The guild lords in Legacy has potential. Make them insta-win and harder to bring down with some sort of revamping escorts and guards locations within the base but not to the point of annoying, impossible to do in a way that ignoring them will be pretty much a way better option to ensure a win.

Why not just have regular Dragon mobs classed as vets/champs? Every dragon doesn’t HAVE to be a boss but Anet seems to think otherwise..

Forest NPC used to give 50 points when first released IIRC. They toned it down to 25.

They can increase it again. And then do the same to the Guild Lord. But I think the reason why they reduced the points for NPC kills in Forest was to not rely too much on the secondary objectives. However, with the evolution of the meta and now having bunkers rule, I think they need to bring it back up to allow for some shifting and what-not.

Balance is atm. a non-Issue copared to necessary features like custom servers and obs-mode.

People only fight or defend for what benefits them. If not, we would all be heroes and to become a hero will not be as prestigious as it is now.

Eh, that’s basically just an aoe knockback every 240 sec. That’s still pretty weak and low impact imo. Still weak damage/offensive abilty, just some defensive abilities for a short period on an large cooldown.

I’d say just make it suck in instead of out. Then tweek from there.

Well yeah, we could use some damage buffs to it. But my point basically is that it should have a fairly shorter duration than the current one and make them worth using even with that very short duration.

Pretty much this. They can also focus more on other utilities without having to mind the positions of the illusions whether letting them attack the target until they die or auto-track targets for a shatter. But we’re way off track of the topic here. XD

The ONLY world boss that isn’t a joke is the Megadestroyer in Mount Maelstrom.

He actually moves around unlike all the rest of them. And he can 1 shot or 2 shot people. And I’ve seen him wipe out dozens of players with his aoe flame attack.

This is how dragons should have been.

Yeah, and that event needs some sort of coordination too for the pre-event with all those laser-thing-a-majigs and the lava that burns you when you stay on it. I loved that place. That was a nice event basically due to terrain limitation and such.

The funny part is, Tornado is actually only used to exploit bugs like these. Before this, there was that Stability bug that never wears off when you prematurely cancel/exit tornado form.

It’s a very useful Elite skill, ONLY if it has something exploitable that is.

I really wish that Anet sees this is an indicator that this Elite is in dire need of halp.

If I were to redesign Tornado, I’ll give it a longer cooldown, say 240 seconds, reduce the duration of the Transformation to 4 seconds, remove the abilities but make it so everything at 150-200 range is automaticaly Knocked Back 500-600 range, maintain the movespeed like a turtle, still has Stability which can be stripped and destroys projectiles like what an actual tornado does. It is not immune to damage so it can still be actually hit with non-projectile but ranged attacks. This in turn make it actually meaningful and not too risky to use. The shorter duration is also okay since it’s not toooooo long because locking out an Ele from his skills is actually detrimental unless the trade-off is actually worth it. As everyone has pointed out, you are basically suiciding once you transform since you can’t use ANY of your abilities.

Actually, IMO, most if not all the Transformation skills in this game have the same issue. They have veeery long duration lasting more than 10 seconds but does not provide any meaningful impact considering that you are basically locked out of your weapon skills, healing skill, and utility skills, to actually consider them as Elites. These transform skills should have, high CD, very low duration not more than 5 seconds, have some ways to counter, but are actually devastating or at least threatening to the opponent when used. They should be worth the trade-off for being not able to use all of your skills including healing and utilities.

What’s the reason for having Mesmer’s automatically face their targets even during the cast of blurred frenzy? I haven’t seen any other ability in the game do this? This means that if I’m standing in front of the Mesmer and he casts blurred frenzy and then I dodge roll behind him he will automatically turn around and face me continuing to cast blurred frenzy. He doesn’t have to do any of the turning himself.

With something like 100 blades, I can dodge role behind the warrior and the rest of his 100 blades will miss because he will continue to be facing forward.

Well, Heart Seeker has Evade, and auto-track in to target also.

For the record, there are certain skills that do too many stuff – high attack, low CD, evade, auto-target in one package while there other skills have little to no damage, have longer cast times and/or longer CDs, and are sooo freakin hard to land since they don’t have auto facing or auto-track targets like Eles Staff Air skill Gust.

As Follidues has pointed out, it’s how it’s designed.

@Dasorine. I agree, but the person I quoted said dragons. I agree Maw, fire elemental, and worm should have higher HP, but they are in low level zones, so meh.

They are low level zoned bosses but they are being swarmed by dozens upon dozens of fully geared level 80s because these bosses have chests that may unique level 80 exotic weapons, and rares. This in return spoils the fun for the lowbies who actually are encountering these bosses for the first time because of the ridiculous amount of level 80 players farming them so a proper event scaling not only based on the number of participating players BUT ALSO the general level of these players involved in these mega boss events is very much needed. There is down-scaling yeah being fully geared as a downscaled level 80 has very noticeable stat boost compared to a player actually on that level.

i already said it, but why since you all like challenge, temple boss are almost always avoided?

People will always go for the path of least resistance. Why would I dive into hard content when there are easy modes which can rack me up almost the same rewards (heck even more if you consider the time/reward ratio) and I believe this needs balancing or tweaking.

People are not saying they like super hard core content like the Temples with 1HKO mechanics from adds and bosses. However, they want the fail ones to be improved gameplay-wise to allow for better experience.

Is it just me or the amount of gold pvp players obtain over time is ~1000 times lower than pve players? It is interesting what does anet think about the prices of “renting”…

I’m not sure if the currency for renting was confirmed yet but I would like them to make Glory Points a form of currency for these custom arenas.

The logic of the weapon damage seems to be risk vs. rewards. The melee dagger/dagger has a great deal of damage. The scepter/dagger when used in melee range also grants a good deal of damage because of the might it can effortlessly generate with Dragon Tooth and Phoenix used as blast finishers. When scepter is used at range those two finishers are lost because the blast finishers of those skills is outside the Ring of Fire.

In Pve the Scepter/Dagger is awesome. RTL to the boss,Ring of Fire, 4 blast finishers plus any arcana finishers plus dodges and the everyone in the group is primed with insane might. When are we going to stop talking about our class as if we were solo all the time and realize what we bring to a party in combo fields, finishers, crowd control, healing, boons, and condtion removal?

Can I haz option for dealing awesome damage from myself and get rid of the “I stack hefty Might for everyone, therefore I am amazingly powerful” kind of mindset? Should ele always rely on Might andcombos to deal enough damage?

Also, I know people must be sick of cof p1 farming topics in gw2, but like it or not it’s a small part of the game and is preferable to the laggy, overrepresented world events in terms of loot imo.

Yep. And the more it’s discussed in the forums, the higher the chances it gets a major revamp sooner like what they did with AC. Even worse. XD

For the record, I’ve never set foot in CoF and other higher dungeons since I started playing. And I was part of the headstart last August. I just don’t like how dungeons are now. But that’s a different topic.

Anyways, a full GC ele will basically hit hard but also have a hard time trying to survive compared to other GC builds of other classes, in which case, you might be losing out on potential DPS in the long run. Unless you’re really really good at evading, kiting, and all.

If D/D Ele is OP, tweak how many boons can be stacked how quickly.

nope, cause Ele’s boons stacking directly depends on how well the player knows his class and is able to perform quickly the combos required to get those results.
Give to all other classes similar COMPLEX mechanics to counter it, and I am all up for it.

How is granting boon everytime you switch attunement or activate an aura complex? That’s no different from pressing Heartseeker and auto-closegap on the target dealing damage. It’s not complex.

Metero Shower hits for less since it’s supposed to hit multiple targets in a very large radius. However, due to the 5-target limit of AoEs, you will almost always do less dps with it than just spamming Fireball.

You do realize that the hit cap is per pulse on Meteor Shower, not all of the pulses combined?

I’m not aware that Meteor Shower is a pulsating AOE like the Fire Glyph AOE and that the hit cap resets per pulse. The way I notice it works is otherwise. It’s like every Meteor is an individual FireBall and that only 5 targets get hit within the AOE radius. Correct me if I’m wrong, but still, I’m not a fan of how AOE works in this game. It feels so disengaging knowing that you have a 5-person limit on your AOE even if you want to nuke a large zerg. >.<

A chance to remove 1 boon on crit every ten seconds is not so useful.

Not only should you spec for crit/precision, the fact that you get a boost of removing 1 boon every crit with a 10 second CD on a bunker guardian/ele who produce a crapload of boons without even thinking about it is very very..

And this is coming from a crit/condi based glamour/boon removing mesmur who uses the sigil. It helps, but not so much. You’re better off using the bleed on crit sigil.

Get ready to use cantrips when they stealth.

Spam AOE while running and dodging in various directions until you see a downed thief.

Oh, and build with lots of toughness, vit or both. Else you ain’t gonna survive a surprise attack from a thief. But if you are aware that the thief is there. You have a chance. Just follow my four basic steps.

I kinda wished AoEs have no limit on number of targets hit, but it will be too OP then especially in WvW.

Sometimes I realize every skill of every weapon set needs to be looked at again since the fact that they have been through many iterations, most of which have basically become useless due to unintended consequences of other changes to other aspects such as class stats, etc.

And it feels really awkward knowing that you are facing 10 or more enemies but your Lava Tomb only up to 5 targets assuming all of them are standing within the aoe radius, the rest are immune. I mean, WTF

I was expecting some sort of fix on World Events being too easy/too crowded when overpopulated like a non-fixed timer on these wretched World Events or some sort of fun randomness. A decent fix on Dynamic Events Scaling especially for starter area world bosses which are being farmed to stop the farming frenzy would have been a nice touch to improve gameplay: good rewards for challenging community content.

Unfortunately, they went with the easy route of nerfing loot once again.

Genius, Anet! You never fail to surprise me.

Now, say goodbye to a third of your PVE players. Woot!

Look at skill, says 1200/900 range. So sit 1200/900 distance back instead of sittin on the point.

Yeah, and watch helplessly as points tick for your opponents since they’re sitting pretty on the node while you pew pew at range. Because node capping isn’t the objective of conquest. Genius

A “boon hate” mechanic? The last thing this game needs are new mechanics to mitigate existing mechanics. How about addressing the problem with boons themselves by re-balancing them and the existing mechanics that are meant to deal with them?

GW1 all over again… a game filled with gimmicks that can only be countered by another gimmick.
How about fixing the gimmick instead?

I think I concur to this in a way.

I think boons are overpowered when they stack up indefinitely particularly the ones that stack duration (Regen, Prot, Vigor, Swiftnessetc). 1 or 2 minutes of Swiftness and Vigor, anyone?

I was thinking, if the max duration stacked by boons are cut in half or even less, say (30 seconds max stack duration for Swiftness or Regen, 10 seconds for Protection) do we still need boon-hate abilities and traits? Yeah, it’s a lackluster trait IMO that gets overshadowed by more useful ones. And it’s not the only one.

any way you cut it, it’s one less option for balancing, and it has a direct impact on making encounters simpler: use most powerful skills available.
