Let the player decide on the polls under display options and have a check box to display them/ hide them from appearing. Or you could even tie it to the living story. Say an NPC that works for Ellen Kiel and you talk to said NPC and a poll pops up to fill out? If something isn’t emmersive, there’s no reason why you can’t make it immersive. Just my 2 cents. Hmm how about this. The same weapon doesn’t share its cool downs on a secondary of the same weapon. So if you’re a great sword guardian, you have 2 sets, each a great sword. You use all the cool downs on one and swap to the fresh one.
The only way I see it working is if you are able to slot your stamina bar with either dodge rolling or blocking. Difference being something like edrickbane suggested only not that good. Maybe you’re able to block 3 consecutive attacks before stamina is fully depleted and it makes you take 1/2 the damage you would have taken? So its like dodge roll but not and mainly aesthetical.
Also if a dev looks at this. Why not have racial tiered capes? That would solve some of the clipping, and as for floating back items, why not have the back item detect your body type and move it closer or further away depending on that?
Lol “as an artist” well. Join the Anet team and tell them how dumb they look and make sure they re-do everything to get it in good taste.
Everquest nexts art style is horrid. Its more cartoon like than wow. Look how skinny the character is vs the bulk of the arms. you cant shoot down charr anatomy without devalidating the kerra also. Its a game, not real life. Things dont need to be anatomically correct. EQ kerra look kittenty. No I don’t play a lot of beast races in games because I don’t play games to be a beast race. That sounds ridiculous! Looking for a game just to be a man cat!? Seriously ridiculous, and no matter what features EQ offers, I hate that art style and the stupid lion face cut and pasted on a WoW humans body. The time I stopped playing EQ1 was when they introduced cat people. The game got too stupid.
Because you personally do not like the Charr aesthetics does not give you the right to decide if someone else has poor taste. Its a game after all. Maybe you’re a terrible artist with terrible taste? That happens all the time. The statement “as an anything” has no weight. if you want to play EQ then go for it and live out your furry dream.
If I remember correctly you used to be able to rally off necro minions, making any points in the Death tree hindering you to the point where you’re unplayable because you summon a bone fiend on kill automatically and he died in like 10 seconds, giving a free rally to whoever the necro just downed. No good.
In beta I rember a little survey would pop up in game asking you to rate whatever it was a 1-5 and leave comments and check if you enjoyed it. They should implement this again for living world content.
I don’t care about scarlet, or reading anymore short stories on their website. I looked to see if scarlet had one. Seen a wall of text and closed the browser.

I didn’t read your post but I will in a second after I spew my crazy out after reading “dynamic guild halls” I picture a giant golem that guild members are controlling like voltron to decemate opposing guilds. OK, reading post now…
Sounds like a great idea. Possibly have an upgrade for the guild hall to have a clicky button in the guild tab to be able to port there from anywhere. The guild halls themselves could be instanced so you can shop around for one you like so that way they aren’t all snatched up by the high end guilds right away. And have it similar when you have a guild battle as it was in gw1 where its a separate map with land in between to fight on and build stuff. I’m picturing it unbalanced like WvW.

So if they posted on this forum saying “We lied about some stuff” you’d all be sated? I’m pretty happy with whatever it was for the CE. I also enjoyed it so much I purchased 3-5 regular copies for friends and family. I play a bit less frequently than I did before but I think that everyone who’s still preaching the manifesto is ridiculous. Things happen in life and companies that don’t work and have to be revised. This is true with everything. Maybe some things can be added later and some can’t due to whatever reason. I’ve got my moneys worth.
Seriously though, its been a year and people are still crying about the manifesto. Grow up or move on already.
And previously I’m just saying a possible reason is its a new team with new ideas. If you got hired on for your new ideas and found out you’ll be doing nothing but going off of the old ideas, would you be satisfied with your job? Anywho the only way I think we can get it noticed is to make forum posts like this one. I believe a way to kill 2 birds with one stone would be to use the living world teams to do different things. There are 4 teams, so team 1 works on new ideas, team 2 works on recurring holidays and events, team 3 workson lore ccontent based off gw1, and team 4 improves the current world (like tequattle)
@Pope I really hope they don’t do that the way WoW did. Uhg I hated that. It wasn’t the heroes that did anything on their own. It was this authors time traveling dragon wizard shape shifter.
Its not just charr. Even Slick has it floating above his back and its his back item. I kinda solved it by becoming fatter. Be sure to eat plenty of makeover kits to gain enough mass to make items contact your spine.
Ewwww Kerra on EQ. Yuck. Its the Charrs attitude and machinery that make me play them and their ferocious look. I enjoy playing one. And that feeling you get when one looks amazing.
Then don’t pick them. Obviously a long hair will clip with bulky armor. Either that or they design is to stick out a ways in preparation for bulky armor and will look ridiculous on
Thinner armor. I’m sure they’ll add new hairstyles in another year with maybe one short and stylish.
Their reasoning could be “That was GW1 and this is GW2. We made nods to the past but we’re moving forward with new lore and ideas.” Which makes me sad because I really miss all the stories.
Additionally. You can add Story Teller NPCs to home instances that will tell you the stories of past living story content and make it audible. Don’t you remember how exciting it is to have someone tell you a tale or read you a story?
It would be a nice touch if way before realeasing a specific villain in future living worlds is to add ambient NPC conversations about them. I really liked seeing that Asura chick from the Asura starting area show up as a boss fight. Also with the hero characters. Have people talk about them because it gets a little old and unbelievable to have heroes and super villains show up all of a sudden with no warning under the pretence of “Oh we’ve been here all along, hiding, plotting, also read my back story that isn’t introduced anywhere in the game.” Its annoying to hear from someone “oh hey there’s a story about where and why on the internet” then when I actually do I see a wall of text. I don’t care that much, didnt read it and am choosing to not care and hope this gets better later.
So Scarlet had a mentor and excelled at 2 colleges (or more) in Rata Suum. Great, add an NPC in the game who is sitting on a street corner telling children on this amazing Sylvari.who surpassed all expectations. Make it accessible and fun instead of a chore.
Want to introduce a new hero? Use one that’s in the game! Sword Master Bongo has two characters talk about him. Lord Farren and also some noble in the Vigil story. Use mentioned people in the lore and give them a body and a purpose.
TL:DR add foreshadowing and stories actually spoken as audible dialog in the world.

However I have alts of other professions, my favorites being guardian, thief, engineer, and necro. I don’t play them very much and I realized it is because they are not Charr. Now I have many new alts to level <3
