Why do I feel as if the Ranger community is going to regret this. Pets were good already just needed minor pathing/ai fixes. An increased stat across the board will make them over the top, couple that with a few builds that 30 BM like mine does, trait felines for crit on regular hits and all of a sudden pets are wrecking players. Mark my words, it won’t be good.

With food and melandru = 25 + 40 + 33 = 98% reduction on all movement conditions!!!
My Thoughts exactly, Already running this, gonna be that much better! And mm 5 boons = 15% extra dmg, Hello Eviscerate devastation witht he unblockable attacks from signet!
Frenzy will now have it’s duration increased and negative effects decreased, same goes for Haste/Qz etc
It has 3k power ad I’ve seen it in action, it works, and it works very well, Kalo is wicked with the double bow.

Yeah that was Furajir/Stas ina night of drunkeness on vent while grouping he said something, and I took his name out of spite, just the account name. My other toons were Elmoez etc SB/Skald/Paladin all LE’s
Confusion is taking a huge nerf in wvwv soon enough. People are stacking 8 stacks for 5k dmg per skill and it’s op. Anet has addressed it

Mishmash Hybrid of Cleric/PTV final “stats” end up 3K Armor 2K toughness 20K hits 1K Healing (3 passive regens) and 2K Power/3K attack, steady white damage…burst comes from pet and I have NO Crit/rate or Damage
Spec is 0-0-30-10-30 with focus on Protection/Barkskin/Regen/Vigor
Sigils of Energy or Hydromancy and Dwayna Runes

Hes posted quite a few double bow vids, with and without healing, An old daoc friend who got me into GW2 and making a ranger.
I disagree, superior is a loose term, I know quite a few friends that play bow rnagers that run a mix of cleric/knight, have over 1k healing etc and they do fantasticaly. I think people are thinking this is the “One build to rule them all”. I beg to differ, even though I do run something similair. Sarlack/Kalorian happens to be one of those guys.

Dude, thats what bothered me about daoc, each class only had like 1-2 builds that were actually decent, and if you didn’t run them, you were dead in the water. There was no real variation
I was enjoying it testing diff variations of builds, but as Kalo said I’m enjoying a more synergistic style of play with my apothecary/bm/regen build, having lots of fun with it, do i miss my GS from time to time? Deffinitely. But I have both suits ready to roll in case I feel like changing it up.
It has been like 6 years haha.

•+5% damage when you have a boon
•-65% condition duration on you thanks to runes and food
•-25% stun duration on you
Conditions are going to slide off you. You’re very tanky. You’re very mobile. And you hit reliably hard without depending on the RNG garbage that is crit chance. Couple this with the innate evasion the greatsword auto-attack chain has and you have one serious beast of a Ranger … and he has a pet.
I ran this for awhile and had really great success, I used Gs and Sw/Dagger or Sw/wh
Could literally stand in necro wells, eat thief burst, parlay with trap rangers, and take 1v2’s and up to 3 no problem, you dont have much in the way of regen, you aren’t exactly bunker and you have next to no crit/crit damage but kitten you hit hard and you can take a serious beating.
I also put the 10 points in marksmanship and put it into BM

Blackbird, whats your build with the apothecary? Either your’e putting too much into heal and not enough condi dur/dmg or vice versa.
No..What hes saying is that you just deactivated the auto-attack so it doesnt root during the chaina nd you can evade, you just have to continuously hit the #1 attack..
Might want to provide a link to your actual build, with an explanation of gear, sigils, runes, food, whatever.

People will always be close minded, sure you may be “tanky” in this sort of set-up, which is what I run currently, but you also have pet burst dps, a jaguar or birds burst can be huge, and it adds great sustained damage on top of you being to outlast your opponent, especially with SoW and jag f2 uses. Learn to manage your pet and add to your already monstrous power/attack.

This is my bud that theorycrafts with me on the builds, he gave me the one I use.
Surprised noone has mentioned sword/dagger combination. Love it myself.
Not basing anything, it’s an idea. Obviously it’s a different MMO. Even with 30BM the pets fall quickly even in 1v1’s 1v2’s etc.
IMO pets should share a certain % of the players attributes, many other mmos have done this with pet classes and it’s not OP or imbalanced.
0/20(I/X)/30(III/IX/XII or XI)/10(VI)/10(VI) Spec. All 12 Slots (except weapon) P/T/V including jewelry, Runes of the Ranger in Armor and Exquisite Ruby Jewels in all trinket slots. Zerker Weapons with Sigil of Flame.
For the 30 WS traits if I run Signet of the Wild I have the 30 Empathic Bond spec’d, If I run Signet of Renewal I run Barkskin.

I agree with the OP. I’ve been a power build forever, PTV everything, but zerk weps, just bc I am too lazy to get dungeon weps atm. I’m 0/0/30/30/10 with QZ/LR/SOTH and roa. I use gs and sw/wh, can’t beat it.
Iv’e run this exact spec/nourishment combo for the past 4-5 months, except I am double bow, and use heal as one, since I’m not using sword for the spring.
I use a mix of cavaliers/soldier/knight and zerk. With food bufs I have just under 20k health, 45% crit, 75% crit dmg, 3000 armor and just above 3k attack.

I’ve been sw/wh and GS for awhile, was just lucky to have gotten some love last patch, never have been a fan of the glassy-esque ranger specs. I’m actually built around being bunker PTV armor/cavalier accessories with zerk weps/jewels and built around defense but my damage is far from subpar. I use the same spec in wvw and spvp. But o course it’s more effective in wvwvw given nourishments that make up for the lack of crit/crit dmg in spvp. Even built around defense I have close to 3300 attk. I think most rangers, as stated above, delve too much into trying glass cannon builds with bows etc and really miss out on the utility that other weapon combos bring.
It’s the same with ranged pets, someone literally has to be standing still, which is like, oh, ya know? Never.
Wolfborn is pretty ranger-ish
any suggestions? I really love soloing but i feel my dmg is sub par, i dont want to be utter glass but..
I think you would be better off with signet of malice, and the gain health when using a skill that uses initiative trait, can;t remeber name off top of my head, so you heal yourself 3x with each evade on DB along with bleeding. /cheers
