Two guilds: KH (about 30 dedicated WvW players) and LW (not sure their exact size, but they were definitely smaller than KH when we were all on CD. All the rest of the CD guilds went mostly to Kaineng and Blackgate I believe.

KH was recruited by TC to try and replace a couple of guilds that transferred off TC the week before.

This is wrong in a lot of ways. The only guilds TC has recieved in the last four months are:
[DIS]: ~30 people transferred from CD 4 months ago
[FIST]: ~30 people transferred from IoJ when IoJ died
[KH]: ~150 people transferred from CD when CD died
[CYN]: ~100 people transferred from CD when CD died
for a total of 310 people, that’s not even enough to even fill a single guild. I imagine DB/MAG got more transfers when transfers got locked down than TC ever did.

There has only been two guilds that have transfered off TC to my knowledge
[MF]: ~20 transferred to YB because they wanted more casual WvW about 2.5 months ago
[BLNT]: ~20 transferred to KA when they stomped t3 (I believe they thought KA would be t1 material)

TC has not received any large guilds EVER. All transfers have been small groups of 10- who came for our community and tenacity. We’ve earned our place in T2 and we are about as strong as KA even though we have fewer numbers and worse coverage. I understand from t3’s point of view we have a massive population but when it comes to t2, we are vastly outnumbered. BG and TC had about the same ratio of population as TC and DB does in this their.

TC would probably have accepted us with open arms and with boxes of cookies, but FA promised prison style back rubs and rough hand massages. The choice was clear.

They do need to do something with the WvW reward structure. There is really no reward at all for most after they finish the 500 badges for a legendary.

Honestly, they really haven’t done squat for WvW since launch.

These changes sounds great as a starting point. I can’t wait to see the future additions to WvW

They didn’t mention in that post, but the new wvw xp will only be gained after they release the patch. Anything completed before then will not count towards the new system.

Kinda sucks for those of us who have put in a lot of time to this point, but at least it is a change that will hopefully add more enjoyment for everybody in wvw.

Now that the weekdays have rolled out… maybe you’ll start to notice the population declines… especially during the morning hours.

The lot of half empty servers of “wvwvw” players, not players in total will start to lose interest without the proper player balance.

Until there are only a few servers concentrated into the top tier of remaining servers oblivious to their surroundings.

Claiming their thrones out of default instead of balance and challenge.

This is the doom of every MMO with poor management and planning.

The END GAME is scattered, bugged with culling and unrewarding for #1.

Hate to sound like a troll, but the players and devs seem to be blissfully ignorant.

Perhaps the writing on the wall is bigger for you than other players.

DB BL last night around midnight (MST) was fantastic.

So much back and forth on the east side of the map, and some really strong group play! If PRO didn’t show up at the last second to save our bacon, hills and our main tower would have been lost for sure.

I was also in Yaks BL earlier in the evening for some smaller scale battles, and was quite surprised by the Yak group that defended the north supply camp against BT. You guys put up a hell of a fight and eventually pushed us out of the camp

Some really strong feints with portal bombs and invis. from you guys up there.

I don’t expect to see Yaks bend again for a little while, but I will miss you guys.

Speaking from experience in the server changing department, my move from IOJ to FA has been a very positive one. FA was a very pleasant group to team up with and with added support during our off times, I really think we could be a solid tier 2 contender.

We will continue to bounce between T2 and T3 unless we gather more support in our weak time slots. If players on any server are willing to move over in order to fill that void, i would accept them with open arms.

To DB:
I have greatly enjoyed our fights together over the last few weeks and I’m positive we will be meeting again. Much respect to you all.

This week is an essentially a mirror of the last month against DB and MAG, the only difference is that Yaks has a smaller population than MAG.

Without MAG being in this tier, I think its a lot tougher for DB to hold off FA and keep us from getting points.

I captured video of some weekend action, so hopefully i can get that posted on youtube within the week.

This match up is starting to be decided before we even start playing. Friday night is very even. Saturday tilts in FA favor. Monday’s positions mirror Friday’s positions.

I have really enjoyed this battle vs Mag and DB. Both servers have really good players and guilds.

It feels like FA is pretty solid in tier 3, but we are not quite tier 2 yet. Maybe in the future as we attract more players for our off peak hours.

Maguuma i know you guys will have some fun this week.

It all depends on the experience you help create in WvW. A couple days ago I was running around with my guild and came across a group that was approximately 2-3 times our size. (I think we had 5 people and they were between 10-15)

We noticed that they were flipping camps, so we decided to stop them when they reached the north camp. We ported back to our main keep and ran north to get there before they did. Upon arriving we threw down a couple ballista close to the choke point at the East gate.

For the next 3-5 minutes we held them there until they gathered enough courage to storm our siege equipment. We retreated to the camp and created another line of siege (2 ballista and 2 arrow carts). With the combination of the camp NPCs, our siege and a few bodies that came to help, we managed to rout the invaders and send them running down the east road.

These are things that keep me coming back to WvW each and every week. It’s always better with a group and WvW lasts longer than a round of sPVP. I’m also a huge fan of ancient sieges and old school battle tactics.

I also get to meet really fantastic players from other servers who will duel and even have a good chat with you.

The Running Man:

Traits 0-0-30-30-10
Defense – 2, 5, 9 (these are only suggestions and can certainly be changed)
Tactics – 1, 8, 12
Discipline – 6

My armor suit is a mix of any armor type that has Power Toughness Vitality (Arcon, Armageddon, Aurora, Invaders, Mortal)

Rune set – Centaur (my main focus is speed in WvW since i do a lot of scouting and chasing down people fleeing)

GS Sigil – Superior Battle
Sword Sigil – Superior Blood
Shield Sigil – Superior Intelligence

My accessories have Power, Precision and Toughness

My build is not meant to melt face or dominate everything that I come across. My goal is to push in to enemy lines and distract them. In doing so I eat boat loads of damage and hopefully force the enemy to use cooldowns early in a fight. This allows my group to deal damage and kill targets. I live in a state of constant engage and retreat.

I find that the Great sword ability Rush hits only 50% of the time. This should be much closer to 100% unless the enemy dodges or blocks it.
My character will run past the target and not hit it (usually due to short range attack). The other problem at short range is that you will run for a long time before actually swinging your sword, which wastes valuable time in the fight. As soon as you reach the target, your sword swing should activate and hit.

The sword leap ability does not work with elevation changes. Even on a slight slope, it can completely miss. This skill should also hit more reliably.

Where do you spend most of your game time?
WVW, sPVP, PVE, Dungeons?

I have posted a number of Warrior videos, but I’m not specced for facemelt.

I don’t believe a warrior is the best 1v1 class in the game and I wouldn’t spec mine towards that goal in WvW.

WvW is all about group gameplay and group buffs.

My build focuses on Power/Toughness/Vitality and keeping the speed buff up all the time by way of my Centaur runes. I tend to be a distraction in order to protect my squishy allies who do the real damage.

From lvl 20-80 i spent a TON of my time in WVW, but i mixed in some main quest line and some map completions in PVE.

Repair as much as you can when you are a lowbie because it provide good xp. You can also level a lot by following a zerg while capping points.

Fast hands only is broken on the very first swap after you turn it on our load a map. After that it works. Fixing that first time bug is extraordinarily difficult, but we think it is worth it to keep the trait.

Its all about baby steps guys.

ArenaNet will start with this 7 day transfer patch, and monitor the results. If they feel that it has been ineffective in preventing the transfer exploits, they will make another minor change to make it more difficult for people to exploit it. The perfect solution may come from a series of changes that will happen over months, NOT overnight.

As you stated in your opening post, the orbs provided the winning team with an advantage that was hard to overcome. I like to fight people on even footing. I think the removal of the orb is a great first step to a well balance WvW system.

(PS all this QQ my orbs are gone is hilarious. Blame it on the hackers/exploiters, they took away your candy guys)

Here is a bit of gameplay from the Garrison defense on Oct 29th evening. It was super intense and lasted for hours. I managed to capture 20 minutes of gameplay and will post part 2 this evening. Please keep in mind that I’m wearing non-exotics and my armor suit is all greens (will upgrade over time). I also do NOT run a dps build so don’t expect 1 second frenzy melts.

Here is a recent WVW battle in the IOJ Borderlands Garrison defending against SOS. Part 1 is up and part 2 will be up this evening.

Running a tanky build with the main focus being front line pushing and chasing down runners.

I’d like to start a thread that will eventually get stickied by Anet which shows your Warrior in action!

Please post videos you have created and include a brief description of type of gameplay (spvp, wvw, pve) and a small summary of your build type (tanky, glass cannon, pure dps, etc).

No point in making amazing videos if nobody is going to see them in the Warrior thread!

Last night at the IOJ Borderlands Garrison was pretty unreal. Thanks to the commanders for keeping their cool and doing what needed to be done. It was sheer chaos at times with SOS breaking down gates all over the place and storming the lords room over and over. It was a small victory and we ended up losing the rest of the map because of it, BUT it was pretty kitten fun to bash heads for so many hours straight. I recorded about 30 minutes of video which i will hopefully be putting up on youtube this week.

Even though the scores are crazy lopsided and we are down 3 orbs in stats, we put on a pretty good show for everybody. I can’t wait for next weeks matchup

Quitting the game is silly, especially if you can find enjoyment on a higher population server.

I myself got fed up with things and switched servers last night and I will transfer again if I have to.

Hopefully we will get more people joining the game and we can fill the lower tier servers, but at this point, high pop servers are the place to be.
