Yeah, better that they fix these imbalances.
Even when I play as Healer/Boon support Elementalist, Ice bow and FGS are pretty much mandatory, since they’re also demanded by some players…
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
Cc and boons are the core of high level pve, we already use them.
Being limited to high level PvE, it still was optional on everything else, that is majority, playing support is also part psychological, they want to help others, but their part is mostly optional and have very little effect, than going full berserker.
I was talking about mobs, most of the mobs barely use boons. Boon removal and boon conversion are not quite used in PvE, save for very few encounters.
Neither did majority of mobs use large amount of conditions, so each profession’s own basic condition removals were enough.
Before Giant Beetles (Which are better off CCed so they’re flipped on their backs, making them vulnerable from all sides) and Three-Toed Tootsie (CC was required to stop Tootsie from escaping), there weren’t much of mobs to CC either, use of CC was mostly optional, most veteran and elites weren’t much of a threat to CC often, since it was better to kill them quickly. Champions mostly had the level of threat that they’re better off CCed, while Unshakable wasn’t the main flaw, it was a small part of the problem.
While the Mordrem and other Season 2 mobs offer more reasons to play other than just DPS, they still weren’t designed to force players to play specific roles, thus keeping it closer to the “Play how I want” concept. They do give more reasons to play healer support and CC, better results is there were few healer support and CC.
The old content, which favored mostly direct damage builds, healer support and CC being mostly optional, this doesn’t satisfy the players who want to cooperate and help others, psychologically too.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.

Guys, it’s a 1 year old post.
Those who can’t live without trinity, time to save up for a WoW monthly fee.
Because that’s the only difference between GW2 and WoW right?
When people say this argument, I always wonder what they think to themselves. “Oh yeah, this is a good’un” like they’re totally blind to how bad an argument it is.
It’s not an argument, it’s an advice. If those guys don’t like how gw2 combat system is done, they’re not tied to this game. It’s not like the game has much to offer for pve players besides that fast paced combat style where my guardian supports everyone in full berserker. Complaining about the absence of trinity in a non-trinity game is kind of stupid.
That’s the point of MMORPG’S (MASSIVE MULTI-PLAYER ONLINE ROLE PLAYING GAMES) If creating a full virtual quest filled world were pve is not worth wild, why make a game at all? Just build server based pvp and be done with it.
Which brings it to the point, its catered to low level base players. So people who hype about this game being awesome are mostly people who failed in team rolls, or who cant even understand the point of online massive multi-player gaming to begin with. Its probably mostly failed counter strike kids who play here. So you can say “save for a WoW sub” But I highly doubt you know the true meaning of mechanics and team work when it comes to online game play. A 10 year old can beat this game, so you should feel accomplished that this game had so little to offer in aspects of a true MMO.
Just go play sims online, im sure you will feel the same effect
The Problem is content, the GW2 trinity would see great use, but “War against Zhaitan” part of GW2 is designed so that every class can complete it without forcing players to wait for eternity until other important classes join in the party, the bad thing about this design is that most mobs are designed more or less for direct damage builds, deal high melee damage, mobs that are good CC targets usually are Champions and most don’t possess complex mechanics or abilities (Such as heavy DoT, heavy armor, etc. Players are not always even required to keep moving during combat, as long as they kill the mobs quick enough).
Question remains, will ANet update the old content to be atleast abit more complex, increasing the use of DoT, Area denial, boons, conditions and etc.
On other hand the new Mordremoth content does offer some variance on mobs and combat mechanics, DoT, Heavy armor, area denial, etc. Everything that forces players to move and gives more reasoning to bring healing and CC into combat and satisfy psychologically the players who want to support and help others.

Well, I’ll add this one here too:
Very likely, mounts are gonna be like the Mechanic Devourers in EotM. They’re transformations with advantages that are limited to specific maps, due to design that they’re part of.
They possess same limitations as Junundu and Siege Devourer in GW1, replaces player model and gives skills associated with the transformation.

Speaking of longbow animations…
Rapid fire with humanoids (males seem to tilt the bow abit) and Charr, I don’t exactly like the vertically held stance, in my opinion, it would be better of performed with horizontally held bow, like asuras do.
Also that the rapid fire looks almost like they pull the bowstring to look like rapid firing, looking like they are not using arrows at all with each pull…
On other thought, Charr and bows, they seem to have issue with incorrectly positioned bows, atleast with longbows and as a warrior, the bow points forward, but the bowstring is pulled sligtly angled. Animation issue on Charr characters with bows…

Well, I suggest you start killing champs (and lesser extent world bosses, on atleast 2 daily reward chests should contain 4 exotic loot boxes) for exotic loot bags, those things have high chance to drop Scroll of Knowledge.
Those are your account bound skill points.

Well, this is quite old, spotted it sometime later, after GW2 was released.
Hawks and other animals that use the same model, have their folded wing animations messed up. Their wings don’t fold correctly and the ends of their wings then clip into the ground.
It’s a small detail that is visible when the pet is standing on ground and not moving.
Quite easy to see if one has ranger and all birds unlocked, when comparing to eagle, raven and snow owl, which don’t have same way folded wings.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
Perhaps with the new content that comes with the maguuma, and hopefully an expansion to GW2, would make other stat sets and builds useful.
Since the original GW2 content, Zhaitan’s part, is quite bad for most builds and stat sets.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
More like, Zhaitan ignored the races of Tyria, and suffered defeat because of it.
Mordremoth, obviously to avoid the fatal mistake made by the last active dragon, tries to nip the threat in the bud…
Who knows, the dragons might be linked to each other telepatically or use their minions to relay information to other dragons. More possibilities.
Then again, it’s possible that the Pale Tree planned to use dragons attack as to convince the other races as you said…
The dragons thought of us as regular black ants. Turns out that they were mistaken and that we are actually bullet ants.
As far as I know, humankind is plotting something to kill the bullet ants leaders (but it wouldn’t surprise me if they are holding summits against us :p).
Of course, the “we are ants to them” was something told to us way back and in an interview (!). Considering the story, it seems that this isn’t the case anymore and that EDs are just your plain old evil mastermind with “kill everything” goal and unlimited power who we manage to defeat because they keep underestimating us and “love and companionship triumphs over pure evil”.
Especially, since the last time the dragons were awake, the ancient races, Seers, Mursaat, Dwarves, Jotun and the Forgotten were fighting a loosing battle against them.
Finally the ancient races were forced to go into hiding, with the aid of Glint and Seers’ Bloodstone.

Or possibly if ANet figures some update to graphics, allowing player’s weapon set to be displayed all the time.
Like one has shield and sword in one set and another set is greatsword, both are displayed, while that player uses one set, drawing either shield and sword or greatsword
.
Although if there’s weapons that use same spots, like onehanded and offhand hip holsters, that I dunno.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
Its funny how narrow minded people are. If they were to add mounts, they could do whatever they want. They’re not limited by how they did things previously.
But so far, something similar to mounts in GW1, only exist in EotM, the mechanical Devourer, which is a transformation.

Only way you get mounts, is Transformations that replaces your character model and are limited to specific areas, like the mechanic devourers in EotM.
Same is to be said about Siege Devourers and Junundu in GW1. They replace your character model and you take the form of the mountable creature, and they’re limited to specific areas.

This is the dark side of every playable race’s government and culture.
Humans have caste system, off which many just try to increase their own power at the cost of others, Bandits and White Mantle cult.
Asura leadership wants to hide information they deem harmful for their position on council.
Sylvari have the problem of being dragon minions.
Norn have the problem of their philosophies of life, this drives many to join Sons of Svanir cult, cause the most common interest is to gain more strength.
Charr have the issue of group that want to keep warring with humans, the renegades, to which some Charr defect into.
I’m not ok with uniting with the Charr, but I guess we don’t get to choose.
Death to all warmongering humans and their warmongering gods!
While it might be bad that Charr reclaimed their homelands, it wasn’t justified for humans to do what they did since their arrival on Tyria…
Over the course of GW1, there are revelations about the deception in the GW1 manuscript, that is written in the viewpoint of humanity of Tyria.
- Five out of six Gods directed humans to wage war and genocide against the Tyria’s original races, what a kitten move from the gods.
- Humans drive the Charr from their homeworlds.
- Humans kill millions under the order of the 5 gods
- Humans then proceed to take creation of other races and make them as their own (example: Bloodstone was created by the Seers to hide magic from the Dragons).
- Humans rewrite the history in their favor, justifying more horrid actions against everyone, even themselves.
- Traces of the Elder Dragons are pretty much wiped clean, except for the information written by the still existing ancient races. There can’t be entities, which power drives the six gods into silence, so they have to be erased from history!
- Humans start worshipping other deities, like the Grawl, starting their great civil wars…
Atleast Melandru tried to make humans to communicate with other races…

Well, in a way they’re mounts, but they’re very likely transformation. There is most likely never a transformation that adds additional model to your own.
Like the mechanical Devourers on EotM, they change player’s appearance and skill bar, but don’t display the player character with the mount.
Same as Siege Devourers and Junundus in GW1, your character is not placed on them, instead the model is removed and you take form of the “mount”.

It was pain as they were more running away than trying to kick them in the face, many of my CC’kitten the sides and back of the beetles, since the idiots ran away all the time…
But then again, when ever it was successful hit, watched as the beetle flipped over with successive CCs, beetles started to melt quickly.
Well, gotta agree with Boneheart, they don’t need much of a buff, these beetles, unless there’s more serious problems with some players with incapabilities…

Every war has politics…
Even in real life, right now, it’s all politics and nearly everyone trying to avoid it, regardless of someone suffering.
Your ‘best friends’ with a guy working in an gigantic organization solely focused on fighting dragons. So, why wouldn’t we contact him first? He works in organization dealing with our problem AND our ‘best friend’ is their leader and oh, we are (one of) their best commanders, so getting a hold of him shouldn’t be that difficult…
So you’d still have to attend the Summit meeting, just inform Trahearne of all recent stuff, then let him talk, while you stand on the back, listening the same discussion.

I didn’t feel anything. Why should I? At this point I’m sick of having the sylvari almost everywhere in the story. The only reason I actually fought the dragon is because I was stuck up there.
The fact that there was no reason for that summit in the first place certainly didn’t help (you discover that a new dragon awoke and instead of contacting the people that fight dragons, you contact the people that deal with politics) as it made it very predictable that an attack of that champion would happen (and as we are fighting a plant dragon, it was somewhat predictable that he would look like the champion plant dragon in the sylvari starter instance).
The only char. I “felt” something for was Tybalt… Great voice acting, great looking character, decent backstory (although these days it seems we need to be happy if a char even has a background in a timely fashion)

i havnt tried it yet but what if u fear them? xDD
i think this could pretty much suck..^^
doe conditions do damage when u are behind him?
thatd be a nice touchyeah i like the idea as well
even if u cant backstab them unless someone else flips them for you
Giant Beetles are immune to damage and conditions from any other side than it’s head. Conditions will keep doing damage, if you managed to apply them on it’s head.
CCing, including fear, will flip the beetle on it’s back, making it vulnerable to damage and conditions from all sides.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
The time they’re on their back is enough, their exposed bellies melt like wax. By the time they flip back over, they get a dagger in the skull.
I like fighting them, as annoying as others can make them.
Oh well, I might as well blame the zergs that are mostly killing them, they don’t even use CC at all.
Primary problem why I haven’t gotten the grasp of their flipped over state much.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
Well, not much to say about them, actually.
Their unique defense characterists is very nice.
When CCed, they’re flipped on their backs, making them vulnerable to damage from all sides.
But I get the feeling that their flipped on their backs by CC frames could be a tad slightly longer, making CC to be even better against them.
I’m not saying they should be flipped over for 10 seconds, I don’t know how much longer would be good for gameplay.

Bandits are possible too, they have operations on Maguuma Wastes, but no exact info tho.
Riot Alice was in the bar of Town of Prosperity, talking about her connections and stuff.
Should there be more mobilizing on Maguuma Wastes, it could hurt their operations.
And then again, there’s the Inquest, except most details of their operations there is quite unknown, looting of the Zephyrite ships is recent activity, which doesn’t point out what other operations they have.
Another possibility, The Sinister Triad could make more of an appearance.
Nightmare Court could take more interest on Maguuma Wastes, once they find out about other Sylvari trees…

1. Mounts
2.Open world housing market
3.Open world dragon encounters and destruction.
4. Open world Hunger Royale events spawning at random times and places. The word will spread out fast.
5. Introduce all 6 God realms as 10-man dungeons/zones.
6. Living Story heading to Mursaat Lands (we got infused)
7. Make Living Story leading to a new Continent. (Expansion)
8. Please give some love to PvPers. Give them GvG’s and Hall of Heroes.
1. Mounts? There was a short distress with the Waypoints, but Taimi’s machine fixed them, now the Asura are fixing the broken WPs.
This pretty much means: No.
4. Hunger Royale, would be instanced, never gonna reach open PvE, there’s no plans for open-world PvP.
5. The six gods are silent, possibility that we get access to them is by dragon tearing a passage to mists, but I don’t think it’s possible to get to UW or FoW.
6. As Infusions go now, ascended gear is optional which means nothing main story relevant will never come, Mursaat will never come into GW2, they’re either written to be killed off by a dragon in the background without us doing anything or we never know what happened there.
7. It’s happening already, I think that the LS will end on next year and the Mordremoth fight will be boxed expansion, hopefully.

Yea it’s a common problem with minions, sometimes they get stuck on between movement and attacking target.
Best way to get all minions to attack, is to stand still until all minions have moved into position, then initiate auto-attack, tap it multiple times just in case, once the attack hits, the minions should target it and attack.
It’s a slow method tho…

Why condition builds are not very rewarding (gameplay and psychological) right now: Design of the hostile NPCs
It’s quite clear that mobs, majority that is, have high HP and almost 0 armor. (Hopefully ranks have multiplying figures, so that they boost every stat, not only NPC’s HP and DMG)
Since high Armor is counter against direct damage, high HP pretty much counters conditions.
In some ways, putting more high armor mobs could make conditions more desired, but in turn this will, little by little, combat against the “play how I want” philosophy.
But when thinking about group content, the variance of mobs wouldn’t be overwhelming, due to the number of player and some of them using other builds.
For Solo gameplay, it’d be better off to keep variety of mob stats out of it.
Then there’s some good sounding ideas by the community, for PvE-only condition mechanics.
Critical conditions (Don’t remember much of the details of this idea, but I get image that critical hits would instead result in dealing the condition damageXduration as armor ignoring dmg), Unique conditions that are applied on specific number of stacks and etc.

HawkThis hawk is a crafty ally. He is a fierce and deadly predator that inflicts bleeding wounds with its claws and beak, while evading counterattacks.
EagleThis mighty eagle is the most majestic of birds. They are strong, deadly predators, inflicting bleeding wounds with their claws and beak while evading counterattacks.
Snow OwlThis snowy white owl is a graceful and elegant pet. White owls are fiercely loyal to their friends and family. They unleash chilling cold and claw slashes on their foes while evading attacks in a flurry of wings.
RavenThe raven is cunning and clever. Its intelligence makes them excellent scouts. In combat, they evade attacks and strike at their foes’ eyes to blind them.
Should these pets have short evade frames on some attacks? Well, atleast I haven’t seen any kind of damage mitigation or evasion with these pets.

Well, atleast when I used it with 4 points on Beastmastery, Pet Provess (Adept Skirmishing trait), 25 stacks of Master’s Bond and Sic Em, the raven could hit about 2k-5k with it’s attacks and Raven’s Blinding Slash.

Based on what it does now.
But the biggest problem is:
Stacks are lost when pet is deactivated or swapped to another pet, pet gets forcefully deactivated when entering water, even if player just swims on the water surface.
Problem being that your pet doesn’t gain 5 stacks per player kill and most dungeon mobs don’t trigger stack effects. Water being the pain in Åss for deactivating pet…
My opinion: Stacks are retained, even through swapping pet in combat, as long as the pet doesn’t die.
Switching pet to another from the set, I have no ideas now…
Well, what are your opinions?
