You think you got nerfed… Lol
Not only did you guys not get nerfed like you were suppose to, you got kittenin buffs. God know what Anet was thinking
This is my favorite armor for Charr right now without the absurd helm.
http://www.gw2armor.com/charr/male/named/heavy/display_looks.php
The less armor Charr wear, the better they look.
I think Charr armor needs to be redone. This is honestly the biggest problem with them right now and also why they’re the least played race. It’s sad because theoretically Charr are my favorite race but I’m so reluctant to play them because I will never get one to look good. =(
I would like if turrets had a BIG increase in fire-rate as well. They could lower the damage to compensate. No matter how much damage something does, if it has a slow fire-rate, I feel like it’s useless.
I also think their traits are an issue. I tried many other builds besides bombs and grenades and it seemed like it was impossible to make an effective one.
The short version: Engineers can be just as good as any other profession overall, but be ready for the very disproportionately high skill level required to achieve the same level results other professions can get much more easily.
not at all
each profession is diff, engi is more complicated and hard to get a grasp around but also is more fun and rewarding than most classes, and just because they r hard doesnt make them bad, just means you can become that much better
Difference of opinion. I don’t feel like Engineers are the funnest class at all. Their awkward playstyle and bad utility skills prevent me from liking them as much as other professions.
Oh of course. As long as it’s “just fine” we shouldn’t be make suggestions…
I don’t know if this has been suggested before but it would be amazing if Engineers and Elementalists could store secondaries and be able to swap weapons only when they’re not in combat.
Right now they have to go into the inventory to swap their weapons (which they do do), so you might as well just make it more convenient, right?
I don’t blame Anet for not having done much in terms of profession balance seeing as how busy they are with other things but I do believe they will get to it and make things right for each profession.
Right now I think they’re just relieved there isn’t anything really gamebreaking in the game – although I’d argue Thief invisibility is absurd at the moment.

I didn’t even know that about Elixir U. I did notice it last much shorter than 5 seconds sometimes but to think that was intentional… what the kitten?
The point is, THEY ARE BAD even when taking into consideration what ever it is they do good. Stop settling for garbage. I’m trying to make the profession better for everyone else. If you’re ok with the Engineer, just get off the forums and let the people who have constructive feedback for Anet handle it.
You just told me what the skills do. That doesn’t stop the skills from being bad.
Toss Elixir U: The 3 effects if randomizes between are actually very good but the fact that it randomizes is what makes the skill horrible. You have projectile reflect, invisibility for allies, or blind for foes. In each case, it needs to be positioned in a different spot. So… it sucks.
Personal Battering Ram: There nothing special about this skill. It has incredibly short range and very long cooldown.
Rocket Boots: Having to be stuck on the ground for about 2 seconds to stand back up is annoying as kitten.
Super Speed: I’m pretty sure it doesn’t make you “Run at double speed.”
Throw Mine: It’s just horrible. Very long flight time for a small radius and damage. unreliable to be used to reposition enemies in your favor.
Utility Goggles: Since when has blindness been such an issue that we need 10 second immunity from it?
Jump Shot: Would like if this skill could be used to gain some distance. As it is right now the animation on the launch and landing takes too long. Also, I’m pretty sure this skill is not effected by quickness…
I would also argue that a lot of the other randomized skills should be changed as well such as Toss Elixir H, Toss Elixir B, and Toss Elixir S
Does anyone know what that symbol around skill 1 grenade kits it? It looks like the skill is an auto-attack skill but at the top is a little lock?
I think I actually saw someone with the staff a couple weeks ago in WvW (JQ server). I didn’t know how significant it was back then but it certainly isn’t the prettiest staff. I just hope it doesn’t look stupid on necros when they use it.

8/10 on Ghost Ripshroud, I’m not a fan of the word Ghost in a name but Ripshroud is cool and unique which is what I like most in a name.
I’m actually the guy that took Lightbringer Tybalt, Charr Ranger. I know Tybalt was a Engineer but I already had an Engineer. Besides, this way I was able to call my bear pet Leftpaw to get the full name in there. =)
EDIT: Cute story by the way.
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
The way I target enemies while in WvW is just pressing tab and letting the game select the closest target for me so I’m not trying to attack people out of range (while in a zerg battle). The only time I select people individually is if I’m on the outside of the zerg looking to kill other people who stray to far from their zerg, but even then I’m not thinking about the race, it’s whoever closest.
Sylvari – Male – Necromancer
Human – Male – Mesmer
Human – Male – Engineer
Asura – Male – Guardian
Charr – Male – Ranger
It has nothing to do with the playstyle. I can adapt to any class as needed to play them effectively. The problem is how specific a mesmer build must be in order for them to become effective. It doesn’t help that their weapon skills are unpolished and that they rely heavily on trait effects.
Some people in here may think that their mesmer build is perfectly fine when in reality it’s terrible. The same can be said about any profession but I think it holds true especially for mesmers.
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
Well then Mesmer isn’t for you.
Same way Thief is not for me. But why you took 80 levels to realize that is weird. Not every class is for everyone.
I love dual-Swords, for example. Apart from the style – which is awesome, especially being an Asura – the sheer idea of dual-wielding melee weapons as a clothie, and that actually being the more defensive setup… perfect!
I didn’t feel like giving up on the class, but when I reach level 80 and I’m still having trouble finding weapon sets I’m happy with then there’s a problem. I recently found one I’m somewhat content with. Greatsword/staff – 30, 0, 20, 0, 20 – full berserkers. I think it’s kitten that mesmers have to get within melee distance to be able to pull off any decent damage especially considering that the sword skills themselves are crap. I had to come up with something that could pull off decent damage without using a sword. Let me tell you, it’s not easy.
The AoE provided is nice as well.
I main a necromancer and I just finished leveling a mesmer to 80 a couple days ago. In my opinion, mesmers are garbage compared to necromancers and I feel it’s because of their weapons. I just can’t find a weapon on mesmers that I’m happy with. They’re all bad… They at least have room for improvement.
For people who have only played mesmers, it wouldn’t be so easy to see an issue.
Greatsword: The phantasm is the only good damage that comes out of this weapon. Everything else including skill 1- at all ranges – does pathetic damage.
Staff: Decent damage but too defensive. Skill 2 forces player to port away and skill 1 projectile speed is too slow.
Scepter: Skill 1 attack rate is too slow and weak. Skill 2 and 3 are good. No AoE on this thing making it horrible for PvE. EDIT: Skill 3 cast startup is too long.
Sword: Forces player to get up close to do any damage. Skill 2 is too slow and the range is pathetic.
Sword off-hand: It’s just crap…
Torch: Skill 4 is good, skill 5 is trash.
Pistol: Decent damage to single target…
Focus: Skill 4 is only good for PvP and skill 5 is only good for PvE. It’s a horrible weapon. I feel the only reason people use it is for the swiftness because that’s the only mobility mesmers have besides blink. Mesmers who don’t want to use focus – I don’t blame them – are forced to get rune of the centaur.
I think mesmers need some serious changes to their weapons.
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
Made this character mostly to get this armor. =D
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
The drop rate of rares and exotics is disturbingly low. I don’t remember the last time I got an exotic drop. Most the exotics I ever gotten were from map completions.
Lets all just agree that the only good weapons Mesmers have are staff and greatsword.
skill 3 is amazing… but that’s it. Even then it’s horrible in PvE.
Right now I have no clue what medium armor to get my Charr. The problem with medium armor is that it looks bad on all races, then combine that with the Charr it just becomes impossible. I went to the PvP locker and liked the Stalwarts armor on him without that disgusting hat but apparently it’s PvP armor only… :/
Charr have a problem with all armors to be honest. Most likely the reason we see so few Charr in the first place. If we can’t get good looking armor on a Charr then don’t expect to see much Charr out there… Anet…
Why do mesmer clones do 0 damage? I’m a level 30 staff mesmer with 10 in chaos and 10 in illusions but 0 damage? Really?! Even in WvW where my character is buffed to 80 they still pull off 0-5 damage.
Can all insignias for armor be craftable? I find it really irritating – in some cases – wanting to have certain stats on certain armor would require the player to get two sets of dungeon armor (one for cosmetics and one for stats). I think that’s just too much to ask of the player if they are looking to get the stats they want on the armor they want. I realized this issue recently while trying to replicate my PvP character in PvE. I have CoF armor and I want to get “rabids” stats on it but I’m being forced to get CM, TA, HotW, or Arah armor and transmutate it.
It’s much worse in my case because I can’t even craft rabids. I would be happy if I could craft rabids but I have to go through the trouble of getting a whole other dungeon set just for it’s stats. It makes no sense…
Really though, is this the only option I have? A whole other dungeon set just for its stats?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rabid#Triple_attribute
Why did Anet make it so difficult to get the stats you want on the armor you want?
I need help understanding something. The only way to get rabid armor stats on my Citadel of Flame armor is by transmuting CM, TA, HotW, or Arah armor with the rabid stats?!
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
Charr look so freaking stupid in the med armor, it is not funny.
This is a problem.
Next class is going to be the Shamans and the race will be TENGU!
Is there a chance of new Legendaries anytime soon?
It can be good, but you have to work twice as hard as you would when playing other professions.
I have no idea why people say this. I think they Engineer is far more difficult to use than Necromancers because of the sheer amount of awkward skills they have. Necros are quite simple in my opinion. Also part of the reason I think Engineers need more help than Necros. Their skills need more refinement/polish. To much just doesn’t make sense.
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
Why don’t dungeons work similarly to sPvP matches? People can just go up to an NPC near the dungeon and get matched up with other players from all servers. There could be filters for the certain difficulty and path the players want and get matched up with other players that are looking for the same thing.
I would actually like if they could clean out inactive players from servers so that there wouldn’t be servers with high population and thousands of inactive players. There are servers that have high population when in reality are just completely dead.
Yes invisible bag does work but the idea of a mini slot on the hero panel has been raised before and I am all for that. I never bother with minis because I value inventory space over minis. A mini slot would be the best idea to please everyone as it is there, if you don’t want to use a mini you don’t have to and it doesn’t take up a slot.
If they implement something like this I would also like it for tonics as well. Although (I believe) that would interfere with Anets plan on having tonics waste bank space so people buy more space using gems…
Can I expect all surrounding bots to be banned if I may have missed reporting a few?
I have rarely had a minipet out in the game since launch and when I say rarely I mean 2-3 minutes out of about 250+ hours played. The reason is because I realized depositing collectables also deposits the minipets. I need to deposit and I doubt anyone is going through the trouble of getting the minipet back out of the bank.
If you doing a condition build (which is most people), scepter/dagger main is evident. Saying that staff is better is some outrageous kitten.
I can definitely see Engineers doing some melee, they even have tool kits for it. Why not give them a weapon that can do it?
It depends on your server….
I find it weird that there are barely any titles for PvE in general while PvP has titles shooting out it’s kitten
The Clocktower is extremely fun. I been playing it a lot at first just because it was so fun than I started grinding the kitten out of it for ToTs. I probably beat it about 65+ times.

I really want a better looking wrench at the very least. The one we have now is so puny.
