It’s in reference to GW2 incase you were confused about that.
Isn’t this getting overboard?
I can also refer back to this when I want to know how bad the 23 balance patch is.
Nobody said anything about point holding. I’m talking about overall strength, usefulness, and which classes need to see nerf and buffs.
Herald – Precision Strike is one of the most ridiculous skills to make it through a balance team in any game. Too many dodges, too many blocks, too many evades. Almost impossible to kite.
Scrapper – Too much damage through defensive skills. Under Herald simple cause they’re easy to kite. Sneak Gyro needs a cast time. Most overpowered heal in the game.
Reaper – A lot of damage. Necessary evil due to Scrapper and Herald’s insane defense.
Druid – Underrated for their decap potential. Currently strongest rezzer. One of the easiest targets to lockdown behind Reaper.
Dragonhunter – By far the most annoying class in the game. Constant daze, invis, block, super speed, and blind spam. Instant cast traps shouldn’t exist.
Daredevil – Weaker version of Herald. Good mobility, good burst. Dies just being near a Scrapper, a Dragonhunter, Precision Strike, or a Tempest (if they used anything other than clerics) because of absurd AoE/passive damage.
Tempest – Time wasters/body blockers.
Chronomancer – The thing you can ignore.
Berserker – Inferior to Herald in every possible way.

The fact that a single skill is being compared to another single skill is embarrassing enough. Ele’s staff has 20 skills. Ignoring that just makes everything said irrelevant.
You might as well compare Ele staff 5 to Druid staff 5. It’s just as stupid.
Druid AA is the only damage on the weapon while Ele does more damage with every other skill.
Meanwhile revenants have a built in energy sigil on their 0 cooldown breakstun evade…
Scrapper is honestly the hardest kill for a condi Mesmer. They have a trait that reduces condition damage by 20% for literally no reason. Only reason reapers even have a chance is because of extremely heavy boon corrupt.
The protection isn’t AoE. Just the breakstun.
It’s not back. It’s dark red and I was pretty sure they did it on purpose. Makes it easier to see in all the glowing particle effects.
Are there any bunker specs left after the patch? BESIDES Bunker Guardian?
I would say not even bunker guardian. The closest thing to a bunker right now are druids.
the ignorance…
This is just another case of players not being able to think beyond that of a squirrel. Have some decent map awareness and you should know where the Druid is and where to cleave.
weeks*
Even if the seperate unranked MMR thing was true it still doesn’t change the fact that the MMR range used for unranked is massive. When I play a match with/against pro league players the game sprinkles randoms to fill in the gaps.
But what will be done? Let’s keep pushing the playerbase and leaving or poor decision making to rot on the community while they rightfully express their discontent on the forums. No hope of progress or headway to be made. Another 20+ days wondering why I even bother.
It takes players from a ridiculously large MMR range and throws them on a team. I don’t like to farm players. Players don’t like to be farmed. I don’t sit alt-tabbing for 5-10 min (which is a problem in itself) to play an uncompetitive match with players who don’t know basic rotations.
I disagree with the use of range. In that case it would cause players to make a choice of trying to survive or staying in range and going down.
The prioritization is my only concern.
And who would the rally prioritize? Is there even a right answer? No.

It’s disturbing how many people don’t know what a good revenant is capable of. They really should display MMR in these forums or something.

As for Druid, I can’t believe people are still complaining about their pets. I have fun 1v1ing them with my thief. It’s fun pressuring them down while avoiding their pets (which is disturbingly easily if you have half a brain). Bristleback literally has one skill to avoid. I’m more afraid of that stupid quick knockdown on smokescale than anything.
It legitimately is a learn to play issue if the Bristleback’s single skill is scaring you.

I feel like reaper is being heavily overrated. Yes, they do massive damage but everyone knows how easy it is to lock them down and insta kill them. They’re such easy targets and need teammate support to be extremely effective. Chill damage and/or application needs to be nerfed though.
Revenant on the other hand is still outrageously broken. Still way too much block, evade, and dodge.
Well hopefully they improve los for its targeting. Oh and other classes’ too I suppose ;-)
This. They should remove LoS requirement so a mini hill doesn’t prevent us from getting max distance with it.
I don’t remember Druids being able to give 40 seconds AoE protection before a match even started.
It should have a cast time tbh. Right now the counter play to it is basically baiting it out. RNG dodging, blocking, or LoSing when you think they’re gonna use it.
I don’t see the problem. It’s been less than a day. People haven’t found the strongest setups and people haven’t found out how to deal with the new strong stuff yet. Could you drama queens, like, stop crying so hard. I’m sick of seeing so much garbage on the forums.
I HAVE QUESTIONS.
What did this help with? Also, it’s still doable if you hit jump and ancestrals at the same time as you would with jump-dodging. But again, why?
So now we’re comparing a single skill to an entire profession mechanic? And lets just pretend 15k is a thing.
Brilliant. You win thread.
Bristlebacks sacrifice any form of utility to do the damage they do. That’s literally all they do is damage. The risk is that a Bristleback isn’t going to drop a smokefield, a massive AoE fear, or a knockdown to help the Ranger when they’re in trouble. That’s the risk. Just because you’re too narrow minded to see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
The risk is nonexistant if you are a druid actively using your skills. Because i think most people realise by now, what druids are especially good at. And its not dying.
A druid is only good at surviving because they’re able to CC the damage dealing targets. Something they can’t do in team fights. Hence they’re good at 1v1s. Does that mean they’re “good at not dying?” No. It means they’re good at lowering a single targets pressure. Druids are literally one of the easiest targets to lockdown and kill in this meta.

are you saying AI focussed builds should be playable in a ‘competetive’ pvp game? A pet should bring utility NOT damage.
What kind of sick arbitrary crap rule is that? There’s nothing wrong with a pet being taken for more damage. Bristlebacks have easily avoided, interruptible burst damage every 15 seconds with a very telegraphed animation. If you get caught in a combo, you deserve to be hurt for it. If you don’t have half a brain to notice the pet, you deserve to be hurt for it.
Only reason druid is usable this meta is because they have decent pets.
Just because you can’t ignore pets doesn’t mean they’re OP. Sorry they aren’t trash like they used to be. Get over it and learn to play.
This is honestly what I’m worried about. Demon stance rev is the most broken build in the game and will continue to be post patch. The Necro changes are an exaggeration. Corrupt boon is just a more offensive version of a traited signet, and third AA on scepter is hardly ever used. For people to get that attack off on opponents would have to sacrifice using other more impactful skills. Chill damage is too strong, however. Condi rev still have their inherent defensive abilities and maintain their mental condi damage output. If a condi rev is near a downed body their is literally 0 chance of getting a rezz off once quickness rezzing is gone.
All it does is burst damage. It has nothing else going for it. But that’s too much isn’t – it? It has to be good at nothing like the rest of the pets in the game.
chill is a condition, can be removed.
alacrity is an effect, can not be removed.
Anet are killing so much defense without touching any of the offense. Some of these classes do mental amounts of damage to the bunkers as it is. Season 2 is going to be a slaughter with no one even attempting to rez since the cleave on bodies is going to be higher than its ever been before. Quickness rezzing is gone which means quickness cleave will always win.
One thing that would be great for anet to do is publicize their aims for each class and where they see them so we can at least evaluate the balance changes against their aims.
They’re using the spray and pray tactic.
Take away portal and moa and you might as well homogenize all the classes till they have nothing unique left about them. Classes need to have distinct abilities to set them apart. Unless people want thief and Mesmer to be identical and interchangeable which is just boring imo.
BTW there is an attribute called Ferocity
There have been enough amulets ruined by ferocity as it is.
OMG Mender’s is my dream amulet.
In Heroes of Newerth, the lobby creator could just hit auto balance and the game would throw players around till it found the most even matchup involving all 10 players. GW2 should work the same way.
I don’t see how expanding the range of players that can be in a match has anything to do with how one sided a team can be. Aside from a 5 man queue, why doesn’t this game balance teams after all players have been selected? It feels like it just grabs people and throws them on a team before it even knows the full roster, leaving balance up to RNG. I’ve seen people posting pictures of even full solo queuers being the most messed up balance I ever seen. Range of players shouldn’t be effecting the MMR balance on each team.
They’re making necro shroud funner to use since so many nerds kept saying “Reaper is so hawt” and finally got them to play necro.
It needs damage on all skills and speed on dragon tooth.
I still think Tempest needs a trait that changes the Scepter range to 1200 when wielding a warhorn. That way it could be used in WvW.
Wth…
So quickness cleaving is still a thing but quickness rezzing isn’t? Why would anyone opt to even stomp now? And instead of just fixing the quickness stomp they remove it. Wow.
Season 2: No point rezzing.
I have a friend who hasn’t played HoT until just recently. He’s amber. I’m diamond. Am I not allowed to play ranked with him because it might look to some people like I’m abusing the system, when in reality I just wanna have fun with an old friend?
Wait for him to catch up or play unranked together. It’s not that big a sacrifice.
Disagree. I think people should be able to fall right down to amber 1 even if they are legendary right now if they keep losing. Leagues should be a reflection of your skill at the game in its current state, not a progressive reward track.
But yes I am aware bad design and manipulation of system makes skill irrelevant currently in leagues.
Seasons only last two months. What kind of change in skill could a person have in that amount of time? There’s really no point.
Ugh, it’s not about having or not having a badge. It’s about how ugly the Legendary badge is. How it should look as good as or better than Diamond.
