You end up dead though, don’t you, even if your counter is at 0.
But I think this challenge is more about personal honesty.
The farthest I went was level 23 personally (without any leveller item) so gratz to you Liberis since you beat that by a margin!
Why do you even want that leaderboard? Just because they promised it?
I’m happy they broke their words on this because it’s just plain dumb to ever want to measure this. Also nearly everybody is level 50, so what’s the deal? Oh great, 100 pages of level 50 guys.
There you go. Already one of the 5.
Tazza does drop… if you kill Kaeyi before her.
She doesn’t drop anything. Ever.
I haven’t checked in the last 6 months, but before it was the case. Has this changed?
I can’t find the topic anymore, but I remember somebody showing 100% map completion while being around level 60-70. It might have been a fake. The person was careful not to participate in any event and get as few kills as possible, like doing hearts’ alternative ways of completing instead of blindly killing mobs.
Tazza drop nothing. Doing her once per day is enough.
Tazza does drop… if you kill Kaeyi before her.
I destroy my BLSKs. I get too many of those and I never paid for any. I have one on each of my 8 characters and a 3×3 spot booked in my bank for them; it’s full.
All I use them for is salvage exotic armors (as I forge the exotic weapons).
I was in a zerker group created by an ele for AC p3. That ele used FGS on the 4 big burrows, we were all zerker so everything melted.
Once at the boss, the same ele says “FGS 1 minute”. He seriously wanted us to wait 1 minute to kill the boss with FGS, not realizing that we could do it easily kill in 10 seconds or less by stacking on the boss. He was flabbergasted that we did. I was flabbergasted that he was flabbergasted: it’s like he always use his FGS and thinks that nothing can be done without it.
Range is exploiting: you avoid the melee mechanics.
Yep, block, then check in the block list the guy(s) that is/are in your BL.
Why exploiting the boss from range (makes the boss unable to use melee attacks on you) is better and not deserve to be changed?
Quoted for emphasis.
Shout heal spec FTW!
No wonder zerker was nerfed if the game producer loves tanking with his 34k hit points and his dolyak runes.
Oh yes, give me his ingame handle so I block him and make sure I never play with him please.
but def already said it will be fixed.
Really? I never ever read it. Do you have any link for this?
I own Sunrise and Juggernaut. I want something special too!
Get real and be happy you can merge the two into a single, better looking one and still have access to the previous skins.
What the hell is this? o_O
That was someone else or I don’t know. Because everytime I’m asked to go back on my 80, I do it. The only thing I refuse is to come to the WP to help because I’m one-shot anyways. So your view of the reality is distorted because 1. it wasn’t me or 2. you were the one guy (over 20 runs I joind) asking me to relog and waited litterally 2 seconds (and I mean “litterally”) before kicking not leaving me any time to proceed.
I’ll check my screenshots to see if one is you (but I screen only right before sending the money).
Anyways, I don’t wanna judge sellers individually, but the main mentality. If you offer a service in Arah, don’t be surprised lowbies join.
Well, my actions to join such a run are simple:
- I join with one of my 80s (I cannot join with my alt).
- I say “Hello, I’ll buy this run for my lowbie”.
- I make sure I either get a positive answer or no answer. If I get a negative one, ok, I’m off.
- I stay with my 80 until the party is full. If the guy asks for the gold now, I give it at that moment.
- I relog with my lowbie previously parked in Cursed Shore.
- I enter the dungeon.
- I pay the seller.
- I enjoy the tokens and the XP.
So I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong. Am I? Ok, I get more out of this than all the other buyers, since I get levels, but this doesn’t explain everything.
Anyways, I can find my Arah P1+P2+P3 every day (been doing it for 3 days now) so in the end I get what I want. It’s just that I often get kicked at some point (more than 50% of the groups I join).
The 3 days, that’s the time for you to find a group decent enough. All you speak about is one instance of CoE.
If I want something, I run it again and again until I find the optimal party to show off. I get a good party for any path at least once every 3 days and I run each dungeon only once a day. What if you ran the dungeons more than one time in a single day ? Well, you maximize your chances to get a group decent enough. And if you made some mistakes, just run it again.
So either you weren’t really motivated or you’re just bad an complain about it.
So go on, create your own lfg, gearcheck, ask for experience (not that stupid AP requirement) and kick any who joins but doesn’t fill your requirements. You’re not being a jerk by doing that: you’re being a player concerned about the quality of your run. People you will reject will consider you a jerk, but hey, you did basic gear requirement, you didn’t scam them, you were upfront with them.
As summary, take your own destiny in your hands. You want something, you gotta work for it.
Also, this should be in the dungeons subforum, not the main one.
For low levels I have a few sellers who contact me and ask if I want the run. They’ll say “can level alt”. In an hour I get about 4 of these messages. My advice is to get a rapport with legit sellers and join their runs. I can also ask my sellers to add you to their list if you like.
That would be nice, thanks! But I’m on EU, not NA
Be prepared to switch back and forth a lot if the selling doesn’t go smoothly. Can’t relist with sub80 in party.
Yup, know it, but thanks anyways. It’s always useful to note it somewhere for future reference.
edit: most p3 sellers expect the buyers to help with boss and you get less money back. so I don’t recommend leveling through p3.
I want the tokens as well and I’m too lazy to run Arah atm. So it’s two birds with one stone.
I went to Cursed Shores with my level 35 character. But the XP there is bad (can’t tag any mob despite dealing 200 dmg over the span of 10-12 hits) so I thought about buying dungeons. The ones that are being sold are AC and Arah. Good, I have access to the two.
But what? People don’t accept level 35 tagging along for Arah? Is my money different? I went in several sell topics and got despised (“too low level” at p3, another time I got kicked – and refunded, a last time I was kicked before being able to send money simply because I confirmed I was me on this forum) or being kicked at p1 and p3. Those two paths can be 2, 3 or 4 manned, so why do they reject my money?
Others on the other hand are amused seeing such a low level coming to them and even escort me to get the final chest (because yes, I get one-shot, no matter the setup I use).
So I learned that getting such a low level in Arah is mostly negative, I just don’t know why. Can anyone enlighten me? No group needs 5 people to finish the boss, I witnessed it.
I’m a hoarder, I had those runes before they became so expensive. Also I got several thousands of gold in bank, so I could offer me those and not care at all. Anything else?
And me who was levelling my alts the hard way with all those ToK in banks. I was really wondering what those were useful for!
I tried something different that also worked!
I took my phalanx warrior. A guard pinged Empower as we pinged our banners. In turn, I pinged my Strength runes and said that staff is not necessary in this setup (1 staff/blast ele, 3 wars of which 1 phalanx, 1 guard). He switched and didn’t use his staff at all for the whole three paths !
I was impressed!
For the next season, please change the system. Swiss round is really boring for some servers. Basically the server that rolls over everyone is green. The server in the middle stays blue and the server that gets beaten by everyone stays red.
I don’t know for other leagues, but Silver EU, we have Gandara that keeps the top spot, Gunnar’s Hold that keeps the fifth slot and Fort Ranik that keeps the ninth slot. So Gandara stays green, Gunnar’s Hold stays blue and Fort Ranik stays red.
Also, since the servers stabilized in their position, Gandara has never fought us (Gunnar’s Hold) again and we absolutely never fought Fort Ranik (I don’t remember fighting Ring of Fire as well, but I might be wrong). I guess, Gandara will only fight 3 servers in the rest of the time (Piken Square, Abaddon’s Mouth and Far Shiverpeaks). And Fort Ranik will only fight Aurora Glade, Drakkar Lake and Ring of Fire.
In the lot, by staying in the 5th position of the silver league, we are the luckiest ones since we see nearly all servers.
So you actually made it so what you wanted to avoid a year ago with a random factor in the pairings has appeared again.
I don’t get this topic, I always ask for a staff guardian voor TA…
(Btw howler is nice on ranger too)
Yes, staff guardians in TA are good (if there are blossoms to kill).
Everywhere else they suck.
This is why you kick them once you reached the first champ.
25g for a fractal run at level 37 ? oO
Wow, just wow!
I agree with OP. If these materials can be farmed just by playing pvp, why shouldn’t they also be farmed by only dungeoning? I think you should be able to either get it all from one place or split it up. Give us more options!
YEAH! I only harvest onions in Queensdale, I demand that I get my Dragonite from onions! Who is with me!?
o/
@DonQuack: What is that “Never Forget” in your signature? Wasn’t it supposed to be about the fractal reset instead of some clothes thingy? O_o
Whetospu did a solo of AC p1 on his warrior. Before the remake of AC, last year. So this video is for nostalgic people only.
/ignore VideoGamermike.5813
So, based on your advices, I used the beloved /kick command.
I created that LFG, said zerker meta builds only for a full run of AC. I didn’t care for the profession, just meta-build.
Do you know what I got? Dozens of guardians with staff. First pug to join, a necro zerker, a real one! God bless him! And then the journey into oblivion started. Kick over kick. The staff guardians aligned to join, I kept asking to ping their main weapon, all of them were staves. So that was a real kickfest, the necro accepting any kick I asked. In the end, we finished with this group: 1 guardian (me), 1 necro, 1 ele, 1 engi and 1 warrior.
This was one of the fastest runs I ever had. No one got downed, all bosses melted. All paths were run very efficiently.
So thank you for the advice on kick. I usually kick after starting a dungeon, but doing it preemptively made my run very smooth. Sure it took time to get a party full of meta, but it was well worth it!
Once again, I’m unable to join the game because the login server isn’t available.
I isolated this IP address from the GW2.exe-related open connections: 205.251.242.188. The connection was done to port 80. I pinged it, without result. So maybe it’s local. Happily, it’s on port 80 so I checked with isup.me and I got the same result.
Please check what’s going on with the login server: it’s really often down and puts me out of the game for no reason!
Also, is it really necessary to connect to that kitten login server? I still have complete access to the game. Only connecting to that login server is problematic. And poof, disconnected. Once I’m logged in, I shouldn’t log in again every 2 minutes or whatever timer you’ve decided to use.

Thanks all for your suggestions.
Wasn’t there this trick where torch was decent against the dredge fractal’s elemental boss? I think I remember some video of it when AH was the meta. I tried it at the time but was never convinced. Happily the pure dps option was put on the table short after that moment.
This past Friday, I throw 20 exotic staves in the forge and got The Legend on my last try. My guild was furious, given it was my 7th precursor drop. I wanted this precursor so I didn’t sell it. To be fair, I’ve done this regularly since my last precursor drop in October and I estimate I’ve spent 1300g total since then in exotic staves being thrown in the forge.
This Saturday, I casually help guildies in CoF. I drop The Hunter in a reward chest. My guild stopped playing and went straight to the Mystic forge. This one was sold.
Actually, the gold obtained from the The Hunter will finance whatever I’m missing in for The Bifrost. ^^
God, it felt good !
When I see a guardian with a torch I run as fast as I can.
I haven’t seen any in ages in PvE.
newbies who are like “dis my hammer, love my hammer”, good at least you have a weapon that can provide real utility inside the battle).
Hammer also has quite competitive DPS for the record.
Used in the proper build. Which I doubt he had with only 3 traits available (being level 45, hence the “newbie”). But indeed, he’s on the right track and I say those guys to continue using their hammer.
Actually they are willing to go to zerk. They just want to go there a foot at a time. They don’t want to buy the full zerker stuff to only get downed because they’re not with their (huge) training wheels anymore.
When I pug and get a guardian in a group, chances are he’s with staff. Actually, I haven’t seen a non-staff guardian in ages (except mine and newbies who are like “dis my hammer, love my hammer”, good at least you have a weapon that can provide real utility inside the battle).
So, how to tell a guardian that he just should give up on staff for dungeons like CoE, AC, CoF!, etc. and that staff is more of a situational weapon. I want to be able to tell him and still finish the dungeon. So far everytime I mention the topic, I’m seen as a berserker scumbag (yet the lfg said zerker only). But also, I don’t want to shut up because they can’t play. I know I can’t educate people against their will, but I wanna try anyways.
So recently I’ve seen a massive interest in dungeoning in my guild. But they’re all WvWers and killing mobs is… quite long. Not because they lack the ability to dodge or we fail often. Actually, they dodge very well and we almost never fail any battle. But, the dps is very subpar and as you know, the most you play against a mob, the greater the chance to get downed and I’ve seen huge pikes in my survivability because I’m a zerker and those battles take twice the amount of time to fight as they used to when I played in “omg zerk only” groups.
They don’t want to switch to zerker directly, so what’s the best “switching” program I could offer them? I have thought about going from soldier’s to knight to zerker, but isn’t there some cheaper alternative like switching some items one by one from pvt to zerk? If yes, which items first?
you get the trait for killing the risen priest, not cleansing the shrine. Your ele would came for the wrong event
Thanks for clarifying this. Is it written like that in the game (when you hover the glass next to the trait name)?
If I put it correctly, I had the choice to either lead the event, make it succeed for everyone and not getting the trait or let it fail because no one would respawn without being given the command by a commander?
Also, this is a major reward, it should be rewarded at the end of the event chain, not in the middle of it.
From bug, this issue goes to fail.
Yesterday, I was roaming in Cursed Shores to level up my level 50 thief (awesome levelling in Orr, btw) when someone shouts “Grenth up”.
I wanted the trait on my ele so I take her (I was in a party, so it was easy to find the server back) and we fail. Miserably.
At this moment, Arah is opening so I take on that event and go there, we succeed. Good.
Right at that moment, Grenth is up again. Yeah, that was fast, but I’m not complaining. So I park my ele next to the entrance and switch to my guardian with the blue dorito to give some directions and some orders to have it succeed (including the infamous “if u r dead, respawn, u noob”). We succeed the priest event. Great, loot time. I switch back to my ele (yay megaserver you put me again on a wrong map), I join when there are still 2 minutes left. And we succeed the event.
I got a chest with the dragonite. But anything about a trait? no. Did I have that trait before? No, and I still don’t have it.
So, I guess this is one more bug.

Personal satisfaction yesterday. In the past I tried soloing several explorable dungeons, always failing. Yesterday, I wanted to try solo again but after 2 deaths on Kholer, I gave up and tried AC story instead, for the first time.
I was surprised on how easy it was. I only had some issues in killing Vassar and I ended up ranging him while Eir, Garm and Rytlock tanked him. Happily I killed him fast enough because those npcs drop like flies. The only real negative point was I gave the slots to my guildies and they didn’t listen to me asking to not step in in the final fight and they came to “help me” kill the boss. -_-’ I already soloed him several times in the past when the rest group was wiped, so I didn’t bother much.
It’s not big, but I like it and wanted to share it.

The terrain collision check is done locally on your own computer (that’s why there are so many wall exploits in dungeons and pve and sometimes pvp). If you want collisions between players, it has to be done both on the client and the server (because if you don’t do it on the server, some might simply find a way to deactivate it on the client and not collide anymore at all).
Being a programmer, I know for a fact that collision is one of the most time-consuming things that exist. You want WvW to lag more? Yeah to collisions!
Remember when ArenaNet limited the AOE? Well, deciding who is impacted and who is not is one sort of collision. So, actually if you want to be able to play WvW, you don’t want collisions.
I have had lots of issues yesterday as well from Belgium. I was unable to connect to the game (unable to connect to the login server, it said), yet all my other permanent connections worked well (Teamspeak, music streaming, etc.).
This happens more and more frequently and for longer and longer times.
If that may help more, my ISP is Belgacom. I called them when the issue happened and they said I was permanently connected to them for the past 12.5 hours.
Yup, agreed.
But for lots of people, text is hard to understand.
What To Do After Making a Legendary?
Make a second one?
All in game reports are read and acted upon, we have GM’s that literally just sit there and watch “velocity reports” (named as such due to the speed of the reports being made).
I’m sure they all have a similar picture next to their desk.
@Lilith: I will solo RP walk the dungeons from now on! Yess \o/ Because players may not play how they want: they have to play how Poisonwell wants.
@Poisonwell: why should I read your post when you clearly haven’t read the FAQ?
I am so skipping this thread.
