I saved up a bunch of candy corn hoping the price will jump after christmas.

If you checked the prices of the mats recently, you would notice it has gone up. However, the Item crafted still remains the same price.
Yes I have noticed that, and for saw that it was due to RMT trading. Even before the initial spike tho, it was the same way. Most of the time it’s more worthwhile to sell your mats rather than craft them and sell your goods. It’s a sucky system.
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
So I’ve been buying and selling in various crafts and have found that it’s either hard to make a decent profit, or that very few items are profitable. Now I’m not saying that you can’t make a profit off majority of items from buying in the auction house and selling them back as goods. I’m just saying that a lot of things aren’t worthwhile to craft. For example, buying the materials to craft a specific gem only to make a few silver; if someone doesn’t undercut your price to oblivion in the process. On another note selling a satchel a week to make a 10g profit is worthwhile, because people aren’t making a lot of them, as well as people aren’t buying a lot of them.
My point and question is… Will products that are easier to craft or less desirable ever be tweaked to be more desirable by the consumers or harder to obtain? Since the TP is a free market, that means the products sold has to be something needed, and somewhat hard to obtain. Is this current setup meant to force people to buy gems to trade for gold to make any real profits.
I’m asking, because I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars in gems, just to make gold. Before anyone goes crying like the usual GW2 troll; I make roughly around 10-15g a week, so it’s not like I’m hurting for cash that bad anyway. I just like playing a market, and feel that it’s lacking and only leaves 15-20% of products to a good profit margin.

You’re complaining that the dungeon is chaotic and hard
I never said that, but thanx for your input.
Moreso than someone who ran just one dungeon, got angry and made a complaint thread? Yes
Never did or said that either, learn to read before posting please!

Events like the ones in Cursed Shore, like the Phlinx chain specifically don’t scale properly to how many people are doing the event. For example during the event chain, level 84 mobs spawn and when there is so many people like Eles and Thieves around; it’s hard for melee to hit them and get credit because they die to fast. They need to scale better so everyone can hit them and get credit for the event; I don’t want to get a bronze for almost every event because I can’t hit a mob. This isn’t rocket science here.
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
Are you kidding me… The dungeons are already Fisher Price ages 3-5 mode. If it was any easier you would just zone in, loot a chest, and then leave.
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
“This thread has a lot of trolls lol!”
I only count 1…
So your bad at math… Thanx for the info!
Anyway, I did Arah path 3 last night Explorer mode and it was terrible. For the first boss we pretty much stood on the spiked ball on the siding and kill the first boss, which I’m pretty sure is considered exploiting because he can’t hit you; but everyone assured me it wasn’t. After he was downed we killed the other guy with the Devastating Hammer Bash. Was so easy a 3 year could dodge his attacks. Looted the chest and nothing useful in there.
The second boss was easy to get too, we just ran past everything, did some shortcut stuff and we were there. It was a mage type boss that didn’t really do anything devastating, It died without even trying and the chest again had nothing in it useful.
I got an Abyss Dye off a mob on the way to the 3rd boss, making the dungeon somewhat worth while at this point. We only had to kill a few mobs to get to him. This boss was easy. Just stack on p1 and kill the worms and maggots, p2 just range and dodge his AoE’s, p3 was no problem unless you got trapped in his melee attack that knocks you down if you try to leave the area. Other than that another Fisher Price moment brought to you by Anet. On top of that if you die you can just keep running back which just ruins any kind of challenge. Again he dropped another chest with nothing useful in it.
Getting to the last boss was not a problem, we just ran past everything again and easy enough we were there. The last boss was just lame. Just sit in the circles until the bar fills up and the ritual phase is over, and then spank the boss down. Again nothing useful in the chest.
So in conclusion this took no skill to do whatsoever, and nothing useful drops out of the dungeons besides the Abyss Dye that I could of gotten anywhere.
It was easy to see how everyone’s tinfoil hat theories on threat could be easily dis-proven. I don’t see Guild Wars 2 making it far in the PvE division without any real end game content. PvP isn’t doing to good at this point either.

Anet tweaks the way culling works virtually every patch and have been doing so since release, though the notes contain nothing about it. I began playing in September and culling in WvW has only gotten worse with the tweaks made to it since then. Most of my friends agree. I’m skeptical the 15th will really offer a ‘fix,’ as it will be at best an ‘optimization’ as culling is a design problem, not a bug.
Please cite your source.

Nope. Thieves can still perma stealth and attack.
It’s the next patch which is supposed to be on the 15th.

From what he said it looks like it’s just a fix for Thief rendering and not the rendering issue altogether. I guess we’ll see tho.

Your ignorance presents a golden opportunity for you to learn something today: it’s "should have,’ not “should of.”
Whatever helps you feel better about yourself… Would still love to see this source of information that states Anet plans to fix the clipping issue.

Well IoJ has bad guilds like Team Legacy that don’t help the problem. I’ve noticed ever since they transferred to IoJ you guys starting falling in the bracket. Any server they go to dies because Freelancer tries to control everything pushing people away. It won’t be long before they transfer servers again, and I’m sure whatever server they transfer too; it will suffer from TL as well.
It’s nice to see that TL has been falling apart tho, many members have left and what remains are just poor quality people. Hopefully this continues until the TL plague is finally wiped off the map.
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
We all know it’s a problem and needs to be fixed… Welcome to Fisher Price Wv3!

After seeing how Wv3 is better with the orbs taken out. We shouldn’t stop short and fix other annoyances. When can we expect a short term fix for Thieves per-ma-stealth. Prolonging the debuff or shortening the stealth time is a nice short term fix until the clipping issue can be fixed.
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
They don’t it has to do with other servers getting direct points from taking sentries or killing dolyaks.

I don’t really get how you can claim you have cracked the agro system and can claim that you are the person who can tutor other people about the mechanics if you haven’t even tried them…
You’re putting words in my mouth.
I just wanted to be part of a thread where the OP claims to have done one dungeon and then tells people how the game works.
Truly epic.
I think it’s funny that I know more about aggro mechanics then the people that supposedly run dungeons all the time… Reading, it’s really not that hard!

Aggro is random… Nuff said! if you wanna argue the facts and base everything off your own made up systems then knock yourself out. The problem is you have nothing supporting your claim because it doesn’t exist. If you want to keep trolling my thread, have fun with that too. What ever helps you feel better about yourself!

Gear doesn’t affect Threat Levels!
Actually it does. Some mobs/bosses target players with highest toughness. Fact.
Try doing a bit more than one lvl 35 story mode before spewing nonsense on the forums.
Try learning about how aggro tables work and take your own advice…
The aggro table of a hostile NPC changes dynamically depending on a number of factors, in order of importance
These are the factors:
closest target to them
who is dealing damage
top damage dealers
who is using a shield
A shield is the only factor of gear, toughness is not on the list.
Your trolling aside, is there any point to this thread other than you wanting to change GW2 back to safe and dumbed down tank&spank mechanics?
I haven’t trolled anyone, you guys are bringing arguments to the table and I’m disproving them with facts and logic. Try harder next time!
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
You need to understand what a factor is and how that applies to mathematical equations before you can understand why you are wrong. If it was always the closet person to hold aggro then A ) It wouldn’t be a factor, and B ) It wouldn’t have 4 other factors in the equation for calculating threat. It would be a simple function and switch threat accordingly. Meaning… Factors 2 and 3 can override factor 1, if factor 2 and 3 have a higher threat level over factor 1.
So… Factor ~ 2 & 3 > Factor 1 means that you being closer isn’t the final result of having the highest threat, and whomever holds Factor ~ 2 & 3 coefficients is the one holding aggro; which means you’re wrong. I highly doubt the equation for threat is this Linear, but there is no way you’re going to understand an explanation of calculus equations; which is probably what the threat equation is to keep it random.
In conclusion since threat is generated randomly using a different number of factors; the statement holds true that you pulling a mob close to you doesn’t guarantee you will get aggro. Making your statement false of using the number 5 skill as a way to manage threat.
Wow… Now I’m teaching Math and Guild Wars 2 mechanics, would like to learn anything else? I know a lot about physics too if you want to dabble in that field of study…?
I’m not understand how you’re not getting this when it’s pretty linear?
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
Excuse me for being blunt, but it’s sad how stupid people are on the forums. If you notice in the picture majority of the makeup are Thieves. We know sPvP is broken especially hot join. I’m sure they’re working on it, in fact I’ve heard Anet is trying to make it Moba style game play.
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
I know for a fact that if i use skill 5 on the gs 95% of the time agro resets to myself or one other the people right by me who normally dodge out and leave me with agro.
It’s not… You over extended and took a damaging critical to the face! Now you’re trying to defend yourself, but find you are all out of cool downs and CC! Life is slowing slipping away from you! Just let the Life Blood flow from your wounds and slip back into the shadows from which you came.
Just accept the fact you made a failed statement, and someone more knowledgeable of the facts corrected you and made the community wiser. Thank you for your time, and if you want to learn anything else about Guild Wars 2 feel free to send me a PM.

I’ve held many many boss Aggros from start to finish several dozen times now for my guildies and I didn’t have to do anything besides change my Gear. It automatically locks onto me as soon as I step in range and I tank them without issue.
Gear doesn’t affect Threat Levels!
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
(edited by Gankfest.4965)
Now looking at skill 5 that pulls the mobs to the guardian. Now anyone whos actually checked on how agro is determined knows that a VERY large part of it is determined on who is infact closest to the mob.
No it’s not, you pull them toward you and they can run back and start attacking whomever was originally attacking or whomever has the highest amount of threat at the time. Distance is only a factor, but not the deciding factor; making aggro random and no real mechanic to pull threat of someone onto you.
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
You have clearly never seen a decent guardian if you think mobs can not be tanked. I and a lot of the other guardian’s i know will face tank the mobs for around 80% of the time. I rarely ever die. 209 time’s over 429 hours. I’ve ran over 300 dungeon runs and tanked my way threw each and every one.
You can’t pull aggro which doesn’t make you a tank. I’m well aware of what Guardians can and can’t do, but thanx for your concern.

I decided to roll a Guardian and level up doing PvE instead of Wv3 this time and found some interesting stuff about dynamic events and its mechanics. First off, if you kill a few mobs you pretty much get a gold for doing the event which takes no effort at all to do. This is true for majority of the events and some you need to do a little extra work, but not much.
The problem with this I’ve found is that people will come into an event and hit a few mobs and just sit there and get the victory for the event as I slave away and do all the work. Even when I’m having trouble asking for help and barely surviving people are to busy being lazy to pitch in a helping hand. Socialism doesn’t work in real life nor in a game. This needs to be reworked to reward the productive and not the lazy.
Thanx!

Other than that, with a name like Gankfest, you sound like you should probably just stick to WoW for now.
I’m known all over the gaming community for my skill and aptitude in gaming since 2002. Mostly PvP but some PvE as well; just remember that when you go to sleep tonight.
Anyway WoW is full of unskilled trolls these days, it’s better suited for your demeanor.
When I first ran AC story as a lvl 30 something I never wanted to step foot into another dungeon in this game again.
This is what I did(AC Story Mode), it was late last night when I did it and I didn’t know which mode we did. I was waiting for my friend to log on to tell me which one we did because I didn’t know there was a difference(I just thought first time was story, and explorable was to just rerun it if you wanted too). I don’t really pay attention to those kind of things. Some friends wanted to run it and I was willing to try it out(We were all geared 80’s).
Like I said previously it wasn’t a matter of being to tough but a matter of being unorganized and linear. I’ll try some other ones sometime, but watching Youtube videos they all seem the same in dynamics. Maybe I’ll be surprised and enjoy explorable mode and if I do I’ll post back here and just say how I feel on that mode.
P.S. To the trolls…. Love the entertainment thanx!

The fact that the “holy trinity” is not necessary anymore may be disturbing but with a bit of organization, team play and coordination, dungeons are really doable and can bring you some fun.
The problem isn’t that I can’t do them or have a hard time with them. I just don’t find them challenging. I think everyone is taking what I say as I couldn’t do it, wiped, and now want to QQ on the forums about it, or that I don’t understand how to run a dungeon. That isn’t the case, I just don’t find it to be challenging or fun.
Personally for me I liked the researching part of raiding and dungeons in WoW… Looking up boss fights, finding and testing strategies, and raid and dungeon movements at specific times to counter different attacks(Tanks move boss here, DPS go here and kill this and then back on boss, Healers CC target and cleanse this ). It took coordination and organization to down a boss in WoW. I’m not saying GW2 needs to be like WoW, I’m just using it as a reference because everyone by now has heard, played, or seen WoW game play.
With that being said, I would just like to have challenging fights rather then walking in and spamming skills and then CC mobs and kiting them every time I get aggro. I played a Thief and anytime I took aggro I had to either use Disabling Shot(Single Mob aggro), or switch to Daggers and use Dancing Dagger(Multiple Aggro). I had full Toughness and Vitality Exotic Gear from Wv3 and Exotic Toughness/Vitality Accessory’s with Superior Rune of Divinity. I had a good supportive spec that I looked up on the Codex, so it wasn’t like we just rolled up in there and stared hitting stuff hoping for the best. Maybe it was playing a Thief and other classes are more fun to play in dungeons, but why should I be forced to play another class just to have a good time; even tho the other classes had to kite and CC as well(Besides the Bunker Guardian… He didn’t have to kite so much as everyone else :P).
If fights could be more dynamic, organized, and challenging without the Holy Trinity, then I would be happy with that. Personally seeing more raid like end game content would be nice, but I don’t see how any of that could work without a full time healer and tank.
I do a lot of Wv3 and sPvP and love this game as a whole, but I never do PvE and Dungeons because of what I said. I would like to do PvE and dungeons from time to time to take a break from PvP, but I just don’t find it fun due to the lack of challenge and organization.
But it’s just my opinion
Everyone is entitled to one, and thank you for taking the time to read my post and hope you don’t hold my criticism against me. :P

I don’t need to “prove” it to you. I have TA weapons/my brother who I always pug with has his entire TA set, and we have spares to gamble with.
Lol… So like having a bunch of causal dungeon gear which takes no skill to get is suppose to make someone an expert on the subject. I’m glad the world is always willing to lower the bar for the ladder; I enjoy the entertainment.
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
Now some people are just jumping to conclusions on failed assumptions. You can’t tank mobs and bosses, so you need to kite your aggro around or CC’ing your aggro and then kiting when your CC’s are on cool down, or just doing both at the same time(Mostly Cripple & Immobilized). The dungeons rely on constant CC and kiting; which makes it not fun since CC is such an over used mechanic. Figured this would get trolled anyway, I just posted this for Anet to see, for the rest whatever… Please stand there and take damage to the face and prove me wrong on the Kiting and CC… I would love to see you die!
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
Had to say it was just terrible… I knew when Anet said they didn’t want to follow the trend of the Holy Trinity it would be a disaster. Instead of it being a Healer, DPS, and Tank setup; it’s just a DPS setup with no coordination or organization. It’s a kite-fest and is just messy and not fun. I could not follow a working trend and try to do Physics without using math, but then it would be a disaster and I would get laughed at by my coworkers. Let’s rethink this, be smart, and go back to the working trend of having a Healer, Tank, and DPS setup… It’s been like that for a reason Since FFXI and EQ!
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
Or the thief could just.. not attack anyone, or stand near that guy. Its a really huge circle, you’d need a lot of people to ensure the entire circle is in a constant state of AoE.
You have to attack someone to trigger stealth from Cloak & Dagger, really doesn’t matter; it just needs to be fixed. I don’t see why people keep trying to validate it?
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
Everybody out of the circle! Put 1 guy in the circle, and AOE the crap outta that guy. Thief will die if he gets near, and visible if he doesn’t.
No… Dodge in >> Cloak and Dagger >> Dodge Out. No matter how you stack it, if the Thief is good, you won’t kill him in time before reinforcements arrive. Just remember this thread when people say GW2 is balanced and working as intended… D+e-r_p!
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
…unless none of those 30 people are competent
Yup I saw that… What’s your point? I should seriously get paid for all the explaining I have to do for the unequipped players of the forums.
With Clipping and Stealth, you can stealth in and out and not be seen. It’s a problem… Nuff said! The stealth debuff needs to be longer problem solved…
80 ~ Thief/Guardian
I’m just sick and tired of people complaining about simple mechanics in a game.
CC isn’t and never has been a simple mechanic. It actually is a huge part of the game. No one is complaining about anything, but just stating ideas from various PvP experience to make this game more balanced. This thread is about Wv3 anyway, really no point in arguing sPvP mechanics since it’s a known fact that it’s unbalanced.
GW2 has the potential to become a truly e-sport level competitive game (tPvP especially) but currently a lot of players will cry for nerfs and whatnot due to incompetence which I fear will ruin this game.
Not with broken mechanics it doesn’t and GW2 is still far away from being in the eSport level. Try sPvP you might actually see the issues with it.
They don’t want a player to be able to escape if a whole group blows all their CC CD’s on him/her and the opponent uses a skill that is working as intended to get away.
Arenanet supposedly might make sPvP Moba style game play, but then you would have to change how CC and classes work anyway. Really sPvP would have to be built separately from the rest of the game(PvE & Wv3). Moba style game play wouldn’t work in Wv3, it would be a disaster.
They want an absolute garantuee that if 2 people run into 1 person, the 2 always win.
Well… I have no problem 2v1 or even 3v1 geared players in Wv3. I do it all the time and come out on top. Even have people message me all the time about what builds I run with, I’m a hacker and reported, or the occasional F—- You, if you weren’t <Insert Class Here> I would of killed you(Figure they’re from the WoW Community…). The argument isn’t about how amazing at PvP I am… But the fact there are some issues with Wv3, and would be nice if we could get some real answers on how these things will be fixed; rather then the same generic answers of “We know it’s a problem and want to fix it”. After a few months it gets kind of old. Anyway we’re arguing over spilled milk… I’m sure we can all agree that skill lag and clipping are the two most important issues and should be at the top of the list. There is nothing worse in PvP then trying to kill invisible players. :P

I was thinking the Sentry Points could use an overhaul as well. Right now their only good for seeing movement on the map. They really don’t serve any other purpose. It would be nice if they had their own type of upgrades and did more then stand there on the map. It would bring more life to Wv3 as a whole, maybe adding patrol unit upgrades or something.
