GW2 shares same concept as GW1, gear stats are capped, no matter how ascended or elite.
But it was supposed to be capped, Ascended gear wasn’t suppose to exist or even be slightly higher stats than Exotic.

I want Melee Spiders!
Desert Spiders (the icon exists, but is used for cave spider), they have nasty pincer like chelicerae (where spiders fangs are), 2 of them, which are used to chew bits off the prey. The existing Desert/Canyon spiders appear like them. Solifugae
and Red-kneed Tarantula (active ability could be “prickly hair cloud”, which is a defensive measure Tarantulas use, by scraping hair off their backs, which then fall on the predator, has tendency of hitting pores on skin, causing irritation) Red-kneed Tarantula
I did very loose research, so it’s not accurate tho.
Hopefully some sylvari pets too, but I think those appear once we get to a friendly/neutral tree, that is not affected by Mordremoth or Nightmare Court…
Maybe Fern Raptors or even Fern Snakes!

They have changed some of them. But, people have adapted and it is easy again. After all this game is 2 years old.
The one that really changed, Tequatl, people complain is too hard. They want to kitten it.
All of the higher end World bosses have been changed. People have adapted and they are easy again.
Did they add variety to mobs encountered?
Fingers are one, but they were unique to Teq event. Rest mobs in the event were same high HP and DMG with very low armor design, Rank ups (speculating) seem to multiply the affected NPC stats, thus higher number stats are affected most (high number stats being HP and DMG), while lower numbers (being armor) changed only little.
Tri-Wurm encounter, there is a unique mob “Partially Digested Husk” (unique to the event) with lower HP and very high Armor, but it was just the only unique NPC type compared to the rest.
Rest mobs were HP and DMG, with low armor.
What about Dungeons? Well, I haven’t done all of them in depth yet, but there were only high HP and DMG with very low armor mobs, rank ups increased HP and DMG…
What I’m trying to say is that there should be variety, taking the new Mordrem as example, on “group” tagged content.
Old mobs barely even buffed each other, or worked in tandem, making the need for CC and Support very minimal, I’m still talking about content with “GROUP” on description.
Possible reason for nerfing the rewards could also be because of the group(!) content being too easy, players used the best available option, which is Berserker, against most of the group content.
Solo is only element that doesn’t need to be affected by variety, since it’s just 1 player.

Well, it does depend on the mob abilities, if they cannot create situations that would require Support, like heavy AoE, Area Denial and heavy conditions, no one will play as one if you can get away with it with just Berserker…

There was no “aspect of Ceara”. Why do people want to idolize – heroize, or whatever – a rather poor character and an obviously pure evil villain at that?
Just like Taimi… and what did the little pipsqueek do? Oh, yes, ran into a “makes-you-insane” device as it turns on…
The Device makes you insane, pretty much only: if you’re Sylvari and either part of The Soundless or The Nightmare Court.
But still, there might have been something left of Cearas personality, but we don’t know, we’ll see in the future…

“Zerker Feed’ as you put it is the player defined meta. Just because ‘Zerker’ has the most damage does not meat it is the most desirable build in game to use. A.Net has already decreased the damage output of zerker and if you do many of the higher level world bosses, you will see many people being downed and many of those are ‘zerker’ builds.
Until you get the ‘zerker’ meta out of the player, you will never change the way the game is played.
It still is “zerker feed”, all mobs of the old content have medium-high HP, high damage and low armor, rank ups only increase health and dmg primarily, and give Unshakable,
stats that pretty much counter CC, Conditions and Support builds. While supporting more Berserker builds. (I really hope the rank up on newer content won’t be only HP and DMG tho)
The lack of variety on old GROUP content, like I wrote on my post, is quite the problem.
Pretty much only time there are any players downed or defeated, is the heavy use of AoE damage and area denial by the mobs, boss or worldboss, to which the players who just tend to go all “charge in -> spam 111111”.

Nice idea by the OP, would be nice if implemented, but for now you just have to block then report.
I would also love to that blocking will hide the messages of the blocked person immedietely…
Hence blocking, I don’t want to see that person’s messages at all.
On one thought tho, having both Auto-block on report and hiding the blocked persons messages would work in tandem…

Updating his abilities to be more punishing stack ups and have more powerful healing phases…
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
Other problem being that the old mobs so far are “zerker feed”. And the rank up system on scale up, increases HP and DMG greatly, and grant Unshakable on Champs, those stats being anti- Conditions, CC and Support. And more favoring the use of Berserker gear.
The new S2 living story mobs, Mordrem, have quite well undone it. Berserker is not best possible to use against them, since they deplete your health very quickly, if you’re not supported by CC and Support…
I hope ANet would also update the old mobs, Group content that is, to have such variety.

Since the Season 2 living story introducing mobs that would slaughter simple, reckless, full berserker builds, with Area Denial, AoE Conditions, high powered AoE Retaliation, AoE damage, High armor and AoE heal, that encourages players to use more CC, Support and conditions.
Well, I hope the old content gets updated to have more varied mobs, than just “Zerker feed”.
Core of the suggestion is word “group”. You’ll understand what it means…
- Affects only content that has word “Group” on it’s description. Solo will be unaffected. Since word “Group” means cooperation, which goes over the “Play how you like” philosophy, since “Play how you like” means uncooperation.
- Dungeons, Group Events and World bosses are updated to spawn variety, than just same mobs with higher rank, which means x10 DMG, x10 HP and unshakable (Which are features against conditions, healers and CC, but supports full berserker…).
- Ranks rarely add additional skills to mobs, which is a good feature itself tho. No need to change much about this.
- Scale up system, would work accordingly to spawn variety, less higher ranks.
OR - Scale up system is reworked, and Rank effects instead would vary depending on mob. If NPC is Heavy armor, it would increase ARMOR and vice-versa.

no they won’t change PS, as it’s instanced and set before LS1&2.
Also, new players are able to play LS2 (not L1 at the moment, maybe never).
They can’t play it and possible not LS2 either, instead they (new players after the expansion) would play a bit different Personal Story that then goes into shortened version of awakening of Mordremoth (S1 and S2), after defeating Zhaitan…

Well, I should have added that this is a speculation topic that I wrote out of whim…
If the next chapter removes the ascalonian ghosts, it’s possible that more will happen that changes the whole state of world…
Is it possible that ANet’s gonna “remove” (I guess old characters still have the old story book) the old personal story and add new version of it instead, which would ignore living story S1 and S2, but then would retcon to Mordremoth’s rise…
Possible that next expansion would change the personal story for new characters after that point…
That they do this, since newer players wouldn’t be able to play the living story S1 and S2?

Gets caught on everything, and doesn’t seem to have any cutting potential what so ever.http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/4/4f/Godskull_Edge.jpg
You know, I can understand turning the lower jaw of a creature into some improv weapon, that’s fine. But why the bands around the edge? Wouldn’t the blade cut through those bands the very next time you use the sword?http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/2/27/Steamblade.jpg
The Steamblade would also instantly get caught on any piece of armor, or shield, or weapon, and you’d easily be disarmed. Not to mention the grotesque weight ratio. The blade is far too wide to be useful for sword fighting, and the hilt is far too short.
Tribal sword, more like an impractical axe instead, since it uses the maya-aztek theme as base. Works only against bare skin, any armor would get stuck or even shatter the wooden contraption…
Godskull Edge, well, you can expect that from the Grawl, they die every day and are easily tricked to worship anything. Possible that their breeding rate is year long and their kids grow to adults withint 2 months or less.
Steamblade, That’s supposed to have “chainsaw” effect on the teeth, but that effect doesn’t work on most of the steam weapons, only the Steam Dagger has animated teeth movement…
Don’t forget Legionnaire set…
Legionnaire Sword
grip and blade are quite off for weight advantages, pommel has inward pointed spike that digs into your hand.
Legionnaire Greatsword
Attempt of Buster Sword, the grip is elliptic shape tho.
But then again, we have problem of races, like Charr, Norn and Asura.
Charr physiology and othervise biological structure is not quite expanded.
Norn on other hand are huge and sturdy, obviously.
Asura again would install what ever gizmos to their gear to improve their combat effectiviness.
Then there’s this: Even if you’re capable of lifting it and swinging it, can it be effective in real combat? It’ll require it’s own combat stance and forms (you might be able to wield and swing it, but can you really hit the foe, before he/she hits you), then taking physical limitations too, like how long can you swing the sword.

How many hours is that accross all characters over those 695 days when you type /age?
I’m going to guess your AP is pretty reasonable, and towards the high end of what I’d call the average range of time played vs AP accumulated.

3,240 hours played.

lol what a load of crock.
Is it so bad that some players want to do speed runs and clear dungeons as quickly as possible? Am I and OP a jerk for only wanting experienced players?
Not everyone wants to be a leader. Heck, not everyone has the capability or patience to be a leader. And that’s not a bad thing. If everyone was a leader, then what separates you from everyone else? Nothing.
But hey, I guess since I don’t want new players in my explicitly named “experienced players only” dungeon group, I’m a bad person.
Well, Rauderi covered it all.
Not to mention that some use bots and hacks to speed up their point gain, on the stuff they’re less likely to be caught…
Me for example, I’ve got 8k AP:
- I just recently started trying Fractals and dungeons.
- I haven’t done sPvP properly, just once tried it, which was very short.
- I did little WvW. But only when we had a proper Commander and organizing…
- Started doing World bosses after Feature Pack and Megaservers.
- I don’t own Ascended or Legendary gear at all. I keep despising ascended gear, as they weren’t supposed to exist in the first place.
- I got 8 characters, 1 of each profession. Most of the gear on them are still just Rare, few already have full Exotic.
- I haven’t done achievements for the points, I just did the ones that gave me rewards.
- I have crafted a single Ascended weapon for a skin, got a ascended gear box and 2 random trinkets as drop while doing stuff on open-PvE, after Megaservers. I just sold these items to merchant for 1 gold each.
- I’m a quick-learner, so it won’t take long for me to know the methods.

No, it measures how seriously you take achievement points.

This button already exists. When you first press the create button, there is a button at the bottom-right called “skip to end” (you have to hover over that corner first). This makes everything randomized except for the name, which you choose at the end.
It’ll randomize your race, gender, profession and background only.
It doesn’t randomize your appearance at all.
It’ll be stock appearance. As in the appearance you get when you choose a profession. This initial appearance is always same on each race and profession.
Some might even mistake you for a botter, since there are quite many bot users just using the skip function.
But yeah, perhaps they should make randomizer to affect appearance too.

The rewards are crap, only worth the effort if you plan to sell the path or burn through it in 3-15 minutes. Having to kill all the trash elites means an increase in time spent which would require an increase in the end reward.
“Zerker” is not and has never been a problem. Unless you’re going to give mobs 1200 range unblockable unblindable unreflectable undodgable aoe damage fields Berserker gear will always be best.
- Update the content of dungeons, the “zerker feed” and “higher rank zerker feed” are just not the proper content for group cooperation requiring effort. More variety, less ranks.
You’ve missed the point.
Should I crack a joke?

(edited by FrostSpectre.4198)
My suggestion, propably already suggested by other people.
- Full completition of the path, so that you can’t get the full reward if you skip pieces of the dungeon path.
- Full reward should propably be divided into smaller ones, the smaller ones together would make about 4/10 of the full reward, the rest 6/10 would be given on full completition.
- Update the content of dungeons, the “zerker feed” and “higher rank zerker feed” are just not the proper content for group cooperation requiring effort. More variety, less ranks.
Of course this does have it’s share of problems:
- Doesn’t encourage players to join half-way through dungeon instances.
-But then again it would remove the foul play of kicking random members, just to help a friend to skip into the last boss battle. This would also kill dungeon runners. - Violates the idea of “play how you want”, but that would work better for easy events and solo.
-But anything with word “group” on the tag, should always require cooperation, too easy content can also contribute into boredom. There’s also the problem that some cannot do the same as others can.
Should also note that there are individuals, so there is never a 100% similar persons among people.
Edited to have more notable stuff, since people are not reading the whole post…

Well, the AP is used by the “Elite”, who are really “Elitist A holes”, not even close to being real elite.
As they are I think it’s ok, but as you pointed out, you can’t attain the APs since you with your play style.
This also points out how idiotic decision it is by the community’s Elitist A Holes to use AP as skill indicator.
Dungeons, ANet just has to update the content with mobs and stuff that are impossible to skip or win with only berserker gear.
So for ANet:
- Make completition require all dungeon events to be done, no skipping allowed. (Kill the solo runners)
- Re-design the content of the dungeons, so that it’s impossible to win with only Berserker gear. (Even if this violates the “play how you want”, but group event content should always require cooperation)

Every class has their play style.
Heavy
- Warrior for high survivability and dps mixed together, very effective in melee combat. Can die quick when their defenses drop.
- Guardian for better support play style with alot of boons. Low health and limited condition removal options makes them vulnerable against attrition combat.
Medium
- Ranger for variety of combat styles, and even highly mobile support. Jack of all trades and part dps reliant on pet, most skills also more selfish.
- Engineer for jack of all trades, alot of options, also possess a good condition burst. Doesn’t possess strong skills, some skills are also unpredictable.
- Thief for fast, stealth and high single target DPS. Low health and medium defenses limits them to hit and run style gameplay only.
Light
- Elementalist for jack of all trades and alot of AoE potential. Low health and defense leaves them mostly glass cannons.
- Necromancer for attrition style combat, conditions and boon/condition manipulation skills. Doesn’t possess good spike options, only attrition style most viable.
- Mesmer for deception, manipulation and with support options. Should their illusions fail to deceive foes, becomes easy prey.

Now there are always those people who say “well the LS is free” but you have to take into consideration that the original Guild Wars didn’t have many micro transactions (Gem Store). So the player base should be supporting the content by Micro Transactions instead of the price of an expansion.
In conclusion all the criticism comes from the standards of an expansion. My opinion is the content we get in 6 month is not as good as an expansion but who know there have been rumors of a 2015 expansion and if this is true Anet you nailed it. If I get content every 2 weeks and a paid expansion every two years that would be a great business model.
Gem Store profits NCsoft. NCsoft gives budgets to ANet for GW2.
NCsoft then decides if it wants to make expansion for, with profits from everything they literally own.

If you have the bluebrint for the Blades back piece there’s a quote there from Scarlet saying: “Caithe, someday you’ll see, Tyria needs me. -Scarlet”
They encountered one another before and had a discussion to some extent or other and clearly Scarlet was doing more than just trying to disrupt the Ley Lines. It can be deduced that Scarlet was trying to prove something.
My thoughts are that she uncovered the secrets the Pale Tree was hiding and as always, she encountered skeptics. Caithe being one who believed the Pale Tree, likely doubted what Scarlet had to say and so Scarlet looked elsewhere for aid which lead her into contracting the forces she acquired through her journeys.
If you played the Sylvari story with background being “Where life goes”.
Caithe brought out her fear that if the Nightmare Court figured out about that Pale Tree wasn’t the only tree, and that the other tree’s don’t have the Dream of Pale Tree. The Nightmare Court would then proceed to destroy the Pale Tree and move on to the “unprotected” trees…
Malyck, who then agreed on not allowing the Nightmare Court to know about it and went to his way back to his own tree.

This would make sense since we also originally had 7 human gods!!!
Dwayna, god of healing and air. = Tyria.
Dhuum, god of death. = Zhaitan.
Grenth, god of ice = Jormag.
Lyssa, god of illusions = Kralkatorik.
Balthazar, god of war and fire. = Primodus.
Melandru, god of nature = Mordremoth.
Abbadon, god of water (aka. komir). = Bubbles (aka. deep sea dragon)We intend to forget about Dhuum the god of death, though he is also a god in tyria, he is just not as famous as the other gods since the humans did not pray to him.
Also dwayna is mother to grenth, she is proberly one of the oldest gods therefore she is tyria.
Problem is that Dhuum was de-throned by Grenth, so he has no place amongst the 6 human gods…
