I don’t understand how you monkeys can complain. There was no entry fee for this tourney. It was just for fun and there were crazy prizes donated by generous people who didn’t get anything back for it.

As for rulings. There was bound to be problems that come up like stalling with freakish builds but the admins tried to mitigate the problems as much as possible before the tourney started. Once it has started, the rules can’t be changed and neither the players nor the admins broke any of them.

There’s really nothing you can legitimately be upset about. The only explanation for a thread like this is bitterness from losing and a desperate attempt for attention.

PU condi has glaring issues that people don’t seem to realize. 1) Anyone and there mother can just walk away from them and live. 2) They have the worse cleave in the game. Things like being unable to cap or decap have already been mentioned.

Thieves also have incredible rezzing potential, something PU condi isn’t even decent at.

I think GW2 could benefit from a spectator like GW1 with a more top down view of the fights. Being that there’s a lot of horizontal movement in this game it should make things a lot clearer. Top-down with less sporadic camera movement.

Cele necro shines because of cele ele, fool. However, cele necro will single handedly prevent any condi builds from entering the meta (assuming diamond skin is murdered).

On to the chill topic, no. Attunements are a profession mechanic as well as a weapon swap. As with any classes profession mechanic, they’re affected by chill. Elementalists have enough condi removal to make this slight downfall trivial.

Honestly, I’m still playing this trapper ranger and I just can’t get over how annoying it is to have to stand inside players bodies to get these stupid things off. I’m so sick of Anet balancing the game without thinking about what’s actually fun. Throwing traps was fun. You threw them into the area you wanted to fight, then jumped in with them for a fun condi arena.

Anet, please. This is a video game.

I don’t get this comment. You don’t have to stand inside the players bodies. They are not like that. Traps are used to herd, guide, kite, the enemy into. Not on top of… You and your team know where they are. They are to prevent, and alert, and reset the fight, “as well as” damage.

They are not grenades, nets, or boomerangs. You place them and then dance. I run 4 and enjoy spike trap the most.

Trapper ranger can’t be played like this, though. Most classes can get you below 50% before they even get within range to trigger a trap, and with the sacrificed defenses to even slot traps you’re forced to get your traps on your opponent to basically burst them down before they can burst you down. Trapper rangers can’t afford waiting around for opponents to walk on their traps.

So now, in a scenario where the trapper is forced to walk over to an enemy player, they also have to spend 1.5 seconds literally dancing around them to finally get traps activated. At this point the trapper just hopes that the enemy player sits in the traps long enough to make all the effort worth it, which in most cases isn’t worth it. Trying to get on a power ranger with a trapper ranger for example is an absolute nightmare.

Even Healing Spring suddenly becomes better because you can throw it ahead of you to proc it instead of being forced to stand still like it works now. I just don’t understand sometimes…

Lady pantsuru, thieves defense is literally just evades, blind spam, and invis. Anet killed evades and if they kill invis thieves will drop out of the meta. Especially considering Revenant will be taking over the mobility role now.

Tbh, if Anet goes overboard with reveal effects they could destroy two classes entirely, and with AoE reveals, revealing is going to be brain dead easy.

So I’ve been playing condi trapper ranger post-specialization patch for a total of… 1 2 3 hour and I’ve got some words.

The damage is ridiculously good. Probably better sustain condi damage than any class in the game can dish out. The problem is that it forces such a vulnerable playstyle for the ranger. Pre-specialization some of that vulnerability was alleviated by the fact that they could throw traps.

… Let me throw traps again. If that means the damage on traps would need to be reduced I’m fine that. Pre-specialization condi ranger was a close range fighter. Now they’re a melee range fighter.

You’re probably thinking at this point, “but dragonhunters will be jelly.” Fine, let them throw traps too. They weren’t such a big hit last BWE anyways.

And I mean 6 second duration with a 90 second cooldown “massive.” Bleeds and poisons would need a boost to be noticeable but that would be a perfect plague form in my eyes.

Lower the duration and lower the cooldown massively. That’s all it needs. It’s a really good skill but it’s duration makes it a nuisance for enemies and wasteful for the necro.

People just don’t understand how to utilize walls and it’s quite embarrassing at this point. All a commander needs to do is veil to the edge of a wall with a group of people, spam AoE on rams, and profit. But, no. Something so effective and obvious could never cross peoples minds. Even the veil isn’t necessary.

Enemy teams don’t spam the wall with AoE if there’s noone there. Get the jump on them, spam AoE below, and it wouldn’t look so stupid to be up there.

I’m worried this isn’t even going to get fixed because of how little attention it’s getting. Everyone would rather cry about their poor key farming, meanwhile I don’t even feel like playing the game because of how annoying it is to see my name popup every time I use a skill.

I love these “can I get into T1” threads!

First of all it shows how broken Anet allowed the servers to become, getting players to stack into the top 3-4 servers.

And the typical excuse of “I want to play with my friend”, is yet again hilarious! You dont see such tantrums on other games, yet here it’s like they think it’s their right to get into T1, like there isnt another tier available. :P

Anet waited too long to lock servers this way, and by still charging gems for transfers after PvE gets megaservers, it’s just another slap in the face for WvW players.

But although I laugh at them I am getting tired of seeing them. A mod really need to make a stick saying Full servers are full for a reason, select another server!

Not everyone who plays GW2 is going to be interested in WvW and the players who are interested in WvW are going to stack on the servers that are also interested. Anet had nothing to do with players stacking on top tier servers and Anet has nothing to do with players continuing to try and join top tier servers. Tier 1 IS where the players who care most about WvW are going to be and there’s nothing wrong with other players who aren’t in Tier 1 wanting to be apart of that.

Stop trying to make yourself feel better about being on the server you’re on.

Reaper Changes for BWE3

1) All these changes are amazing except maybe Soul Eater. I like the originality of it before in terms of cool down reduction. Also don’t like the idea of all the lifesteal being tossed onto one skill which if blocked or prevented negates the entire effect.

2) I don’t know if it’s just me but the animation and damage application from Death Spiral didn’t seem synced up at times. The damage would be applied well after the animation started.

3) This one’s really petty but can the animation of Nightfall rotate in the same direction the player character rotates their greatsword? Currently the player characters spins the greatsword counter-clockwise while the spiral animation of Nightfall is clockwise.

I can’t believe people are still crying about this. Why is it okay to be bursted down by a power engi, thief, guardian, or mesmer and not okay to be bursted down by condis? It’s the same thing. You have slow reaction times and you’re going to pay for it.

Signet necro also hard counters condi builds which is a problem in itself but condi players do have a chance if they use LoS, dodge, or block to get the necro to waste atleast one of their three transfers. Diamond skin ele is simply impossible to kill alone.

EDIT: I’m gonna start designing skills so Anet can just do it already.

Skill 1 – Shoot a burst of three projectiles that explode on enemy contact applying torment to all enemies within radius for each projectile.

Skill 2 – Dash forwards then shoot several projectiles to all enemies within radius applying confusion for each projectile.

Skill 3 – After a 1 second channel, shoot a large piercing beam that sets all enemies hit on fire.

Skill 4 – Shoot a projectile while dashing backwards through the mist pulling and crippling your target.

Skill 5 – Shoot a projectile to target location pulling all enemies withing radius towards the center applying vulnerability.

The real question is why does it feel that way?

I think the answer is that every legend (other than glint) is the barebone version of that role. Jalis is a tank. Ventari is a healer. There isn’t really an in-between with these legends.
Now Glint on the otherhand has multiple uses. Use it to boost your damage with permanent fury. Use it to tank with perma protection or regen. You could even argue it can go condi with might and Elemental Burst.

Basically I think that Glint feels essential because she works well with every legend while all the others only seem to work well her.

This is exactly why I disagreed with the Jalis upkeep skill change. They took one of the skills that actually diversified the legend and made it less diverse. The new version is still good but that’s besides the point.

Even anet doesn’t care. I don’t even think they realized yet that when they disabled soft cc on movement skills they also disabled the slow from holding orb. Warriors and Thiefs can cap so easily.

Are you kidding? Elite specializations are suppose to be a new way of playing the class not some sort of glue that makes the core profession suddenly complete. The core Revenant specializations are suppose to be as it always has been for the first 8 professions, fun and whole.
