To make things actually enjoyable, ArenaNet should simply remove non-Berserker gear from the game. Then the only “progression” left to people is to get more skills (as in play skills, not game skills).

Then we’ll get this kind of conversations:

- “But I can’t do that boss”
- “Well, try again until you get it”

- “But I play how I want”
- “You want to play bad?”

- “But I like healing people, I see I help them”
- “Actually you don’t because dungeon forum”

- “But I need to tank because the noobs need help”
- “They need to play better. The sooner they get good, the better.”

Then we’ll all be fine because people will know how to play, and GW2 will have become a better community \o/

The Balthazaar Event is poorly tuned and it’s not clear how you prevent moral from dropping. Babysitting NPCs is never fun, especially not if you are somehow required to save them from taking damage when the game offers no real mechanics to do so.

Morale is dropped when one of the guy you escort dies. Focus on quickly killing the veteran subjugators and healing the npcs and you’ll be fine. I run it for months 2-3 times a week and we never failed with this in mind.

For a pure condi necro, I’d go with precision after conditions. So I think Rabid is your best bet.

But for a necro in dungeons/fractals, I’d go with raw damage, using spoj’s build. But’s that’s a zerker build.

If you have an item with 3% chance and you are guaranteed to get it after your 11th try, it’s not a 3% chance anymore: it’s a 9% chance (or actually bigger, because I don’t wanna do maths and I know it’d be bigger)!!

To report the exact way of performing an exploit, you can send it to exploits@arena.net. I never received any feedback from that e-mail address though. Not even a “thank you”. Yet I was infracted several times for reporting an exploit and was redirected to that exact address, so I know it’s the one.

About toggle, what I see is the following: 5 seconds before a champ dies toggle it on; 5 seconds after it dies, toggle it off.

I prefer 12 times 2 hours or 24 times 1 hour.

Why do they have initiative?

Burst.

If you think about it, after the burst, they have a generalized cooldown so the thief fits in this.

A guardian being able to spam Mighty Blow would be OP or any other skill actually.

The initiative fits well the thieves class, just leave them be, as you should let the other classes be with their per-skill cooldowns.

The troll is a nightmare when in a party with newbies. Because the newbies want him dead and they won’t skip until he’s dead.

So I learned my lessons. I let my party die then I solo him and tell them that they should basically skip him until they’re more experienced.

Well, guilds are cross-servers and I can guest. So what’s the point of transferring? I’d rather stay in EU. Maybe if I’m bored too much without finding any alternative, I’ll switch to NA, but I’d like to give EU a chance.

Regarding rT, Dub said me he’d expect me to solo Arah p2. I trained for two weeks, but got nowhere, killing Belka only four-five times and miserably failing on Lupicus repeatedly in phase 2 when I passed Belka. So I simply gave up about it.

I want to join a dungeon guild.

There are three big names when it comes to good dungeon guilds: DnT, LOD and rT. Only rT is in EU.

I recently wanted to join rT and was presented some requirements I just cannot meet despite watching videos and training: I’m a bad solo player… but I’m good team team player. I would fail should I try rT’s exam only because of the solo requirement.

But I’m bored of pugs: I just can’t bear playing exclusively with pugs, barely making 2-3 dungeons paths an hour when in an experienced team I could make 5-6 dungeon paths an hour. I often have that taste of fast runs when I get in that jewel group where everything goes fast and not only because of the FGS exploit. But it’s only a distant taste and occurs too randomly.

I know it’s a kind of auto-congratulation, but people actually cheer when they see me being a good guardian, saying it’s too rare. You cannot verify that, but well, that’s the case.

But but… I have room for improvement and sometimes I play a bit inconsistently. Some days I shine like no one, some others I’m the worse player ever. Also, I’m bad at Arah and had never the opportunity to melee Lupicus. But I’m a good learner and I want to learn.

So if you know a dungeon-centric guild that I could join and that meets the following requirements, please advertise it:

The guild should:

• allow ~50% rep time: I have friends I wanna chill with in a guild. There’s no way I’ll not rep that guild anymore.
• allow me to stay on my server: because personal bank guild, WvW and friends, but mostly bank and WvW.
• be able to run most dungeon paths and fractals: Arah is my Achilles’ heel, so this has to be run so I can learn it properly. I still have troubles with the new fractals as I nearly stopped them because of bad pugs.
• be mature: because I’m 31 and I don’t want to run exclusively with kids half my age and I don’t want to read “——” each line when I put the swear-filter on.

The UI should be improved, I totally agree. But while it’s not the case, you can still know who the instance owner is by watching (the start of) a dungeon video. The player being shown is the instance owner. Of couse, Fractals don’t have such videos so it doesn’t work everywhere.

Ive always found the most basic requirements, like “experienced pls”. Lead to decent pugs. Sometimes you get odd builds and leechers. But often they arent bad enough to warrant a kick. It is a pug after all.

Well, make sure to specify “experienced” and not “exp” which is understood by most noobs as “explorable”.

I usually buy my obby shards each week. I can usually buy 30 of those. Except this week. I bought 80 of those. What’s the difference? I played WvW for 20 hours over the week where I didn’t do that before.

There is a lot going to be implemented in the March 18th patch. How much however is unknown.

They never gave an answer wether expnasion type content would be released in a traditional retailer package, through gemstore unlocks or for free in the living story.

They will not tell you what to expect ahead of schedule. They decide to tell us when and what to tell us bout what future content.

As the 18th will not be a traditional expansion pack, I do not think that any info bout that patch will be given before the 11th (one week ahaead). And on top of that, they have been giving leeser and lesser info in the one week heads up announcement as well.

So wait and see!!

Wait and see? I can already read the patch notes for the version 2.0.1 of Diablo III for a while now and that version is gonna be released together with (but without dependency to) the expansion… after the presumed date of the huge feature build.

Also, I never read they’d actually deliver anything on March 18th. They always said after season 1, which ends on March 4. We all assume it’s March 18th, but no one is sure.

All I’m asking is for the big lines and some samples that are gonna make it for sure from day 1 (unlike Fractured’s weapon skin boxes or leaderboards). Examples are like “we made improvements in the guild management, the way your inventory is patched and we made lot of your stuff account-bound rather than soulbound, but not all”.

Regarding the less and less information they give, it’s an incentive to leave the game. It’s more opaque. But it suits what you see on TV with one-episode-per-week series. Well, actually, it suited (past tense) because they had a story. Now that we’re back in QoL, they should bring back good old habits and shout their features like any MMO. ArenaNet should be proud of its game and put its feature in front page. They should create a buzz around it using their weapons. Making videos about an oath was a failed attempt and rendered the game/players silly, why not go back to more traditional business?

Yeah, be my guest, use that build. When you’ll have more confidence in your skills, you won’t need that many dodges and you’ll switch back to obal’s builds.

If you move 5 from Honor to Radiance, you dodge less but you can spam blinds. I prefer blinds as it benefits the group to not have to dodge where with Elusive Power, you only increase your own dps while forcing people to dodge and lose dps.

Next week we get the concluding chapter of Scarlet. Good because after that we get the so long promised “huge feature build” with “a lot of quality of life improvements”. (source)

Remove the confusion from the mind of players.

Goal of proposal
This proposal is there to make sure that the players understand exactly what you mean. For instance, you meant to add leaderboards and weapon skin boxes. So far we haven’t seen any. So people speculate about whether it’s ever gonna come and lengthy discussions about it come and go.

Implementation

• Produce clear statements about what is gonna come in a release. If something is available at release, mention it. If you advertised it and did not make it happen in the end, mention it. Clearly.
• For the special case of weapon skin box, the info came on the 10th day of “Fractured” (“Fractured” was out on November 27th, the info about no skin box came on December 6th). This should not happen anymore. In the release notes, there should have been a clear mention of the absence of the skin box given that it was advertized.
• Make clear statements about the leaderboards. If you still want it, tell us so. We might be a bit harsh, but we can understand delays. Make it a goal for end of 2014 if you want, as long as we know. If you got rid of the idea, please tell us. On a personal note, I’d actually welcome that. Opacity has never been an answer.

Risks

• You might have more understanding customers instead an angry mob for no answer.

I’d like a build that allows me to do these things, without dying suddenly if I suddenly get swormed by 3+ mobs at once, like has been happening.

What I’d use is a 15/15/0/0/0 build at level 40 with Greatsword and Hammer while you’re learning to play guardian. Once your familiar and can avoid most hits switch to GS/S+F.

When fighting several mobs, you have two possibilities:
- you separate them, kiting one and killing it, then going to the next one
- you gather them and control them.

Separating mobs is rather trivial but is long.

Killing them at once is harder. Here’s how I do it:

If they are ranged, they probably throw projectiles, so I drop a wall.

Then in any case I use binding blade (GS5, once), then I drop my symbol of wrath (GS4) then pull (GS5 alt). Now I blind them with leap of faith (GS3) and finally I deal my damage with Whirling Wrath (GS2). Then, if they’re still up, I switch to hammer and control/dps them. Then I proceed to the normal rotation described in Obal’s builds. Also, pick good skills to mitigate damage (blocking heal) and use your virtues to avoid the big hits. You already play a warrior so you should know the tells to those big hits. With a warrior you usually tank, dodge or evade those. With a dps guardian, you can dodge or evade but rarely tank. In that case, you have to use your damage mitigators. This works at any level but becomes more and more effective as you level and get more powerful.

Once you advance you’ll want to get Vigorous precision and stack precision. This is a training wheel. Once you’re comfortable, put those trait points somewhere else unless you keep the GS/hammer build.

Most of the 12k+ AP guards I played with were cleric staff guards. Doesn’t this say all?

It’s the worse requirement of all. I always have troubles with those groups: they can’t play. What this requirement means is “you must have played enough LS to play with us”. Now, do you actually need to play LS to be good at dungeons? I don’t think so.

I remember, regarding AP, that in June/July, the first guy ever to get 250k kills in WvW was a guy with barely 2k AP, and he was part of the (probably) best WvW guild in GW2. So there are absolutely no relation between being able to play and AP.

Same for PvPers. They don’t have a lot of AP yet they are very good at playing PvP.

AP is just a short for “Living Story involvement”.

Make Fractal weapon chest available

Goal of proposal
“Fractured” was advertized with the fractal weapon chest. This chest doesn’t drop as of now. Keep your word and provide the fractal weapon chest as soon as possible.

Proposal functionality
Currently 50 is the highest scale players can play. For getting there, make them get their rightful reward and add the Fractal weapon box to the possible rewards. Make it so one in four fractal weapon skin is such a chest.

Revamp the tier system

Goal of proposal
This proposal is to remove the tendency to roll for the Swamp fractal. Before “Fractured”, people would simply reroll if they got the Underground Facility, Volcano or Cliffside. Only the hardcode people would actually roll for the Swamp fractal. Let’s go back to something similar but with our tiers in mind.

Proposal functionality
The tiers are kept but are more hidden. A full run cannot consist of two fractals of the same tier. The first fractal is however entirely randomized accross all tiers. If the first fractal is from tier 3, no other fractal of tier 3 will occur and the two other fractals in the run will be of either tier 1 or 2. This proposal removes the need to “roll for fractals” as it will become more tedious to get the expected fractal (usually Swamp) given that there are more and more fractals. Before “Fractured”, it was hard to roll swamp. Now there are 3 more fractals (in tiers), it’s become even harder, forcing players to settle on easier fractals and adding variety in the runs.

Associated Risks

1. It’s possible that people will roll to not have a specific fractal (read Underground Facility or Volcano), actually rolling for an easy tier 3 fractal and not caring about tiers 1 and 2.

I’ve said in the first post that this kind of third party apps should not be acceptable from a company that wants to deliver a worldwide product. I receive the same answer again and again. Two things about Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

The first is: please, implement a UTC-clock in the game. We currently have the options between “server time” and “local time”, this is not enough for international guilds. We have lot of people from various locations and to communicate, we use UTC. Why UTC and not server time ? Because it’s the worldwide standard, used everywhere, everyday.

The second is about your communication. You always communicate in terms of Pacific Standard Time (PST). Ok, you’re a Seattle-based company. But your audience is worldwide. Switching timezones is confusing, so usually people know their own time and UTC. Plus, currently you force people to know not 2, but 3 timezones: their own, UTC for the daily resets and timing and yours for communication. Don’t force your customers to use third-parties.

So please, consider your worldwide audience and use UTC more. It’s beneficial for you and for us.

Ok, thanks. I wont be ashamed anymore and you’ll see my ele in dungeons (pugs) more regularly as of today.

So I recently finished levelling my ele (she’d like to thank my guardian for all the tomes of knowledge from PvP).

I’ve been testing the dagger/focus builds but I simply cannot learn all those lengthy rotation. And when I do one correctly, half of the advertized buffs are gone.

Happily, there is the staff ele. Easy peasy. Even simpler than a warrior, and by a hazardous wonder, it has the highest dps (if, and I mean “if”, I read Guang correctly). I have 3 blasts (earth 2, the heal skill and arcane blast) so I can bring my share of might and fury.

So I’m wondering. Is it worth bringing a staff ele in dungeons? Even if I’m the only ele in the party? I have no real troubles dropping my summoned weapons when needed or even surviving (given that the group is average to good).

I agree on fixing skipping, but only for the meaning “skipping mandatory events”. Change skipping trash mob? No.

Pugs? That’s all of you in my eyes ^^

We enter LA and we’re all scattered accross overflows. The time for us to confirm that we’re all on overflows. We select one of us and everybody tries to join that overflow. Full. We try with another one of us. Full too. All the overflows were full. So we did the event everybody separated.

This is not friendly. At all.

I implore you, find a way to make your overflow mechanism friends-friendly.
