It is very sad when you play a game knowing an NPC is going to betray you but the game forces you to progress the plot anyway by helping them. That really does make everything seem scripted, phoney, and pointless. I’d rather not see any betrayal than see it done badly.
My first play through on prophecies, I had no idea I was going to be betrayed on any of it. The vizier seemed sketchy but I still trusted him.
Fishing,
unique boss drops from dungeons
evolving pets,
capturing elites from bosses.
I hope we see more inclusions in gw2 also. So many loose ends. I’ve watched some videos of his, more of them before launch when I had spare time not devoted to killing centuars and ogres.
I was really hoping the fulfillment of his wyld hunt would destroy him. That could have been an amazingly clymactic moment if you had to run up and lend your strength to him in a cut scene or something. But alas, more babysitting.
But anywho, aside from Trehearn taking the jam out of my doughnut with his not giving a snaff, the point is there are almost no epic moments of you doing anything in particular and not really feeling like anythings a surprise. I did like the mesmer betrayal thing and you blowing up all your soldiers, I actually felt snaffy after that. But there were no real reprocussions. I was feeling like I would have been demoted or forced out of the pact and needing to earn their trust again, but nope.
Trehearne took a lot out of the game by his voice. I think if just his voice was replaced it would have helped me enjoy the game infinitely better once I get to Claw Island. Just make him sound like he cares about ANYthing. I feel as though him being a pivitol character he should have had an amazing voice actor instead of his current one which nearly sounds like a computer generated voice (like the ones on most Hylek) say Liam Neeson. If his voice actor was Liam Neeson, almost everyone I think would have a different view of him.
Exactly. Gw1 player characters were just gullible jerks. Believe whatever they’re told first and do what they think is right dependent on the information they’re given.
I would love lances and halberds
I miss the betrayel and plot twists that pushed me along In GW1’s story. Examples being Hey its happy in Ascalan and then Boom! Charr happened! You fight them off and fail, Ruric leads you out to go to Kryta. Bam! Dead Ruruk! Get to Kryta, help the white mantle collect the Chosen and rescue them from the Shining Blade. Oh snap, you’re actually a Chosen and the White Mantle are evil! Join the shining blade and help Vizier Kilbron get the staff of Orr. Oh snap! He’s a lich and you aided him in releasing the titans to destroy the world! Bettehr go to the ring of fire and fix the mess you made! Oh man, Kilbron isn’t the Flame Seeker, its you! You’re who the prophecy was about all along! Also there’s a dragon, some dwarves, and the Mursaat.
I mean… GW2’s story is pretty straight forward, no twists. Go here, kill that, aid those people, repeat. No heroic moments like when what’s his name was what’s it calling to the to heal the well when the plan backfires and destroys him and you run through an endless army of the dead while being maimed and torn apart to grip the whats it and finish the whos it saving the day, and cradling whats his faces twisted form in your arms and celebrating him as a hero and fueling youre hatred for zhaitan and using his death as a rallying cry for te final push!
I guess I’m just saying, there’s no twists. You get a mission, then you do what the mission description says. No surprises or heroic moments.
It would be interesting if Largos had Predator faces under the masks, with mandibles and such. But yeah, Largos would be nifty, Ive always thought they are strikingly similar to the Seers. Perhaps a Seer created them or something? Who knows. Tengu would be my favorite of favorites, I’ve loved them since GW. Hmm they would probably be similar options to the chart, because they use their exact framework, so Plume type, general head type, tusks, feather pattern and color.
She had different aspects of herself ;-)
But alas, that is dungeon armor. It doesn’t clip on my T2 sylvary heavy breastplate. The sword clips but that’s unavoidable.
It’s modeled on humans so Norn and Sylvari should be ok. The Asura get something cute. (floaties?)
But what to do with the Charr…
Hopefully also floaties.
I’m disappointed, too. I would buy new armor skins in the gemstore, but no town clothes. If you can offer so much town clothes, why not armor skins, too? I don’t unterstand that.
Because they only need to make 1 lazy model and retexture it 3 times vs being creative and thinking up all new armor for 3 different armor classes.
I think they’re testing the waters and seeing peoples reactions. So far the reward system has been different for every event. A lot of people were asking for unique stops from dungeons that you can’t get anywhere else, so they have something to grind for. Perhaps they’ll eventually find a happy medium for everyone or they’ll just do content rewards in cycles to cater to one demographic at a time.
? There’s an eye rifle and pistol. Double barrels on both, and they would look sweet if it weren’t for the weird eyeball.
I’m just posting this to see what everyone hopes to see in the future as far as hero characters and character development. I’ll start with -
Baby devourer! I want to see it later on when fighting our personal nemesis in a climactic battle become an armored siege devourer like the olden days. I want to see it huge, armor plated with canons built onto it bombarding the enemy base opening the dungeon or whatever for us.
And I want to see an amazing human hero that isn’t pulled out of thin air. Sword Master Bongo the One Eyed! From what I can tell, he isn’t in the game yet
He’s mentioned but not physically there. His appearance I believe should be Canthan or Elonian, and fights with a single sword. Preferably wearing a robed lower body and armored shoulders and gloves but no chest armor, hair pulled back with a tie and using Shiro’s sword. His demeaner should be quiet and our natural curiosity should lead us to follow him. Actions speak louder than words and he teaches through demonstraition vs talking and joking like Rox and Braham. Thoughts? Lol
Regardless, I hope we get a human representative hero of Swordmaster Bongo the One Eyed, and he is like the dancing instructor from Game of Thrones. He should only fight with a single sword and have unique attacks. Also the sword should be one of Shiro’s blades.
Hmm…. I’m really drawing a blank. The only people I could see the flame legion following is Gaherin Balefire. They added a room a while ago behind the acolyte crystal thingy at the end of path 2. His spirit and his corpse are still very there, and then there’s the mystery of the Komp puu or whatever, which may be a computer. That makes me think of Kudu. I believe if Kudu downloaded his brain into a data crystal or something and came back, he could make balefire a god. Perhaps our nemesis will end up being an anti-Destinys Edge, with a few baddies teaming up.
I feel there’s a real lack of titles in GW2 so far. I use Golden on my thief, and Master carver on my warrior.
Golden because he’s a thief, and he has gold? I don’t know. And Master Carver because I use a chainsaw and there aren’t any titles like Mutilator or Slaughterer

Janet only allows $300 a month per saved credit card. If you don’t save the card it should be OK. However my bank does not allow purchases from a few online retailers at all. Anet or steam. So I have to buy Pre paid. Fill out a support ticket, they’ll usually get back to you in a few hours. For specifics it may take an upward of a couple days. That’s how I found out its my bank and the 300 thing.
A Net should do a test though and put some weapon skins that look decent on the TP and see if they make more or less money than the chests. -edit- just realized that’s what they just did with Braham and Rox skins. We’ll have to see the results in the next big living story arc. If I were one of the people who wants to see skins for a flat fee, I would buy the Braham and Rox weapons, and a lot of them.

It took me 17 chests to get a fused ticket the first day of them coming out. I thought “oh sweet! I got one for only buying 15 keys!” Later I checked for forum and saw that people were having some pretty bad luck with them. The Halloween skins are an exception to the fused weapons because they are tradeable which I liked more because hey, if you’ve got crap luck you can hit the TP and buy one. I’m still undecided on which method I like better. The guarantee that you’ll get the skin you want if you get the ticket, or the ability to buy them after getting garbage. The truth of the whole thing though is to tempt people to spend money on them. A lot of people don’t and they convert their gold into gems, and if everyone did that, our game wouldn’t exist for much longer. If there’s a good skin that comes out that’s not trade able, I’m willing to spend a max of $50 to test my luck. If I don’t get what I want I move on. The weapon completes the theme for my thief, its not the sole reason I stand out. He’s wearing mixed armors between asuran t3 and inquest dyed abyss and gold with red straps. I’m working on the incinerator for him and the destroyer dagger is a bit lack luster. Then the fused were released and I decided that will be my other weapon. No one forced me to buy it but me. Arena Net needs money to survive and when their mediocre town clothes don’t pay the bills, gambling will for now.
Are we really bashing Kormir, when Grenth or Balthazar didn’t even aid us in, you know, staving off invasions to their realms?!!?!?
I think each of the tasks we had to perform in The Realm of Torment, The Underworld, and Fissure of Woe were really minor tasks compared to whatever scope the gods have to deal with. For all we know Kormir could’ve been reversing the effects of Nightfall as we helped cleanse her realm. Balthazar could be fighting Menzies in an eternal battle while we hold his fortress, who knows? Kormir took on the responsibilities annd duties of a GOD, like Grenth did. I’m glad we didn’t get that responsibility because we would’ve probably ended up like Abaddon
We would have done a much better job at being a god than any of the normal gods. We would find an exploit to use in our favor or a build to counteract whatever challenges are set before us. We mortal players are capable of doing more than the gods ever could.
1. Tengu
2. Dredge
3. Largos.
There, air, earth, and water!
I love the Dredge, and I hope they become a playable race in an expansion. I read somewhere that a lot of them migrated to Cantha, and was holding out hope for them there. However Cantha is dead (thanks NC Soft)
True story, I would like the skin less if everyone had it. I think they should increase the chance on their drop rates a bit, but it’s difficult to make your character stand out with the limited armor and weapon selections that are in the game.
The problem with them selling nice looking skins in the trading post for a flat fee is EVERYONE will buy them if they look flashy enough, and I don’t want some common weapon that everyone else is using. Think about how many people use great swords for example. If they released the Greatsaw sword skin or the Fused sword skin as a straight purchase, 80% of the population would be running around with it and effectively killing its value.
So you post a thread and then attack people for posting their opinions that don’t agree with yours?
Eh, I don’t mind the RNG on chest skins. It keeps them from being super common, so only the people who REALLY want them go for them. I guarantee that every weapon set that is released won’t be to your taste. The new eyeball weapons I think are great aside from ruining them with eyeballs and a Soul Edge theme. Not something I’d spend money on. I also really like that its now a token to get the skin you want vs random skin.
Yes please! I love all of those outfits (except male Sylvari)
I think the tool belt skill for it should be like those 3 charr in CoF that slide into you send knock you back and hits hard, only replace the animation with a flying, flaming ninja kick that explodes on contact. I think just doing that would make it viable to use, even with the normal part launching you back
I remember the overcharge hitting 2-3 enemies in close proximity. Havnt played him thatmuch since the 30th breaking the traits I use. 240 is not big at all. That’s 120 on each side of the target, which is a little less than the warriors rifle butt attack
And how warriors Fear Me is better than necro fear.
It looks amazing on my character, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t see it going above 200 gold, but that’s my thoughts. They seem to be adding quite a bit of variety to back items now so there may be more fitting ones coming out in the future. I would definitely hold on to one and sell it later if you can get one for cheap, but I wouldn’t spend over 120 on one to hope to make a profit. There isn’t really a category to search for skins I don’t think, and newer people won’t even know it exists.
I hope an elder dragon ate the entire kitten continent.
I hope under the mask they look like the predator
New styles of aqua breather that look cool. Hopefully one will be an old school dive helmet. And the ability to color them would be nice.
Yeah… it seems whenever they touch a skill they forget all the traits. Engineer turret traits are broke again.
I would have bought one of them if it weren’t for the horrid sleeves.
9/10 I like it, its cute for a feline name.
Klout Steamsaw, Iron legion warrior!
I have carved bloody swathes through countless battlefields with Greatsaw clenched in my fists. Enemies tremble when they hear the roar of her engine and the screams of their fallen as they are butchered before us! Together we will tear the wicked from Tyria.
For Iron! For the Vigil! For Steam!
I hope my turrets work properly soon.
I hope so. I loved the kitten out of that place!
Hmm never noticed that.
Omg you really had my hopes up! I thought this was an actual quote.
I would love more titles based on progression through your storylines. I realize some wouldn’t quite fit on other races so we could keep them somewhat general. I’m going to use my Charr as an example.
Legionnaire – first story arc
Centurion – when you get promoted
Recruit – joining the Vigil
Crusader – rank up
Warmaster – rank up
Commander – when you get promoted in the Pact.
(Something for beating story)
I just think this would be nice and give you minor achievement titles to choose from because there aren’t too many in the game yet and there’s giant chunks of people using certain titles (Golden, Distinction in applied jumping, Avenger of the disposessed)
All his concept art has him in a sweet red cape.

Charr hack and hammer with their weapons most of the time it seems. I don’t mind it but I’ve only played my warrior and ranger. Rangers got some graceful moves.
Yeah, I believe they used to in GW1. Hell! Humans wore them as armor! http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/f/f2/Warrior_Elite_Charr_Hide_armor_m.jpg
