Just saw the stream, loads of fantastic works!
Congrast to everyone who got featured!
I agree, it was a terrific set of assets. And thanks again, Knightsy, for your wonderful creations!
Hey Gaile! When’s the deadline? (so that I won’t miss it again
)
Hi Levi — I would say that I will be pulling assets for the show around October 7-10. I have to do it early to get the assets into the presentation, write the script, etc. Those dates may be before the Halloween Festival starts within the game (I’m not sure). In any regard, artists can use their memories, general Halloween culture, or images from last year for inspiration.
Hope to see something from you – you always do such great work!
Hello,
Events of this sort — which we support very much! — belong in this In-Game Events sub-forum and that is why the thread was moved here.
If you have been following the Scavenger Hunt thread, here it is. If you have not been following it, consider joining in!

Hey there, Halloween fans!
We’d love to know about your upcoming Halloween-related events, parties, gatherings, hauntings, and more! I will be sharing a listing of player-led events with the entire studio in our weekly newsletter. If you share info about the event here, I may be able to include it.
Info to provide:
Add to that a description of what you’re planning and you’re good to go!
Thanks so much for supporting our Halloween event with your own special parties and events — it makes the holiday so much richer for everyone!
I am so sorry that I believed that Alkyoneus was the creator! Please, everyone, if you are sharing creations from another person, make sure your listing says that, so that we can credit the artist properly.
Thank you for understanding, Hunnamus!

I think Anet might feel my ideas are feasible and might work, even if not in the exact manner I presented them. Since they infracted and edited my post for reasons they did not share with me, and didn’t delete my post outright.
Just imagine, a world vs world having actual military orders and punishments. it adds a whole new dimension to the game.
The reason your comments were edited was clearly explained in your infraction notification: "Do not post using all capital letters, “leetspeek,” excessive punctuation, colored text, alternating lower case and capital letters, or any other attention-seeking formatting. Allow the content of your post to speak for itself without attempting to draw attention through formatting gimmicks.”
All that was edited was the removal of capital letters. To suggest that it was altered in some substantive way is inappropriate and untruthful.
While we appreciate the objective of highlighting dev input on a topic, what happens when a new thread is created is that the discussion — in this case a very valuable one — is split.
We have merged the newer thread into the core thread. Be aware that because there is a developer response within the thread, and that is highly visible on page 1, it’s unlikely that her comments will be missed. In addition, because this thread (and not the other) has the “red flag” of an ArenaNet post, this thread would / should remain the focal point in continuing the conversation.
Thanks for understanding.
Edit: Here’s a link to the developer post mentioned above.

There were several interesting reports in this thread about possible issues with those less-than-wholesome and clearly less-than-motivated worker rats.
I have passed along the reports. Thanks for, first of all, using the in-game report system for them, because that gives the devs a chance to get more data than a forum report. However, posting in this thread wasn’t a bad idea!
There is an issue with the tracking of player map completion in Episode 2. We apologize for this issue, and we’re going to address it in the future. However, due to the complexity of the back-end systems that drive repeatable hearts and other elements within Episode 2, we won’t be able to make a quick fix for this.
In the meantime, we’d like to share some pointers on how to best achieve Map Complete in Ember Bay:
Perhaps not related but there’s a bug where if you are not on the ground (jumping) while using the contract it will be used but will not yield any reward (or skritt). Hopefully these issues can be resolved
I can pass that long, since they’re actively working on the contract. Thanks!
September Episode up on YouTube now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glr7iYEVnOE
Thanks for joining us, during the show or after!
There is an issue with the Skritt Worker Contracts that will be addressed as soon as possible. In the meantime, we have temporarily disabled the contracts.
Excellent, good feedback so far!
@Gaile: It’s definitely not exclusive to sylvari! I’m coming on my main human!
Good news! I’m glad that us non-veggies are welcome!
That’s a nice set of links! Now, how do we alert ANet that the Dragon Vigil track’s only comment is inappropriate irrelevant spam?
edit: That same spam message seems to be on all the tracks. I don’t know what controls SoundCloud has on such things but ANet likely wants it gone yesterday.
Thanks for the reports. My associate is working on cleaning that up right now.

In an effort to keep our website timely and accurate, we review it from time to time to make sure that everything is current and complete. When doing a review pass on the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns website, we discovered some language that was out of date and required correction.
Here’s what we changed:
This refresh gives a more accurate and complete picture of Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. If you have questions about any of the changes, please feel free to share them in this thread.
so for some reason when i woke up this morning and got on to guildwars 2 my loading screen took about 5 min, i did nothing yesterday the game worked fine (except for a lot of lag) but now the game loads slower than it does on my mac please help
Necroposting makes the mods Sad Pandas.
I think we’ll let it pass this time.
If you continue to notice issues, Rokua, you might post in the Technical Support forum, or submit a ticket so that you and work with our team to figure out whether there’s a problem or not.
The Black Lion Trading Company will be undergoing a scheduled maintenance this evening, Monday, September 26, 2016 starting at 8:00 pm Pacific time and ending at approximately 8:30 pm Pacific time. During this maintenance window both the Gem Store and the Trading Post may be briefly inaccessible. Please note that the Currency Exchange and client purchases are not expected to be impacted.
Just wondering — is this exclusively for Sylvari? I mean, that’s all fine and well, and I don’t want to plant any bad ideas, but would you leaf behind members of other races, should some of them want to attend?
Hello,
I created a feedback thread in the general GW2 Discussion sub-forum on the day that Episode 2 of Living World Season 3 launched. I placed it in that sub-forum because it is the one that is most highly trafficked, a sort of “one stop shopping” for many menbers.
However, if you have not shared it in the previous thread perhaps you’d like to offer it here, in the Living World sub-forum. We’d invite you to share your high-level feedback now that you’ve presumably had time to play the new release for a while. Let’s call it “In 50 words of less, what’s your impression of Rising Flames?”
Individual threads are great, too. We’re just seeking a consolidation of high-level comments through these general feedback threads.
Thanks so much for letting us know your impressions!
Just a note to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread.
For those who have not had a chance to add their thoughts, we welcome feedback in any number of threads or sub-forums, but are very much hoping that everyone will comment here, as well.
I am going to mirror this thread in the Living World Sub-forum as well, and will combine comments in both into a report.
Thanks again.
Hello,
I’m very sorry that this player is experiencing issues, and know that Customer Support will help them as soon as possible.
Please do not continue to post on this issue. Petitions are disallowed, and it would be inappropriate for CS to expedite a ticket simply due to posts asking for reprioritizing of a single player’s issues.
Thank you for understanding.
So glad it’s corrected! I know the feeling: lost and helpless, wandering in the dark…
;)
You’re always welcome here, Vayne. If there’s any confusion about the forums, moderation decisions, or our general guidelines, don’t hesitate to drop a note to Forums@Arena.Net. Naturally, we do our best to achieve consistency and fairness for all members.
I love that you guys are on board with joining the Cat Herder Coalition™!

Hello, i got my account permanently banned. I have sent a ticket that has remained unanswered since one month. I have done nothing wrong that could have resulting into my ban. I would like an explaination, a reason of my ban. I was told that some people got ban after using some vpn, and I use a vpn called hoxx while Im on the web, maybe it is related to my ban… i hope i’ll get an answer about my situation. Thanks, and apologize for my bad english.
If your account was banned, you would not be able to post in the forums. If you are writing about an alternate account, follow up with Customer Support in a ticket, and be sure you make it clear which account you’re discussing.
This is not the place to discuss, debate, or ask for the escalation of support issues. You have posted in the only thread in which questions about tickets are allowed, and you will be answered as soon as the team is able to do so, in the order of inquiries received.
ArenaNet has been known to ban everybody on an IP address. If you used a VPN service, it is possible to get banned along with other people. .
No, we don’t do that. I asked years ago about IP blocking and I learned that doing that can be risky, in that you may think you’re blocking a problematic player from rejoining the game, but in fact are taking out his/her entire apartment building, college, or neighborhood. Obviously, that would not be desirable.
Ha! I saw that cat, and it even ’Meow’ed at me, and I never even thought about the ‘cat’ collection.
Silly me!
If the Devs keep adding cats to locations, will we (who feed them) all eventually become ‘crazy cat ladies’? =P
Already there, personally.
If they want to go gender neutral they could use “Cat Wrangler” instead.
I prefer “Cat Herder.”

Hey all. We had a power failure in the building today, but all is well — we’ll be recording CSL tomorrow and will air on schedule at Noon Pacific time on Wednesday, September 28.
Hope to see you there!
I would recommend that in fringe cases where one is unsure if it is ok to necro a thread or not, one make a new thread but start off with a link to the old one as reference. “I didn’t want to necro (link) but the discussion there is relevant to this current concern of mine, which is …” that sort of thing.
Then a mod can merge the threads if the old one is still relevant enough and it won’t count as necro’d since a mod did it.
That is a very sensible suggestion. Thanks!
That’s so nice to know. Thanks for the background! But… honestly… Prince Rurik?
Thanks for this clarification, Gaile, it’s been something I’ve been wondering about for a while now.
Just for further clarification, if someone posts a contribution to a thread that is considered “necro’d,” and that post/thread gets deleted/locked, then is it okay for the person to create a new thread on that same topic?
~EW
That’s a good question. I wouldn’t be able to answer it across the board, though, because situations vary. In most cases, I think it would be ok, but you have instances where a question has been asked and answered and someone then feels compelled to open a new thread about the same topic. In any situation with a locked thread, it’s worth looking at why it was locked. For instance, if it’s an old topic that’s discussed multiple times (a few come to my mind, as I’m sure they do yours ) then not creating a new thread would be best. In other cases, it might be fine. I’d just suggest using best judgment on the matter.
I am going to sticky this thread. Please look for it in the future in the Sticky (upper) section of this sub-forum.
Thanks.
This post was removed, but I think (with a modest change in title to make its purpose clearer) it’s a worthwhile topic.
I agree that it’s awkward if we ask members to try to post in related threads and then “ding” them when they do. If a member finds a thread within a reasonable timeframe — say, in the last six months, perhaps? — adding to that thread seems fine to me in many cases.
There are a few kinds of “necro” posting:
The difference between “constructive” and “non-constructive” can be the difference between “I’m still experiencing this issue” and "Get off your kitten, Anet, and FIX THIS!! "
Anyway, it seems to me it makes perfect sense to post comments in a recent thread, and recent doesn’t necessarily mean this last week. If you find a post on a certain topic, you can post your contribution in that thread. That sometimes helps us gauge the import of an issue or evaluate the level of interest in a suggestion.
Thanks for asking the question, lethotix, and I hope this information makes you feel a little better about how we hope that things will go.
Thank you for resurrecting this thread.
Repeating the post from Tuesday the 20th.

Hey all,
This thread was accidentally moved off the readable portion of the forums. I will follow up on why that happened and make it clear that this is a valuable thread, one that I know a few devs follow, in fact.
Back in circulation, we’re good to go with future additions!
Is this new as of today’s build?
Thanks.
We noted an issue in the Fractal Lobby where the training golems could cause a server crash. We have disabled the spawning of training golems until we can address the issue.

We are working on a bug involving the PvP Default Builds. At the present time, when a player selects a new default build, the system is causing un-soulbound items to become soulbound without notice. For example, if you have a legendary or precursor weapon in your inventory, it could be equipped and soulbound without your approving that change. Naturally, this is not intended behavior, and we will be correcting this issue as quickly as possible. In the meantime, please avoid the PvP Default Builds system until we get this corrected. If an item in your possession was involuntarily soulbound, please contact Customer Support so that the team can try to assist you.

It’s beautiful! (I have that bow, too. )
In the September 20 Rising Flames release, the Mercenary Amulet was made available. It was not intended for this amulet to be reintroduced and we will be removing it with an upcoming hotfix.
