I think they should take a page from the Team Fortress school of thought and make keys trade-able and add exceptionally rare items that you can only get from chests like a unique armor skin, mini-pet, or versions of runes that give an awesome aesthetic effect when you have all of them equipped (Rune of Vampirism makes you look like a vampire, etc.)
No-no-no-NO!
The whole reason I have no problems with the current chest system is that keys aren’t tradeable (making an annoying market for them that tries to cheat you out of them at any chance you get) as well as ensuring that there’s no over-zealous expectation for a drop. I’ve opened many crates from Team Fortress 2 with nothing exceedingly stellar coming out of them. In the end, I feel cheated every time I see it taunt me with a “chance” at getting something extremely special.
Keep the Black Lion Chests as they are.
Should have just made Heartseeker cost more initiative.
I’d like to see this option for controls. GW2’s combat feels great, but it is a bit annoying to have to keep managing the RMB when all I need is movement.
WvWvW cannot become the go-to place for earning gold. There has got to be a penalty there to even out the increased earning potential for dealing with many different events in rapid succession.
I’d like a small “social” popup, nothing too intrusive just above the chat window that shows for a short amount of time someone who logged in or out.
Give me a reason to use my G-keys? That or just map them to some unused keys on the keyboard. I’ve had a few times where I’ve wanted to yell at people to “keep fighting, I’ll be up in a second” in the middle of a frantic boss fight, but lo-and-behold someone tries to help me up causing the boss to pay attention to me just as I’m about to rally.
I’ve found myself following along the track in my head, but I get quite surprised when my brain tries to go along Morrowind’s melody, and Guild Wars 2 suddenly goes another. There are some very similar portions.
I can only speculate, but..
I would assume lower quality means the sound is handled via CPU and that the game also has less channels to play with, resulting in certain sounds over a certain number to just stop. Good games can (for the most part) pick and choose which sounds are needed to cull, but it can be noticeable sometimes.
Agree completely. I’d love to be able to turn off the boon voiceovers. They’re pretty corny, and get really repetitive. The achievement lines, too. I don’t like hearing my character say such over-the-top comic phrases all the time.
But the Asura are that great, and are genius…es.
Noticed, submitted a bug report in-game about it.
Buy your wife a copy, and you’re set!
I don’t know.. I like the tonics. They’re fragile, but I’ve got a lot in stock and they’re fun to just run around with if you won’t be doing much for a bit.
I think it’s fine as it is. The Gem-shop is expensive, but the chests as they are are fine. They don’t promise an amazing “1%” drop. They don’t give anything outside of something that is useful, but disposable and a toy. It’s best where they are now. The keys could go lower in price, but I’d rather the content in these chests not change.
They just need to take “Survivor” out of the monthly thing. It’s unattainable unless you’re running a higher level and it’s unfair to block everything just on this one inherently unattainable (without crafting, or mindlessly doing the same event 80 times) goal.
Because you didn’t keep him in combat (if he teleported away?)
Disconnects are a bit more difficult to handle.
Farthest I’ve gotten is 57k. I’m getting a bit frustrated since I can’t actually do anything with this and it is the only monthly achievement that’s blocking completion.
The golems are handing out free tin-foil hats if you want one.
I still download content at roughly 1.25MB/s.
Keep in mind that a few places do indeed store the CCV as well. Steam is an example.
My ticket for this same issue is 3 days old now, and as such I have been forced to cancel the card associated with the gem shop account.
Disgusting behaviour on Arena Nets part..
That’s a bit quick on your part, and I really don’t think “Disgusting” means what you think it means.
Give them time and I’m sure they’ll work with you on it.
In overflow there’s no feedback. I don’t know if going to overflow after queuing loses your place (as I’ve never been allowed in while in overflow), but ugh.
I’ve been waiting now for two and a half hours as well as a number of members of my guild.
So I’m sitting here, unable to move from zone to zone (for fear of being thrown to overflow) waiting for my queue for WvWvW to finish so I can get in. Problem is the queues are stupid-long. How do I know which WvWvWs are doing poorly, which ones are going well? How do I know which ones will need the most support from my guild and myself?

ArenaNet will do what ArenaNet does. I doubt any suspension is automatic barring reactive security measures for compromised accounts.
I know, I’m just upset at not being able to play just because some jerk wanted to try and hack me(this is the only possible explanation) and even more upset that i have to wait hours & hours and still not get a response from support about it.
I am a victim of the hacker and a victim of arenanet support system.
Blame lies with the people compromising these accounts, the people who didn’t abide by good security principles, and ArenaNet’s staffing. You’re likely going to have to wait days, but support will speed up as they get more CSRs on.
permanently damage the relationship? That was done already and might I add that Anet with the poor support did the damage.
Yes I have been first to admit that my brother could have picked a stronger password. Yes the ‘hack’ may be down to his initial failures to ensure the safety of his account.
Then you freely admit this isn’t ArenaNet’s fault. Your brother will need to wait till ArenaNet can sort his problem out that he caused on his own. You know what would have bypass ALL this headache? Proper security on his part. This is his fault, not ArenaNet’s, not yours. Smack him and educate him on the importance of practicing basic security.
The rest of this is irrelevant as the whole thread has turned into someone did something stupid, and is mad that he can’t be taken care of right away since a lot of others did the same thing and are in front of him.
There are no hoops here. Submit his ticket, wait for a response, respond if necessary, get account back. It’s a combination of people being impatient and lax with their security and ArenaNet’s admittedly poor staffing for support.

You won’t likely get it back, they don’t have restoration services yet.

Heh. Strangely the statue is not the thing I was looking most forward to. I’m really not a fan of the Charr. I hated every second playing in the Charr baby area during beta…killing Ascalonian ghosts, even ghosts of NPCs that I met in GW1
But he does look awesome on the photo’s I’ve seen, I have to admit that. Once I get a box, I’ll have to solve a first world problem: where to keep the statue (and box)
If you can, do see about ordering a copy of the OST. While I’m disappointed that the CE only has a sampler, the soundtrack is just that good. The artwork is great, as is the tin. The artbook is great too with some interesting little tidbits.
Check to make sure your e-mail addresses aren’t compromised.
You sound like you were hit. Randomly named characters are made so they can more easily get around filters and ignores. They delete characters to free up character slots to switch between and to force you to put up a support ticket about it to try and slow down the reclamation of the account once they’ve stripped your character. It also makes it harder for people to claim the account is theirs (or so they assume.)

perhaps they should be pulling EVERYONE from what they are doing to work on giving the people who have already paid them the service they paid for.
Because developers, artists, lawyers, and hardware technicians do the same work CSRs do.
Its not hard they could grab the guy at the street corner with a sign and give him a 10 min lesson on how to reinstate falsely suspended accounts and he would be a pro at it.
It’s nowhere near that easy. —Okay, more appropriately the action isn’t difficult, but the research is a bit more involved. ArenaNet is hiring more support anyway.

The Rytlock statue puts Darth Malgus to shame.
Aidan I can’t contact support – when I try to log in it says that my password is incorrect or that my account has been disabled.
I’ve got the same problem with support too, but your best bet is to “Ask a Question” if you haven’t already submitted a ticket about it, or reply to the e-mail you got when you submitted your ticket. Just reply, and write your update in the top, leave the rest there as the system should be smart enough to put it where it belongs.
Malformed code. Don’t worry about it. Your suspension should expire properly.
I hate to say it, but in the end it’s ArenaNet’s opinion that matters, not yours.
Aidan.. how dare you confuse me with your thread merges.

You should be just fine. As long as you register any retail key for your region (even then I’m not sure if keys are region locked) you should be able to continue. The type will determine if you get CE goodies or not.
I wish I didn’t have to sacrifice bag space for my Rytlock.
Send a support ticket, I heard they may be able to turn it off.
You can also find or get a “Box Safe” for yourself. These function like standard bags, but the contents don’t show up in merchant trades nor does depositing materials take anything from that box.
can we get a definative answer on when you have paypal working properly for gem purchases...

Black Lion seems to be having trouble with gem purchases and shop purchases. Just give it a try here and there. You may also want to consider sending a ticket if you’ve used that Paypal account (or card) on another GW2 account.
" not even SWTOR had this much trouble at launch…."
This much trouble? Not a single person that I’ve played with has had a single issue with the game since launch…
lol your in the minority
I didn’t have any troubles with SWTOR either at launch. ORIGIN on the otherhand..
Registered my CE and received none of the in game items

Did you check your mail?
I just did the math and realized.. I’ve spent $245 on Guild Wars 2 already. CE, Full Soundtrack, and Gems…
I’m loving Guild Wars 2, but I need to cool it some.
I’ve had no issues putting gems into bank space so far, but I wouldn’t want to have to start buying dungeons separately. While DDO’s transformation to a free-to-play game was fairly beneficial to them, my friends and I who played found ourselves fumbling to make sure everyone had access to this-or-that campaign.
I’d much rather just have normal expansions that open up the play as needed rather than having to buy bits and pieces.

yes by law, look at other comapnies that have been “compramised” sony, took them over a week to tell people that credit cards have been stolen.
Blizzard took over a week to tell iran that WOW was no longer availible in thair country even though they baught mist of pandaria and are not giving refunds.
yes companies are supposed to tell us by law, doesnt mean they do.
Yet you cited companies that did report breaches. (Sony reported in a week, Blizzard reported in four days, Trion Worlds reported in less than six days.)
Blizzard’s issue with Iran is completely different and has nothing to do with IT security.
Hah.. if only I’d put up some gems for a character slot, but I’m too busy buying bank tabs and bag slots. If only it happened there too. I kid of course.
