o.o spvp is casual. you can join one fight, and then go sleep. tpvp might require some a little bit more than casual gaming, but the wvw community is better x 100 than any other gw2 community besides Role players.

for one to trully enjoy spvp/tpvp – one must have every character to choose – just like aeon of storms or storm of the imperial sanctum. And that’s the only investment you need.

There is no progression.

Having no progression does not mean your characters need to play different, just that they have max gear/stats by default. IMO it is a poor design decision.

IMO it’s not the stats/balance but the options of type of battles we get to play in. Sure capping objectives and moving on is okay, but a lot of players just want to battle it out like football – pick a home field, and learn it, how to manipulate it best and take your team against the opponent. They don’t want to go ‘capture point A,B,C’ five times over in a match…. well some, but it’s jusst not as enjoyable as smacking someone in the nose.

the days of old, when skill capping required sig of capture, and we actually got halls, not barnyard battles. Not that there is anything wrong iwth it, just seems Anet’s old gvg staff musta left for another game. Legit pvp … or your players make it up and ‘interrupt others gameplay’

Just curious about the variety here, if maybe we’ll have a shot to see some two handed variety such as battle axes, halberds or polearms down the road.

As mag guilds generally run tagless, we include any pugs in number counts when the other groups are running tags. If you have 15 guildies, but 25 pugs, you’re a 40 man group.

If its 25 pugs and only 15 guildies, the pugs arent part of the guild. They might be a 40 man group, but you cant call 15 PiNK and 25 pugs a PiNK blob, because its not.
and I’m fairly sure 40 isnt a blob either. TC has several guilds that run taggless, just happens that the ones that run with tags are getting the attention. Someone has to lead the militia (and quite frankly, even running taggless they find their way to you)

Maybe his monitor has calibration issues? and he counted you guys, the militia, his own team members, some jq, the dolyaks and the sentry…

As I raid with 25-30 most of the time, I try my best not to gank roamers, but this time was an exception.

The group I run with usually ganks roaming groups we pass. 9/10 times I just keep running with the commander or just stand away.

I play a necro and roam on it sometimes…. the mobility sucks but there’s really 2 things that help that.

1 – carry a staff, if your going to be in combat it offers a couple skills to limit the opponents mobility. Quick recharge too.
2 – if not in combat, flip in your signet of run speed, flip it out when approaching combat.

Can always run with warhorn too, or spectral walk 33%.

It’s not an issue with necro alone, so I wouldn’t call it out as class specific. In kitten, if your roaming during NA prime, and your about to get zerged down… it’s mostly because you weren’t paying attention to the approaching zerg. You can always see them coming and get away if need be. It’s not hard. Zerg commanders often are able to juke out there own zerg, no reason you can’t either if you have a huge headstart (if your sitting capping/ and decide the cap is more important that that space between you and the zerg, you already made your bed).

Besides, it’s more fun to hash out things within guild/group/voip channel then to pvf it (I figure most servers do this, its really only the minority who air dirty laundry and point fingers publicly). What are they called? The vocal minority or something? Granted all people have limits if you set them on yourselves. More enjoyable to fight and play how you want.

TC are an awesome server. As i pointed out in the last thread, they kept a constant ~150ppt in the last match from start till end showing that they never gave up and tried their best throughout the week and there was never even a single QQ from them unlike a certain server we all know.

Had fun battling you guys too. Even if times were a little tougher, not goign to stop us from having fun and playing in WvW.

I don’t know if it’s server pride, as opposed to gaming ‘community’. I find the TC community absolutely great and enjoy logging into the wvw community, and going out to run a muck somewhere. It’s relaxing, peaceful and fun. Each community is different, some a little more hardcore or tense, some laid back.

You can call it server pride, but I don’t think it does it just…. I would say fidning your gaming community goes hand in hand with WvW. I’ve been on DH and Kaineng on the climb, neither come close to TC’s community (well Kaineng had its moments but not like TC).

I hear they may even reinstate karaoke nights. Games are meant to be fun first, that’s why they don’t call it a ‘job’

the reason why people are pestering pvx and/or blob guilds for gvg is because they are the ones most likely to chest thump after wiping an enemy group of 20 with 60 people.

gvg’s let such guilds see how terribly they will perform in an even numbered fight.

GvG’s allow players to have a mini scale battle/brawl deathmatch style. It’s good if your into it, and gives room to try to improve player and team synergy … not so easy when in larger volumes.

Sometimes blasting that dark field may be the only thing betwween your side winning and the other sides last standing wiping ya.

That being said, I’m a traditionlist who cared more for split squad tactics to push/pull pressure style of a map. Goad them in right side, while left pushes… old school. Legit.

This headstrong stuff just makes me wanna get hammered drunk and go smash buttons, very little thought and can autopilot blasting fields.

the kittenty thing I find in GvG’s is your very dependent on the team (its also what drives you to work harder on team synergy) … but as your dependent if you only have enough on and invite some weaker links, it very weel will cost you.

Still fun though.

We do it today generally in a few hours (2-5pm pst ~ish). For the few hours pre reset – until we have to 15 all our characters, and prep/food/oils/siege the hour before.

Thursday we do karma train – drunken, but past 2 weeks we’ve not bothered to pop tags, instead just sat in a keep and let the big boys run circles while we take our keep. If we don’t have 15-30 players on – we would just slow the train down and there’s no sense getting in the way then.

Oh and congrats to whomever got a precursor. They rarely ever drop. Serious, I think I’ve only heard of 2 drop in wvw (both unconfirmed with out pics~ so maybe kitten comment but to each there own. If legit, congrats on the rng)

oPP does not play resets.

Could have been been mid week – it’s been a few weeks now sicne that match up. I remember fighting you guys at our north camp and you guys brought numbers, and then again at northwest camp … and you were on map with PLX who ran separate from you. But between the two of you – each had enough to consider a sizeable force requiring scouting.

I never saw oPP alone this week. I have seen them roam prior though. Last night was only 4 or so dudes mixed with scrubs (I mean multi guilds, not incinuating skill) spawn camping. It was boring. When we were winning, more would show, and that’s solely because they have nothing else to do. No biggie.

Regarding the karma train SoRBL – kinda expected a late start, and we on TC didn’t do figure 8’s we only had enough to flip hills on the timer, thats why we stayed in their. When SoR popped on the map – i think it kidna got messy, hope you guys were able to pm eachother and figure it out. Good time to help level alts when we spend all week on our mains battling. It’s always nice to look forward to thursday’s community cross server events

Second, thanks to all who took part in the karma train in SoRBL, I know there was one in TCBL too. The reason we never came to BGBL, we would have shared bay, but didn’t want people to tempt on your garri, besides…. most karma trains happen on 2nd, 3rd place maps.

Special thanks to the BG dude who chilled with us in hills end of night. Not so much to the bunker engi who was sweeping or the thai mesmer who was way to op for my lvl 45 alt. Hope you enjoyed my banner as I did your merch.

He meant TC has nothing in the time period where ZD and IRON play in. It’s post NA / early OCX . TC does have EU players … in fact its a stronger time slot than our OCX/SEA… but i believe its more late EU / early EST base of players? i can’t speak for them. Prior to EU though, the gap has been exploited proven so that we can only muster up defense on TCBL / Garri and maybe our EB Keep – we’ve never attempted to strech out to our opposing BL’s with any expectation that we’ll see it in the morning.

That would require … more OCX/SEA and a guild in the early EU timeslot.

NA though we have forces on till usually late night, even losing. We dun care about score – we do however know when to let a tower sit (cough) JINX not letting our 5 man take it back, yep that was me standing there on my uplevelled (yes same guy who took out catas in back) watching at spawn – btw I had 0 expexctation we were going to take it back.

On behalf of many, I’d like to at least say thank you to TC who continually made the effort throughout the whole week, win or lose they never acted like spoilt children refusing to login and continually running away.

If anything, if other Russian/EU guilds are thinking of transferring to NA to compete with ZDs on BG, consider TC as your server rather than SoR or JQ – TC have the mentality and willingness to fight and BG at least would love to see them up there competing with us week after week – they at least deserve the extra coverage to compete and have always been extremely good mannered and honorable in game, both in defeat and winning.

I’d love to see BG win the seasons and TC come second, both servers actually deserve it.

TC is very much like BG, hell we fought you and SoR for so many months back in tier 2, BG and SoR managed to recruit and pull ourselves to tier 1 but TC were unable to recruit enough to fully break into it and kick JQ out

alot of very good wvw guilds were spawned on TC, tempered with RP and fighting t1 and t2 servers

I dont know if TC will ever be able to recruit enough to join BG and SoR or whether the t1 servers will de stack and balance all the gold servers, but we can dream

TC are best just the way they are imo. Whenever i get bored of T1, i go there for a couple of weeks to enjoy WvW the way it should be. It’s always pure fun on their side. Dunno if it’s changed because i haven’t been there for quite some time but TC for me used to be like a vacation land, i go there every few weeks to relax and enjoy

It still is. In fact we re-did the beaches and the swim wear is now a little slimmer in design ;-)

- then transfer to TC.

Fixed. Make T1.5 into T1 and 4 servers, and keep building that until you have 6 servers competitively fighting. People get bored of fighting the same crap day in and day out. The rest is not worth it.

Wake up the next day near on equal, a new large BG EU guild and TC no where in sight ( as commented earlier I have seen maybe 10-20 at max one time in 2 days ). :S just seems fishy while I was playing 8 hours a day and in my sleep/work break that happened.
I read the conspiracies on here and they seem like a pretty logical explanation for someone desperate to win at any cost.

How ever I was not even slightly joking with the farming part, seriously keep it up. I’m sure one of you has my next precursor.

Are you referring to our EU timeslot? Or NA~ because I’m pretty sure I’ve seen more than 10 per map in NA when we queue it and take back our stuff. But I cannot speak to other timezones right now, masybe the new pve content captivated them? Did you check around those toxin things?

That’s partly the reason why I stayed in SOR. Team/Map chat is largely clean. It’s partly a result of community policing and mass reporting of folks (it does work, people get temp banned for verbal abuse) who verbally abuse other people on chat.

Sorry read this note – and reminded me of something last night. On TC in EBG, we had a gold farmer in trying to spam his promotional crap, I don’t remember who, but a TC member – i think maybe Brynn from RoT responded “If your going to sit in OW and spam that message can you at least move into the circle and contest it for us?”

a few things BG and SoR need to realice, a big chunk of TC is militia, its casuals, that pve, rp and many dont play much, they might jump on a hour or two when they come home from work, so their gear is what they have, i think they know, as i know, and you know, its not the perfect for wvw, but hey, i think they do very good, and as long as they have fun, thats what the game is about, but alot of the people in TC isent 24/7 wvw players, their casuals, grown ups, with a hour or two to spare, so they use what they got

Its true, that in open field, we get alot of stomping, but when the militia gets backed up and coordianted with some of the geared and wvw organiced guilds, TC does her fair share of stomping as well, but ya we are alittle like a box of chocaltes, but we do what we can with what we have, and let people play as they choose, either way, we have funs and allways something to do, ewen if it means getting your tushie handed to you lol

^^ Right here. And i’ll just add a props to the militia of TC. They do a fine job and have fun playing. To be honest if it’s not a guildie, there’s little to no expectations oand “ANY” contribution, is appreciated. So long as your here, go hit something.

No one wants to be the kid who fails uni because he plays a video game too much, all grown ups with full time jobs and children – come to TC. Relaxed environment, and go smash stuff a few hours a night. Guilds have there own agenda and goals, but if I’m running a late night havoc with random militia (and yes I do love doing this to get to know random players from other guilds), just follow my target and we’ll be fine

BG plays on reset and weekends as well. Some do not, but i have many friends on BG … and I see them at the portals queueing for that first in line. Same as all servers, we have guilds that don’t like reset, we also have guilds that don’t like showing up when there 10 go out against 40. (/wave is meant to say hi to my friends nothing more- do not misinterpret please)

So I ordered 8000 gems yesterday for tags and such. I work full time, same with brother … we don’t have time to do the farming my life away (not that there is anything wrong with that), to each there own. I’m happy to toss money at this to enrich my gaming experience, buy stuff – especially considering we both want 1 of each character.

Yesterday night at 9 I ordered 8000 gems, and wanted to order 20,000

(8k,8k,4k to break it down). It wouldn’t let me make the second order? Okay, so not sure why it stops me from buying gems. But we know there are many quirks about the systems, so I figured there was a 24 hour stop between orders. Fine, Today 24 and half hours later – still rejects the order?

Can you tell me what it is going to take to place another order for 8000 gems and another order for 4000? My brother will never come into these forums, but we are in game and happy to discuss with a rep. We are paying via paypal, and the money has been sitting there for a week now. We don’t really think it’s right to prevent our gaming experience which includes buying your gems.

Twiddling our thumbs for now trying to come up with strange ideas why the transactions are being stopped. Any ideas? Help is always appreciated, we don’t really have much else to do until we can move forward with the gems.
