“Would do more WvW if the repair bill was reduced here. Even lowering it by 50% etc would help.
Like someone mentioned above, another method of paying for repairs would be good in WvW."
Actually, just lowering the cost to that of a blue item of the same level would basically fix the issue.
I originally noticed my armour cost me about 1 silver per damaged piece when I was a mix of greens and blues.
I noticed that went to the high twos/low threes for silver per piece when I got all yellows.
I finished my exotic set and wow. 6+ silver a piece is kitten Lowering a full damage from 72 silver (!) to the more normal 12 silver would help a lot. Granted they did start dropping way better cash from mobs now.
It’s actually an assassin skin from GW1.
The female one IIRC is a lot better, it’s the better necro armour from phrophecies.
“I too was surprised that one would get a repair bill from PvPing. Nobody gets survivor title doing PvP, and nobody should. You’re supposed to die multiple horrible deaths. You’re not supposed to go into virtual poverty to play WvW.”
I got monthly survivor doing WvW once = P
That said, the repair bill needs to go. 6 silver A PIECE on an exotic set is insane.
GW2 already has a split PvE/PvP skill system.
Don’t believe me? Take a look at signet of rage.
46 seconds of 60 in PvE, 30 of 60 in PvP.
All I hear is “I DON’T UNDERSTAND THE GAME WAAN WAAN MAKE IT LIKE THE REST”.
The system works. Stop going all DPS and start doubling up – you characthers should all be control/support, control/DPS, or support/DPS.
I like small hammers and large great swords.
It tells me what warriors to kick out.
I’m just curious if anyone else noticed crafting armour is different then PvP armour – valkyrie’s is healing (light), power (heavy), crit D (heavy) and thoughness (medium), while in PvE it’s power, crit d and vitality.
Knights is the same, but for different stats. I posted this here since I am curious if anyone here knows why the discrepency.
I think it’s because of how nice the mamaries are for most of the races.
Personal thought.
I buy steel, ori and mithril. It’s the best cost to use ratio for bag slots IMO, with copper being too annoying to switch between.
Would be nice and prevent me from accidentally dropping to collectible my pet every 5 minutes and thusly never carrying him with me.
Lelouch. The issue is the people that crafted hundreds of these with a 65% chance using level 65-75 exotics as an early on exploit until ANet closed said exploit and nerfed the rate to around 12% from 33%.
Also the people that speed ran 30+g daily from exploited SCs of CoF.
That combined made it so that 200+g is considered “ok” for these things – I doubt they’d be worth more then 50-80g if the exploiters didn’t rake in the profits and bought up the entire lineup of weaponry.
I would prefer if the gems affect your story by having a tidbit like “And then one day, I discovered I just had to be a woman! So I prayed to Lyssa and whadda ya know? kitten ”
I want to play a transgendered charr norn worshipper of grenth now. ANet, don’t let me down!
The prices usually go down 10% or less (5 to 10% being the normal I see) for the last order as it enoucrages players to buy more gems rather then less. Take PerfectWorld : 50$ nets you an extra 5$ (10%) last time I bought Zen.
I was kinda weirded out that ANet did not do this, as I’d have had 110$ worth of Gems rather then 100, but oh well.
I’d play as a skritt. But honestly, I’d purposely hate on quaggan players since I hate these things so much.
The first time one went “QoooooOOOOOOo quaggan LIKE you!” I went “AHH AHH AHH KILL IT WITH FIRE!”
That’s because you program in a location where the textbox is predefined to already steal all/almost all inputs from all other interfaces.
I assume ANet built their own text boxes so they dictate what it counts as “taking it in”.
ANet hated euro pop enough to surcharge you?
It actually is really weird, has been since beta.
“Why should he, the second seller, get to put his item up at honestly the same price, and get it sold first? That is the question no one has yet to answer.”
Because the direct 2.5% change would completely kill price increases in anything other then massive bounds.
It would also be an unfair restriction to most people – overall, either there are not enough of it for it to matter or too many of an item that it would be hazardeous to implement a % increase minimum.
I noticed a lot of henchie armour is available to get as exotics in the game.
When I tried to find pictures of them though, it only led me to GW2Guru’s page on a generic armour type – ex: Rurik’s armour lead me to the pitfighter’s armour with a specific rune.
I really hope Rurik’s armour is not a named pitfighter’s armour. Can anyone link a picture of the armour, what you have or the full set if possible? I’d like to know if it’s worth getting it.
If you want to link any other henchie armour like devona’s, that’d be nice too. Thanks. (closest forum I can think of since this is a trade item)
This is why I seriously think that you should be able to craft siege equipment with any tier of material and not just gold or mark of honor. Would stimulate that (ever declining!) low tier materials.
“Not everyone will be able to experience every event, thats life- if you have a job/family/other hobbies you may miss out on some part of a video game. "
The difference between life and a video game is I can’t reload that bath I took this morning because I enjoyed it so much – I have to take a new one, and my kid might interupt me, or the water may go cold halfway through. It’ll probably be enjoyable, but it’s not scripted to only changed if I slip up and die.
Well with my idea, the fee is only applied on the sale cost unless you remove it. That would work well with you since you can tinker with the price after it’s up – you just can’t take it back out (the item is for all intent and purposes up @ 5% listing fee)
The reason for the fee is to prevent everyone from listing everything at 10g. No fee = a flood or extremely overpriced “It’ll sell someday” items. The problem right now is unexpected drops make the system work that way towards item you put in at a point and time when the item HAD that value.
If you could tinker with the price and received credit for the % of the fee you listed that was too high or a deduction for the % of the fee that was too low, the market would be changeable without the 100g for copper lol someone will buy it issue other games have.
Your point isn’t really that meritful though with what I suggested.
If it’s a high value/low quantity item you can just re 1-copper down at no problem to you.
If it’s a low value/high quantity item, either you massively overstated it’s price or it’ll sell shortly.
The best way to take care of this would be to let you change your listed price and get a refund on the sale total vs the lower price you put it – but to bill you for the highest if you take it out.
EX: I put in an item for 60s when it’s 59-60s, the item bombs to 20s. I can re-put my big at 19-21s, and if it sells, I pay the 5% on the sell price (.95s) – if I remove it, I pay it on the 60s (3s).
I have a few items I am NEVER taking out of the TP since I put them up when they were worth something, they bombed, and I’ll lose more money taking them out and selling them then just keeping them in and hoping they sell one day.
I’m 50/50 on this. It’s the same as the holiday events – WHY is winter’s day on christmas? Why do game developers think “Family or the game, PICK ONE!” One time events being unlisted is kind of weird – “Dragon super spawn – 5 AM on a work day! No one knows of it though.”
If one time events were to happen and reset from time to time (thusly not turning them into one time events. . . ) then at least more peopel would see them.
I remember BWEs. Thanks for ending all of those at 12AM+ on a workday, guaranteing I didn’t see them.
Reasons for a 1 handed weapon :
+3% magic find, since you can have two traveller’s weapons.
2 sigils instead of one.
Another benefit : I don’t kick out warriors wielding two one handed axes/maces/swords/mixed anywhere near as often as I do warriors with greatswords (the rate is 100% for GS and 0% for the rest. . . Much better IMO)

Early in the game’s development, it was said that every dungeon would be soloable. The rewards would scale with how many players were there so you could do it yourself and be rewarded alone or have much loot with many people.
That part seems to have died, unfortunately. Duo-solo dungeons would be a nice touch later on.
Fishing I miss this a lot! With such stunning graphics, I would really love to grab a rod and catch some big fishes… or boots, haha.
-No please dear god no. You have tridents, just make tuna drop fish meat.
Treasure hunting I loved chest hunting in GW1, but there are fewer chests in GW2 and they respawn in hours.
-There is treasure hunting in Dreadhaunt area IIRC. Also, the daily chests would fill your need if waypoints were free and low level chests were up leveled to your level. Would also make me do jumping puzzles more!
Farming A nice little farms in your home instance where you can crop stuff to sell for money would be interesting and would keep people coming back to GW2 daily just to check their farms, replant, give water, etc.
- Because everyone wouldn’t just farm vanilla beans?
“So maybe the solution is or a benefit for 100% world completion, 100% Story line could be free map travel… I’m just saying”
Too detrimental to casuals who are the people who are hit the hardest by this. Honestly, just get rid of the waypoint fees. Either everyone knows a way around it, or people do not use it. It’s frustrating, annoying and mostly stupid of a tax that prevent players having fun.
“Yes the wyvern/griffin flying got a little boring after awhile but I never got tired of the zepelins or gnome tram. The ships were always fun to run around on with friends”
You are one of the few then. Just about everyone I know of who’s played them complains of these every single time.
It’s fully random. This is ok as long as it’s consistently random (ex: You don’t get a 65 gold from CS, or a kitteny mystic GS while others get a precursor weapon). Put it on the trader, and buy the one you want.
“I hate this game’s instant travelling system, please make me wait instead because that is so much more fun!”
o.O
Can you add a light censor to character names that blocks certain words during creation?

In the beta, one of my friends couldn’t get “Anvil Headwind” since head was used in it and ANet saw that as “Oral Oralliton”. I’d rather it be light and get the account banned then heavy and restrict players.
Same. I usually end up looking for the stupid thing by moving it around visciously until I can notice it again.
There’s already a lot of GW1 skins (like the winged shield) available as exotics.
They have expansions to release, give them time and I’m sure I’ll get my GW2 tetsubo hammer.
“I think the success of things like Lord Of The Rings Online’s Wardrobe system is good evidence that if we could save appearances, people would buy MORE transmutation stones because getting all the armor skins would become a true collecting game, and people would want the option to save them. Plus, you could sell additional outfit slots for the “closet” itself.”
Seconded. I also think they should go the way of selling us faces and outfits rather the one time use outfits and one time use face changes. STO did it that way and I honestly think that was one of the better systems I played in reference to it.
“Take the base items for the Legendary weapons. It costs the player 5 gold to place it on sale and then a 28 gold tax on selling it. If I got one from the Mystic Forge, I wouldn’t even be able to put it up on sale.”
You have to remember that those items are exceddingly expensive due to a bunch of people capitalizing on the market, exploiting some bugs and getting a couple of thousand gold early on.
Our guild has around 15-20 active people – we gain around 1’000 to 3’000 influence a day, nearer 4 to 5 on the weekend. +5% on that is 50 per 1’000, so we usually come out ahead, especially on the weekend. Remember the +5% affects donations in. So if you active it and donate 5’000 influence worth of stuff into your guild at once, bonus 150 influence. (250 – 100 to rebuy the +5% influence bonus)
I don’t really see an issue – guilds are meant to be huge in size by design.
“LF1M 100%+ MF class for CoF”
“I’m DPS!”
“I SAID MF!”
Just kill it. Seriously.
“They have stated that it puts a strain on the server for each player each client renders.”
Clients are rended on the user end O.o What gave you the impression the server renders anything? The server plops down where you are, and sends all nearby information to you (in case you move quickly) – this is why you can note allies around you at all time. It would not do any added strain on the server to increase FoV. LoS in the sense of how far away you can see yes, but not LoS FoV.
"
What if magic find geared players buffed nearby allies around themselves with a fraction of the magic find that that player has? Obviously there would need to be a cap to prevent an overload of magic find, but it would it would make me feel more comfortable with magic find. For an example, maybe for every +5% of magic find a player has allies around the magic find person get a buff for +1% magic find, but the buff only stacks to 25."
So basically. You’d feel better if magic find went from buffing only you to buffing those around you, meaning that now everyone runs exclusively full magic find and kicks people without at least X magic find out since it prevents them from getting max magic find?
" Lucky – This would essentially be Magic Find.
Efficient – Would grant bonuses to gathering activities. You’d get more mats out of nodes.
Determined – An XP booster.
Professional – Would boost crafting XP.
Beloved – A Karma booster.
"
Because the solution to removing magic find is to add more grindy stuff to GW2?
“MF gear stacks power and precision. Trait yourself to stack toughness and vitality. Done.”
Or just stack more precision and power and kill them faster.
“If you can’t afford waypoints, you must not know how to make/manage money.”
It’s not a matter of weither or not I can afford the waypoint, but as to weither or not it limits the player’s fun since he finds an alternate way to get there.
And before you say “But I can GRIND the money back right after I zone!!!11!!!!oneoneone”, please remember I said it limits the fun and not it’s impossible to make it back. It also puts a barrier on people wanting to move (which is why Orr is so full while FGS is not)
“A better idea would be to remove the WP teleport cost.”
Seconded.
Then the bot will just be added to check if skill 1-5 have changed and look for “Yes” on the screen.
" If you haven’t gotten to a higher level or did WvW yet, just spamming isn’t going to get your anywhere. I don’t spam my skills, because if I did in the places I currently enjoy playing I’d be dead."
Thanks for calling me bad, I have multiple 80s and usually bring back top place in my sPvP matches.
Ele is spammy, especially scepter and staff (dagger needs more control). You’re constantly swapping attunments and using your skill on the enemy – letting up is usually a negative for the ele since your AoEs usually recharge in 5-6 seconds.
Warrior is spammy. If you aren’t constantly switching weapons and mashing on the enemy, you’re probably not playing it full well. Low cool down skills make you offensive, other then the rare usage of a 90~ second elite or utility.
Mesmer is somewhat spammy. If you aren’t constantly summoning and sacking your clones, there’s a chance you’re doing it wrong (there’s also a chance you’re lulling your enemy in). Granted you have more prep type skills and emergy type skills then the other two classess I mentioned.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t strategic play at work. It just means some classess need to constantly use skills.
As to PvE. . . Most of those fights are determined ahead of time. Either your setup works or fails. Normal mobs? Hammer. Unstunnable elite? Strafe with bow. Dungeon boss? Team work or fail, usually. I can usually whipe out most of a a 5 to 10 mob pull in orr with my bow/axe combo.
" If stats didn’t matter, everyone would run around naked. "
There are certain bossess I run naked since your armour grants little benefit.
I also agree, get rid of magic find and up the drop rate so it’s not such a tediously stupid thing.
“If ANet ever went through a chinese/japanese (what ever,) cultural path, such as Blizzard did, I’d be forced to quit.”
Factions is coming. No pandas.
“1. This is just silly. You’re frustrated that you can’t max your character within 10 hours? You must not like a challenge.”
I won’t agree or disagree with you (I think when you get 1 guy to 80 the others should get an exp boost, but that’s me), but please stop equating “wasting 15 hours of your life running around in a circle” with a challenge.
“15. If you spam your skills, then that’s your fault. I have put a lot of thought into my build, and I don’t need to just spam my skills. It’s called strategy, and if you choose to not play this way, that’s your fault.”
Depends on the class you play. The ele is very spammy, for instance, while the mesmer has at least some modicum of thought. (very little, but it’s more then nothing!)
It used to go day/night and rain/thunder in beta.
I didn’t notice it no longer does – I assume they turned it off to improve WvW performance.
AKA: Just wait it’ll be back when more of the game works.
