Good job only being viable with an Bugged build OP, surely it says alot about the profession if thats the only viable thing at you,

I have a question regarding tornado. Why for all that is holy and mighty does Tornado Elite skill have 22 and a half seconds of Stability buff when it only lasts for 14-15 seconds? What was the purpose for this? Was this part missed in the “tooltip fixes” patch? Why?!?

it is your fault for having unintended fun you should have been playing the game as intended and finding joy in all the other builds that you didn’t use in the first place because they aren’t as fun.
The tool tip was never clear that there should not be combo finishers, so please explain how it was the players fault?
The players should have noticed (did) and expected (did) the fix on the cool down, but that’s not all they changed.
Well, those skills that trigger after dodgerolling with the trait has the same names as actual weapon skills of the same profession. Checking the tooltip of those skills would enlighten you that none of them BUT the Earth one, Churning Earth, is described to be a blast finisher.
However, they completely removed the blast finisher from ALL of them including the Earth one.

In all honesty our class needs a huge trait overhall.. it needs to be redone from the group up :/
I don’t think its quite that bad…I think most of us love the quick gameplay that the class offers, but we need to be able to stand out in some fashion like other classes do.
We do. Our skills are flashy. Beat that.
On topic:
Is Churning Earth an UNINTENDED BLAST FINISHER or not? I would like an official response from whoever fixed the God forsaken Evasive Arcana Trait.

Maybe Churning Earth (Dagger5) was also an unintended blast. Skill animation doesn’t look “blasty” to me. Remove blast finisher of that skill next patch?
later. It doesn’t care that I’m there.”
I can’t believe you guys are crying about them fixing something that was never intended.
So you want them to only fix the Ele bugs that are detrimental to play, and just gloss over the ones that provide convenient benefit?
How anyone could think that getting blast finishers wasn’t a blatant bug is beyond me. All it takes is 10 seconds of cross-refencing the skills you’re supposed to get according to the tooltip with whether or not they’re blast finishers, and if you’d done that, you’d see that the only one is churning earth, which, had it worked as it should have, would have given you one blast every 10 seconds, at max.
Instead you got a blast every time you dodged into a field, with no internal cooldown, and irrespective of what attunement you were in, and you thought that was just going to slide by?
I mean, don’t get me wrong, it would have been awesome if they’d actually fixed the whole trait so that it worked as described, rather than half-baking it like this, but you can’t seriously believe that Evasive Arcana was going to remain in the state it was in, when it was clearly completely unintended.
And then you have the nerve to complain about it?
Then give me a blast finisher for my Churning Earth after dodging and not a poke in the mob’s kitten with kittening cripple and 1 stack of bleed. Fire,Water,Air, i don’t care. But earth too? WTK? (What the Kitten)
later. It doesn’t care that I’m there.”
i will agree 100% that it was broken, since the 10sec cooldown didnt work, but actually removing it completely seems harsh, even if it was just 1 per 10 second only in earth since churning is supposed to be a finisher.. still i dont see how they can say " oh they were unintentional.." would have thought it would be difficult to make the same mistake for every attunement
The 10sec ICD worked fine but per attunement only, i.e you can’t dodgeroll twice in a row in the same attunement and expect EA to proc because you have to wait 10seconds. But you can dodge on one attunement, change attune and dodge again, proccing two blasts almost instantly. IMO, making it a global ICD for all attunements and increasing it to say 15-20 seconds might have fixed the exploits of unkillable Ele bunkers with god-like healing or other builds that rely on might stacking on demand – casting water or fire field>dodging in water/fire>attune in fire/water or earth>then dodge again. It’s like a thief Backstabber with OP damage in a matter of seconds without much of a risk yielding high rewards. But hey, with EA, at least you’re giving up an evasion or two to get your blasts.
Yes, it’s abusive. But removing the blasts entirely is basically handicapping a fun and viable Ele playstyle especially with staff focused on combos. Just increasing ICD and making it global would have been more reasonable.

35% of times the winning a fight was thanks to dancing daggers. kitten 35% of times winning a fight was determinated by cloak and dagger.
Let’s just say it 2 most inportant skills in first 5 skills for a thief was maded 83% less efective.
Now. Are you kidding?
1.67 sec= 1 initative
10 initiative = 16.7 sec
83% less damage on 16.7 secThiefs most of the times has the “golden time”
The time a thief has to kill someone. In that time… most of utility skills are used + heal skill used. And the damage thiefs take is to big to survive much longer in combat.
After that a thief is a dead thief (most of the times.)You took 70% of our wining possibilities away. Just by that.
Man. really what the hell? Good luck fighting a warrior now. Even befor was hard, what is now? for not speak against other classes. Enginiers, or mesmers. Sorry but ele bunkers were a bit over the top previously.
I agree with this, that’s why we needed a small nerf.
But not removing the main function of evasive arcana (plus nerfing the healing at the same time). They were over the top because the blast finish activated even if the spell didn’t and because the finishes could be chained. All it would have needed was a global cooldown to prevent chaining.
I agree with this. OR they could’ve limited the number of blasts to be combo’ed with a field. There are other ways of nerfing bunker eles if that was what they wanted with the change they made for Evasive Arcana. What is depressing is the fun playstyle with EA was totally obliterated when they removed the blast finisher. Not only did it nerf the godlike healing abilities of bunker eles but it totally removed a fun mechanic or playstyle in any build that offers risk/reward via dodge rolling.
I highly doubt that they were unintended. They just said it this way just to mitigate the chaos this will cause. I maybe wrong, but who knows? Churning Earth after that dodge roll seems like a legitimate blast skill with that animation, doesn’t it?
later. It doesn’t care that I’m there.”
Evasive Arcana: This trait no longer creates unintended blast finishers.
So it WAS a bug..
Yes because Churning Earth after a dodge roll should never be a blast finisher. Heck, the animation for it is nowhere near a combo blast finisher. It is UNINTENDED!
I need to troll. I need some place to vent. Because my brain is gonna explode trying to comprehend this BUG FIX.

This is just disheartening. just when I was enjoying the only useful grandmaster trait of the Ele.
Bring the blasts back and just make the internal CDs universal for all attunements. removing them even if they are unintended is such a big slap in the face to all that have loved this kind of playstyle. and yes, churning earth normal skill in dagger is a blast finisher, but the evasive arcana isn’t? what’s the point of that churning earth after dodging? poke the enemy with kittening 100 damage? WTK?
Just bring my blasts back, please? I would still accept the increase in CD for each blast finisher after dodge, but please don’t remove them entirely. Nerf them if you must but do not remove them completely, please!!! T______T
I am begging! I am at my knees!

My main problem with Transformation Elites like Tornado (and Lich Form for necros) is that you’re supposed to become a threat because of your transformation. Enemies should change tactic, or panic a bit, or scared, of some sort. But when I become a Tornado, what actually happens is: “Focus fire tornado! They can’t kittening heal! It’s a free kill!”
Like seriously? That doesn’t sound so elite to me.
In my opinion, just making it destroy/reflect all projectiles would work. Or at least would be logical since you’re a kittening tornado aren’t you? Where on earth do you see a tornado being shot down by an army of soldiers or something like that? It’s crazy!
If it becomes too OP with the suggested change, reduce the duration in half, or increase the CD.
It’s just unbearable to almost always go down once I pop tornado with more than 2 enemies around. It’s like instant suicide that’s why I never use it PVP or PVE. -_-

They still live by their philosophy. Why can’t you guys see that?
More importantly, what are you guys afraid of?GW2: Ascended gears are just another tier. It’s not a requirement to have it to experience any future new content X/Y/Z.& You can have fun with all in-game content and dungeons with any tier equipments. You don’t need to grind to experience content X/Y/Z.
Traditional MMO: Better gears are needed to experience new contents, story in PVE and raids. Those gears are a mandatory requirement to reap the fun of the the new content X/Y/Z. Players are forced to grind just to experience newer content.
They are so different.
Yet, it ponders me why can’t people see it.
Seriously? I think you need to read the blogpost again.

Here, let me give you some nice quotes too:
“This extremely dangerous condition ticks percentages of player health away and can’t be cleansed by normal means. Players who wish to delve deep into the Fractals will find that Agony makes progress increasingly difficult, until they reach the point where some defense against this condition is a must. The only way to mitigate Agony damage is by building up resistance through Infusions, a new type of upgrade component that can be acquired in the Mystic Forge.”

“Here’s what we believe: If someone wants to play for a thousand hours to get an item that is so rare that other players can’t realistically acquire it, that rare item should be differentiated by its visual appearance and rarity alone, not by being more powerful than everything else in the game. Otherwise, your MMO becomes all about grinding to get the best gear. We don’t make grindy games — we leave the grind to other MMOs.”

New gear tier? Uh-oh..The news about this new patch made me kitten in meh pants but the moment after I read the Ascended Gear Blogpost, all my excitement for the new patch went down the drain.

Defend this new gear all you want, the fact that they are back flipping on their manifesto is still disappointing and disheartening for me. They are going for the gear treadmill route. And might I just add another quote which I am praying that they too will soon NOT HOLD ON TO:
The new additions in November are just the start of our item progression initiative. We’re going to add tons of new high-level content to Guild Wars 2 in the future. As we introduce the new high-level content, we’ll also roll out complimentary Ascended and Legendary items (to say nothing of the other rewards you can earn by playing the content)."

@Bones well, there are no rules in choosing who you want to group with or forming a party for that matter. to each his own. the ultimatum of my post is just to express how i felt being kicked out because of level discrimination. and as i have suggested, and some others did, it would be prudent for the non-80 characters to just form a party with other non-80s and ignore the max level players who are looking for speed runs. it’s just sad in my opinion that other people exclude themselves just for doing speed runs and not doing the event for just the sake of having fun or meeting new people. well, i’m gonna say it again: to each his own.

later. It doesn’t care that I’m there.”
This is some sort of a rant/QQ post but I need to express how I feel.
All of the events for this Halloween were wicked! I had so much fun doing almost all of it (even though I’m still trying to beat the Clocktower. haha) But when it came to the most recent act, the dungeon in Lion’s Arch, I can’t help but feel very very unwanted by most people looking for strictly level 80 for parties. I mean, I know every minute counts so most of these pathetic dudes want to farm as fast as they can to loot exotics so they wanted maxed stats/gears on all party members and all. And not having a level 80 toon kind of sucks even though Anet made it so even a level 2 can enter the dungeon.
I don’t have any solution to this other than forming a group with fellow non-level 80 toons. But man, these people kicking me out of groups because I am NOT level 80 just kind of spoils the fun for me and maybe for other non-level 80 players, too.
I fear that this may also be the case in other non-event dungeons like COF, etc. but good thing I’ve decided not to do those dungeons yet and explore the rest of the game til I reach level 80. It’s just sad that for this limited time event, I don’t get to enjoy it as much if only I had a level 80 character, but well, the blame is on me for not rushing everything in the first place. Guess I’ll have to post the “LFG MK level 80” on the map chat next year. :/

+1. The improvement on the downed abilities of the Ele is Godsend but the bug that the mist form creates when used is kinda annoying. Instead of seeing the skills that downed the Ele, what would pop out on the Death Breakdown would be as if the Ele died because of Vapor Form.
And one more thing is that sort of tracker for who killed who on the right side of the screen (in PVP of course) is also messed up by the Vapor Form.
Instead of:
(Name of Enemy Player Here) <Insert Skill Icon that Killed Me> (My Name)
what I would see is this:
(My Name) <Vapor Form Icon> (My Name)
which is just silly.

So after thinking about it for some time, I feel that the solution is very simple.
Second, node defenders should get a static +5 glory for every 30-45 sec they spend inside a node. This will help to keep entire teams from zerging around, while not giving a huge advantage to defenders.
what if i enter a map without anyone in it? and then capped all points. and then sat on one point until my team reaches 500 points. or worse, i only cap one point and sat there for as long as i’d like, waiting for my glory to pile up?

So is there a need to hurry and get lots of Glory? I highly doubt they will keep it up until rank 100+.
No, although Glory is only for cosmetic/ Barbie Doll-ing a toon and nothing more, it is still kind of unfair don’t you think? Ironic in a way because OP won the match, but still got way less glory points than the Zerging team.
Which should make us or the devs think that there is something broken with the how the match points/glory points relate with each other in terms of winning the match, killing players, or doing map objectives.
