From what I understand, with the ladder system, someone like me who likes to play sPvP every now and then will end up having nothing to show for it. Only the players who stick to sPvP throughout the seasons will be rewarded, and only for that season at that… This whole thing sounds horrible.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up pushing people like me out of sPvP all together rather than pulling them in each season as Anet is hoping for.
Maybe I’m not understanding this fully but is anyone else upset that they’re removing ranks and the with them the finishers? They didn’t even give a reason for it… Where are we suppose to get our sense of pride and progression?
Everything I read besides this and the fact that we aren’t going to be able to convert glory to gold was good though.
I can honestly say I’m not that big a fan of all the fractals changes either. So much of it has become a nuisance.
It’s not like any mechanics are going to be changed. The professions are still going to play the same it’s just that they’re getting some sizable balance changes that will effect alot of builds.
When I heard that Anet had made changes to the dredge fractal, I thought it was understandable. Take out the exploits that allowed players to skip any of the content. But then I saw the champion dredge room and noticed that they even changed the pipe terrain and I eff’n lost it. Why the hell would they screw us over on a simple trick used all over the game (LoS)? Smart players using their environment to help defeat some enemies and they actually thought they should waste time and money TO “FIX” IT?! It was such a scumbag move in my opinion. Can’t wait to see how else they diseased fractals with their update.
She was a cute and interesting character when she was first introduced, and only then. She’s overstayed her welcome enormously. Now every time I see her I just roll my eyes and try to finish the meta achievement.
This game desperately needs a real villain with a real threat. Enough with the childish garbage.

Honestly I don’t think that is the case. I don’t drool over my female toons. I just think they look more interesting than male toons. Their hair and armors look better. To me what they equip just seems to flow better than male toons. Male toons no matter what armor look generic and boring. I really think Anet should put a bit more work into the appearance of male toons. Maybe then you would see more.
I actually feel the opposite way. Males have the more interesting armor and females look generic and boring.

I figured mantras could have no cast. Instead, they passively gain charges up to a max of 2 (or 3 when traited). The player could use the skill as normal and whenever the skill doesn’t have max charges it would automatically begin it’s cooldown to gain a charge and continuously do this until it reaches max charges again. There isn’t anything in the game that works like this currently so mantras functionality would remain unique while also becoming globally useful as well as fun.

My main motivation for leveling my alts in all honest is to dress them up. I love going to the pvp locker and mixing armor sets until I find something I love (although it can be very hard sometimes). Now that they’re all level 80 and mostly all pimped out I just play whichever ones gameplay I crave the most. Currently craving thief coming off necro. 
I try not to make any of them my main and give them all equality. My necro is map completion, engi is commander, ranger is legendary… Etc.
They do so much work to differentiate male and female armor yet the can’t even get the ONE set of armor that asura/charr male/female characters wear to look good. I can’t understand these people. The logic is disturbing and kittened up.
Add more dynamic events that contest waypoints and we can justify adding mounts into the game. 
No wait… I can only imagine the horrible bugs and clipping that would be involved. Just look at charr…
And will they ever try downsizing the shoulder armor? I don’t get them being so enormous. It’s like they want charr to look goofy.
It never ends.. You think there’s hope when all the ascended armor accomodates for the tail and then you see this.

Is this a surprise to you? BG and SoR doubled teamed JQ the first half of the week to make sure they were in third. JQ had a decision to make. Get over it.
The thirty-something golems we had yesterday and were forced to use 10 minutes before the patch (because we only had 10 minutes notice… thanks Anet).
Sylvari desperately need more cultural armor. Their armor style is miles different from the other races and if you wanted to stay within sylvari theme you would have so much less to choose from than the other races.
Charr are second on this boat.
Let’s see how the concept art comes out first before we say this would be amazing.

It’s just sad that it’s come down to this because of how the schedule turned out.
Despite the talk of 2 vs 1 against JQ, it does seem that every server is getting 2vs1ed at least in their home borderland. In fact BG is the only server that did not hold their bay or hills for more than 1 day…does that mean there are actually more 2vs1 against BG?:)
Hmmm, let me think about that for a sec…
JQ complaining of a 2v1 when SOR owned nothing on SORBL for quite some time yesterday. That doesn’t happen without a 2v1.
SORBL and JQBL were mirror images for a while, BG was the only beneficiary and compliments to them if it was orchestrated.
I was on JQBL during those hours SoR had nothing on their own BL. SoR was too busy stacking in JQBL and hitting our towers to take anything back.
I know you want to hear the rest of the story but you’re going to have to wait, sir. My imagination needs time to come up with all these elaborate schemes to keep the story interesting.
PS: It’s not my imagination.

- SoR accepts the invitation. They begin to gain a 9k point lead over JQ and only a 1k point lead over BG. BG then realizes they got what they needed of SoR and screws them over approximately 10.315 times. SoR still clueless to all the screwings they’ve undergone ignorantly continue to attack JQ. All of the sudden the weak and puny BG gains the lead over SoR.

A while back in an update I read there was a change to necro staff skill 5 animation. I’m not sure if this is a bug but the animation change is only in sPvP. I figured it should also be the same for WvW and PvE.

I don’t believe it. oPP doesn’t know what solo roaming is. All they do is use the current op build of the month and roam with other guildies who do the same.

I honestly feel horrible for tier 2. I know the whole point of these leagues and random matchups is to diminish the disparity between tiers but this season is going to suck for them, and tier 1s the one to complain.
“Oh no, we’re not going to be able to smash tier 2 in the face as much as the other tier 1 servers… Qqqqqqq” end scene.

Same thing happened last week. A BG mesmer sporting a fake MERC tag teleporting around hills in an omega golem. :/
I was too slow to get a picture of the golem actually clipping through the wall (even though it was happening alot) but you can see it hitting the very edge of the gate as well as damage floaters within the wall when I hit it with marks.
Meh… JQs been in tier 1 since launch while other servers fly in and out. If they don’t get first place after so much persistence then there’s no justice in this world.

I didn’t want to discuss specific balance changes but your “Protected Mantras” sounds like the most broken trait ever, lol.
Also, I don’t think the trait changes needs for this mantras change would be all that difficult.
EDIT: But if we must…
Protected Mantras: 100 toughness for each mantra with 2 or more charges.
Empowering Mantras: 2% more damage for each charge with a limit of 10% more damage.
And the other mantra traits can remain the same.
Mantra of Distraction charge rate: 20 seconds
Mantra of Resolve charge rate: 15 seconds (taking the 15ths mantra buff into consideration)
Mantra of Recovery charge rate: 6 seconds
Mantra of Pain charge rate: 8 seconds
Mantra of Concentration charge rate: 20 seconds

I’m aware of the buff mantras are going to receive on the 15th but I honestly don’t think that it’ll be enough. Their core design makes them unappealing no matter their effects.

As an example we could take Mantra of Resolve. As you equip the skill it begins gaining charges. Every 10 seconds Mantra of Resolve would passively gain 1 charge and do this until it reaches 2 charges (or 3 when traited). If the player uses a charge it would automatically begin the 10 second cooldown to regain max charges again.
and I apologize if this has been suggested and talked about before amongst the mesmer community already. I don’t keep track of that stuff.
Replace shouts/signets with preparations.
Allow pets to attack while moving.
Rework all weapons skills… or just axe/sword.
Pretty stupid that rangers have 4 off-hand weapons and two horribly situational (BAD) main-hand weapons.
Best solution is to lower their drop rate and lower the numbers needed for crafting. Only reason I see Anet made them so annoying is because they wanted to force people to waste up money and craft into the 450s or waste bank space.
The boss is really easy if everyone understands they have to stay close and dodge when he raises his hands. That is literally it.
I’ve beaten the boss almost solo twice now. I would tell my team all they have to do is stay alive, stick close to the boss, and dodge when he raises his hands and I would take care of the shield and the holos. I ended up having to deal with the boss agro, the shield and holos, as well as doing most of the dps. Meanwhile, my team would be busy getting downed and rezzing each other the whole time.
