Yes but now, even with offhand training, and without it, in the mist and regular, the evade time still says 1/2s

I just tried this after the update, now even with off-hand training and no off-hand training, the evade is 1/2s.

Dagger 4 is either bugged or was stealth nerfed.
Okay i just did a quick test in the mists against my friends mesmer, he summoned 3 Phantasmal Duelist (Pistol one) and then i recorded how long the Evade Lasted under fraps then viewed it frame by frame.
Without Offhand Training
Evade lasts 1 1/4 seconds.
With Offhand Training
Evade lasts 1/2 second.
Basically, you get nothing but a lessened evade time with Off-hand training, which gives longer ranger on offhand weps and 20% CD.
Yup, this is kittening dumb, I knew something was off, nothing was documented as far as a change to the skill so I didn’t even look at the evade. Wow.

Running Offhand-training in both venues, I want to know why they are different, and which one is supposed to be correct.
Obviously the spvp version is far superior as it mimics a thief larcenous strike, and quickly advances you toward a target.
Noone is complaing kid, learn to read, been playing a BM ranger since nov-dec, I just never really spvp, I’m R32 but I only played Mesmer/war.
I just happened to be in there testing something yesterday and noticed the animations are different than in non-spvp venues, which is what my question was about, why are they different.

The spvp version is literally almost like larcenous strike and drive me towards a target very quickly, my wvwv counterpart (which I play exclusively) does not.
Ya, but the fact remains, the spvp version here covers more distance, I don’t see why they can’t be the same, the second part off the spin literally lunges at your target.

Its a shame Dag#4 isnt more like the theif’s S/D#3.
They are the same animation and essentially the same attack, only the thieves verson will move you much further forward to strike your target if needs be, we’re talking like 300-400 range forward
That’s what I’m saying, my dagger 4 has a thief like sword Animation that resembles larcenous strike, I’l literally spinning around and moving several units towards my target, I don’t have to be close to them at all. when I hit it, all of a sudden I’m advancing very far towards my target, not just spinning around. Been playing Ranger since Nov, It’s different.

but IMO Axe+dagger canot be good option for me due to some grafikal issues (precisely when I throw any weapon for a phew seconds both weapons and back item dissapears, yeah that thing is irritating enough to make change in fight)

Anyways It’s pointless to run sword/dagger and axe/torch imo because it forces you into 1 defensive wep set and 1 offensive wep set and forces you to have a tougher time being bottlenecked into making decisions that will kitten you over in a fight.
Perfect example I was using sword/torch vs an ele and it was going fine until 2 more people came up behind me and I had to pop my heal instantly and couldn’t, serpents was on cd since I just used it to avoid burst, swapped to axe/dagger and managed an evade+dodge just in time to get my heal off as the ele was going for a knockdown. Had I not had defensive measure on both weapon sets, I would have died and not been abale to take out said baddies. Given that single evade on dagger and gave me an evade into some protection on top of bark skin I was able to make my 900ish hp into over 10k.

Weakness doesn’t affect criticals………yet.
Easy, tons of evades. Both wep sets give you numerous evades that can be chained together, sometimes, I can go an entire fight vs a melee class and not get hit. Better than sword/dager imo because it forces one weapon set into a non-defensive position.
Aaaaaaaand Axe = pretty much perma weakness, glancing hits? Yes please, couple it with protection and it’s gg.
Well the ranger was a tad upset that I beat him in a duel few minutes prior flawlessly, guess he was upset. Still upset I didn’t get to finish them off w/o help =(
Had to speed up the video, was almost a 15 minute fight. Anyways just me vs Ranger/Engineer. Ranger disengages and swoops to safety at least 3-4 times, meanwhile the ranger got rallied off mobs (which I kittening hate and I think they should do away with) Anyways, For all my efforts my fellow team members ruined my fun..
I’ve never played Mesmer, but currently making one, I’d like to go tanky phantasm with staff, and possibly either sw/focus or sword/pistol as offhand, I don’t plan on shattering often, if only for distortion.
Any thoughts on how to build one?
I plan on being pure solo roamer wvw, I like to be high sustain and tanky was thinking knights armor but no idea as far as trinkets/backpiece/weps/runes etc.

I run Masters Bond in WvW so can’t go wrong with Jaguar, 25 stacks is GG, as an alternate I usually run Snow Leopard for chill stacking with Winter’s Bite, can really kitten somebody over. Just depends on if you want pure, unadulterated damage for an F2 or a really nice utility, if you can land it.

I run a build very similair to this, except I run 10 in arms for Unsuspecting Foe instead of berserkers power.
Mix of knights armor w/ lyssa runes and cavalier/berserker trinkets/weps. I do a lot better with this than I did with Melandru/doged march/and lemongrass.
Warrs can be CC and high tough all day, but we need the dps, and this build can produce it, as well as wh#4 for curing cripple/chill/immob and stacking weakness.
I am a solo roamer and I’ve run this for a long time, I absolutely love it, it give sme the dmg, cc, self support and disengage options I need.
Plus lets face it, unless you’re zerg surfing the warr isn’t going to be able to take more than 1-2 good players at a time, so might as well bring the damage and leave the sustain at home.

If the Thief is worth their salt, you won’t win. They can reset as many times as they please until you either disengage and try to run, or get wittled down.
Why isn’t this kid part of the Dev team?
Endure pain needs to be all inclusive, ALL damage, and 30-40s cd kkthx
Yeah, I just run into all power builds. I face the very rare roaming necro and engineer w/o problems, or an occasional trap ranger.

-I personally would love to see Missile Deflection/Mighty Defense be rolled into one trait under Shield mastery. Gaining might while blocking and deflecting missiles just sounds like a few extra perks that wouldn’t be too OP.
-Unsuspecting foe affect all manner of CC, not just stunned enemies, maybe lower the crit chance to 30% or some alternate affect.
-Number increase or extra perk on Dogged March
- Better CC timers, Leg Specialist, is a 1s immob, even with 30 in Strength which makes it a whopping 1.3s it’s petty and useless, especially when people on most servers run some sort of CC/Condi dampening food. Increase duration+ add some other condi affect, like weakness, chilled, crippled, etc.
It really just depends, if you want a good example i fight a pure conditions necro in my latest video, I believe i was running empathetic bond or sig of renewal and bark skin, but either way it seems to do the trick at clearing, and I pretty much stand in the wells. Most of the conditions I’ve ever faced were normally negated by the regen/hp/s.
100’s is a big deal bud, I run corruption stacks over my healing stacks with 1420-1520 base hp depending on what I decide to run, and I can tell a huge difference just missing that few hundred healing power, I mean it’s literally affecting every sngle thing thats healing you, that all adds up to tremendous amounts of hp over time.

I run it so I have evades on both sets.
Unsuspecting fore should work on all CC not just stun, maybe reduce the amount of critical chance to 30+%
Put faster weap swap as a minor trait elsewhere.
Bump up numbers on Dogged March ( went in right direction imo)
Give more burst perks so building momentum is useful
1s immob on leg spec is decent, but with everyone having some sort of reduc on condis, this is laughable and petty, even in 300 in Strenght thats 30% increase for a whopping 1.3s immob wooooopedeedoo
More condition management
Better heals (Healing Surge makes you not want to waste a burst. just to use and re-burst, derp)
Numerous bug fixes
Make traits worthwhile
Give hammer more perks
Could go on and on, but warriors should be steamrollers, everyone looks at most warriors and laugh, they are too easy to lock down and /laugh at.
