I agree w/ Wolfheart on staff. It’s my #1 WvW weapon. Usually I run hammer second for the great control options w/ decent damage and switch in other weapons temporarily as needed.

Yeah, but if you don’t have 60 gold right now, they’ll probably be more than that by the time you get it. Someone already bracketed the low end of the market with an order for 8. So expect the see them flipped and relisted for over a 100g like the jetpack soon.

Either way, no chance for a lot of people. But, they can grind all through the event and get ragged-looking ones. Work to be a have-not…

The dragon chest things (which are mostly candies) are dropping from regular PvE mobs in the world (and WvW for that matter).

Candy price will hit rock bottom in a day or two.

Same problem for a week. I can’t do dungeons. At all. Every party is plagued with bugs to the point that we just can’t run. Symptoms I’ve seen:

1) I join a party, but no player icons show on the screen (making me think I’m not in the party… except I can see party chat).

2) Attempt to enter dungeon = ‘Network Error’ (this has happened to me and other players.

3) A player joins my party, I see an icon for them, but their Class/Level are blank and they appear offline (even when they are chatting in /party). This is not just their visibility status – when someone manually chooses to appear offline their class/level still show in the party interface.

4) Randomly kicked out of dungeon instance (but still in party, usually). This has happened to just me, or to my entire party. Usually mid-fight. We’re just…. kicked, and everyone’s saying ‘wth happened?’ or ‘where did you go?’

I do. The most fun I’ve had in WvW is running my necro; excellent range and aoe control, decent dps (no spike damage though). I can absolutely trainwreck enemy groups with a full set of marks, some additional bleeds from scepter and epidemic.

And fighting guardians is hilarious; I just wait for ‘save yourselves’ then pop corrupt boon and they’re done.

Night capping isn’t a problem and it doesn’t need a solution.

I say this as a player on Anvil Rock where our keeps routinely get night capped by the other servers in our tier because we lack sufficient manpower/timezone coverage.

I am really surprised to hear all of this, truth be told.
I think it comes down to this: When I play a game, I want to play in a way I have the most fun. I find minions to be fun. I find Debuffing and supporting a team to be fun. In Guild Wars 1, sometimes I couldn’t do what I wanted because I needed corpses or fleshy enemies or high armor enemies.
So, I had to play a build I didn’t want to- I ran the Spiteful Spirit build or some other thing. Basically, I played something that was NOT fun in order to get back to a place I could start having fun again.
I love LOVE the new necromancer. I can summon minions whenever I want. Are there issues that need fixing? Sure. But almost all aspects of the game can be played the way that is most fun for me. Plus, my friends see me coming from a mile away with my small army of undead- no corpses necessary. And wells, oh my goodness, wells. Something I can place wherever I want that does damage and blinding or condition/boon removal so I can DPS and support my team at the same time? Yes please.
Thank you Arenanet, for finally giving me a game where I can play the classes I like in a way I enjoy all the time.

I’m more of this opinion. Having lots of highly situational abilities gets old very quickly. Unlike some GW2 classes, necros have a ton of viable builds that are effective and require totally different playstyles.

There’s lots of variety there. Is it the same? No. It may not be as versatile as GW1, but it isn’t as limited by situational mechanics either.

I’m all for buffing classes that need it, but it needs to be done differently. Invulnerable/stealthed captures are terrible design (for any class).

Suggestion: Reduce run speed if you are close to many other people. 10 or less you run normally, 10-30 you run at in-combat speed, >30 you walk.

This leaves massive keep/tower sieges as they are, but gives the defenders more time to fight back as the blob charges the lord room.

In the open field its no longer efficient to have the zergball move from camp to camp. Makes it better for smaller groups to do this while the zerg hits keeps.

Opens up the ability for solo/small groups to roam and escape the zerg.

Oh heck no. Movement is critical to giving a game that ‘action’ feel. It is one of the reasons I like this game better than Tera and others with that WoWish slow ‘MMO jog’.

Here’s a question that needs asking: why should having more people fighting on your side give you a disadvantage? You sound like you want strategic small group combat which we have… but it’s not WvW.

This is not the way to go.

Auto loot that works would be my first choice.

My second choice would be to separate the ‘loot’ key from the ‘interact’ key so I don’t keep rezing/repairing/grabbing banners/etc while trying to loot.

We did 4 in a row earlier this week and failed each one. This was with ~6 groups of five and most targets pre-scouted. We had Prisoner, 2-Mult and several of the more difficult pathers but killed them. Unfortunately we also had Big Mayana, Sotzz the Scallywag or Yanonka the Rat-Wrangler on every single hunt. In spite of having the appropriate zones flooded with people we weren’t able to find them. We had enough people, knew what we were doing and have done it before plenty of times.

Frustrating, because it comes down to luck.

Try this: ‘When in doubt, don’t exploit.’ It’s not like its hard to play the game exploit-free for fun and profit.

Edit: Tarnished Coast is still open. And my home server is bugged so the event chain can’t be completed. Obviously anet needs to look at this.

My main is a guardian and I’m putting some effort into 100% world completion. I have staff, but I’d like to keep my speed buffed as much as possible to save time. Are there good consumables/sigls/?/etc out there for this?

I’m still kind of noobish about the various stuff that’s available.

If you’re running Windows on the desktop, I’d check the services you have disabled. Turns out quite a few of the connectivity related ones are needed for BLTC. I posted a resolution to a different (but possibly related) issue here:

Of the Brisban Wildlands zone. Months ago I cleared all but one waypoint (Proxemics Lab). Today I went back and discovered that waypoint. Now my map shows 100% for the zone, but no rewards were granted. I did /bug it in game also.

Prioritizing a bug fix that doesn’t actually affect the TP usage at all over any fix in the game that does affect players would be irresponsible.

You’re correct that it doesn’t affect functionality and ‘omg-this-is-broken’ bugs should take precedence; however this issue does affect player usage/experience every time we open the TP. It contributes to general confusion for newer players and frustration/ misreading things for everyone.

I’m sure it also contributes to player perception that the game is ‘buggy’; after all, if you can’t open the TP without seeing tons of ‘bugs’ how much worse will the rest of the game be? That’s unfair of course, but in my experience customer perceptions are rarely fair.

This has been resolved, I’ll edit the top OP w/ solution.

Pressing a skill selects a new target if your current target can’t be attacked. Usually this happens to me when kiting because I’m facing away from my target and hit auto-attack… and suddenly have a different target. This can be disabled in Options, General, Combat/Movement, Autotargeting.

Not sure if that’s the issue you’re having or not.

[Edit:] OK, I think it’s not. I tried turning off autotargeting to see what would happen… and now I’m getting the exact behavior described above, including allies/pets being selected instead of enemies. Usually its when my mouse has been on/near them but I know I haven’t clicked. Very odd.

I am seeing an intermittent issue that shows tabs of the trading post as blank. The window opens/tabs switch correctly, but everything in them is empty space. This occurs on all tabs except pickup (where my purchased stuff is still there, and can be picked up. Sometimes logout to character selection/back in fixes the issue, other times I have been forced to entirely exit the game to get the TP to load correctly.

RESOLVED. Windows Service: DNS Client was on Manual; changed to Automatic; no further issues. I’m running Vista SP2 with as many junk/redundant services on Manual or outright Disabled; this is the first time that Service has caused issues on Manual.

I’ve played both, and deleted the human. They look ok standing still but I hated the moving animations. Asuran animations are hilariously cool and I get a kick out of them every time I play.

Just allowing a couple free transfers in the first month after a new account is activated would resolve most issues of this nature without opening the door to WvW imbalances.

It would be nice to have something better than “weak aoe spam = win”. Problem is: I’m not sure you could construct an algorithm like this and make it sophisticated enough to work right without impacting server speed.

I’d like a game option that lets us turn off dialogue that isn’t story related (cutscene/DEvent/etc). The random repeatable lines (player and npc) should be muted if we wish.

5 buttons. Is it that hard to get used to just 5 buttons?

It’s so that people can refer to “guardian greatsword #5” and it’s always in the same place.

And

It’s only 5 freaking buttons.

Do you really need to arrange the buttons so that when you weaponswap your gap closer is always on 2? Is it so hard to keep track of what weapon you’re currently using?

If it’s that hard, your mind is going to be blown when you play an elementalist.

That would work better if they didn’t change the guardian greatsword skill order several months after launch. And the skills are named. Is it so hard to learn skill names instead of referring to them as numbers?

I have a Logitech Mouse with many buttons which i use for the Keys 1-5

The problem is that when changing weapons skills i dont want on certain keys cant be changed.

If we could Move the Skills from 0-9 to other keys then i could use one Mouse/Keyboard setup.

I know these are skills chains but once opened all 5 let us swap them please included the Utilities and Elite skill

in Short all Hotkeys should be configurateable as i want them

It’s been suggested before. Particularly when certain skills were swapped on a single weapon. Hopefully this will be built into the Hero/Weapon Skill/etc panels eventually. All we would need is a simple drag-n-drop interface there to swap the order of things.

The Asuran starting zone has Rikkiti.

At one point during the event it was well over 1 gold for 100 gems (5 day high). Last night it was 62 (5 day average). Before the event rush something in the 50s was pretty normal.

The currency exchange screen has a graph with date/time and exchange rate over the past few days. You can use that to get a feel for how it changes over time.

Actually if they fix money/xp/karma/etc drops from downleveled content I’d be ok with new content at level 30.

If I don’t feel like doing hearts, I don’t do hearts. When I do, I do. If you approach this as ‘must grind X things’ it’s no wonder you hate it. Play what you feel will be fun to actually play instead of forcing yourself to do something you don’t like.

Increasing the level cap would add nothing of value to the game.
