What I want from GW1 would be the extreme fun I had early on with it. I find it funny I basically have the reverse opinion in GW2 – I liked GW1 PvE and find the GW2 PvE to be starting to drag (mostly thanks to waypoint fees and other “please move but don’t move too much or we’ll give you bad loot” type stuff), while I find GW2’s sPvP far better then RA or TA ever was.
“I understand and appreciate why there are mechanics like travel costs and repair costs to consume money out of the game”
Repair costs punish you for dying. Crafting has physical costs to take money out of the economy. Trade post does the same for trading. There are consumables that cost cash for either direct benefits or for bonuses and gems are also a gold sink.
These all make sense.
Fast travel does not. I’d say adding a cooldown or 5 or 10 minutes to it (or at least a free travel cooldown of such) would be better then the current system. The fees are, I assume, to prevent people from DE warping (hey guess what DR fixes that more then this does!), waypoint fees just force people to a) take a hit to the wallet or b) run to their location and only slaughter groups if they see low level monsters. It prevent friends from as easily playing with each other and annoys people who want to dungeon hop thanks to the 1 play through cap on dungeons as well.
Get rid of waypoint fees.

This would be good if gossamer plants started existing. Leather’s too common for me to care about where I get it.
Put both your items in your bank, and using an appropriate transmutation stone – fine if the stat item is 80, regular if not. Let me know if that helps.
I would like a way to get to them more easily (free waypoints) and chests to be leveled to 80 so we can actually get decent loot from lower tiered chests. Jump puzzles are rarely reliant on your level (one or two are a challenge alone, especially at their required level, but like no other one is)
You can reskin it later on using a transmutation stone – you can also start a new characther and transmute starter equipment to another item and then put that in your bank and then retransmute it again so your characther has it.
It’s working as intended. It’s less bad in groups and works quite well in WvW sieges if you can live long enough to not get FF’d to death. Ele’s down bar is not super though.
I agree with soulbound equipment becoming account bound. At least if ANet keeps wanting to reduce our drop rate to nothing/next to nothing. I’d also like to see a armour holder like what PvP has.
If ANet makes the drop rate plentifum again, then maybe equipping my 15 characther won’t go from “acceptable” to “teehee-thanks for spending cash on our game! GTFO.”
“I think all bound armor should be account bound.”
If ANet keeps the nerfs to drops up, I agree with this – getting a single piece of armour will probably take a week for new players then.

Just remember ANet, the more time consuming items are to get, the more plentiful bots will be – bots make money off taking the time away from you. Add more time required for something, add more bots.
“Gotta wonder how many bots make up the population of each world tho….”
If our orr is any indication, 20 of around 200 (JQ) with the 20 affected maybe 6 maps out of the entire game with most of the game averaging 100.
I mostly look at the trade post for indication – if I put a decent buy order, I usually get what I want (even though it’s fairly rare) within a minute or such. That tells me a lot of people are playing since even rare stuff gets dumped on there frequently.
Shatterer happens every three hours since not everyone is in the same time zone.
Didn’t ANet say early in development these 5 classess were it?
Fully seperate. Next thing you know people want glory from WvW and such.
The current warrior is part paragon part warrior. Enjoy it.

Another possibility is XFire adversly affects playing GW2. I know I recently stopped opening steam (started again to bug friends to play GW2 with me) as I didn’t care, but maybe there’s some incompatibility with GW2 and Xfire? (Anyone use both?)
I think there’s a bug there, as it worked on defeated players the few times I tried it in beta.
But then my banner of ultimate ressurection also worked on defeated players (does from time to time now too) but not anymore.
The reason for it being less is since the enemies are far far weaker. I can solo man group events (especially for 60 or less areas) with my warrior with no issue, I could not do that at 60. The reward downscale is a bit lower (I think I’m exagerating since I remember 220~ karma being my reward and not 150) to match the challenge, and I am accepting of this.
Purple has always kind of been the class colour.
Mesmers were originally heavy based on Lyssa (GW1), and her colour was also purple/pink. Most mesmer hexes (ex: soothing images) dropped purple/pink auras (soothing images in specific was purple/pink butterflies)
“If you have a target, glyph of renewal will ressurect that target first.”
Fixed everything but the earth attunment.
“Yes, the classes with the ability will asked often for this service. This opens up a chance at making a bit of copper on the side. I never saw a problem with it in WoW.”
K, I have a solution then.
Make weapons break, only warrior can repair it.
Make death give you bruises, only guardians can mend them.
Take out waypoints, only eles can teleport.
Only necros can ressurect.
Only engineers can refine materials.
Only rangers can extract loot from corpses (that giant skull has to be skinned somehow!)
I am drastically opposed to any form of “class X does service Y”.
“The karma and XP does not scale. Loot may/does-kinda but isn’t part of this particular suggestion.”
I get 250~+ karma from an orr DE.
I get 150~+ karma from a queensdale DE at level 80.
I get 80~+ karma from a queensdale DE at low level.
“1.) Why is it seperate? Why can I not progress similar? Does it matter if I craft, quest, dungeon or pvp? Why the discrimination.
2.)Its styles, not gear. And you cant wear gear earned in the mists outside of the mists. You get rewards for pve’ing but really get nothing for pvp.
3.) In the WvW your skill points and spec are still low level, as is the gear. Making me a real liability to my team for me to join, and I cant really do anything cause Im too weak.”
1) Because sPvP is designed for completely balanced play in mind. Hence all your upgrades are visual, and that is a key concept of sPvP – WvW is your “PvP with loot” feature.
2) See #1, sPvP is designed to be seperate from PvE and WvW and I agree with it – it’s a bridge between GW1’s “PvP only characthers” and “PvE / PvP characthers” which I support. It also means that if you have not played sPvP your glory will reflect that.
3) Your traits and SP are low, but your stats are up leveled to compensate – this usually means you have less max damage but more overall defense as your stats are leveled and generally well rounded. At about level 20+ (and especially level 30+) you really aren’t that kittened in WvW, but before you get your 3 utility skill you are fairly kittened.
I don’t get why you people are arguing so much, it already does.
In queensdale at low levels I got around 50 copper for an event I did on my warrior later on and got 1.2 silver for. It doesn’t scale all the way (1.8s in orr) but it scales most of the way.
“1.) Give Xp for killing people in pvp matches – doesnt have to be a lot, but I can still progress level wisedoing what I like to do.
2.) Rewards. I dont wanna get into the politics of pvp gear, i think its a failure this game doesnt have it in the Mists pvp combat – But, at least let us wear our pvp styles outside of the mists. Seriously.
3.) If the above 2 suggestions are out of the question – why not at least allow WvW to have starter pvp gear and full spec when zoning into the matches at lower levels?”
1) They give you glory as sPvP is seperate, WvW gives exp.
2) No, you can get the same gear in PvE as PvP, no need to cross them in any way.
3) WvW up levels you and generally gives you high stats (I tended to notice being up leveled gave my characther far more crit chance then being down leveled did). I would say that makes up for the weapon bonuses.
“OR: “It takes me 40 mins to complete a heart because level 80’s are killing everything for a close by Defend event. They have more/better attacks, speed buffs and understand better how to clear this event.””
This is why I honestly think being within attack range (1’200) AND in a combat stance should net you rewards as if you partook in the combat. I can’t tell you how many times I ignore actually killing something to lightly AoE an entire DE since it tags me as “contributing” to everything, while I actually do nothing meaningful to help to event and just hog all the loot.
The main reason for kitten poor class balance (aka: why are there so many warriors and guardians)

Warrior = good at one or a few things, ele = versatile and powerful.
You’re asking nerf the warrior into one single path and make the ele into the DPS warrior or the same as they are now with more DPS while ignoring that the Ele’s lack of survivability comes from heightened abilities.
I played an Ele for a while and am continuing to level one up right now – Warrior can take more to the face, ele can do more in a group (and generally a lot easier). I do not see the problem yet.
“The fees, particularly for small distances, are not only meant as a gold sink but also to deter you from always porting around tiny distances, which it accomplishes in my opinion quite effectively. Generally I think the fees are acceptable.”
The fees are there to annoy and cuckhold. Going to daily jump puzzles is either expensive or annoying (you still usually mine and kill your way there so drops aren’t very adversly affected)
It also prevents you from as easily playing with your friends. There are not many dungeosn not adjacent to a main town, or easy enough to get to, so the fee means those that know the trick go “H->Mists->LA->Gates->City->Outside->Dungeon” for free while it drains those that do not. That said, this is again an annoyance.
Waypoint fees are not a good gold sink as 60% of the player base avoids it and lives with the annoyance and the other % doesn’t know how to and walks everywhere. Annoying your clientelle like this =/= good.
“That said, how about giving a couple of classes a summon spell? Allow them to summon a specific party member to their location. This allows a group to quickly relocate a wayward member to the action. If you’re not in a group, use the waypoints.”
Because every walock summon @#%^ from WoW will tell you that was a GREAT addition.
Splendid has a decent chance at a good item.
My issue is splendid chest dropping level 4 blues for my level 80.
1) Scale the drops from chests (it’s a pain to do some of the early puzzles and get. . . lvl 5 blues at 80)
2) They slightly scale – They scale like waypoints. 50 copper turns into 1.2 silver at level 80.

“12) Music is very good in this game. Please make an option so we can select the music songs fromt he complete list of songs in the game so we can run the tunes we like best”
I would also like something like this and them to get rid of or massively improve the current auto sound. Right now 90% of my game time is spent in the ambient sound broken up by when the game randomely deceides I’m in an actiony moment when I swing my hammer for 5-10 seconds then back to ambient.
If out of combat, you heal at around 2 times your normal rate (200+ vs 100<)
If they’re down (not dead), you heal them around 4x faster.
If they’re dead dead, it takes a long time.
This may fix your confusion as the time to res if easy to predict. (really short if they’re down or insanely long if they’re dead)
It's disappointing that legendary items require 100% world completion

“Get in there, get some people and take the tower. You can take a tower with less than 10 people with a well timed attack. Sure, that is not something that you can do by yourself, but it’s far from impossible even on undermanned servers.”
1) Hard to do, 2) You have not played against a stacked server line before. It’s sometimes possible but incredibly hard or tedious to do (stark comparison to the PvE area, which can be frustrating but not next to impossible for 2 weeks).
I’d say removing WvW from world completion count and leaving their base rewards in would be best.
This would be stupid and compeltely against ANet’s resistant stance on “Play for a long time = own the market”.
By stupid, I mean free waypoints and armour repair.
“5% chance on hit to summon a fleshreaver, cannot trigger more then once every 3 minutes”
Fixed, in line with rune bonuses and summon companions.
EDIT: Yes, this thing is useless. I tried it out too.
“I’d say only tax cross zone WP travel so it would all be set up like cities. This way your death toll would be much less horrid.”
So instead of just zoning from orr to frostgorge I’d just have to zone to malchor’s, straits, mount mal, etc (or do the same using LA→hoelbrak→zonezonezone)?
Just make them 100% free.
I did point out that NPCs hugging you into not wanting that loot with dialogue boxes is annoying in PvE as well right?
I only vote for removing the waypoint tax because all it really does it make the peopel who want to break the economy grind orr while it also makes other players who want to experience the game. . . Also grind orr since it’s too expensive to leave and come back.
They’ll either be worth more then getting the ecto, at which case they will be farmed, or less, at which case people might drop some “bonus” marks they got from farming or helping friends but would never generally be used.
I assume most people against this don’t run a lot of dungeons, or don’t do WvW.
I support this due to my issue with. . .
F→Talk to hylek→Close hylek conversation→F→Revive Ally→Finish reviving or try to move around ally→F→Back to the hylek→F→Loot
Or WvW
Jump kill someone→F→Spear them→F for loot→Star spearing someone else→Get pushed back→Look at 3 loot bags in enemy spawn
Great. >.>
“I think a better idea might be to have ecto, loadstones and t6 crafting mats available at the dungeon vendors. This way to get the armor from a dungeon you still have to run that dungeon, but if you help a friend with a dungeon you can trade your tokens in for something useful.”
It’d either be too expensive or too cheap, IMO.
“I support the idea.
Is it ‘easy’ to write code that makes parts of an object not render when “clipping” through another object?”
Say that to most charr helmets.
I guess making them account bound was the start of the slippery slope. No, they should not be tradeable.
Legendaries are by design grindy – I think that UNLESS ANET KEEPS NERFING EVERYTHING WE DO FOR INCOME they were perfectly ok to get before hand. Right now, we need more ectos injected into the system due to the ludicrously hard rate most people have of getting them.
“Please make my side better and their side worst!!!!!111!!!111!!!!”
Blast + Fire grants 3 stacks of might, leap + fire is the fire aura (no idea what that does). Doesn’t blast + frost grant chill and blast + dark do life steal?
This doesn’t at all affect anything other then what you see.
If people could just press a button to get a +1 score in basketball, but the score was hidden, the game would still be bloody broken.
I concure with the bonuses being tied to what you own right now. It makes more sense – if you own 75% of a world, it’d give you better access to crap (this of course being sense within a gaming world, as I doubt owning india would make you craft better, but logically you’d have access to india things that may make your crafting easier in real life, ex : techniques you might not have, silk, etc).
Hundred blades is fine. You can’t move so people can easily dodge it.
No idea on pistol whip, I hear it’s stupid OP though.
To the guy before me, hundred blades is the many slashes in front of you move, not the whirl.
“~ yes, that’s my OWN opinion.. but at the same time, can you really say that GW2 is better as it is now Vs. what I’m suggesting?”
Yes I can. Burning is your toxic, poison is your poison.
Burning is high DPS, poison is DPS + healing debuff. If burning did more the longer it was on someone, it’d be exactly your toxic but that change is not required.
You’re also proposing taking away monster flavor (EX: Rage) and just adding two new versions of cripple and chill from what I can see.
Overall not required.
