Players that have fractals skins have done hundreds or thousands of runs. Just because 1 or 2 percent of people have gotten one earlier than that doesn’t make the whole set any less special.
Only 3 years left to go.
I’m surprised this hasn’t gotten more attention. One of the only items in the entire game that actually showed some level of mastery and it was destroyed because of an oversight.
Whenever you saw someone with fractal weapons or a fractal backpiece, you knew exactly how they got it. Now what does it mean? Fractal weapons are as meaningless as first generation legendaries.
The back item that’s probably going to be rewarded at the 39,000/42,000 achievement point mark.
Anyone know how to get it?
Dragonhunters defenitely do counter Druids, as well as warriors. This was even true back in BWE3. Druids do terrible against burst and CC. Dragonhunters do both. The amount of lockdown they have is ridiculous.
Also people don’t seem to understand that it takes a while for Druids to build astral force. If you don’t have the CC to waste out their Celestial Form, go after them after they leave it. It’s going to be a while before they get back in.
So then can the smoke field also be buffed? A blind field? You can take out pet immunity if you want. :P
Edit: Or atleast a one time blind application at the start.

I just like PvE on my own terms.
This never changed. The pets aren’t mandatory for anything. When you’re ready to get it, get it.
GW2 isn’t just PvE, it isn’t just WvW, and it isn’t just PvP, regardless of you or anyone else thinking that. You shouldn’t be able to ignore over two-thirds of the game and still get everything you want.
Oh, because completing one event is such a privilege. “I can’t believe how few people are able to accomplish such a monumental task while the rest of us rebel in their accomplishments. I feel so helpless.”
Stop making me puke.
I disagree with this thread. This reminds me of GW1 where pets were even harder to get. This is something I was hoping Anet would do. Make it feel rewarded to actually tame a pet. Not just go to some ordinary area and press the F key.
You only have to tame it once to have it forever. Stop being so godkitten lazy that you aren’t able to get the exact specific pet you want by simply clicking on a waypoint. I don’t care if all you do is WvW or PvP. You can set some time over to accomplish this one time thing.
This is a prime example of people destroying aspects of a video game because they’re too lazy and entitled.
Post to hit 180. Also, why are people still using this pet in PvP?
Warriors get adrenaline a million times easier than a Druid gets Astral Force, however, I really dislike how fast the adrenaline degenerates once they leave combat. That really could be given some more time. A few seconds at least.
Edit: Clarifying that the degen rate is fine but the start of degen could be eased up.
My biggest problem with DH is that everything they do lasts sooo long.
To be honest, what I’m asking for could even be considered overpowered. Anet wants players to make sacrifices when designing a build. They don’t want players to get everything they want in a build so that it becomes substantial stronger than any other build available for that class. To think, however, that ferocity is better than precision is blatantly wrong.
If a player takes Marauder they can take traits, runes, and sigils to increase their survivability. If a player takes Crusader, it’s not so easy to make up for the precision on most classes.
The ferocity is pigeonholing more builds than it’s helping forcing them to take precision traits, runes, and sigil to make it effective. Precision opens up more options, even for Reapers.
Regardless of professions being able to build crit chance. There is no build inwhich the 500 ferocity is better than an extra 500 precision.
Ferocity is the only stat in the game that requires another stat to be useful. Putting it on an amulet with no precision inwhich stat selection is overly limited is just straight up stupid. Defending it is worse.
What’s the point of keeping useless amulets though? Noone in their right mind would take Crusader over the dream amulet. Gotta save that 10 gold too. :P
Can the ferocity on this be replaced with precision? One more half decent amulet isn’t such a bad thing is it, Anet?
The beta version was the best. It was unique in that it was different from necro or warrior forms and it was flexible, simple, and fun. I don’t want it to be like necro shroud because that’s uninteresting and if I wanted to play something similar to necro shroud, I’d play necro shroud.
I never played as DH yet but every 10 seconds when they turn around ready to burst someone down again, they’re constantly blocking and immune. They’re hard to kill while doing massive, unavoidable AoE damage. Yeah, they’re not able to take on a 3v1 but they don’t have to be to be considered highly sustainable. What little damage they take they’re able to recover from with ease.
What about PvP? Do you people actually think Druid is good in PvP?
And the way CAF functions now is just plain ugly even without a degen. Is there any plans on making a fun transform?
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
DH is the only spec I found to be blatantly OP so far. Crazy sustain, burst damage, sustain damage, condi cleanse, crowd control, unblockable. Everything about them is mental.
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
I was hoping to use my ranger/druid to complete basically everything HoT related but I’m so reluctant right now considering I hate what they’ve been turned into since the beta. Now I’m just waiting hoping for that non-existent dev post/patch that will tell me something half decent about the druid.
Stuck in PvP trying things out for now.
This isn’t how I wanted to spend my HoT release.
Anet has been sacrificing fun for the sake of “balance” since launch, though. They were never trying to hide that, or maybe they just don’t know what fun is.
Look down. Whether you have “snap ground target to selection” or whatever it’s called this will still throw it at your feet.
This.
I bet they did it so we have more to talk about other than how kittenty CAF is.
Edit: It’d also be cool if the smoke field blinded instead of gave the pet invuln.
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
Not only that but…
Smoke Assault: This skill has switched places with Smoke Cloud so that it will now be the F2 skill for this pet
…is a huge mistake.
We need the smoke field on demand for invis. Wtf is Anet thinking?
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
Ranger—Smokescale: Smoke Assault: This skill has switched places with Smoke Cloud so that it will now be the F2 skill for this pet. Fixed an issue in which this skill dealt higher than intended damage; it has been reduced by 50%.
Typical Anet. Always ready for nerfs but never ready for buffs.
Why is 75%+ of the damage from static discharge still going into the ground? This isn’t Call of Duty, Anet. There are no cursors on my screen. Can you fix this already?!
So has anyone tried Static Discharge with action camera yet? Is it not the most horribly designed trait in the game anymore?
10) Continues regardless of whether the druid has astral force or not.
The current CAF is honestly the most ugly and clunky mechanic I’ve seen in this game since Engineer’s Static Discharge.
Yeah, I think they kept it the same but added some sort of radar noise to it. Not a fan.
#givebetadruidback
Just remove the druidclass the way it is now. Our dev doesnt know anything about this spec.
View from PvP:
1. CAF cooldown 10 seconds. Why? Show me a good build that can gain full astralforce within 10 seconds. We can get a 30s cd and wouldnt noticed that a cd exists.
2. AF before match starts: We get full AF-bar, which hits zero when the match starts.Just two examples that our dev has no clue what he is doing.
If he does not know what is working maybe he should leave it in the state of bwe3.
He removed everything that made the druid different from other classes.3.Lingering light: Instead of a special whisp we only get a buff for our teammates. Awesome bad idea, no real synergy with af generation.
4. af generation minor: This is a healing spec and then he nerfs af generation via healing by 1 % reduction. And then he think we cannot do our maths and see that 200% from nothing (af per damage) still is nothing.
Let us generate af with healing, dont make us like any other damage spec like warrior or necro!
5. The worst thing. We will hear nothing substantial from our dev! Just something like “iam working on everything” (but will change nothing). I want to know what has come to his mind when he decided this changes. It was intentional from his side.
I come to the conclusion that he either dont know what he is doing or that he was aware that he was destroying the druid on purpose.
If its the last thing then pls tell us. Then i dont think about druid anymore and start to deal with the fact, that we are the only class who didnt get a specialization.
I agree with this. Druid is suppose to be a healer spec regardless of how many people cry about it. Irenio had it right the first time in the beta. Healing gives us AF and we can enter in and out of CAF often to do our main role.
Irenio has faltered, however. Adding mechanics such as a 10 second cooldown to force Druids into a more damage dealing role regardless of how bad they may be at it and the AF generation rates, though it’s nice to see damage do something, they also made healing so much less rewarding.
Lingering Light was also a bad change. From a skillful passive with a tell that allows for counterplay to a completely passive blind spam fest.
The other races look so chill while gliding and the charr look like they’re trying to scare someone or crash and burn.
Druids were hard countered by CC which is disturbingly easy to come by. Even back in BWE3 they were extremely well balanced. Anet honestly destroyed a completely viable and fun specialization.
Beta Druids wouldn’t have even taken a guards role simply cause of how easy it was to counter them.
Why do they hold their hands up in the air like they’re about to die?
I want my beta druid back. CAF was so much more fun back then.
Im hoping its a bug. (Very possible)
All I want to do is heal in pvp but it looks like Im forced to be pewpew forever… :/
It would have been hotfixed. It’s a very important issue that would have been resolved instantly. It’s definitely not a bug.
Well they basically threw in warrior/necro form mechanics and expected it to balance things (10 second cooldown/degen out of combat). It’s just horribly designed now as oppose to before where were given freedom and versatility in when we wanted to use it.
It’s hilarious how bad it is now. We’re even incentivized to use it after a fight is over or teammates hardly need healing because if you don’t it’ll degen all astral force and be unusable. Just one example of its terrible design.
One of the most important things about BWE3 Druid to me was that it’s transform was completely unique from any of the other professions. Please don’t just throw other class transform mechanics into it for the sake of “balance.”
It was not only more balanced but a million times more fun to play with the beta Druid than this sad disgrace of a spec we have now. They literally shoved mechanic after mechanic into it not only nerfing it into oblivion but also making it extremely annoying and clunky to use.
I truly felt Druids were in such a good spot during the beta. It was surprising because it was the first beta they had been apart of. A few changes and polishing and Druid would have been gold.
Please make Druid fun again, Anet.
I keep playing Druid hoping it’ll suddenly stop being kitten but it’s not working. I can’t play this specialization until it gets massive changes. In it’s current state it might as well not exist. It’s sad how it was in such a good spot in BWE3 and now it’s unplayable.
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
Not even staff is good at astral force gain anymore. The whole specialization is embarrassing.
To top it off, staff 1 sounds like a annoying submarine radar or something now.
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
I think the decay is their solution to Druids being able to gain Astral Force out of combat (healing things with full health). Sadly this turned the whole mechanic to trash.
I just noticed this change and OMFG druid is absolute garbage. I thought the 10 cooldown was bad enough but holy crap does anet know how to kill a good thing.
(edited by Hammerguard.9834)
Anet still hasn’t commented on the most salient question of Leagues. We don’t know if there will be a solo only solo queue. I feel part of the reason for their silence is because they’re still determining if they want to have it or not. Basing the decision off how successful sPvP becomes after HoTs release.
