Release your camera and movement control and your character will be able to adjust his/her skill cast direction properly.

This doesn’t work with many skills in the game such as rifle warrior or pistol engineer.

I forgot my question.

Okay, will the toggle for Action Camera also change my camera settings and other Action Camera related settings for me? If not, could they? Like two stored settings for whether Action Camera is on or off.

I feel like most people would want two completely different settings for whether Action Camera is on or off becasue having to change each setting individually when you wanted to swap between would suck.

Also, this is freakin amazing, Joel. Haven’t tried it yet but I feel like it could really change up how the combat in this game feels. Not that the original is bad but more options is awesome.

I actually can’t say I agree with these changes. While the change to Grace of the land are pretty good, the rest stated don’t really seem good at all. In fact, the celestial Avatar actually form adjustments are very intrusive looking compared to even necromancer, and I should know because I play both extensively.

Why do I feel this way? well, most people should have noticed that the generation for attacks are now 3/4ths % and 1½% for healing. In all honesty, I feel that this along with the requirement to get full celestial AND THEN have a CD for 10 seconds exiting is actually worth less than the addition of being able to keep some astral. As is, this is very steep requirements, with very low generation across the board considering that ranger is not a class that has other generation methods outside these like necromancer does with utilities and high percentage attacks. Because of this, I feel that the CD needs to be removed along with upping the attack generation further.

The nerf to lingering light is also pretty rough, as it was a very strong generation tool, but now this further nerfs the celestial form capabilities and makes it into a ‘only combat’ skill that cant really be used easily on other healers in your party since its not always a time they will be attacking, making the ICD rough.

All in all, I feel that the changes to this outweighs any good changes that could have been done to the avatar form and the traits so far. This doesnt even include that we know nothing of the staff, which generally felt completely horrendous outside Ancestral grace and was basically used only to access the form, which is now even harder to access and even more gated than before.

If your choice was to make celestial form intrusive, then the job is perfect, but if thats not what it was and it was in search of balance, then the old functionality actually is heavily preferred.

I’ve been saying the same things but the overwhelming amount of wrongful approval means it’s probably never going to change. Adding more gates to get into Celestial Form is just not good design. All it required was some adjustments to the Astral Force generation rates which was also already done. Throwing in a static and boring cooldown is clunky. And Lingering Light has become yet another skill-less passive which will now also cause blind to foes with not a clue as to how it was done. The interesting dynamic of it being used as a faster Astral Force generator is also trashed because of the Celestial Form cooldown. Overall a less interesting specialization with these changes.

Still has too much sustain for someone with a celestials amulet.

Celestial is literally the best amulet for ele sustain b/c they need vitality, toughness, and healing power to maximize survivability. On top of that, eles take 7-8 traits out of 9, runes, 1 or 2 sigils, and all their utilities to maximize defense. It should sustain in those situations.

Fine, they still do too much damage for how much they put into sustain then.

I’m am just going to chime in on my pure displeasure at the Grand master Lingering Light Change. Both Aesthetically and Mechanically I adored said trait. This new version has me worried. We know its going to have a very long cool down and we also know blind is not the most potent condition(and yet consistently is very hard to apply), and we in essence just lost a big tool for healing our Allies who are ranged-Consistently. In one swoop my favorite trait in the game is gone…Can I at least request that you leave the healing wisp around the effected allies? I’m going to miss my Wisp Friend on my own character, I even had a name for it. It was Wispy, and now I have to bury my best friend….

As good as the new trait is, it’s completely passive now taking away yet another interesting dynamic of playing a Lingering Light druid. Previously, it was not only more satisfying but more skillful to use. It should have been buffed in its previous form.

It works exactly how lifeforce/shroud works now. I don’t see a problem with this at all, I do think the 10s change when they do let us keep 1/2 our remaining bar left a bit off, but eh.

This is not a good thing. We want a distinct transform from Necromancers. Not a crapper healer version. Keep homogenizing and you might as well be playing the better version, Reaper shroud.

no, this was completely necessary, random player. i had my celestial energy bar full at all time sduring BWE3. with no cooldown, i was almost perma avatar form, which made the “form” of it a completely pointless concept.

It’s terrible. They even added a cooldown to Celestial Form so it’s even harder to get to Lunar Impact as well. Two nerfs to this skill right off the bat and it was never even overpowered.

I actually liked the distinction between Celestial Form and Necro Shroud. I came to like that we had no cooldown but lose all Astral Force upon leaving the transform. There really was no reason to change this. It’s less about balance and more about an interesting gameplay mechanic and it was much more interesting previously.

Edit: And, instead of giving us more options while in Celestial Form to incentivize us to stay in it since Astral Force would deplete completely after leaving, they leave Celestial Form just as linear but let us keep half our Astral Force. Another bad decision.

I’d argue that immob is harder CC than daze. Immob stops movement and dodging unlike daze, but on top of that can also prevent skills from being used as your character can’t turn directions either.

Daze still allows the player to kite and dodge.

A healing class with high healing per match… Is there suppose to be a point here? They have no damage mitigation for themselves or for teammates. Their heals and dazes are literally the only things keeping them and teammates alive.

This thread is beyond pointless. There is no focus and whatever ridiculous argument trying to be made is based off of a couple of numbers from pictures.

As I said many times, I’ve played with MoC druid and they felt fairly balanced. A daze build can be strong but there are a myriad of soft and hard counters to keep it balanced.

Even now, all damage based druid builds are already being nerfed since base heals are being nerfed. You people need to stop freaking out over a 3 day long test and pushing a fun and useful specialization into dirt before it even comes out.

That’s not it. It really is just because these tourneys have so little exposure. I myself didn’t even know about pugquest until that “disconnect” thread popped up, and even then it didn’t even give a link to the tourney itself. It made no mention of people still being able to join or participate. Complete oversight.

I doubt they’re going to make 1200 healing power equal to the base heals of BWE3 like some people are freaking out about. I actually think maybe 600 healing power will bring us back to previous base heals. 1200 will get us past base heals. Or something like that.

I’ve been fighting with myself over whether I would stick with necro as main or switch to ranger. I ended up letting the elite specializations decide, and as good as reaper is, druid is still fighting for my attention.

Anyways, with a few much needed quality of life changes for druid (like something that makes celestial 1 less annoying or letting us use weapon swap to leave celestial) they’re shaping up amazingly in my opinion.

Edit: though I haven’t tried PvE with it. Maybe they could make the healing floaters more interesting and flashy? … :s

There’s nothing wrong with a druid being able to perma daze if they spec to perma daze. It allows the ranger to have a completely unique playstyle from any other class, and that’s all the build is even capable of doing. Nobody in their right mind will allow it to happen against them as it’s going to become the most predicable skill in the entire game, and even if enemies get hit by it without a stunbreak they’re still able to kite and dodge. People are overestimating the capabilities of this absurdly.

I’ve played it in high MMR all weekend and it’s basically the only defense I had as a druid giving me time to either heal or cast Natural Convergence. Even then, it wasn’t uncommon for it to be dodged, blocked, or blinded leaving me extremely vulnerable. It was a well balanced trade off and nerfing this is just going to break the build entirely forcing druids to spec into something more reliable. Marksmanship would have no place in a druid build.

Just because a class is capable of doing something doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed to happen. If this were true burn guards and pu mesmers would insta-kill every single person they see. People will adapt and the build will still hopefully have a place. That’s if it’s given it’s deserved time.

It’s just ridiculous that people want to prematurely nerf things before they even have the chance to shine. Druids were in a decent place last BWE and nerfing this is uncalled for. If after launch this becomes the sole reason Druids are dominating matches (which isn’t going to happen) then you can nerf it.

MoC on Druids is not OP. I’ve been playing with this build the whole weekend and the build actually felt decently balanced. Second, MoC is garbage on base Ranger. It actually has use now with Druid.

This is literally the best thing Druids have to offer and if you take this away they will become nothing more than healbots with 0 stability.

I can’t believe people have so much trouble with condis. I played against condi engis, condi mesmers, condi rangers, condi guardians, condi necros, and condi warrior in high MMR. Not a single one of these did I ever feel was too overpowered. Maybe it’s because I know exactly how to avoid most of their damage, and if this is the case maybe you should learn how they work too before coming on the forums.

Druids can already have 3 separate entangles. If an enemy doesn’t have a way to get out of it, which is more often than you think, they are going to get destroyed.

Yeah, these people are asking for some crazy OP stuff. Entangle and Ancient Seeds are both already extremely strong. It shouldn’t follow, it shouldn’t trigger with conditions, and it shouldn’t be per target. Any of these would make it ridiculously overpowered.

Astral force is not the same as Life force. We shouldn’t be expecting them to follow the same rules when their transforms don’t either. AF being full at the start of a match could defenitely be intentional.

It’s basically the same thing as calling the Astral force depletion after leaving Celestial form a bug. It’s not a bug, they’re two different mechanics. There are ups and downs to each one.

Am I crazy or do they look like they’re not chasing after invisible characters anymore? The character will continue to shoot at the position the invisible character was last then shoot towards them again once they’re revealed.

Anet can’t fit a whole WoW class into one traitline and 15 skills. Druids are good at control and healing. To expect more is ridiculous. It can offer a few more offensive options through Celestial form to give it meaning when healing isn’t necessary at that moment, which has been Irenio’s intention since before the Druid preview at Twitchcon, but that’s it.

If this game needed healers, it’d need Druids. Do you think that’s what Anet wants? No, they want players to play what they want. Druids may not be mandatory but they’re a fun and different way to play just like 80% of the builds in this game. Anet can make Druids more desirable but they’re never going to make them a requirement so stop thinking that’s what they’re suppose to be.

People seem to think Reaper has both DPS and tankiness when in reality it’s just one or the other. If a Reaper bursts you down quickly I guarantee you they will die fast.

Druids actually have extremely good control between Ancient Seeds(?) and their dazes (especially when traited). Hopefully they don’t get nerfed because control and heals is what Druids are best at.

If you want to focus on being the top offense then you probably shouldn’t be selecting the Druid specialization.

Alot of people aren’t going to like this but honestly, I love it. These specializations shouldn’t be capable of being the best at every role.
