This thread has gone so far off track with players using it as an excuse to get their own problems reiterated for the hundredth time.

Matchmaking doesn’t count pips past the end of legendary, so prestige count won’t affect queue times.

It was said already, but with an accurate or prestigious ladder you get people on each extreme with long queue times as the population to pull from is smaller. Queue times in unranked are never this bad because we expand the mmr search range quite far over time. We could do the equivalent expansion of the ladder search range, but there will be just as many (if not more) people then complaining about all the legendary players in their ruby matches.

To summarize the issues people have brought up:
An accurate ladder rewards skill at the cost of queue time.
Reducing queue time would require frustrating players with imbalanced matches (either by skill, or just visual ladder badge).
Making the ladder more about grind gets more players to legendary, but there is no prestige.

What would make legendary players happy to keep playing the game? Is it just quicker queue times? What if you could do other things while waiting? What if there was something other than leagues all together like unranked arena that legendary players could go to until more players make it to legendary?

The most infuriating thing about this was that I was watching other legends literally get 3 queue pops/games within the time I was sitting in my 50+ min queue. I don’t care how close to diamond players they were with regards to pip range that’s just kittened up. And I’m sure there is a way to get me a match without having to put me in a game with rubies. I doubt that’s even possible if I were to wait a full 2 hours in queue. What would be nice is just condensing whatever pip range expansion is done within a full 2 hour queue and maybe condensing it to 30 min.

I’m not looking for sympathy. This thread is about notifying Anet of a problem. I couldn’t care less if every single one of you disgusting forum warriors were on my side or not.

That’s the link for this weeks tourney which is, again, for EU.

It’s not even about there not being enough players, it’s about this stupid system thinking that prestige 2 players are too good to play with prestige 1 players.

So, I just hit prestige 2 … and now I’m practically forced to throw my games. The second I hit this garbage division my queue times have literally tripled. Anet, for the love of god, could you stop promoting unskilled garbage in your PvP. Anyone who plays well or plays a lot gets punished. Even at the start of the season the difference in queue times between low diamond and mid/high diamond was disgustingly large. This system is so mental.

I literally have to wait over 30 min in NA primetime watching other legends get matches within 10 min so that I can throw the game and get back into prestige 1 … well done.

2) stop taking years to balance obviously broken skills.
3) promote community driven tournies to EVERYONE.

Maybe one of us has to make a really cutesy and innocent reddit post (which is bound to get upvoted to the top regardless of it’s contents) about some of these community driven PvP tournies because I have a really high suspicion less than 2% of the people that play this game know they exist.

This info isn’t only relevant to PvPers. It would be nice if Anet made even a small attempt at attracting some new players to PvP through these community driven events via prize advertisement. I’m sure many PvE or WvW players could enjoy something like this as it’s so easy to join in on (only need to join as a solo or duo). But I guess PvP forum page is better than nothing.

Can you clean up my block list while you’re at it and remove all permabanned accounts from it? I’d rather not have a million gold seller accounts just sitting in there.

Not to mention at the developers conference this week ANet said they were “well aware that there are some frustrating matchups” and they hope to do something to alleviate that in Season 3.

As usual, the truth lies somewhere between the extremes of “everything is fine, it’s you that sucks” and “I am fine, it’s the matchmaking that sucks”.

You seem to be missing some key words here…

What they actually said is that the first week or so where low MMR players are getting slaughtered by high MMR players is the issue. The solution will probably be to give high ranked players some free division/tiers to help lower the number of blowouts in the first weeks. The matchup algorithm will probably be unchanged.

Because you can carry four other 4 with this meta? ?? Look last season, it was possible because each team had their share of bad; whereas this season low MMR players are grouped together and match against HIGH MMR players. I mean the outcome of that game is clear.

And also NEW account start with an average MMR, so someone who tried so hard to get to elegant last season MIGHT HAVE a LOWER MMR than a new player. Consequently, he will get matched with low MMR player while the new player has a better chance of having high MMR player on his side.

This stuff is self explanatory, all you have to do from here is connect the dots.

Look at you getting caught up in all the rioting; Making excuses for yourself, finding things to place blame on instead of just working on making yourself better at the game.

Guy, last season, players were able to reach diamond/legend without ever seeing a good player. It’s like there was multiple versions of each division for all levels of MMR. Just becasue people got to a higher division last season doesn’t mean they belong there.

He was stealth buffed.

Give me autoloot with masteries for WvW now, and add a secondary way to acquire the ability through WvW means only later.

3) Though I hate to see another Druid nerf considering so many other disgustingly broken things on other classes currently in the game, Signet of Stone should prevent point capture.

1) Celestial Avatar icon blocks my astral force and my stamina at the start of a match.

2) Projectiles fly miles over my head when connecting with staff 5. As a side note, I think staff 5 shouldn’t change anything about the projectiles trajectory. Currently, even if the projectiles aren’t miles over my characters head I practically have to catch the heals since they’re moving so slow.

Fixing one problem isn’t an excuse to leave another one alone.

When your own pvp community sets up tourneys and events funded by Anet to help keep the community interested and having fun, don’t hand out any of the rewards any of the participants won so they all lose a large portion of their motivation to give a kitten.

When you launch your game and one of the biggest streamers pulls in thousands upon thousands of viewers putting your game on the top of twitch’s viewer count, you permanently ban his account for taking advantage of developers mistakes. Literally using him to set an example.

Ok, so when you start a pro league tourney and put down $400k in rewards, instead of balancing the most disgusting meta you ever created, you leave it just as disgusting for months and let the entire esports viewing community literally spam living hatred in the very chat you’re trying to attract new players with.

Does it matter how fast a good player takes to get to where he’s suppose to be? Wth are you complaining about? He’s f’ing himself by giving himself hour+ long queues. Don’t worry your pretty little head about it.

Meanwhile the two top classes were still untouched. Anet wants faster paced meta but the first thing they nerf is damage.

Would have been nice if they gave us some free division or tier ranks depending on the position we were in last season (as they do in hearthstone… (as everyone has to keep referencing for good ideas since this game always has problems))

You don’t understand. D/F auramancer is elementalist in its most alienated state. It’s only a heal bot that keeps alive stronger classes. This has been known already; and it’s not the role true elementalist player wish to have.

This. It’s not about the strength of the class but a role a team needed to round out their comp while other professions would just add redundancy.

Ele is bad. It’s just that there was no need for other professions since 2 revs and a reaper is all the damage a team needed. No point taking a Daredevil or a Dragonhunter and Druids are mostly hybrid.
