with the exception that SoS owned Stonemist 90% of the time. SoS won most of the weeks SOLELY because of that. Back then no server was stacked, only people you should blame are the JQs that were busy building trebs in EB JP rather than trying to take SM because straight up JQ owned EB JP hands down 24/7.

I’m pretty kitten sure I’ve played better players than that in random non tourny. I run rifle+axe/shield and only time I snipe the way you do is when I’m way high on a cliff so they don’t see me.

Also your build is so glass cannon you’ll almost die to 1 burst from anyone. You straight up won’t beat anyone 1v1 even if you caught em off guard. If you miss ur Kill shot or get blinded it’s GG.

Main problems aren’t just useless traits, it’s the fact that the DODGE mechanic is in place. A warrior can cripple a guy endlessly and a dodge will both be able to get him out of warrior’s reach and dodge anything. Everything a warrior has to close the gap are hindered by chill, cripples and a lesser extent immobilize(you can trait to ignore this) and every single other class has ALOT of movement imparring abilties or disables not including every single one of their escapes aren’t affected by cripples/chill.

A warrior pre-patch has relied 100% on catching their opponents OFF GUARD to win, which is why people are complaining quickness nerf hit warriors the hardest. People love to say warriors has amazing damage but its only if you can actually hit them and not get perma blinded. With limited gap closers and dodge mechanic itself warrior will always be at a bad spot.

A thief attacking me in stealth when I got my shield stance up won’t reveal because their attack is blocked. Seriously this seems more like a oversight than anything, if I block their attack to prevent them from always getting the first hit they should unstealth not be able to constantly attack me in stealth until they get a hit.

Please stop perpetrating this school of thought, it’s completely ridiculous that warrior has a functionally absolutely useless class-specific stat. It’s not like the other classes don’t get “pretty cool and useful traits that are hard to pass on” in their last traitline.

Every other class benefits immensely from their class-specific stat, why is warrior the only one whose stat does absolutely nothing ~7months into the game?
Not to mention how “Burst damage increase” doesn’t even do anything for 6/9 warrior burst skills since the only burst skills which point is to do damage are Kill Shot, Eviscerate, and Forceful Shot.
And before some PvE warrior says “b-but the crit damage increase in the trait line is already so good!” No. Let’s look at what the other classes get together with their 30% crit damage taking that they invested 30 points into their line:
Elementalists, Ranger and Thief: 300 Precision
Guardian: 300 Toughness
Necromancer: 30% Death Shroud HP
Engineer: -30% on Toolbelt Skill Recharge
Mesmer -30% on Shatter Recharge
and finally we have Warrior:
Warrior: +3% Burst Damage Increase.

Thief trait line is not precision its condition damage!!! Its the trickery line and nobody goes 30 points in it. 20 pts in trickery gets you like steal every 38 secs or something. From its 45 sec normal cd. The thiefs class mechanic line is crappy along with the warriors as far as its returns.

You also forget that thief steal is one of the best mechanics they have and most versatile, they can deal good damage, poison, steal boons, go in stealth, reset your utilities, it’s a stun breaker as well not including the 10s ALL BOONS bundle you can get. How is -30% CD on steal NOT GOOD? You want our +3% burst damage instead?

This is A-Net’s idea of warrior, it’s their baseline class, every other class will do better than this piece of crap. That’s their balancing policy, no other class will suck as badly as warrior. But no worries in the next patch we’ll get another +30 stats in banners and kick will be changed into “running kick” +50 range, lunging kick is too weird.

The problem with warriors is that their discipline trait is atm 100% useless. A-net just nerfed it to the ground by making it from +30% burst damage to +3% and just decided to leave it without compensating for it.

Doesn’t change the fact that a warrior has to either go full dps or full support and basically do jack squat, completely outclassed by a guardian. Their only realiable way to gain might is with GS trait which is where most of the damage comes from but you need the enemy to be brain dead and stand still and also not have protection boon up 24/7. This is the reason why they are decent in WvW but fall flat in s/tPvP, since you can’t get 100% crit chance and get easily 25 might stacks with HB + Whirlwind.

Hell I’ve played a ele/guard and gotten more might and constantly than a warrior (not going to mention a engineer that stacks 20+ might stack). Warrior has what over other ppl? Nothing. As far as I’m concern A-Net is just say atm we don’t give a flying fk about warriors. I just wish they just tell it to us players so I can just abandon it and delete my class.

More like 5 ability should actually have a 1200 range not the 450 range it actually is. Yes the aftercast delay is annoying since the cast time for it is about 0.5 seconds but you can’t swing for an additional second unless you swap weapons.

Posting the video is subject to criticism but in the end warrior is just in a state that its in. There really isnt much anyone can do with whats available to help it. Nobody wants to really run bunker on a warrior or let alone watch a video of it cause it will have “You do no damage” comments or “A ele or guardian can do that but better” so what is left? Glass and you can put together a good video of 1vX fights but we all know that it has to be the right situation to make that work.

I was dueling on my Warrior today and lost to a Guardian 5 times in a row tried bunker tanky etc. Switch to thief won no problem its just the way the game is for warriors at this point. Also also alot of stock cant be placed into 1v1 duels anyway.

It needs help from devs so a video is good but we all know warriors need something (protection, regen, or vigor) some form of sustain. Until that happens we pretty much seen it all so we can just enjoy it right now for what it is and if you love the class you stick with it. I have a mesmer, thief, and warrior and warrior is the most fun because of the challenge the other 2 are easier compared imo.

You are completely missing the point people been trying to argue. We are saying they are awful in tPvP now and you come along and say they are fine in WvW. Also looking at the video you’re just attacking people who aren’t even trying to fight back bravo, its a shame you don’t show the footage of you getting stomped by any decent players.

I would not want you in my CoF p1 speed run. Your damage+trait is just awful.

The optimal loadout is GS + Axe/Warhorn, GS for the 100B, GS3 (if you are against a wall) and axe 1 when those two GS skills on cooldown. Traiting should be 30, 25, 0, 0, 15 for damage.

There’s nothing in CoF p1 where you need to tank anything for long and where you can’t just dps down to zero.

When is a-net going to give the warrior something that’s actually worthwhile? Spending 30 points to get +3% burst damage is a big fat joke. Every other class gets something worthwhile and warrior just got kitten so kitten hard.

It should be something like -1% CD on burst skills. This will make a warrior 10000000x more dynamic since their skills(berserker stance)/traits reflect alot of adrenaline gain and we can actually make sure of this rather than wait on the kitten cooldown.

Kick is the best ability out there, making sure a melee oriented class has the ability to kick ranged oriented classes away from them once they catch up to them so they can spend 90% of the time chasing them while slowly getting whittled down.

Pretty kitten sure the loot tables were nerfed to hell. I know that pre-patch the maw chest gave 3 rares, always. Maw chest were guaranteed to have 1-2 rares. Also the exotic drop rate were cut about half.
This is coming from someone who has 2 lv64 characters who ran lv60,50,40,30,26 fotm daily pre-patch. Drop rate has been nerfed severely, same goes with rings. I’ve ran FoTM 1k+ times, as I hit the fractal achievement of 500 months ago.
You are not seeing this, the drop rate was nerfed its not just RNG.

All these thief criers complaining they can’t come out of stealth stab me for 2 seconds before I can even target them and restealthing 2 seconds later? Currently it takes me 0.5 seconds to retarget a thief when he unstealths so all I get is 1.5 seconds to deal damage because of culling. Sorry, there’s a reason why no one calls a thief broken in sPvP and broken in WvW.

I await the massive lag fest that is WvW. If you think day1 of Jormag events were bad since you’ll be lucky to just autoattack, I hope people will be ok with just showing up to a zerg fight and show up dead 5 minutes later since you’re computer just crashed.

First of all, he said “Alot of JQ were pretty casual”, and then mentioned that not the entire server had the same mentality. Second, when did JQ players cheat, do you have proof, screenshots? If you are referring to the random posts that were made on forums a few days ago, does that really prove that the major guilds on our server were hacking, let alone the entirety of JQ? If this is your stance, then every random hack/exploit accusation leveled at BG and SoR is true and represents the gaming mentality of that entire server.

I love how everyone just says well just report him, I wish there was because there isn’t a option to drop down box when you report players specifically for exploiters/hackers. For your information this was during the last week of JQ/SoR/SoS, the ranger died to the guards and respawned then showed back up here within a few mins. Look at the timestamp.
Every server has their share of bad apples, JQ just seems to have the majority of em with the mentality of “Will do whatever it takes to win (Exploits included)” since I always hear so many “JQ is hacking into our tower again” talks in our map chat.

You’re angry with knockback? Try it when the harpies at lv83 or lv84. Without a guardian you will die so kitten often since 1 burst from harpy = instant down. You’re pretty left with just sniping them from the starter platform. Overall the harpy sections are just absolutely the worst fractal design atm.

They’ve take the the biggest peeve of players and put it in there. JP with harpies that knocks u down or instantly downs u from full health with arrows that only few classes can mitigate.

08/02 JQ/SoR/SoS

Last night fights were intense. Ran with Tsym into JQ’s bay and I believe we must of cleared 300 man super zerg JQ with a 25 man team. My computer runs rather well so I can see everything and we cleared 3 massive waves only to see another massive culling hiding wave of JQ on the other side on the retreat. We pull back a bit and charged back out and I cleared another 100+ of them, only until our commander was swarmed that we had to fall back.
The zerg JQ brings is insane, took us two tries to wipe out the JQ super zerg. They bought enough people to build 3 trebs, 7 catapults, 5~ ballistas, 6 arrow carts in 1 go to attack our T3 tower. Later they had 7 balliatas, and 5 trebs at the temple of storms trying to take out our keep door.

I honestly would LOVE some variety. Currently, we’ve been at it with JQ for months. I could seriously use a new server to break skulls against. Having SoR is nice but honestly a complete reset was never a bad idea given how their new formula for rankings are calculated. Now we’re having the same same people to fight against.

Having to fight the same same same people means more hate towards certain guilds as you’re so used to the same people stomping or getting stomped on as opposed to a fresh new face where you can get a good feeling about and can just move on and fight some other server a week later.

Thief's Speed Hacking

I don’t think I’ve seen the speed hack yet, but I do recall an ability that lets thieves move at +50%! in stealth. Haven’t tried this out but that’s above what swiftness provides.
