I have to say your positive comments and support have been wonderful. I mean, this is Mo’s thread, but I’m going to jump in and say “thanks” for that.
Pro Tip: If you’ve been sitting at the log-in screen, you may continue to get the “Can’t log in” message even though the game is accessible. Close the game completely and start over. Success!
See you in the game!
The log-in servers are offline, but I think the space time continuum is ok.
We’ll share more info as we have it.
In order to correct the issue that occurred earlier today, we need to take the forum log-in system offline for a short while to allow continued work on the issue and prepare for the roll-back. You will be able to read the forums while log-in is unavailable.
We have brought down the servers for an unscheduled maintenance. We will notify you when the maintenance is over.
We apologize for the inconvenience. The team is working on this bug.
We definitely are working on this. Another similar post here. We’ll close this one and try to keep the conversation focused in the one thread.
Thanks for your patience as we get this resolved!
The team is actively working on this issue. Thanks for the reports and the extra details. We’ll get this bug smooshed as soon as possible!
“Except Quebec.”
Why me?
DGraves, here’s an external article about why Quebec is always excluded from these things.
http://contests.about.com/od/sweepstakes101/f/VoidinQuebec.htm
Sorry no one loves you there </3
As a Canadian, I would add to that: the company would also need to translate everything into french (all promotional materials, documentation that goes with the prize, everything).
Exactly. We’re not delighted with the restriction, at all, and we’d love to include Quebec, but it’s not practical to do so with the laws/restrictions in that province.
Update:

Someone please! GO to this event and stand by the restroom. Everytime a Dev tries to go in stop them and ask if they would like to exit to Dragon Stand.
And that is positively evil. But a little clever, too.
Love the images! Could you guys please post these in the requested forum?
Welllllll… ok, go ahead and put up two.
You may have noticed we’re getting sentimental this month, posting Throw-back Thursday tweets that look back at the launch of Guild Wars 2.
Do you have any screenshots from launch weekend that you would like to share with us? We’d love to see them! Post your best shot in this thread in the Community Corner/Community Creations forum. Come on, now — share the love!

Tune in now, if you can!
This thread has turned into a lot of accusatory back-and-forth on several topics, and whatever merit it may have held in the beginning has been lost due to the reduced signal-to-noise ratio.
Closed.
Thiers a number you can call for dealing with ectoplasmic aperitions like these.
Can we get a proton pack rifle skin with backpiece and a jumpsuit outfit in the gem store please just incase this issue escalates. Oh also hope this all ties into the halloween patch in someway so we get new halloween content this year
And remember, don’t cross the streams.
I did that, and there are few things I regret moa.
Well… we decided to stick it, actually.
Thanks for putting this together, and for keeping it up to date, as well!
Question? For the forum name should we include the period and the four digits following it? Like in my case its the “.2861” Because I included that in my forum name in addition to “kosanovskiy” part and don’t want it to cause any confusion.
Also guess which Hunter you will be seeing at Pax West Party 2016? <—-This guy…if I get selected.
Yes, your display name includes the four digits after any name or words, so please do include the full display name.
Thanks for asking.
Bug Fix
Do you guys think our characters are not alright? That maybe hanging out in bloodstone fen has messed with our character’s minds?
Oh, I’m sure of it.
Well, I’m not sure of it in a game development sense, but we start collecting Unbound Magic, and before you know it, we’re taking a “just a few minutes I can quit at any time” attitude about it. That way seems to lead to some sort of bloodstone madness, right?
A message from the Fractals team:
As a result of the infusion changes that were introduced with the July 26 release, some high-level agony infusions, +16s in particular, are no longer useful to players. Since then we’ve been monitoring your feedback and proposals for rectifying this issue.
Some players have requested that we extend the Infusion Deconstruction tab on INFUZ-5959 to include agony infusions up to +20. Unfortunately, this is not something that we can do. Due to the exponential nature of infusions, allowing all high-level agony infusions to be deconstructed would introduce up to 180,000 +9 Agony Infusions into the economy. With only ~300 +9 Agony Infusions currently on the trading post, a massive influx like that would be problematic to say the least.
We will instead allow players to trade in +16 Agony Infusions to INFUZ-5959 in exchange for 5 of the new +5 Attribute +9 Agony Infusions, of an attribute of their choice. As these new infusions are account-bound, this will allow players to recoup some value from their +16 Agony Infusions without the economic problems that come from full deconstruction.
For players with infusions higher than +16, INFUZ-5959 will let you break those down into multiple +16s, which can then be traded to INFUZ for the new infusions. If you have a +14 or +15 infusion, you can use artificing to combine those into a +16 infusion, which can then be traded to INFUZ.
We’ve scheduled these changes to go out with our next patch. These options will be available to all players, so when that patch hits, all you will need to do is bring your high-level agony infusions to INFUZ in order to exchange them for the new ones.
Update: This is all clear now. You’re good to go. Now, get in there and take out those baddies!

Galie,
I sent you the PM about the party however when I look at the sent message, it keeps changing my last name to another word instead as if it is being censored.
Would this be any problem or it shows up normally on your side?
As I messaged you, we’re fine on the name, and I apologize for the weirdness of our word filter. Sometimes… I have to wonder.
What a great thread! We’ve stickied this to retain visibility for the many players it will help.
Thanks, Hesacon.
Hey folks,
I’ve taken a look at the first incoming requests, and most do not have a “plus one” listed. That’s great — no problem at all. But we will only add to the guest list the names we have, so if someone signed up as Fred Smith and they show up with Mary Jones, poor Mary is going to be on the outside looking in, because we only have one name.
IOW, we are not setting aside two tickets when you are selected unless you provide details for your guest.
If you have questions, please let me know, and thanks!
If you submitted your name, and were intending to bring a guest, please find your PM to me in your “Sent” folder and update the thread to give me your information and that of your guest. Thanks.

In order to address this issue as quickly and thoroughly as possible, we’ve temporarily disabled access to the Raid Wing 3 map. This will ensure that players don’t start a raid that they currently would be unable to complete.
We will re-enable access to the raid wing as soon as the issue is corrected. Thanks for your patience.
Bug Fixes
Too far away.. any gamescom presence?
I only wish! I love gamecom — it’s been a fave since I attended many years ago. Hope to see you another time.
We wanted to update you to let you know we are aware that Raid Wing 3 is broken. The team is actively working on a fix, and they hope to get that out very soon. This is definitely a prioritized issue.
Apologies for the inconvenience!
I just received an update on this issue, and it appears that the problem with Lavasoft Web Companion is still causing issues for players who want to update their game.
Please read the thread above for suggestions on how to work around this problem. We’re very sorry that our efforts to address this with Lavasoft have not been productive and that some players still are being impacted by that program’s DLL blocking updates to our game.
Wish I could go, but unfortunately I live in the UK.
Have fun whoever else goes. Hopefully I’ll see you ANet guys at Rezzed again at some point.
Thanks, JayMack. I hope to see you a Rezzed, for sure. It’s a great show and I was thrilled to be there last year. Here’s to a future party on the UK side!
Hey there,
ArenaNet will be holding our traditional community party during PAX West weekend. The event will take place the evening of Friday, September 2, at a downtown Seattle location near the Washington State Convention Center.
If you would like to attend, you can throw your hat into the ring by sending me a Private Message here on the forums by Noon PDT on Friday, August 19.
Here are your instructions for the Private Message:
Guilds: If your guild will be attending PAX West, and you would like us to look into adding you and your guild members to the guest list for our PAX West Party, please e-mail me at Guilds@Arena.Net. Use “PAX West Party 2016 – Guild” in the subject line. Important Note: Guilds and members of guilds who are applying for guild tickets should not sign up for personal tickets. Those who do so will be disqualified from receiving tickets of any kind.
Edit to add: If you wish to bring a guest, you must provide their first and last name. If you already submitted your name for the ticket giveaway and were intending to bring a guest, please find your PM to me in your “Sent” folder and update the thread to give me your information and that of your guest. (Please update rather than sending a second PM.) Thanks.
We will contact individuals and guilds who are on the guest list during the week of August 22. Ticket numbers are very limited, and we will not be able to respond to those who were not added to the guest list.
It’s going to be a fun evening, and we look forward to getting a chance to party with Guild Wars 2 players! Hope to see you there!

A message from the PvP Team:
Hello everyone,
A few weeks ago we posted a small update on this forum about how we intend to make a number of system changes to improve the PvP league experience. While the bigger changes we’ll be making to leagues won’t be ready in time for Season 4, we’d like to let you know about a change that will be in effect for this upcoming season.
With the start of Season 4, we’ll be returning to Season 1’s style of matchmaking which focuses on creating the most balanced teams from the players queueing within your pip range. This change may widen the skill range of players in each division, but we feel that increased match quality is worth the trade-off of reduced prestige for this season. During Season 2 and 3 we added two league features that greatly impacted your ability to climb: start-of-season division placement based on previous season performance and win/lose streak pips, and both of these features will remain enabled for Season 4.
We’re not at a point where we’re able to discuss the changes we’ll be making to PvP Leagues for future seasons, but making rewards more accessible for casual players and making divisions prestigious and a more accurate indicator of skill are among our highest priorities.
Thanks,
The PvP team
Perhaps you mean the Wednesday after next? Or, if it is next Wednesday, then, August 10th?
Yep. In my excitement, I bumped it to one week earlier. I corrected the main post.
Guys,
Please don’t put up the names of RMT companies in our forums. As one member pointed out, you’re essentially spreading the word of their business, inadvertently “advertising” for them.
Report them in the game. I guarantee that many are addressed every day, and I’ll talk with CS on Monday to see if there are ways we could improve the filters.
Keep in mind, as others point out, malicious companies who find they are blocked often just create new names, so containing them can be a bit of a case of “whack-a-mole.” Still, we do take this seriously, and we act on RMT spammers every day. With your help, we can do more!
I really like these — good job!
That’s really good. What’s her name?
I like this a lot!
This is really well done! You’ve captured that beloved Norn nicely!
You know what would be fascinating? To see the number of hours that players have generously given in creating the wiki. I’ll have to ask Stephane if that’s possible. I truly am impressed and helped by all that sterling content!
Amazing! Beautiful! Thank you for sharing and for your obvious love of our game!
Hi there,
You can check out the Content Terms of Use on this link: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-content-terms-of-use/
I think that will give you the info you need.
That’s very strange! Let me see if we can get some additional information in order to look into this:
Thanks for the help.
Just a note to invite you to turn out or tune in for Community Showcase Live on Wednesday, August 17, at Noon Pacific. I’ll be live in Twitch chat watching the show with you, as usual.
I’m reviewing assets now, and there are so many beautiful, funny, moving, amusing, breath-taking, clever, cute, stunning, pretty… so many good things!
Hope to see you in chat next Wednesday, and in the meantime… keep creating!

Next Show: Wednesday, August 17 — Noon Pacific time.
I’m pretty sure Gaile was the Team Lead for the CS Team, just as Michael is now.
According to Michael, she used to ‘handle tickets’, just as he does now.
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/arenanet-tracker/topic/339870-a-little-movement-here-in-cs-world/
My bad then. I stand corrected.
No, Rose, you were correct.
I was never CS Lead. I was Support Liaison, and the thread I created and maintained was in place to allow me to review CS decisions and see if we could come up with a better outcome for players. It also allowed me to ask CS of they could handle tickets that may have lingered too long in the system, or have fallen through the cracks. I didn’t make CS decisions; I aided players in getting the most positive outcome possible. So as you can see, I wasn’t making decisions — I was helping players.
And whether I was CS Lead or not, saying “You deserved it” is inappropriate and cruel.
Saying I failed at that job — which incidentally I have not held in two years — is unfair and inaccurate. If an agent erred in handling someone’s issue, or if there were security issues that were not handled to the satisfaction of a player or group of players, whyever would it be seen as “karma” for me, personally, to suffer loss?
And saying “We/I did this to get your (company’s) attention” is reprehensible. Hurting a person to send a message is inhumane and wrong.
