There are so many skills, traits, and fields that proc through dodge. Blinding isn’t really one to complain about.
Tldr; This trait is completely broken and it’s things like this that mean pure condi builds will never be viable in competitive play.
I’d also argue plague signet + plague signet passive is also pretty oppressive for condi users but that’s another thread I guess.
but what about the tengu?…
Incindiary Powder is the only thing making condi engi even slightly useful.
Condi food breaks WvW.

What has sPvP gotten besides reward tracks since release? I don’t know how Anet thinks anyone’s suppose to be attracted to it. What even happened to the 2-part PvP updates they were talking about? They threw out the first part and now claim everyone’s to busy on HoT to do anything else. Meanwhile HoT sounds just as shallow in terms of content. They’re so hesitant to talk about anything it’s sickening. I literally created a new character in GW1 just now out of boredom.
As long as Anet doesn’t intend on making every server equivalent in terms on WvW population then I don’t think there’s a problem. There’s only so many people that care about WvW and trying to force them to spread out between all servers is never going to work. The people that care more for WvW will always gravitate toward the top servers.
I don’t even have the wings but over the two options, the current one is a thousand times better. However, it may be just a tad bit too soft.
@skowcia, the point I was making is that, yes, tengu do have similar body types to charr and because of that the armor for charr and tengu would both probably improve. Not just improve for tengu. Their similar body types mean they’re using similar armor models. With more races suffering from armor issues, Anet would feel inclined to fix it.
Oh great, the classic pixel argument.
All that crap is pointless anyways, and the question of when isn’t even why I’m here. Just hurry up. I feel like this game accomplishes nothing in comparison to GW1. Everything done is at the pace and scale of a turtle.
Everyone here talks their garbage about prestige when I bet 0.2% of people who have the set even uses it. I have seen maybe one person in my 3 years playing this game wear the set. If you don’t like it, leave it alone. Besides, this set was never suppose to be unavailable. It was suppose to be a PvP specific reward, and it should stay that way. Anets constant redesigning and oversights is not a reason to deprive people of the skin.
If tengu were in the game Anet would have more incentive to do better with their armor, though. I’d also like to mention that the thing I want most out of this game is to be able to play as tengu and explore their starter zones. Sad that this expansion isn’t giving me that. Second is fixing/better armor for non-human races. Why should I suffer cause most players are boring and dull?
I’ve never felt like I had a hard time making a good looking armor set for my charr characters. Sure I can’t always use the exact same pieces I’d pick for a human or norn but I don’t see that as an issue.
You have horrible taste. It’s as simple as that.
They should do this with all maps if they can tbh. So often do I have trouble identifying where my character is in relation to the mini map or which point is where.
So ranked means nothing?…
What’s going on with the leaderboards? Are any of the ranked matches being recorded and if not what does ranked have over unranked?
Thanks.
…but what about the boons, Anet?
So I was recently looking at my Mesmer when I got upset. He’s ugly I can’t undo the ugly cause there is not a single set of armor I can put together to make him look decent, at least not without the tribal set. He sits in my character select hoping to be not ugly one day so that I may play him. When will that day be, Anet?
1) When a warrior uses Seismic Leap (Rampage – skill 5) through a water field the whole screen has a flash of red for the warrior and for everyone around the warrior. It also happens at other times during the use of Rampage but I only know this one way of replicating it on demand.
2) Warrior rifle – skill 3, Volley, does NOT aim toward the enemy character when channeling it. If a character were to walk behind the warrior while channeling this skill, the skill will cancel. Yes, the warrior is standing still.
3) More of a suggestion but can you please have skill 1 on Rampage autoattack by default along with other similar transforms such as Lich Form. Even in it’s short duration I’ve taken to wasting time turning it on manual everytime. Would really appreciate this one.
While we’re on this topic, I’m currently thinking about getting speed or travelers runes on my warrior. Since I don’t care about my warrior as much as my other 8 characters, it’s most likely gonna be speed since they’re cheap. Point is, could you please fix the senseless redundancy of the speed runes, Anet? It just throws swiftness buffs all over the place then suddenly give you perma 25% movement speed. Does this make sense to anyone? It’s a very desirable bonus trapped in a confused rune.
It isn’t just about luck, it’s about patience, timing, understanding what tools your opponent has and once you realized that S/D became so much stronger. It had an extremely high skill ceiling that most people probably thought they reached.
What’s this “problem” people were trying to fix about pre-patch S/D? I honestly never had an issue with any thief build other than venoms and that’s because immobilize is a ridculous condi. D/P and S/D were both very viable but more importantly could be dealt with. Even D/P being stronger than S/D, neither of them needed a nerf.
Quickness was probably converted into a “boon” from an “effect” because of how fast a reinforced gate could go down with quickness buff.
I doubt golems had anything to do with this decision. Quickness was always suppose to be a boon and now that they added slow it makes even more sense to have had that fixed.
In 17 years when they finally do it, you’re gonna feel so embarrassed.
I don’t think it’s fair that they can’t get any boons but they’re free to get smashed with millions of condis.
Let them be able to acquire boons and balance as needed. I don’t think it could cause that much of an issue really. Either way, allowing for condis and no boons is just not right.
That’s it, increase everyones movement by 25% and remove swiftness from the game. The more you think about it the more you realize it just limits everyones build. Swiftness is always a must have.
BASELINE! :p
I agree with OP honestly. I’ve always wanted to use different weapon combos such as axe, rifle, or whatever but I’m always compelled to bring S/WH or trait for Warrior’s Spirit (which only works when using melee weapons) for movement. It’s really limiting what I want to do on warrior. I would actually argue this same issue always comes up when trying to play guardian as well. It’s always either staff or “Retreat!”, but that’s for a different thread I guess.
I have to agree with acrobatics now being terrible. Thieves need the 15 endurance regen on dodge. Even pre-patch D/P thief was better than S/D and everyone knew that. I still played S/D because it was so fun. Now I can’t play it anymore. Thieves are way too squishy to take hits. You either used stealth and blind spam to live, or you used dodge and evasion to live. Vigor alone even with the 50% increase trait is not enough to keep a thief alive especially considering S/D doesn’t have the burst potential D/P has. S/D needs even better sustain.
And speaking as someone who has also played against hundreds of thieves in this game, I haven’t noticed them being overpowered in the slightest. Every fight I play with or against a thief, I know exactly why I won or lost.
Either way, the complaining here is completely unnecessary. Even thinking that it already have a 30 second internal cooldown, I still thought it was a good trait. 50% fury uptime? Yes please. 1 might stack though… :/
Getting it on every pet swap makes more sense than every other pet swap. If I swap my pet to save it from dying to condis/AoE, then need a blast finisher 16 seconds later, I’m out of luck even though my pet swap is off cooldown.
Oh, because not having a blast finisher off cooldown is always a life or death situation. I’m so sorry this trait can’t help you overcome all awkwardly specific and unimportant scenarios.
Either way, the complaining here is completely unnecessary. Even thinking that it already have a 30 second internal cooldown, I still thought it was a good trait. 50% fury uptime from one trait? Yes please. 1 might stack though… :/
I’m confused. Didn’t it always say 30 second in the trait? Was it bugged or something?
That spectral walk change was unnecessary. Literally one of the coolest things about necromancers and now it’s gone.
Did acrobatic thief and d/d else just die cause of that vigor change?
I feel the balance in regards to locking players down with conditions and players being able to escape is really balanced as it is (with the exception of the broken condition duration food which I think should be nerfed or removed from the game entirely). This change will make certain classes unkillable and other classes unable to kill.
Normalizing system allows them to do proper balance on skills and traits.
So put me in the OP is wrong about everybody not liking it.
I like it.How far do you go on normalizing? Where is that line? Where do you stop before you have a bunch of people running around hitting each other with the same 1 skill because it was too hard to balance variety?
Variety is always more important than balance in my opinion. It makes a game infinitely more fun and it’s something GW1 had kitten loads of. GW2 is heading in the opposite direction sadly. Devs seem to care way to much about how difficult it will be to balance that they’re sacrificing any fun and interesting ideas, skills, and mechanics the game could have had.
This is the biggest mistake I ever seen Anet make. It’s the definition of making your game less fun and interesting. Trying to cater to casuals while destroying your game in the process.
Just throw the set in an sPvP track already. We all know that’s what’s going to happen anyways. Anets been pushing sPvP incentives and this is a good one.
Put the llama in one too.
First look – hated
Second look – liked
Third look – boring
Fourth look – current and loved
I also think charr have serious armor issues in this game and it’s a shame cause they’re my favorite race. By some miracle I was able to find something that I like and I don’t think Anet will be releasing anything I think would look better for years judging by the percent of armor I think looks bad now.

Didn’t Anet already say a million and 3 years ago that dead players don’t scale anything already?
Should have gotten it when it was out! Was a pain to forge so I hope they make it hard to get again. :P Happy Year year everyone.
Don’t lie to yourself. I had gotten some of the pieces without even trying. If I knew Anet was gonna take 9+ months to put the set back in the game I would have finished getting the rest in less than 30 minutes.
Holy crap, this has been in this game for 3+ months? Anet always amazes me.
I have this bug as well. I don’t know why I haven’t heard anyone say anything about it until now.
To get around it: Spam click the finisher you want as your default a few times, then quickly exit out of the finisher tab. You will know it worked because the finisher icon you selected wont switch back to default as you’re leaving the tab like it normally would.
Don’t go back into the finisher tab or you will need to redo this.

21 day old response is pretty good. No ETA on something they’ve already waiting 8 months on sucks though.
Thanks for the word.
It’s been 8 months since they made it unobtainable. Can we please have a way to get this and all other unobtainable armors?
I don’t think it should be permanent. It would take away from what makes it so precious. Riot also knew this when their massive community cried out for more Ultra Rapid Fire. But taking such a long break from SAB is another thing.
