I think Rangers could have been done a bit better. I had high hopes for trappers in gw2, and end result as nutz notes, anything a ranger can do, another class can do better.

Immob? again, take your pick of class, rangers don’t excel too much here either (3 skills maybe? one at cost of elite).

The one thing I would give rangers credit for, is there underwater skillset, yet no one fights underwater and the water has all but been removed from most places.

But look at the bright side, the ones who are good at ranger class, and some are amazing… very few but some.

Sooner or later rangers will in fact be buff’d. They will get love, someday.

You don’t speak for everybody a large group of us are sick of anet dancing around the issue of stacked servers. Why do any of these top 3 servers deserve any rewards for having stacked populations? Season 2 should just be edge of the mists / alliance battles. Blues/reds/greens all play for there color.

I figured it was for your internal masses, to settle any random rumors. Like I said, I saw your claims in our matchup last week on keeps and camps.

All server go through ups and downs. But SoR still a force, and actively recruiting so I don’t doubt SoR strength will grow over the coming months.

Server forums generally should be the place to be a receptacle for this type of stuff though. Posting it on the official forums otherwise looks like social engineering, good leaders know how to position themselves in the optimal situation before starting, just stating that. So I commend the write up regardless.

I saw them claim for buffs and claim for camp upgrades. They still active, and fun battles, but yeah. When sweeping posts come out on the official forums to ‘clarify’ … I assume your trying to reach your broader internal audience who obviously are not listening or paying attention to your own forums.

The rest of us must be just audience members waiting for the final curtain to see how the story ends, and we’ll applause or not. I’d prefer to see strength of perseverance so whatever warranted this posting publicly to inadvertently provide some background into the server history to newer players, yank at the heart and give yourself a niche … still wondering why publicly here unless…

@ OP …. I have 1 of everything except guard (beta class), and ranger.

I have to say, outside of mesmer …. Engi was the most enjoyable. The sheer amount of options is so much fun to play with.

I have fun on my ele too, but it’s limiting in terms of options atm. Your great GvG/zerg support and have some roaming dueling options …. but that about it. Engi’s just seemed like more fun, bombs, grenades, tiny dunks, wrench pulls, flame thrower, elixirs just so many variations you can come up with.

In the end I’d suggest you think about your playstyle (wvw, gvg,duels/raoming, or havoc) what do you do nightly? Have a look at some of the videos out there and see if anything helps weigh in your decision.

As you have a mesmer, I only suggest engi if you want to learn more and play with many options, eles I found to be more about learning rotations in team play. Again, I’d sugggest having a look at some videos of the better players within the profession and see if anything sticks.

Has auto heal been removed yet? If so, then I’m sorry I can’t support this. Not working within my get rich quick scheme.

Community has tons of fun. We don’t care much about what others say. Internally we just like having fun, and improving our own preferred game play. Super relaxed environment.

But yeah, I would assume most servers like this.

Yeah, gotta point this one at Anet to resolve, or get creative on how to address. Which they haven’t come up with any solution yet. Likely talked about it, but probably little they can do atm.

Its not like they don’t see how the wins occur. This has been in the system since the titan alliance with hod.

The 3 servers themselves just played moneyball accordingly and personally I say that’s smart leadership by looking at the game, looking at the rules, and finding how best they can give there server a shot at the title. They did. Whose to blame them for having deeper pockets or leadership who actually got off there butts and took that step?

Anet has to resolve so that is not the case moving forward, but until then, take a page outta there book or don’t get emotionally invested into the seasons. It is what it is.

EDIT: Actually i’m going to retract my statement, and only give props to BG. The other two servers didn’t accelerate or aim to fill gaps, rather they FA kinda slid down to silver, and HoD I have no idea what happened. But BG leadership played it proper. JQ should get some credit too, they picked up some OCX SEA on top of there already strong force.

So they’ll hit like trucks, but drop like a sack of $#17 bag of bricks loot. Okay, good to know.

Yep fast crafting is roughly 145g, normal is 90-95g courtesy of huntsmen and weaponsmith being ridiculously $ (and yeah when you paying that much, your not really trying to cut corners to save 10g, I mean – that’s 1 night farming eachother)

Yeah I leveled 4 … last month … because … who the hell wants to level an alt the normal way (yuck). BTW … this thread inspired me to start a needy kids foundation for every upleveled opponents in WvW. Donate today, there are way too many ^^ .. all in the name of ranks lol.

Useless weapon / class – scepter guardian … never see anyone in wvw using it – so it’s gotta be garbage.

Crafting takes 8 hours, 0-400 for all 8 professions. It’s boring as hell, but with the 20 lvl scroll – huzzuh 80.

Costs roughly 90-95G for the mats… not that I have alts, or have crafted alts for others friends before.

They don’t do that, they either too cheapo/broke … or ignorant.

It says play 7 weeks, complete meta = reward key for reward chest. Reward chest contents based on server rank. No where does it say 4,5,6 get nothing.

4 – Jump Puzzles (easiest)
1 – Repair master (sound like lots, but repair stone mist castle, red team always trebs a hole into the outer wall… or a keep that gets attacked)
1- kill enemies
1- 50 wvw ranks can be cheesed I think with laurels
1- bloodlust nodes
1- camps (not mercenary camps, dont even try that)
1- 5 SMC captures

that’s fairly easy 10/15 in a night or 2

Thank you BG for what was easily one of the most intense series of fights I’ve been part of recently last night at SoR north camp. We kept trying to thin your numbers before the final face off, but your two main groups coordinated well and still made us work for every second of the final confrontation.

The problem is your just assuming that the lower servers are dead, they maybe just dead for WvW, you have to get someone interested in it, I would say that after the league you will see a lot of guilds moving about, in order to get better battles in the next season,

I heard that the Silver league was more fun to be in than the gold league, and that’s saying something.

The lower tiered servers are dead. If you say they are not, I would ask you visit there pve side as well. I had a week in ferg’s and it took forever to down jormag, in kaineng no different, in fact when I arrived there back on the ‘mouthbreather’ era … they couldn’t even farm orr properly. This coming from a past Darkahaven player, whose pve was far superior.

But none of them are near as solid as TC and BG, I would assume JQ the same.

And yes, I’d also concur that Gold League every server enjoyed for the most part. Even some SoR but server as a whole may be enjoyed it the least. I cannot speak for them, but I’ve seen nothing but positive and enjoyable times across the other 5.

A guild upgrade buff package, that’s a new ballgame. This can be done seasonally, with events, with monthly tie in’s … ingenious.

You need support. 1 guy no matter how good you may be, will never stop 5 guys knocking down your walls. If your the only one who is actively defending it, whether sPvP or WvW your going to lose, unless they are complete meatheads. But they would be farming skelks, griffons or minotaurs then and not strike as they did.

They did that as they knew they could likely get away with it. Paper test first what kinda response your server would give during that time… then proceeding till death, and no response came.

Now… the issue you speak will persevere in every tier, however… and I hate saying this … you have better shots holding things with more people. More people are found ^^ up the tiers.

Even then, I’m on TC, and while we have many valiant defenses, we may have 10 or so defending a t3 ‘x’ and you would think that should hold, but …

toss enough omegas in, and it all comes crumbling down, SoS pulled this off saturday night to us. Tore down a fortified wall via omegas and maybe a sup cata, but little we could have done, they had about 50 or so supporting the 5 or so omegas under cover, yes we had about 6 sup ac’s raining down on them the whole time. End result eventually was Keep lost.

Golems OP, zergs not punished enough … same issue bigger scale, but not alone.

I’d offer to do some periodic checks with your group composition to make sure you have some necessities to gaining an edge on your opponent.

Namely check if you have staff eles on comms who can hear you, and if you have mesmers, then necros. This provides you ability to call or plan your advances. “Can I have frost right side, veil left side were moving left and cutting into there tail.” Also waters, cleanse, etc. Necros for marks are great too. Sometimes good fear marks can act like frost fields and provide a nice soft area to split the enemy force in two.

I think its safe to assume you have hammer guards and warriors.

Scouts I believe is the number one resource though. Overall, you want to drive the enemy off the map, these eyes can give you the heads up to cut off there advances every time.

Yeah, but my information was more valuable than another upset tummy about 2v1, it was fresh, and exciting, just like our coffee, our hockey, and our ladies.

Yep… Kaineng OP commanders could definitely take on t1 with that kinda tactic. No coding will ever be able to solve that. Not even giving the OP of threadextra 2 weeks.
