I know what you want us to say.. And since it’s the truth I’ll just say it anyway: antistealth traps are completely useless in 1v1. I can see you placing it, I can see where you placed it, and even if I trigger it I can just shadowstep away and wait 30 seconds.
The problem is when we run with a zerg.. id we are in an organized zerg and we hae 30 seconds revealed we are walking dead body.

Of course yes! The better the weapon is, the better your damage output will be.
What about THIS, then? I lowered the precision and the toughness to get more power and vitality. I think that 33% crit chance is good enough to let the V major trait in explosives and the first firearms minor trait proc quite often.
Nearly perfect HGH build with perfect equipment but not the sigils. They won’t stack. Change Sigil of Strength to Sigil of Corruption – then gg. I personaly prefer ascended trinkets with Vita/tought/cond – but that’s a personal choice.
Sorry, in my post I wrote “sigils” instead of “runes”. But I didn’t know that sigil of strenght and sigil of battle don’t stack too. So do the runes of Hoelbrak, fire and strenght stack?
Also, what does X trait in Alchemy mean? It says that when using or throwing elixirs it removes conditions from those affected.. ??
Hello guys, I am truly fascinated by the engineer so I rolled one. Firstly I tried it in SPVP and then I decided to give it a try in PvE and WvWvW too.
Well, it’s a beautiful class. I would like to try it condition based, rabid gear with this setup (WvWvW ORIENTED):
Can this work? Is it better rabid or carrion? Does the 20% might duration of the 3 couples of sigils stacks or not? What does the X trait in Alchemy mean?
A lot of peope is panicking for nothing.
You got 30 seconds revealed? Infiltrator’s arrow x2 -> shadowstep x1 -> /laugh at your enemy while being at 2000 range from him -> wait 30 seconds -> get your kill.
If you don’t get the kill.. well, he wasted 525 karma, 15 badges and 10 supplies for NOTHING.
Nope, that’s not the build I want. Basilisk is needed for a venom-share support build.. One does not simply not share a 3 seconds stun to five allies..
They should decrease the AC damage of about 20-25% in order to still be able to use it to “counter” blobbling. However the most important nerf they have to do is their RANGE.

Thieves easy kill everything if played right. We excel at this, in fact we get a lot of QQ from the wvwvw section.
In spvp, though, since being able to kill isn’t the most required ability thieves suck. It’s a matter of perspective.
I’m quite optimistic and I think that they will not nerf to the ground anything else. Instead I really think (though I don’t know why) we may get some buffs with this patch.
Even if I’m not on SFR anymore, I can ASSURE you this person DOES NOT represent SFR.
(and he’s talking nonsense, since SFR wants to drop one or two tiers and surely does not want to go back in t1)
GOD NO. If you are good enough you can handle revealed and unexpected revealed. With no revealed debuff even the stupidest and most idiot thief would escape from everyone.

Mine. Balanced D/P build 0/10/30/30/0 with berserker equip and some knight.
This is why thief community is so harsh and desperated at the moment. We have already been nerfed and other nerfs are on the way, still silly people complain and whine about us.
Do you think we’re OP? Roll a thief and let’s see if we are really OP as you say. People in wvwvw die because of thieves because EVERY thief is built for dueling and 1v1 while 80% of the wvwvw people are built for group fights. In fact in sPvP we are the most “meh” class after warriors.
Though I agree with OP he probably didn’t notice that all pur survivability comes from stealth. What’s our best condition removal? Stealth. What’s our best form of HP regen? Stealth. What’s our best way of regain initiative? Stealth. How can we deal more damage? Stealth.
I would like the incinerator. For what concerns the unicorn shortbow.. meh. I would be enormously embarassed by that thing.

In wvwvw? Yes, I agree. But if you stop and think about what a thief can do in spvp you will suddendly realize that he can only do C-R-A-P. You HAVE to go glass cannon to deal damage but then you are just a walking dead.
Higher tier =/= better server.
Higher tier = we have more coverage in time zones.
Infact, lower tiers get better fights than the blobs of higher tiers
This. Actually, all the best WvWvW focused guilds are below T3.
It depends on your build and your playstyle. For example I prefer to get
“fleet shadow” and swap SoS with Infiltrator’s Signet (check my video), but when I run D/D I feel that SoS is somehow “required” because you don’t have access to “fleet shadow” and all the damage is focussed on backstab and you can’t land the bs if you are slow. Especially now that Mug isn’t an opener anymore.
If we are in stealth we can’t cap. You could just stand inside the circle and /laugh at us.
And win the tournament, of course.

Am I the only one who finds this sad? Servers fight to NOT to come up a tier instead of fighting to be the BEST (a part from Vizunah Square). When I meet people in my server they just tell me “hey, don’t conquer that keep, we RISK to come up a tier if we keep conquering!”. We RISK. How sad and disappointing. T2 Servers fight to not to go in T1, T3 servers fight to not to go in T2. Oddly, T1 servers except Vizunah Square “fight” to DROP a tier.
“Fix” the blob, seriously. I would like to compete for the title, but not in a “who has more people wins” way.

It’s pretty easy to kill them, to be honest. The hardest classes to kill are eles and engis (thought I still have to fight an engi after the confusion nerf).
Or did I just meet a condition guardian or engi when getting hit for the 220?
Retaliation damage depends on the buffer’s power, not on condition damage.
This is the average damage you can get if you’re not glass cannon with 25 bloodlust stacks, 25 might stacks and probably AS.
You probably read a QQ topic and thought thieves do 30k damage with CnD Mug and Backstab.
Imho they should just raise the supplies neeeded to build an AC. And maybe lower their damage by 30%.
but venoms were healing 625 hp then, now it’s 325+0.2 healing power
and -625 to enemy hp but now we have 325+0.0175*attack power…meaning 325+35 at 2000 power…
care to discuss about that nerf also ?

I still use my 0 10 30 30 0 build. I still kill. I know that this is not viable for a burst class, but due to the recent nerfs we can’t play our class like we did before. We have to adapt and change our role in tpvp. We are no longer able to burst someone down in few seconds, not even whit full glass cannon traits and gears.

Before the patch when you activated a venom and you swinged in the air just pushing #1 without hitting anything (therefore getting “miss”) the effect of the venom disappeared just like if you already applied it or you got blocked, blinded etc.
That patch just said that the effect of the activated venom no longer disappears if you don’t hit anything.

there are 3 utilities added more than refuge and blind, if you can get enough stealth without having to bring the extras.Again, at least you didn’t bring HiS, you’ve graduated first grade.
I like this guy. He’s like “hey, I’m the D/P boss and I didn’t even watch your video so your argument is invalid”. Funny thing is that I use HS through BP without having to be in the circle, but you didn’t see the video at all (maybe 10 seconds? 30?). Another fun fact is that you probably never had a hard fight in wvwvw, otherwise you should really know that leaping thorugh BP while stealthed and hitting a target leads you to pop out of stealth (solution: bring blinding powder for stealth when you can’t stealth with HS due to the amout of enemies around you). For what concern Shadow refuge for once you’re right. I could not use it, but I like to have a free out-of-jail if I get interrupted during my BP+HS chain and I’m in trouble.
But the most amazing, funny, incredible fun fact is that you behave like everyone else is garbage.

D/P is “viable” or “OP” (doesn’t matter which word you use) is simply because it offered thieves reliable condition removal. Closest to this is with dagger offhand but it required hitting the kitten to produce that stealth, which can be blocked or missed.
You want to nerf D/P, then first nerf all condition producing skills, nerf AoE, nerf CC, nerf everything almost every other class relied on to produce their damage….
The only other “option” is to give thieves removal like ele or guardian, or even a warrior, and what will that do? More people will complain about stealth, then you really have no way of keeping this class (given one agrees that stealth was what makes a thief thief)D/P thief (with the correct traits) is a powerful build, but requires flawless execution UNDER PRESSURE to pull it off. It has a higher roof (in term of execution) but also a higher floor, and in this sense much like d/d or s/d eles with X/X/X/30/30, except it’s more balanced towards dps, and does not make the thief enduring (very small amount of regen compared to those eles).
Those that complain about D/P thieves should really try it themselves before crying about it. There’s a reason not a lot of thieves are running D/P.

I prefer to kill them to force them to come back in wvwvw to get the map completion so they create queues for the enemy server.
D/P > everything. You CAN’T lose against anything if you are skilled enough.
